Bin seit 1999 in einer 9,75%Argentinien-Anleihe WKN 304040 investiert. Kursverlust bisher 46%. Papier-Rendite 53%!!!

Viel Optimismus hier , was den IWF angeht ....

S&P Lowers Argentina LT Ratings to Selective Default
NEW YORK, November 6, 2001¾Standard & Poor`s today lowered its longterm
local and foreign currency sovereign credit ratings on the
Republic of Argentina to `SD` (selective default) from double-`C`,
indicating that the republic is defaulting on some of its obligations.
When the government publishes a complete list of obligations eligible
for the exchange offer that was launched today, Standard & Poor`s will
lower its long-term local and foreign currency ratings on the affected
debt to `D` from double-`C`, indicating that these obligations are
effectively in default, as defined by Standard & Poor`s.
The double-`C` and single-`C` ratings on Brady bonds, Letes, Letras
issued in May 2001, the 9% National Government Bond due 2002, and
Fiscal Credit Certificates Decree 979-01, which have not been included
in today`s exchange offer, are affirmed. The triple-`C`-plus rating
assigned to series E and F of the zero-coupon unsecured notes
benefiting from the rolling partial guarantee of the World Bank and the
triple-`A` rating on series D of the same notes also are affirmed.
Standard & Poor`s defines default to include instances where either
scheduled debt service is not paid on the due date or an offer of new
debt contains terms less favorable than in the obligations being
replaced. The terms of Argentina`s exchange offer extend the maturity
of each affected obligation maturing between now and 2010 by three
years and reduce the coupon on the affected bonds to 7% or less; the
total value of the new securities is less than the originally
contracted amount for all debt included in the exchange. The exchange
offer dated today is available to all debt holders, but it is
anticipated that most participants will be Argentine residents. An
exchange offer targeting nonresidents may follow (most likely in early
2002).
Standard & Poor`s views the Republic of Argentina as effectively being
in default despite the fact that bondholders likely will accept the new
Guaranteed Loans offered in today`s debt exchange without declaring an
Event of Default. This reflects Standard & Poor`s long-held position
that acceptance of an exchange offer in a distressed situation (such as
that now faced by Argentina) is "voluntary" for creditors only in the
sense that the likely alternative-outright payment default and possibly
protracted negotiations on debt restructuring-might be even less
advantageous.
Standard & Poor`s will assign a rating to Argentina`s Guaranteed Loans
once the exchange offer closes. The new bonds are likely to be rated in
the triple-`C` category. Although the security on the guaranteed loans
may include a lien on the collection of future federal taxes, Standard
& Poor`s does not view such security as representing a material benefit
to investors. Interest paid on the new Guaranteed Loans will be exempt
from income taxes, but this will not offset the loss suffered by
creditors in the exchange.
The sovereign credit ratings will remain at `SD` (selective default)
until the exchange offer is concluded. Thereafter, the ratings will
rise and reflect a revised assessment of the sovereign`s general credit
standing, most likely in the triple-`C` category.

..hoffe jeder weiß was das bedeutet...
..der Staat Ecuador hat eine GmbH gegründet.. (eng. Ltd.)..
