Otis Wins Contract for High-Speed Elevators in Hong Kongs Tallest Building

Hong Kong (ots-PRNewswire) - Otis Elevator Company announced today
that it has been awarded a contract to supply and install 67
elevators in what will be Hong Kong`s tallest building, the 88-story
North East Tower of Hong Kong Station Development. Otis is a
subsidiary of United Technologies (NYSE: UTX).

The contract calls for a total of 67 units in the North East Tower
of Hong Kong Station Development. Otis will install 18 of its newest
high-speed, high-rise Skyway(TM) elevator systems, fourteen of which
will be double-deck elevators, operating at a speed of eight meters
per second or 1,600 feet per minute. Skyway is the world`s fastest AC
gearless elevator system with the largest load capacity and the
world`s first flexible double-deck elevator. Installation will begin
in August 2001 and the lower thirty-five floors of the tower will be
open to the public in the summer of 2002. The North East Tower is
expected to be complete by the spring of 2003.

"Otis equipment moves people in more than 50 per cent of the
world`s tallest buildings, and the development of Skyway is
indicative of our commitment to maintaining our leadership in the
high-rise elevator market," said Stephen Page, Otis president and
chief executive officer. "This new phase of construction at Hong Kong
Station is evidence of a resurgence in landmark building projects
which is occurring in northern Asia."

The North East Tower will provide 181,301 square meters of office
space and is located directly above the Hong Kong Station of the
Airport Railway. The project was developed by MTR Corporation and
Central Waterfront Property Development Limited, a consortium
comprising Sun Hung Kai Properties, Henderson Land Development, the
Hong Kong and China Gas and Sun Chung. It is a major part of Phase
Two of the International Financial Centre complex.

"The installation at Hong Kong Station demonstrates strong
confidence in our reputation for quality products and innovation,"
said Arthur Chau, Otis Hong Kong managing director. "We`re extremely
pleased to be in Hong Kong`s newest landmark building."

Otis Elevator Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of United
Technologies Corporation, is the world`s largest company in the

Ich weiß nicht was das soll, aber Otis ist nicht gleich OTI. Damit gehört der Thread nicht ins Neuer Markt Forum.

      @stopbuy,

du verwechselst hier die Personen- und Lasten-Aufzugsfirma OTIS mit dem SmartCard Unternehmen OTI.
