Mawson Third Quarter Update
VANCOUVER, April 3 /CNW/ - Mawson Resources Limited ("Mawson") TSXv -
MAW; Frankfurt - MRY.
Michael Hudson, President & CEO, reports that the company's third
quarter, which ended February 28, 2007, has been an active one on the
corporate, acquisition and drill fronts.
Drilling commenced, and is continuing, at the Tasjo and Klappibacken
uranium projects in Sweden. Initial results released from Tasjo indicated
multiple near-surface uranium and rare earth-mineralized horizons, which
averaged five metres true thickness over an area of 100 metres by 500 metres.
The consistency of grade, the strike extent and the shallow depth of uranium
mineralization are most encouraging, says Hudson. Further drill results from a
larger area at Tasjo will be available soon. The first drill results from the
Klappibacken project are expected within the next six weeks.
The entry of Mawson into Spain was marked with the acquisition of the
past-producing Don Benito historic uranium-mining centre. Additional European
acquisitions included the Stensjodalen uranium prospect in Sweden, which has
demonstrated high uranium grades up to 5.1% U(3)O(8) from surface outcrops.
Further information will also be released in a timely manner on new projects
that have been identified in the three countries where Mawson is now actively
exploring for uranium (Sweden, Finland and Spain).
The Company closed two private placements during the quarter, raising a
total of C$8.69 million dollars. The Company is now well-funded for future
exploration and acquisitions, with more than C$17 million cash held at the end
of the quarter.
Mawson also continues to refocus on exploring and developing its advanced
resource uranium projects in Sweden and Spain. To this end, the Company has
signed a letter of intent with a private, arm's length Australian company to
farm out four non-core, early stage uranium projects in Sweden - namely the
Asnebogruvan, Norr Dottern, Harrejokk and Sjaule projects. Further information
regarding each property may be found at www.mawsonresources.com. Pursuant to
the Letter of Intent, in consideration for a cash payment of US$50,000, the
third party will have the right to enter into a binding agreement by April 22,
2007. The third party may earn an initial 51% interest in the projects by
incurring US$1 million in-ground expenditure in April 2011, with certain
minimum expenditures that are required to be met annually. The third party may
move to a 75% interest by fully funding any project to successful feasibility.
Mawson's free-carried interest shall remain at 49% until completion of a
Bankable Feasibility Study. The agreement is subject to TSX exchange approval.
The Company is also in advanced discussions with third parties to unlock
the value of Mawson's non-uranium projects and to continue to refocus Mawson
as a uranium explorer, moving to development in the shortest possible time.
The qualified person for Mawson's Swedish, Finnish and Spanish
exploration projects, Mark Saxon, Director and Vice-President of Exploration
for Mawson, and a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and
Metallurgy, has reviewed and verified the contents of this release.

Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 28.521.591 von Zockermuddi am 27.03.07 16:37:13Dear Investors, Brokers and Friends:
I am pleased to announce the commencement of drilling at the Kläppibäcken uranium project in northwestern Sweden. A 2,000-metre diamond drill program consisting of 12 drill holes from eight drill sites has been planned.
Uranium mineralization at Kläppibäcken is hosted within a fluorite-rich granite breccia from surface to at least 150 metres vertical depth. The breccia is approximately 70 metres thick and has been drilled to date over a strike length of 125 metres. Thirty-two drill holes for 3,951 metres were completed in the early 1980s by the Swedish Government. Better drill intersections included:
• 53.1m for 0.16% U3O8 from 30.2m in drill hole 84701, and
• 42.7m for 0.11% U3O8 from 2.8m in drilll hole 83705.
Below you will find today’s press release with further information.

Mawson mit neuen News. Kurs dürfte wohl eher heute in Can. weiter nach oben gehen.

Recent Sales Drive Record Uranium Price Higher
TradeTech Raises Weekly Spot Price to US$95/Pound
TradeTech’s chart shows the parabolic uranium price rise continues. TradeTech posts the weekly spot price on the consulting service’s website at www.uranium.info
Is it springtime euphoria or March Madness? History is being made every few weeks in the uranium pricing market. Friday’s announcement by TradeTech’s Nuclear Market Review magazine, raising the weekly spot uranium price to US$95/pound demonstrates another milestone. Soon, it won’t matter whether comparisons are made in constant U.S. dollars or inflation-adjusted currency.
This past week, three transactions were reported by NMR editor Treva Klingbiel for less than one million pounds U3O8 equivalent. Two transactions of 650 thousand pounds U3O8 equivalent contained in UF6 and one for less than 300 thousand pounds of U3O8 were completed in the past week. Material was sold for immediate and June deliveries.
“Seven buyers continue to seek over three million pounds,” according to Treva Klingbiel She added that several additional utilities have begun making preliminary inquiries about future purchases. “Buyers remain willing to pay higher prices,” Klingbiel wrote.
Perhaps higher uranium pricing prompted the transaction between Exelon (NYSE: EXC) and UrAsia Energy (TSX: UUU), announced this past week for 2.5 million pounds of U3O8 to be delivered to the Illinois-based utility between 2009 and 2013. The uranium will be mined at UrAsia’s Akdala and South Inkai in situ recovery operations in Kazakhstan.
NMR announced another 100 thousand pounds will be offered for sale in a sealed-bid auction next week with delivery in April. While the company was not named, nearly everyone in the uranium sector believes this unnamed company would be Mestena Uranium LLC. The private, publicity-shy company is based in Corpus Christi (Texas) and could be responsible for the spot uranium price reaching, or surpassing, the US$100/pound level sometime next week.
Given its current momentum, yellowcake or uranium oxide may someday trade on par with the price of silver. U3O8 is now priced at US$7.91/ounce (if measured in troy ounces as are silver and gold). By comparison, spot silver closed on March 23rd at US$13.13/ounce so it may take a while longer.
After a strong sell-off in late February and early March, uranium stocks have exhibited durability, clawing back into higher ground. Chart courtesy of www.theinvestar.com which tracks both Canadian and Australian stocks. In the Canadian chart, 43 uranium companies – each with more than C$40 million in market capitalization comprise this weekly index. The Australian Index tracks 25 companies, which own uranium assets.
Uranium mining and exploration stocks have begun reflecting the weekly price rise in spot uranium, rebounding from the sell off in late February and early March. Many of the near-term producers don’t require $100/pound uranium to show a profit on their mining efforts, but the high price excites investors – many of whom appear to be doing a ‘New Year’s Countdown’ as spot uranium approaches US$100/pound.
We talked with Matthew Smith of theInvestar.com, who created stock indexes to track Canadian and Australian uranium companies. He is not a registered investment advisor. Smith began tracking a portfolio of 43 Canadian and 25 Australian uranium stocks so that investors could quickly compare how their uranium stocks fared against his non-weighted stock indexes.
While Smith does not dispense investment advice, he told us, “I did not believe the uranium bull market was over.” He was referring to the recent sell off. “Bull markets never end that way,” he added. “The index rebounded accordingly, as it rose 10 percent from the bottom of the short correction, which is typical of corrections in volatile markets. We have formed a bit of support over the past 2-3 weeks and it could go higher.”
Smith believes both the Canadian and Australians stock indexes could test their all-time highs over the next two months. He explained both indexes are dependent upon developments in the sector. He cited drivers for uranium stocks would include higher remediation costs at Cigar Lake, a change in the Australian uranium mining policy, superlative drill results from exploration companies and more consolidation in the junior mining sector, especially one with a large premium attached.

Mawson drills near-surface uranium at Tasjo, Sweden
Monday March 19, 7:04 pm ET
TSXv - MAW; Frankfurt - MRY
VANCOUVER, March 19 /CNW/ - Michael Hudson, President & CEO, announces results from the first drill holes completed by Mawson at its Kronotorpet uranium - rare earth element (REE) project at Tasjo in northwestern Sweden.
Results are available for the first 19 holes (KRODD06001 to KRODD07019) of a 40-drill hole, 2000-metre drill program that will continue until the spring thaw in April.
Uranium mineralization was targeted from the surface to approximately 40 metres vertical depth. These 19 drill holes tested an area of 100 metres by 500 metres, in which all but four holes intersected the uranium-mineralized horizon. The remainder of the drill program will extend this area over a 700-metre by 200-metre area. Drilling was performed on a grid of 25 or 50-metre spacing, on sections separated by 100 metres. The aim of the program is to collect sufficient sample to perform metallurgical test work, and to define an initial CIM-compliant resource within the Kronotorpet area.
Better results are included below with a full list of results presented in the attached table 1.

Tasjo is a sedimentary uranium deposit where uranium mineralization is associated with concretions of carbonate-fluorapatite, which constitute up to 20% of the rock. Mass balance calculations indicate that the uranium grade of the apatite is 0.16%.
Mawson controls a 40-km strike extent of the uranium-mineralized unit in the Tasjo field. Based on 80 historic drill holes and the report, "Geological Investigations in the Tasjo area in 1963 and 1964" (G. Armands, Swedish Atomic Energy Company) it is estimated that 75 to 150 million tonnes exist at Tasjo, with a grade range of 0.03% to 0.07% uranium oxide (U3O8), 0.11% to 0.24% REE and 3.75% to 7.5% phosphate (P2O5). Total contained metal within the field is estimated between 104 to 116 million pounds of U3O8, 165,000 to 180,000 tonnes of REE and 5.63 million tonnes of P2O5. This exploration target estimate is based on the aforementioned report. The potential quantity and grade is conceptual in nature, as there has been insufficient exploration to define the target at this time and it is uncertain that further exploration will result in the definition of a resource.
The magnitude of the exploration target was confirmed in a recent independent NI43-101 technical report by Andrew Browne of Geosynthesis Pty Ltd, the current qualified person at the Jabiluka uranium project in Australia, after a review of Swedish Geological Survey documentation, a field visit and check analysis of core samples.
Further information regarding the Tasjo project and the current drilling program may be found at http://www.mawsonresources.com/index.php?page(equal sign)ProjectsTasjo.
Mr. Hudson stated: "The first drill results from Tasjo have shown multiple near-surface uranium and rare earth mineralized horizons, which average five metres true thickness over an area of 100 metres by 500 metres. The consistency of grade, the strike extent and the shallow depth of uranium mineralization are most encouraging. Further drill results from a larger area will soon be available."

The qualified person for the Tasjo project, Mark Saxon, Director and Vice-President of Exploration for Mawson, and a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, has reviewed and verified the contents of this release.
