Mich verwundert das Desinteresse an Destiny Media hier im Forum. Meines Erachtens ist es nu eine Frage der Zeit bis die Aktie explodiert. Destiny hat über viele Jahre nach und nach die großen US-Plattenfirmen und Radiostationen unter Vertrag genommen und beliefert diese mit der neuesten Musik in einem digitalen Format, das man heute als den Standard bezeichnen kann. Bislang gibt es noch ein Problem: Nach wie vor werden die CDs auch physikalisch bereitgestellt. Dementsprechend verdient Destiny bislang mit seiner Technology nicht viel. Es dürfte jedoch nur noch eine Frage der Zeit sein, bis die Musik ausschließlich im digitalen Format bereitgestellt werden wird. Und dann wird es Einnahmen sprudeln. Man sollte bereits vorher dabei sein.... Attrativ ist an der Aktie noch, dass ein weiteres Absacken nach untern wenig wahrscheinlich erscheint. Destiny hat zudem ein Reihe weiterer Produkte, so dass die Risiken gestreut sind.

Destiny Media Launches Canada’s First Legal Online Commercial Music Service
System will provide DJ’s with immediate and unique music content
Vancouver, BC – September 14, 2006 – After establishing MPE security technology as the industry standard for digitally delivering new music releases over the Internet to radio broadcasters (http://www.promoonlympe.com), Destiny Media Technologies and partner Promo Only, today launched Canada’s first online commercial music service, Promo Only Digital Download Service (www.podds.ca).
This is the first and only commercial online music service to be approved by the Canadian Audio-Video Licensing Agency (AVLA), which represents virtually every Canadian record label including Universal Music Canada, Warner Music Canada and EMI Music Canada. Destiny Media (OTC Bulletin Board: DSNY) is pleased to announce results for the year ending August 31, 2006. Revenues increased 15% over the prior year. Expenses jumped 8%, but the net loss fell by 11%. The increase in expenses reflects growing adoption of the Promo Only MPE system, which was being offered on a subsized trial basis during the period to build critical mass with radio.
Destiny is a market leader in providing software for "streaming" and "secure digital distribution" of digital media content, such as music or videos. Streaming is analogous to radio or TV and secure digital distribution is similar to distributing music CD's or DVD's.
Streaming products include Clipstream, which embeds audio or video into a web page and Radio Destiny which enables a live internet radio broadcast.
Secure digital media software products include: the Promo Only MPE music preview service, the MPE online music store software and PODDS, an online music store for DJs. PODDS is also tied into internet enabled jukeboxes which use the system to receive the latest music.
The Promo Only MPE service is the US music industry standard to securely transfer new music tracks from record labels to trusted recipients including radio station program directors and station managers.
Destiny first entered into a development agreement with Universal Music Group in June 2004. This was followed by a launch at the National Association of Broadcasting show in October 2004 and an offering to other major label groups when version 1.1 launched in March 2005.
Since then, an additional 31,000 songs have gone through the system from over 700 labels, representing 28 million transactions. The system is widely embraced by the industry, with paid agreements in place with five labels and strategic relationships established with many industry leaders, including Radio and Records, Clear Channel's subsidiary Mediabase, All Access and Promo Only.
In reaction to feedback from the labels and radio recipients, Destiny has released several upgrades of the system this year, adding Mac support, Spanish support for Latin stations (and templates to support other languages), licensed iPod support and support for downloading music videos. As the labels stop sending physical CD's and the system becomes mission critical, it is important that the system be extremely reliable. The server infrastructure has been upgraded to two physical locations with connection speeds up to a gigabit for scalability to global usage. Preliminary international pilots began this fall in Europe and Australia.
In September, Destiny announced Canada's first online music store for commercial users. This store is based on a new suite of programs for providing encoding, administration, database access and iTunes style player access to the storefront. The company expects to license this software suite to other companies wanting to set up online music stores.
In November, we announced a patent has been filed on our digital watermarking technology. This technique will embed information into sound recordings that identify the originator of illegal copies. It is unique in that it survives analog duplication and compression, but is not audible to the human ear. This is our second pending patent in the music space.
Clipstream was featured in Quirks, the market research industry trade journal in July and we have formed relationships with a number of top companies in the market research vertical, including Global Market Insite (GMI), which provides solutions to 21 of the top 25 market research companies.
In June, the company announced an IP-TV version of Clipstream, which allows consumers to watch television from remote locations. The customer can log into their home PC from any location, anywhere in the world and watch live TV and change channels from their web browser.
Other top verticals for Clipstream include advertising, surveillance applications, podcasting and user generated content. With the recent success of video sites such as You Tube, many customers have approached us to set up "user generated content" and "file sharing" networks. A new Clipstream server offering, featuring real time web based encoding is anticipated to be released in December.

Und die Branche lautet, wie gesagt Internet, etabliert und extrem schnelllebig! Es fällt es mir schwer, aufgrund der vergangenen Zahlen einen echten Hype zu erkennen. Für Stay Long und Geduld fehlt mir hier die innovative Phantasie, die den Markt entzündet.
Das geht mir übrigens nur durch den Kopf weil ich investiert bin und führt vermutlich dazu, dass ich meine Hausfrauenposition bei dem engen Markt jetzt ehr schlechter los werde, allerdings habe ich es auch nicht eilig. Some of the benefits UMG and other record labels will continue to enjoy with the MPE(TM) system, when compared to distribution of physical CDs, include better control over unauthorized copies, shorter lead times for distribution, significant cost savings on a per user basis and better data tracking.

Denn die Kanadier verkündeten nichts anderes, als dass die weltweit führende Plattenfirma Universal Music Group (UMG) künftig in großem Stil digitale Inhalte zur Musik- und Video-Promotion über das verschlüsselte MPE-System von Destiny Media im US-Markt vertreiben wird. Das Geschäft stellt nicht weniger als den krönenden Abschluss einer zweijährigen Testphase dar, in dem das System von Destiny zusammen mit UMG sowie weiteren Playern weiter entwickelt und auf Herz und Nieren geprüft wurde. UMG wird nunmehr über das MPE-System tausende US-Radiostationen mit neuen Musiktitel versorgen und für jeden übertragenen Titel eine Gebühr an Destiny entrichten!

Hinter diesem Schritt von UMG steckt Kalkül! Die Musikbranche leidet bekanntermaßen unter illegalen Kopien ihrer Datenträger. Im Tagesgeschäft werden zur Promotion täglich neue Titel auf CD/DVD an Radiostationen, DJs und Musikwebsites verschickt. Dies machen sich Raubkopierer immer wieder zunutze und bringen illegale Kopien noch vor dem offiziellen Verkaufsstart im Internet in Umlauf - der Plattenindustrie entgehen so Millionen.
Um dieses kostspielige Problem zu beheben, hat Destiny Media binnen weniger Jahre ein Netzwerk in der Musikindustrie geknüpft und mit MPE ein sicheres Verschlüsselungsformat für digitalen Content etabliert. MPE versieht die Inhalte mit einem digitalen Fingerabdruck bzw. Wasserzeichen und stellt auf diesem Weg den autorisierten Gebrauch sicher.
Nahezu alle US-Radiostationen sind mittlerweile an die Datenbank von Destiny Media angeschlossen und können aktuelle Musiktitel über das MPE-Format beziehen. Im Rahmen der Pilotphase wurden seit Start des Systems mehr als 34.000 Songs an Radiostationen online vertrieben, insgesamt 36,5 Millionen Transaktionen! Allein im Januar wurden 4,2 Millionen Content-Transaktionen über das MPE-System abgewickelt! Plattenmultis sparen so Zeit und Geld, schließlich wird der Versand überflüssig. Damit zeichnet sich eine komplette Neustrukturierung des Vertriebs im Musik- und Entertainmentgeschäft ab.
Universal ist erst der Anfang
Mit Universal Music hat sich nunmehr der erste, und wichtigste Plattenkonzern eindeutig für das MPE-System entschieden – hierauf hat Destiny Media über Jahre hin gearbeitet! Es ist nun nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis weitere, ebenfalls an den Tests beteiligte Konzerne folgen. Nach Unternehmensangaben befindet sich das MPE-System bei 773 Plattenlabeln im Probe-Einsatz, darunter auch bei EMI, Sony BMG und Warner Music.
Destiny-Aktie dramatisch unterbewertet
Destiny Media erntet nunmehr die Früchte seiner Arbeit: Allein der aktuelle Abschluss mit Universal dürfte der Gesellschaft nach unseren Schätzungen Gewinne von 10 bis 13 Mio. Euro pro Jahr bescheren. Somit ist Destiny Media angesichts eines branchenüblichen Kurs/Gewinn-Verhältnisses (KGV) von 20 schon jetzt mindestens 200 Mio. Euro respektive 4,20 Euro pro Aktie wert. Tatsächlich ist das Papier aber noch immer mit 0,61 Euro dramatisch unterbewertet!
Wir rechnen deshalb weiterhin in den kommenden Monaten mit einer Kursvervielfachung und sehen bei 4,50 Euro ein erstes Kursziel. In Anbetracht der aktuellen Entwicklung ist Destiny Media einmal mehr ein idealer Übernahmekandidat! Durchaus denkbar wäre auch der Einstieg eines oder mehrerer Plattenmultis. Deshalb sollten Anleger jede Kursschwäche zum Einstieg oder zum Ausbau bestehender Positionen nutzen.

In der aktuellen „Börse Online 11/2002“ wird Destiny Media unter der Rubrik „Börsengeflüster“ unter der etwas fragwürdigen Überschrift „Die neue Apple?“ wohlwollend erwähnt.
