DJ MARKET TALK: Nybot Coffee Rises; Stays In Monday's Range
1019 EDT [Dow Jones] - Nybot pit July coffee is up 90 points at $1.1620 a
pound, holding in Monday's parameters. "Small speculators were the main buyers
in the pit, taking it up, with limited origin selling," a desk manager says. "I
love the way London's acting -- making new highs. If London works higher, we
will too." Northern Parana, Brazil was cold but frost free early Tuesday, with
no freezing weather expected in the nation's groves through Sunday, Somar says.
Indonesia's robusta harvest is picking up after delays. Vietnamese growers
typically start clearing out old stocks in July before the next harvest. Nybot
July-Sept rollovers are under before notices start on June 21. Pit July is
supported at $1.1550, $1.1530, $1.15, $1.1480 and $1.1450-$1.1430, with
resistance at $1.1660-$1.1670, $1.1690, $1.17, $1.1730 and $1.1750. (SGB)

http://www.nybot.com/
dort gibt es auch weitere interssante Infos.

Nybot Coffee Review: Rallies As Funds Cover Shorts, Buy
DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
Pit-traded arabica coffee futures raced through buy stops to three-month
highs on the New York Board of Trade Friday as funds covered shorts and bought
in an absence of Brazilian origin selling, brokers said. Options volume was
heavy, with calls actively traded.
Pit July closed up 5.50 points at $1.1740 a pound, with September up 5.45
points t $1.2020.
"ICE was up quite a bit in early morning action," a New York desk manager
said. "The pit gapped up and July took out stops at $1.14 to $1.1410. The
market leveled off for awhile, but with renewed fund imterest, took off again
in the last 20 minutes in the pit."
"Brazil was only selling on an arbitrage basis today," he continued. "It's
hard to say much about Brazil's new subsidy plan since details are so sketchy.
Right now it's a shot in the dark as to how it will all work."
The July-September spread settled at 280 points July under, versus 285 points
Thursday. Nybot pit futures volume was estimated at 11,718 lots, and in
options, 11,177 calls and 8,323 puts traded, according to Nybot. ICE electronic
volume was 35,000 lots at 1:25 p.m. EDT.
"Brazil finally announced details of its subsidy plan and Colombia approved a
new subsidy," said Hernando de la Roche, director of Hencorp Futures in Miami.
Brazil wasn't selling futures Friday because the real's so strong, he noted.
In new Brazilian Pepro auctions, farmers will vie for the right to win a
BRL40-per-bag subsidy over the price of coffee, but must sell beans at a
BRL260.00 minimum. Since prices are well below that for fine and extra fine,
growers will likely have to retain beans until 2008 for the subsidy to have
value.
Colombian officials Thursday raised the price level at which a subsidy will
be paid to growers to about 80 cents per pound in green coffee equivalent after
local purchase prices dipped recently to 83 cents per green pound.
No damaging cold is expected in Brazil's groves over the next five days, DTN
Meteorlogix said Friday.
Pit July is supported at a gap at $1.1350-$1.1225, with resistance at
$1.1790, $1.18, $1.1830, $1.1850 and $1.1870.
