Auszug aus dem heutigen Interim Management Statement von Tullow Oil (Zeitraum Jan. - April 14).

Morgen (01.05.) findet das Dublin Shareholder Meeting von Tullow Oil statt.
News wird es wohl morgen geben.

Aidan Heavey, Chief Executive Officer, Tullow Oil plc, commented today:
“We have made good progress across the business since the beginning of the year. Following the issue of our second senior note and the re-financing and expansion of our corporate revolving credit facility, the Group is well funded with a strong balance sheet and cash flow to support exploration, development and production activities. Exploration success in Kenya has continued with the Amosing and Ewoi discoveries in January and development planning for oil production in Kenya and in Uganda is well under way. The TEN Project in Ghana remains on budget and on schedule for first oil in mid-2016 and the TEN farm-down process is ongoing. Progress with the sale of Tullow’s Southern North Sea gas assets has been made with a farm-down of the Schooner and Ketch fields agreed and conclusion of our Pakistan asset sale is expected in the coming months. With high-impact well results expected in the coming months from new and existing basins in Kenya, Ethiopia, Gabon and Norway, there is much to look forward for the remainder of the year and beyond.”

      SOUTH & EAST AFRICA
      Kenya & Ethiopia
In January, Tullow had further drilling success onshore Kenya with its sixth and seventh consecutive discoveries in Northern Kenya at Amosing-1 and Ewoi-1. This resulted in an upgrade of Tullow’s estimated gross discovered resources for the basin to over 600 mmbo.
The Sakson PR-5 rig is continuing drilling operations on the Twiga South-2 up-dip appraisal well which is expected to be completed in May. This rig will then move to drill a down-dip appraisal of the Amosing discovery.
In March, Tullow announced that the Emong-1 exploration well in Block 13T, located on the other side of the fault from the material oil accumulation discovered by the Ngamia-1 well, encountered poorly developed oil bearing sands. This well, which was trying to establish an additional play, has no impact on the potential of the Ngamia oil accumulation or any other prospectivity in the block. The well was plugged and abandoned and the Weatherford 804 rig is now drilling the Ekunyuk-1 well, located in Block 10BB, south of the Ewoi and Etuko discoveries on the eastern flank play. Results are expected in May.
Also in March, Tullow announced well tests on the Etuko and Ekales discoveries which flowed at 550 and 1,000 bopd respectively. The PR Marrioitt rig is now drilling the Ngamia-2 well to appraise the Ngamia discovery with results expected in May. The SMP-5 testing rig will now flow test the Agete-1 discovery well.
The partners continue to work on development studies for the basin along with the pre-FEED for the export pipeline. The current ambition of the Government of Kenya and the joint venture partnership is to reach project sanction for development, including an export pipeline, in 2015/2016. In Ethiopia, the focus of drilling operations has moved to the Chew Bahir Basin where the Shimela-1 exploration well commenced drilling in March with the well expected to reach Total Depth in May. This well will be followed by Gardim-1.

      Zitat von gabbo62: Aus Investorshub:

Fwiw, A brokerage in Sweden is reporting this morning that AOIFF will graduate from the TSX.v to the TSX big board at the end of this week with an additional listing upgrade on the corresponding Swedish / European exchange expected to occur in mid-May

das könnte dem Kurs helfen, wenns stimmt

This likely contributed to brokerages such as BMO and HSBC starting to recommend AOI in the last few weeks. Many large investment companies will not recommend companies trading on junior exchanges. Great to see AOI finally getting recognized by even conservative brokerages. I think this trend will continue once AOI is actually trading on the TSX and the big board in Sweden

um die Wartezeit bis zum reich werden mit AOI abzukürzen und um zu zeigen dass AOI bis jetzt eine Glückspilzfirma ist folgender Text aus dem World Oil (3/2014), das keine Finanzzeitschrift ist:

HC (hydrocarbon) exploration in Kenya dates back to the 1950s, with the first exploration wells beeing drilled in the 1960s. Over the course of the past 50 years a number of industry names BP, CNOOC, Exxon Mobil, Shell,Total, Woodside have tried their respective luck in Kenya. However, 33 wells drilled prior to 2012, none were deemed to be commercial, even though 16 showed potential for HC ... Rest kennen wir mit den Tullow/AOI Funden

Tullow, Africa Oil to submit Kenyan development plans in 2015

      Tue Apr 29, 2014 5:14pm IST

      * East Africa has become new frontier for oil discoveries

      * Kenya plans joint pipeline with Uganda, South Sudan

      By George Obulutsa

NAIROBI, April 24 (Reuters) - British explorer Tullow Oil and partner Africa Oil Corp aim to submit development plans to the Kenyan government late next year for their oil discovery in the northwest of the country, executives from the firms said on Tuesday.

Oil discoveries in Uganda and Kenya by Tullow Oil and gas deposits found off Tanzania and Mozambique have turned east Africa into a frontier for hydrocarbon exploration.

In an update in January, Tullow and Africa Oil doubled the estimate of their discoveries in Kenya's South Lokichar basin to 600 million barrels.

Since then Tullow has said the Kenyan government has become more focused on early development of Kenya's first oil discovery and project approval is expected in 2015 or 2016.

Tullow said it plans extensive appraisal drilling and testing this year and next.

"We are expecting to submit our field development plans to the government in the fourth quarter of 2015," Robin Sutherland, Tullow Oil's exploration manager for sub-Saharan Africa, told an oil and gas conference in Nairobi.

Discussions were under way on who will lead the development of a pipeline to transport the crude oil to Lamu on the Kenyan coast, he said.

Kenya's plans for oil production have moved fast since Tullow and Africa Oil's discovery of the South Lokichar basin was announced in March 2012.

In contrast, neighbouring Uganda struck hydrocarbon deposits in the Albertine rift basin in 2006 but commercial production has been delayed due to wrangling with oil firms over Uganda's plans for a refinery and other factors and is not expected until 2016 at the earliest. The oil reserves are estimated at 3.5 billion barrels.

In a speech read on his behalf at the conference, Kenya's Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir said the government was in the process of soliciting expressions of interest for the pipeline in three segments.

The three sections will be from Hoima in Uganda, linking to Lokichar, from South Sudan to Lokichar, and from Lokichar to Lamu, he said.

James Phillips, vice president for business development at Africa Oil Corporation, said the discoveries in the Lokichar Basin so far had already met the minimum amount of oil required for commercial development, and they were confident the figures would rise further.

"Commercial threshold resources have been exceeded in the South Lokichar Basin. We know we have exceeded the commercial threshold and that it is going to get higher and higher," he said. (Editing by James Macharia and Susan Fenton)

Kenya: Tullow Exploration Off to Bad Start
By Antony Langat, 25 April 2014

Nairobi — TULLOW Oil expressed "disappointment" after its exploration exercise failed to find commercially viable oil in two of its on-shore wells in Northern Kenya.

In a statement, Tullow said that there were "two relatively small but nonetheless disappointing Kenya well results."

The company named the two wells that impaired their search as Emong and Etuko.

Tullow Oil however was optimistic about another well, Ekales well whose test results, according to Tullow, provided additional reassurance over the more than 600mb of oil already found in Kenya.

The company added that the disappointing results did not negatively affect the search.

"Crucially, these results do not negatively affect the more than 600mbo already found, where stakeholder discussions for commercialization are ongoing," read a Tullow statement.

The two "disappointing" wells are in South Lokichar and are the first such results for Tullow Oil.

More than a week ago, another company, Pancontinental Oil and Gas announced the completion of exploration off-shore at Sunbird-1 well in Lamu where it intercepted a hydrocarbon zone.

It stated that analyses of samples that it recovered are ongoing in order to make a statement regarding its commercial viability.

      Fingers crossed ;)
