Hi Folks,

+++++++++++++++++++++++++
As foreshadowed in the Managing Director`s Report in the 2000 Annual
Report and the Chairman`s address at the Annual General Meeting on 30
November 2000, there has been a continuing deterioration in the
market value of the investment portfolio of the Company.
As the Directors do not envisage any material improvement in the
foreseeable future, the Company announces that it has written down
the value of its investment portfolio by $3,600,000, to $700,000 as
at 31 December 2000. The write down exceeds the actual deterioration
in value to 31 December 2000 as the Directors have adopted a
conservative approach given the share market sectors in which the
portfolio is predominantly invested continue to perform badly.
The Directors confirm that the rationalisation of the investment
portfolio is continuing given the
non-core nature of this activity.
This also follows the course identified in the Chairman`s address on
30 November 2000.

Letztlich interessiert, was im operativen Geschäft läuft.

Grob hochgerechnet:
Zahl der Aktien: 38 Mio.
Net Tangible Assets: 0,46 AUD / Aktie, dh. 18 Mio AUD.
altlastenabschreibung: 3.6 Mio AUD, d.h. NTA danach ca. 14.6 Mio. AUD

Mr Garry Crole has today tendered his resignation as Managing
Director of Deakin Financial Services Group Limited.
As an interim measure, the Board of Directors has appointed Mr Peter
Grant as Acting Chief Executive Officer. Mr Grant has been working
with the Deakin Group as a consultant and has had a successful career
in the insurance and financial services sector. Mr Grant was formerly
a director of Marsh Pty Ltd and Managing Director of Hannan Group Pty
Ltd.
Mr Crole has worked tirelessly at building the Company`s financial
services distribution capabilities and will be remaining with Deakin
in a senior marketing role.

Was haltet ihr davon??

Hi Everyone,
I feel the recent announcements from my experience sounded extremely negative but usually are low points in the share price.
1.DKN slashes investments value
This removes all uncertainty in investment value and at the same time lets investors know that DKN is purely a financial services company.
2.Gary Croele resigns.
Gary has stepped down to pursue the thing he is good at,increasing the revenue of DKN through financial advisors, through hands on contact with them and allowing others to look after the many facets of running a public company. He was honest enough to realise where his talents lie and at the same time he has built other experienced and successful people around him.
If you all did not panic and sell out when you read these announcements then you have overcome a severe test or to say it another way"dont quit when the night is darkest for it is just a while till dawn".

@Deakin-Anhänger:
