Metabox - Beispiel der Verbreitung - 500 Beiträge pro Seite

Ich möchte hier darauf hinweisen wie die Zukunft aussehen mag. Ich habe 6 Jahre in Deutschland studiert und weiss, wie lange die Deutschen brauchen um neue Technologien des Internets zu akzeptieren. So kannte ich diese bis jetzt immer 2-3 Jahre zuvor aus meinem Heimatland, Island bevor sie in Deutschland allgemein bekannt waren. Als ich z.B. mit meinem Studium anfing wusste in Deutschland keiner was eine Email war, jedoch hatten alle meine Freunde in Island eine. Ich musste dann eine Unterschrift von meinem Professor persönlich bekommen, um einen Zugang möglich zu machen.
Wo jetzt kontrovers ueber Metabox und die Akzpetanz solcher STB diskutiert wird wollte ich nur ein Beispiel aus meiner Heimat geben. Gerade wird JEDER Haushalt in unserer Hauptstadt, Reykjavik, an ein 100 MB Breitband-Kabelnetz verbunden. Das sind etwa 50.000 Haushalte. Natuerlich laufen auch schon Verhandlungen mit verschiedenen Anbietern verschiedener Dienste wie iaTV und Fernstudium um etwas zu nennen. So denke ich wird jeder Haushalt in Reykjavik in etwa 2-3 Jahren diese Dienste taeglich benutzen und nach meiner frueheren Erfahrung wird es in Deutschland in 4-6 Jahren aehnlich sein.

Hallo islandia!
Ich danke Dir für Deine Darstellung, die im übrigen ganz meiner Meinung entspricht. Die Deutschen sind in vielerlei Hinsicht sehr träge und rückständig. Positiv formuliert könnte man natürlich auch sagen, sie sind konservativ, traditionsbewußt.
Doch wie auch immer man es umschreibt, es führt dazu, dass manches zu spät erkannt wird und Trends verschlafen werden.

Islandia - einige Fragen.

Gibt es in Reykjavik mehrere Firmen die das Kabel betreiben - oder nur eine ??
Gibt es mehrere telefongesellschaften ? Und wenn ja welche ??

Ich frage nicht ohne Hintergrund - immerhin wird Island auch bei Inter-nordic genannt.

@Oliver H.: In Island wird es sogar noch schwieriger als hierzulande sein, die Metaboxen an den Mann zu bringen. Die Consumenten in Island sind auch nicht viel anders als in Deutschland. Der Anteil Haushalte mit PC ist in Skandinavien sogar wesentlich höher als in Deutschland.









Iceland to get fiber to the home

Icelandic operator Lina.Net has signed up Ericsson to provide a
fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network in Reykjavik, in a contract
worth 120 million Swedish Krona ($13.5 million).
The network, which will target residential customers, will
provide speeds of up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps), enabling
services such as digital TV, video on demand, always-on Internet
access and home shopping, the companies said.

Ericsson will supply its Ribbonet optical fiber network. The
companies said the network will feed one fiber pair to each
subscriber, using aerial or buried cables. Fiber ribbon
technology, including fiber ribbon cabling, will be used
throughout.


Lina.Net, which was set up by the Reykjavik Energy Company a
year ago, operates a backbone network in Iceland with
connections to Europe and the U.S.
Last month, Fastweb, a joint venture between e.Biscom and
Milanese utility AEM, announced plans to deploy fiber to the
home cable networks throughout Italy, at a flat fee of 50 euros
per month.

Eine kleine heisse Spekulation
über MBX, wenn es denn erlaubt sein sollte:




Leute, mir wird immer bewusster, welch heisses Eisen MBX ist.

Einige spekulative, aber doch wahrscheinliche Spekulationen bzgl. MBX:

- MBX Sitz in Hildesheim

- MBX unterschreibt LOI mit Inter-Nordic, um auch nach Island STB zu liefern.

- Ericsson hat Standort in Hildesheim und baut Breitbandnetz in Island für
iaTV.

- Domeyer war bei Ericsson.


Kribbelts euch auch so wie mir??
Frage: Koennte vielleicht nicht Ericsson ein Unternehmen bei Inter-Nordi sein, zumal
diese Spekulation schon mehrfach geäussert wurde?



Ich krieg langsam richtig erfurcht vor diesen Gedankengängen..

breaking contract on delivery of "Fiber To The Home" in Reykjavik worth SEK
120 million - one of the most extensive "Fiber To The Home" contracts to date.
