An article on Enlyten Sportstrips hit the NY Post today and stated that a number of different NFL football teams have purchased the product in BULK. The product hits Dick's Sporting Goods store this month. The article also stated that the product will be sold in drugstores soon as well (CVS, Walgreens, Happy Harry's, etc???) Many stars are now promoting the product. Enlyten Sportstrips!!

The superthin electrolyte-packed sheets dissolve quickly in your mouth.July 17, 2007 -- WE could tell you that Enlyten SportStrips are a buccally absorbed electrolyte-delivery method, but then we'd have to explain buccal (through the cheek) - and wake you up.

Just think of the new energy booster as Gatorade crossed with a tab of acid. Only better. And legal.

Enlyten SportStrips are superthin sheets packed with electrolytes that dissolve in your mouth. Because of this, the electrolytes enter your bloodstream much faster than traditional energy drinks, which have to go all the way down to your stomach to be absorbed.

This is why winning football teams may soon be dousing coaches with SportStrips - more than 10 NFL teams have purchased Enlyten in bulk, including the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens.

"It's more efficient," says David Berkoff, a doctor at Duke University studying buccal versus gastrointestinal absorption. He says evidence shows the strips deliver electrolytes to the body faster than a beverage - and they deliver more of them.

The product - which comes in orange, vanilla berry and grape, and costs $9.99 for three packets of 18 strips - is being marketed to athletes. It hits drugstores this month.

But the technology's application doesn't end there. Execs at HealthSport, which owns Enlyten manufacturer InnoZen, say Pedia Strips will debut this fall, with half the electrolyte dose of Enlyten. (Since the strips start disintegrating on contact, even the wiliest kid can't spit it out.)

Energy Strips, containing Vitamin B and caffeine, will be available this winter, and Hangover Strips are slated for 2008.

So far, reaction to the Enlyten SportStrips has been positive. Berkoff - a member of HealthSport's advisory council and initially a skeptic - likes their portability compared to a bottle, and says he and his research team have used them and reported fewer leg cramps.

"[I was] not really sure it was going to work," said Berkoff, who also runs. "It made my cramps go away . . . it's easy to use, I find I like the flavor."

Now, if only they could make a strip that actually ran for us.
