Lakota Management Changes and Grant of Stock Options
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 28, 2006) - Lakota Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:LAK) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that Mr. Tom Carpenter was elected as a director of the Company at the Annual and Special Meeting of shareholders held on June 20, 2006 (the "Meeting"). Mr. Carpenter is an educator in Saskatchewan and will qualify as an independent director for the purposes of applicable securities laws. Messrs John (Jack) Tindale, Brian Lock and David Smalley did not stand for reappointment at the Meeting as they wish to pursue other interests. The Board thanks them for their contributions to the Company.
The Company is also pleased to announce that the TXV Venture Exchange has accepted for filing the Company's Stock Option Plan (the "Plan") which was also approved by shareholders at the Meeting. Pursuant to the terms of the Plan, the Company can issue up to a maximum of 10% of the shares that are issued and outstanding at the date of grant of an option. For further details regarding the plan please refer to the Company's information circular dated May 16, 2006 prepared in connection with the Meeting which can be found at www.sedar.com. On June 21, 2006 the Company issued an aggregate of 2,285,000 options, exercisable at a price of $0.28 per common share, being the closing price on June 20, 2006, to George Breuler, 1,000,000 Stanley Robinson, 800,000 Tom Carpenter, 200,000, Martin Taylor, 200,000 and to Gary Nassif, 85,000. These options, if not exercised, will expire on June 20, 2011.
Outstanding Shares: 44,298,523
The TSX Venture Exchange has not reviewed and does not accept responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this release.
