Stockinvestors.net is initiating coverage on Adriana Resources Inc. ("Adriana") - [TSXV:ADI] at a price of $0.64 cdn. The company recently announced that it has entered into a Mineral Property Option Agreement with Akkerman Exploration B.V. to earn a 70% interest in the Mustavaara Iron-Titanium- Vanadium open pit mine located in Finland.
The Mustavaara deposit was discovered in 1957. The mine was in operation during the 1970s and the 1980s by Rautaruukki Oy and was the largest producer of vanadium pentoxide in Western Europe, accounting for some 10% of the global supply of vanadium. Annual production averaged 1.4 million tonnes of ore producing up to 240,000 tonnes of magnetite concentrate and 3,000 tonnes of vanadium pentoxide.
The company has two other areas of note; The Mackenzie Igneous Event Project (MIE) and the Lac Otelnuk Project. With regard to the MIE this event deposited a huge lava volume an estimated 5 to 10 million cubic kilometres across Northern Canada. The economic potential of this project was first recognized in the 1950s by Inco Limited, who were actively exploring for Nickel. Since then, more than $20 million has been expended on the Muskox Intrusion - the main target area, and the largest known magma channel for the Mackenzie Igneous Event. This long intrusion is a subvolcanic chamber which acted as a magma conduit. Magma chambers and channels provide excellent locations to concentrate copper, nickel and PGEs.
The MIE project is also significant in that the company has identified the potential for stataform and structurally controlled uranium mineralization in the Hornby Bay Basin. Adriana has formed the Bear Valley Uranium Project on this site which covers some 350 square kilometers. This site is in development beside the joint venture with UNOR Inc in the UNAD Uranium Joint Venture, which is a 50/50 project between the two companies.
High-grade occurrences of copper, nickel and PGE have been sampled along both walls of the Muskox magma chamber, suggesting that metals have accumulated at the bottom of the chamber. However, this high priority target corridor has never been drilled on the MIE Properties. The project now covers more than 630 square kilometres and is comprised of two properties, McGregor Lake and All Night Lake, both located on the Muskox Intrusion.
The Lac Otelnuk Project lies within the Labrador Trough, one of the largest iron ore belts in the world. The belt contains world-class iron deposits that have been continuously mined since 1954. The 192-square-kilometre property was first explored in the early 1950s when a significant magnetite iron formation was mapped over a strike length of approximately 25 kilometres. Subsequent diamond drilling and surface sampling in the 1970s, which was largely limited to the upper iron formation unit, resulted in historic mineral resource estimates for two adjacent zones, the North and South. Magnetite occurs throughout this iron formation with the North and South zones largely uniform in continuity of grade and thickness.

The properties are located on the eastern edge of the Hornby Bay Basin, Nunavut, adjoining Adriana's Bear Valley and MIE Projects, and UNOR's Coppermine River Property. Habe am WE mal in ein paar sich wöchentlich mit Aktien beschäftigende Börsenmagazinen (.. die Namen derer erwähne ich aus werbetechnischen Gründen nicht..) geblättert - und interessantes zum Thema Uran, sowie zum vermutlich weiter steigenden Uranpreis gefunden - ebenso wie zum Thema des Weltmarktführers Kanada auf diesem Gebiet...
Nicht minder interessant war aber auch zudem, daß sämtliche genannten Magazine sich das Unternehmen CAMECO als den absoluten Weltmarktführer herausgepickt haben und über diesen berichten.
Dies scheint jedoch vor allem daran zu liegen, daß CAMECO seine Hauptmitbewerber RIO TINTO und AREVA deutlich auf die Ränge zwei und drei abgedrängt hat und inzwischen alleine 20% der Gesamtförderung des heißbegehrten Urans sein eigen nennen darf.
CAMECO ist also der unumstrittene Gigant auf diesem Gebiet - und wird sich diese Position auch vermutlich nicht mehr streitig machen lassen wollen - deshalb hat man sich ja auch schon am Nachbarn UNOR beteiligt (- nicht vergessen, UNOR betreibt seine Projekte gemeinsam mit ADRIANA......)
