Multifaceted Agreement Broadens Existing Relationship; First Data to Provide Person-to-Person Payment Technology and Transaction Services Over Multiple Excite@Home Web Properties
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. and ATLANTA, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Excite@Home (Nasdaq: ATHM - news), the leader in broadband, and First Data Corp. (NYSE: FDC - news), a leader in electronic commerce and payment services, today announced they have greatly expanded their marketing and e-commerce relationship to provide millions of consumers with transaction capabilities across various Excite@Home web properties. First Data will become the preferred provider of Internet payment solutions for several of Excite@Home`s consumer services. Excite@Home will promote First Data`s person-to-person (P2P) Internet payment service to consumers and will leverage First Data`s expertise to power transaction processing within existing and emerging Excite@Home consumer services.

Specifically, Excite@Home will incorporate First Data`s recently announced Western Union® MoneyZap service as its preferred P2P Internet payment service, enabling consumers to directly transact with each other by sending and receiving payments electronically. The Western Union MoneyZap P2P Internet payment service also will be promoted on Excite@Home services such as Excite Classifieds(SM), and in a promotional program with the Excite@Home property Bluemountain.com(SM). In addition to the Web properties, Excite@Home will integrate First Data`s payment solutions within its interactive TV services, to help power commerce in the set-top box environment.

Excite@Home will deliver technology and professional services to First Data as an application services provider (ASP). The ASP project will add functionality to First Data`s SurePay® payment gateway, to support leading-edge business-to-business Internet payment solutions and other services.
