      Aloha Leute,

Atico Drills 119 Meters of 6.9% Copper and 6.3 g/t Gold; Discovers New Massive Sulfide Body at El Roble Mine in Colombia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Jan 24, 2013 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Atico Mining Corporation CA:ATY -4.35% announces that ongoing underground drilling at its El Roble mine project in Colombia has discovered a significant new massive sulfide body at the north end of known mineralization, which now extends 360 meters along strike and 250 meters below level 2000, the lowest production level at the mine. The company also reports results of seven new diamond drill core holes (ATDHR-20 through ATDHR-26), which included 119 meters of 6.9% copper and 6.3 g/t gold.

Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO, commented, "Drilling continues to discover new and extend high-grade massive sulfide copper and gold bodies in the immediate vicinity of the El Roble mine. The discovery of a major new mineralized lens at the north end of the operating mine not only adds significantly to the mineralization, but also increases the potential to discover additional mineralization below and beyond the current mine limits. I am very encouraged by results to date, as El Roble presents a significant opportunity to quickly bring newly discovered resources to production using the existing mine and mill infrastructure."

      El Roble drilling highlights include:

      Underground Drilling Program

The ongoing underground drilling program is adding high-grade copper-gold massive sulfide mineralization lateral to and below El Roble mine workings. Atico's latest drill results have extended the mineralization 130 meters to the north of the recently discovered Goliath body and at least 250 meters below the 2000 meter level, the lowest production level at El Roble. New mineralized drill intercepts in holes ATDHR-23, ATDHR-24 and ATDHR-26 are interpreted as comprising two separate massive sulfide bodies, Aquiles and Zeus. Atico's interpretation of these bodies is based on mineralized intercepts, characteristics of the massive sulfide mineralization, known strike and dip of the host black chert unit and structural controls of mineralization at the El Roble mine. Textures and metal content in the mineralized lenses discovered to date are consistent with zoning patterns found in other VMS (volcanogenic massive sulfide) systems and suggest that further mineralization remains to be discovered in the near mine vicinity.

      Zeus Massive Sulfide Body

Zeus is located at the northern extremity of the 360 meter strike of the mineralized system at the El Roble mine at a depth of 350 to 450 meters below the surface. This body has been intersected in one drill hole (ATDHR-26), which encountered 119 meters of high-grade mineralization, and has the potential to be as large as the mined-out Main Body, which measured 100 meters down dip by 80 meters along strike by 45 meters thick and produced over 700,000 tonnes of ore. Diamond drill core hole ATHDR-27 has intersected massive sulfide mineralization approximately 30 meters to the north along strike, which is interpreted as part of Zeus. Assays for this intercept are pending.

The mineralization is characterized by mound massive sulfide and breccia textures. Based on the sulfide mineral zoning it is possible that the Aquiles body may be connected to Zeus.

      Aquiles Massive Sulfide Body

Aquiles is defined by drill holes ATDHR-23 and ATDHR-24 and is located in the hanging wall less than 30 meters above Zeus at a depth of 400 meters. Aquiles is characterized by pyritic, massive and semi-massive mineralization with somewhat lower copper content but higher gold, with some intervals as high as 4.5 meters of 8.13 g/t Au (ATDHR-24 from 196.5 to 201.0m). This body is presently interpreted as being separate from Zeus, however, it may be connected in that the mineralogy, textures and grades are very similar to the upper portions of the Zeus mineralization.

      Development of Exploration Concepts

The continuing discovery of massive sulfide bodies (Zeus, Maximus, Goliath, Aquiles, Orion, Apolo, Andromeda) has provided data which supports and enhances the current exploration model of the El Roble VMS system. Recognition of stockwork feeder mineralization in Orion, and in the footwall of Maximus and Goliath, shows that the feeder system has dimensions of at least 100 meters by 100 meters. Based on the geometry of all massive sulfide bodies and zoning patterns of VMS systems in general, there is potential to find as much or more mineralization below the 2000 meter level as was mined above that level. Textural and metal zoning supports this concept and the system appears to be open to additional mineralization to the north and south, as well as below the 1750 meter level. It also provides room for exploration in the footwall of the VMS system for additional feeder mineralization. Atico's next phase of underground drill will test these concepts.

      El Roble Property

The El Roble property is the site of an operating underground copper and gold mine with nominal capacity of 400 tonnes per day. Over the past 22 years the mine has processed 1.5 million tonnes of mineralized material at an average grade of 2.5% copper and estimated gold grade of 2.5 g/t. Copper and gold mineralization at El Roble occurs as volcanogenic massive sulfide ("VMS") lenses. Exploration over the past two years has defined a productive contact and an enclosing package of host rocks extending for a distance of 10 kilometers across the property. This entire strike length is marked by VMS mineralization occurrence indicators.

The Company is valued at $50 million, they have just hit one of the best intercepts anyone has seen in the last couple years, and they have $10.5 million which will be used to turn that deposit into swiss cheese over the next year.

We'll have drill results every 2-3 weeks likely.

If I was looking for something to short, it wouldn't be something valued this cheaply, this cashed up, that is hitting these kinds of drill results.

Even if you ignore the most recent drill result tyhat sent the stock spiking, the other results are very promising for a very profitable little mine.

      Goliath gemäß news mind. 65*55*25m --> 240.000t
      längengewogene Durchschnittsgrade Gold 1,75 g Kupfer 7,06%
ca 13k Unzen Gold 96k Unzen Goldäquivalent
      Löcher 1 12 20

      Maximus gemäß news 86*45*40m -->415.000t
      längengewogene Durchschnittsgrade Gold 3,04 g Kupfer 5,01%

      Zeus 19,5 Mio lbs
      Goliath 37,5 Mio lbs
      Maximus 47 Mio lbs

      Zusammen also 104 Mio lbs,

      Kupferäquivalent:

      Zeus 32 Mio lbs
      Goliath 44 Mio lbs
      Maximus 69 Mio lbs

      Zusammen also 145 Mio lbs,

If Atico was a straight old exploraton play I probably wouldn't have purchased shares, but what got me excited about this play was the fact that they can buy a 90% interest in an operating mine. We need to consider that:

      - permitting a mine takes a long time, whereas El Roble has its permits in place

      - building a tailings facility, constructing a ramp, installation of a mill, etc., would probably cost far in excess of the $14 million Atico can buy in for. I can't think of a single junior that could get their deposit up and running at a cost of $14 million. At the bare minimum they are looking at $20 - $30 million in capital and they haev to have the ore milled at a third party site, which adds significant operating costs.

      - G+A and working capital amounts necessary to build a mine are probably somewhere in the range of $3 - $5 million a year, and it would probably take at least a year and a half to two years to get a feasibility study, PFS, etc., completed... savings of $6 - $10 million

The only thing ATY management has to concern themselves with is finding more ore. Not a lot of juniors are in this position.

The only issue with ATY that I can foresee is the fact that some of the mining equipment and the mill may require refurbishments. That said, considering the mill is currently operational, I would think that it is not in too bad of shape. Either way, refurbishing mining equipment and a mill I would venture to guess is a lot cheaper than buying it new. They are kind of in a similar situation as Flinders Resources... yes it may cost them $20 - $30 million to refurbish everything, but the cost of rebuilding that infrastructure and equipment in todays dollars would be $80 - $100 million.

Don't underestimate the value of the infrastructure and equipment in place, imho that is why this Company should be trading closer to $2.00 / share.

Atico Reports Union Negotiations @El Roble Mine, Colombia; Drilling Stopped, Exploration Continues - Apr 15, 2013
      www.aticomining.com/i/pdf/news/ATYNRApril152013.pdf

"VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - April 15, 2013) - Atico Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE:ATY)(PINKSHEETS:ATCMF) reports that Minera El Roble (MINER), current operator of the mine, is engaged in its annual negotiations with the worker's union. As part of this on-going process, the worker´s union has called for a strike. Atico has temporarily halted drilling within the premises of the mine. The company's employees are not engaged in this labor disruption and continue to prioritize and prepare drill targets while conducting fieldwork in other areas of the 6,679 hectare property.

Atico "plans" to resume underground and surface drilling immediately following the resumption of mining operations at El Roble mine. Negotiations between MINER and the union, which represents approximately 60% of the mine's workforce, are ongoing as both parties work to bring a swift and satisfactory resolution to the strike.

Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO of Atico Mining, commented, "We are optimistic that current negotiations will lead to a satisfactory settlement for both Minera El Roble and its unionized workers. In the past, these negotiations have lasted between two and six weeks."

Fernando E. Ganoza continued, "Our exploration teams "are ready to resume drilling as soon as the negotiation process comes to an end". The district exploration program continues with geochemistry and geology in three newly identified drill targets within El Roble property."

      The El Roble Property

The El Roble property is the site of an operating underground copper and gold mine with nominal capacity of 400 tonnes per day. Over the past 22 years the mine has processed 1.5 million tonnes of ore at an average grade of 2.5% copper and an estimated 2.5 g/t gold. Copper and gold mineralization at El Roble occurs as volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) lenses. Exploration over the past two years has defined a productive contact and an enclosing package of host rocks that extend 10 kilometers across the property. The entire strike length is marked by VMS mineralization occurrence indicators.

Atico Reports 1.58 Mt at 4.45% Cu and 3.17 g/t Au Inferred Mineral Resources at El Roble Mine, Colombia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Jun 26, 2013 (Marketwired via COMTEX) -- Atico Mining Corporation CA:ATY +9.43% (pinksheets:ATCMF) is pleased to announce that an initial NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate for its El Roble project has established an inferred mineral resource of 1.58 million tonnes at 4.45% Cu and 3.17 g/t Au using a cut-off grade of 0.72% Cu Eq. All of these announced resources occur at depth below the existing El Roble mine workings. In the coming months, Atico will continue to further drill test the extensions of the defined inferred mineral resources at depth and strike, as well as other prospective areas.

Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO, commented: "We are extremely pleased with the outcome of our initial mineral resource estimate for El Roble mine. The grades continue to be remarkable at depth and the volume is very encouraging given the deposit is still open at depth and along strike." Mr. Ganoza added, "The resource estimate, along with the recently completed engineering studies and assessment of current operations, support Atico's plan to exercise the option agreement this year and quickly bring newly discovered resources into production using the existing operating mine and mill infrastructure."

The resource estimate was prepared in accordance with the definitions in the Canadian National Instrument 43-101 and based on data from 30 drill holes totaling 6,084 meters completed by Atico, during 2012 and up to February 20, 2013. An additional 33 drill holes totaling 1,784 meters completed by Minera El Roble (MINER), current operator of the mine and independently reviewed, logged and sampled by Atico were also included. Mr. Michael Lechner and Mr. Donald Earnest have acted as independent qualified persons, as defined by the Canadian National Instrument 43-101 and have reviewed and approved the resource estimate.

      Resource Estimate Methodology

Data obtained from the Atico diamond drill program were used to construct three-dimensional geometric wireframes representing the massive sulfide zones extending below the 2000 level in the El Roble mine. These zones (named Maximus, Goliath, Apolo, Andromeda, Orion, Transformador, Zeus, Aquiles, and Ares) were used to constrain the estimation of an NI 43-101 compliant inferred resource at El Roble mine. Copper, gold, silver, lead, zinc and cobalt grades were estimated for 5m x 5m x 5m blocks within the wireframes. Prior to estimation of the block grades, copper grades were capped at 20% Cu, gold was capped at 20g/t Au and silver was capped at 100g/t Ag. A three-pass inverse distance cubed (1/d3) method was used for the block grade estimates, along a trend plane having an azimuth of 320 degrees and a minus 75-degree dip to the north. The first pass used search distances along strike and down dip of 25m, and 5m perpendicular to the trend plane. The second pass used search distances along strike and down dip of 75m, and 10m perpendicular to the trend plane. The third pass used search distances along strike and down dip of 150m, and 20m perpendicular to the trend plane. The first pass required a minimum of one composite and allowed a maximum of three composites, with no more than one composite per drill hole. The second pass required a minimum of three composites and allowed a maximum of six composites, with a limit of two composites per drill hole, while the third pass required a minimum of three composites, a maximum of eight composites allowed and a limit of two composites per drill hole. The first pass resulted in grade estimates for 56 percent of the blocks. The second pass resulted in 26 percent of the blocks receiving grade estimates, while the third pass resulted in grade estimates for the remaining 18 percent of the blocks.

In the opinion of Atico and its Qualified Persons, the methodology used is appropriate and provides a reasonable estimate of the copper and gold content of inferred mineral resources for the El Roble deposit that conform to NI 43-101 guidelines. The wireframes interpreted by Atico as part of the estimation process provide an excellent guide for the planned in-fill drilling and other work required to estimate measured and indicated mineral resources and an eventual mineral reserve estimate.

A NI 43-101 technical report will be filed on www.sedar.com and posted on the company's website within 45 days of this news release.

El Roble drill program and exploration update

On-going underground drilling at El Roble mine is currently focused on further defining the interpreted boundaries of the Maximus and Goliath massive sulfide bodies, which are considered primary targets for mining operations below the 2000 level given their close proximity to current mine workings. Nine drill holes have been planned for this purpose and are scheduled to be completed in early July. The underground program will continue at the south end of the known mineralized strike length and below the 2000 level, with the goal of discovering additional massive sulfide bodies.

Drilling at El Roble mine was interrupted in April (see news releases dated April 15, 2013 and April 23, 2013) with news flow further delayed in May due to consecutive failure of holes 31a, 31b and 32 caused by ground conditions. The company expects the drilling results news flow will resume in early July.

The company recently completed 1,329 meters of drilling in 4 drill holes at the Archie area. Drill results have confirmed strong continuity of the favorable black chert formation to the north of El Roble mine with presence of chalcopyrite and pyrite stringers up to 5 cm in length, but massive sulphide mineralization was not intercepted. The company is evaluating the results from the Archie area and conducting additional interpretation of the zone. The drill program at Archie will be revised as a result of the enhanced understanding of the area.

Target preparation work has been completed at Santa Anita anomaly with 8 drill targets defined within this area. Work in the San Lorenzo prospective target has begun and includes in-fill geochemical sampling, structural interpretation, detailed geological mapping and interpretation of geophysical anomalies. In addition, surface soil and rock geochemistry and geology work continues in newly identified as well as known target areas to better understand and prioritize drilling targets.

      El Roble operation assessment update

In the first quarter of 2013, the company initiated a comprehensive assessment of the El Roble mine operation through technical and engineering studies aimed at gaining a thorough understanding of the existing mining operation. Studies produced by engineering firms and independent consultants have assessed the potential to scale up the mill and processing facilities, the mine's design and optimization, the tailings dam expansion and the operation's environmental standards.

As part of this assessment, the company has validated the location and upgraded the design of a new adit at the 1886 level, 114 meters below current mine workings. The adit will provide access to new resources and allow building of an underground drill platform from which diamond drilling can intercept the newly discovered massive sulphide bodies perpendicular to their strike direction, which the company believes is necessary to estimate measured and indicated resources and, eventually, a mineral reserve estimate.

      Monitoring risks in Colombia - TT/SH - Aug 30, 2013

      - D. Deadlock -
      www.stockhouse.com/opinion/ticker-trax/insights/2013/08/30/m…

"... Civil Unrest in Colombia & Dropping Coverage of Suroco

The past couple years we have seen civil unrest across many regions of South America and that has consisted of protests and road blockages. In Colombia (until now) this type of activity has been low profile and isolated to certain rural regions – fueled by poverty stricken farmers.

Unfortunately that “low profile” is changing in Colombia and it has the “potential” to pose risks to micro and small cap investors who have been flocking to resource rich Colombia the past few years. Other than Suroco (which I have commented on below) I have not seen significant disruption to oil production or the miners (including exploration plays).

The primary “risk” is that funds and institutional investors back away from investing in the country if they feel there is a risk to assets, resources, or personnel. We have seen this happen in many countries the past two years and if these problems escalate, Colombia may be no different. Retail investors may also step to the sideline until problems are resolved. This hurts the volume of buy orders and increases overall price volatility.

For now this is only a situation to closely monitor (if you own Colombia exploration or production plays). During the month of September this may blow over if the government commits to working closer with farmers and certain trade unions. The investment risk is totally dependent upon how the government responds this month.

      The Current Situation

Friday Colombia's President ordered troops to patrol the capital after two people died in riots. Unlike previous protests that involved small numbers of farmers, unions, and rural miners, Thursday saw almost 30,000 people including thousands of university students.

The President has stated that he has 50,000 military troops available to support the police along highways and within the cities. A large part of the problem has been the disruption of meat, produce, and grains from the farming community. Truckers and farmers are demanding lower fuel and fertilizer prices.

The problems in Colombia are also being fueled by leftist militants who see this as an opportunity to blend into the crowds and encourage civil unrest - possibly even funding through their access to gem mines and precious metals. ..."

Atico Updates Activities in Preparation for Operating the El Roble Mine - Nov 7, 2013
      http://aticomining.mwnewsroom.com/press-releases/atico-updat…

"VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Nov. 7, 2013) - Atico Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE:ATY)(PINKSHEETS:ATCMF) is pleased to report that since the exercise of the option agreement on El Roble property (September 25th news release) the company has successfully advanced the transition phase with the current owners and operators of the mine to close the transaction on November 22nd. In preparation of assuming control and operation of the mine, Atico has developed an integration plan in conjunction with the current operators and has incorporated staff at the project to support the optimization and scale up plans.

"The transition phase is proceeding according to schedule and we expect to conclude the exercise of the option agreement and takeover the existing operation as planned on November 22nd," commented Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO "I thank all the current employees of the El Roble mine, and our staff for their hard work in preparing the integrating of our teams and plans. I am confident the smooth and efficient transition will carry through to integration."

Atico will retain all of the current employees, while adding experienced staff to advance its mining plans and improve mine safety and environmental standards. The immediate focus for underground operations is the new 1880 level adit, which will be the main extraction point for newly discovered resources. The company's plans for the operation also include the optimization and scale-up of the mill and processing facility along with construction of a new tailings dam.

      El Roble Mine

The El Roble property is the site of an operating underground copper and gold mine with a nominal capacity of 400 tonnes per day. Over the past 22 years the mine has processed 1.5 million tonnes of ore at an average head grade of 2.5% copper and an estimated 2.5 g/t gold. Copper and gold mineralization at El Roble occurs as volcanogenic massive sulfide ("VMS") lenses.

In January 28, 2011 Atico signed an option agreement to acquire 90% of the shares of MINER and has since been aggressively exploring the El Roble mine and surrounding claims. To date, Atico has completed 11,740 meters of diamond drilling on the property and has identified 15 prospective targets for VMS deposits in the 6,679 hectares surrounding the mine.

As a result of this exploration program the Company has discovered high grade copper and gold mineralization below the 2000 level, the lowest production level at the El Roble mine, and has established a National Instrument 43-101 compliant inferred mineral resource of 1.58 million tonnes at 4.45 % Cu and 3.17 g/t Au using a cut-off grade of 0.72 % Cu Eq. Mineralization is open at depth and along strike and the company will further test the limits of the resource.

On the larger land package the Company has identified a prospective stratigraphic contact between volcanic rocks and black and grey cherts that has been traced by Atico geologists for ten kilometers across the El Roble Project area. This contact has been determined to be an important control on VMS mineralization on which Atico has identified 15 prospective target areas for VMS type mineralization occurrence, which is the focus of the surface drill program at El Roble.

Atico Completes Acquisition of Producing Copper-Gold Mine +Closes US$8.000.000 Debt Facility - Nov 22, 2013
      http://aticomining.mwnewsroom.com/press-releases/atico-compl…

"VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Nov. 22, 2013) - Atico Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE: ATY)(PINKSHEETS:ATCMF) has successfully completed the acquisition of 90% of Minera El Roble (MINER), the owner of El Roble mine and surrounding claims located in Carmen de Atrato, Colombia. As operator of the high grade underground copper-gold mine, Atico will immediately embark on a program to improve operational efficiency and scale-up production of the El Roble mine.

"The El Roble Mine acquisition marks our transition into a producing mining company and is an important milestone in our strategy to become a mid-tier copper-gold producer in Latin America," commented Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO. "We see significant upside potential for the mine and the project's large land package that we plan to aggressively pursue in the coming year."

The Company also successfully closed on November 22, 2013 a US$8 million senior secured debt financing facility with Trafigura Pte. Ltd., as announced on September 17, 2013.

      Mine scale-up plans

Atico will continue to operate El Roble at approximately 320 tonnes per day, while completing underground developments to access the recently discovered resources and the plans to scale-up production. The emphasis during this phase will be on improving safety and environmental standards and training of personnel.

The Company has started driving a new adit on level 1880. The adit will be 830 meters long and is expected to be the main extraction point for the recently established mineral resource. The Company anticipates completion of the new adit by the second quarter of 2014.

A new tailings dam is an essential component of the El Roble mine plan. The Company is pleased to announce that it has received environmental permits for a new tailings dam and has begun construction. Completion is expected for the second quarter of 2014.

Upgrades to the mill and processing facility to scale up to nominal capacity of 650 tonnes per day, is expected to be completed prior to the beginning of mining operations in the newly discovered resources. The Company anticipates completion of this upgrade by the third quarter of 2014 with the production ramp up concluding in the fourth quarter of 2014.

      Exploration update

The company reports three underground drill holes (ATDHR-42 through ATDHR-44) from the 2000 level have been completed at El Roble mine to explore the southern part of the known mineralized strike length. Mineralization was not intercepted and the geological information gathered is being assessed and incorporated into the exploration program for the mine.

      El Roble Property

The El Roble property is the site of an operating underground high grade copper and gold mine with a nominal capacity of 400 tonnes per day. Over the past 22 years the mine has processed 1.5 million tonnes of ore at an average head grade of 2.5% copper and an estimated 2.5 g/t gold. Copper and gold mineralization at El Roble occurs as volcanogenic massive sulfide lenses.

Since acquiring the option on the El Roble Property in early 2011, Atico has completed 11,740 meters of drilling, a district-scale mapping program of the 6,679-hectare property and, most recently, a comprehensive assessment of the potential to increase the production and efficiency of the El Roble Mine.

Drilling by the Company led to the discovery of high-grade, copper-and-gold mineralization below the current working levels of the mine. Within this mineralization, the Company has established a National Instrument 43-101 compliant inferred mineral resource of 1.58 million tonnes at 4.45 % copper and 3.17 g/t gold, using a cut-off grade of 0.72 % copper equivalent. The mineralization is open at depth and along strike.

Atico Mining Corporation: Scale-Up of El Roble Mine Operations "Advancing on Schedule" - Jan 16, 2014
      http://aticomining.mwnewsroom.com/Files/a7/a7fa1fa6-f2b2-446…

"ANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Jan. 16, 2014) - Atico Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE:ATY)(PINKSHEETS:ATCMF) reports that the scale-up and modernization of its recently acquired El Roble copper-gold mine in Colombia are progressing on schedule. The company expects to be operating at full capacity by the fourth quarter of 2014.

"We are very pleased with the execution of the scale-up and modernization plan at the El Roble mine during this initial phase of the integration process, perhaps one of the most challenging," said Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO. "We are on track to deliver on our promises thanks to the efforts of our team and contractors on the ground."

      Current operations and integration

The El Roble mine continues to operate at approximately 320 tonnes per day processing ore mined from the higher levels of the mine. The Company expects to maintain the current throughput while completing access to and preparation for mining of high-grade ore from the 1880 level. During the scale-up and modernization phase, the Company is using existing infrastructure to train personnel, increase safety and environmental standards and generate cash flow.

The integration phase at El Roble mine is proceeding as expected. The Company has retained all of the previous operator's employees and added a team of staff and technicians, who are on site supporting and training the local workforce.

      Scale-up plans

Scale-up of the El Roble mill to 650 tonnes per day is on schedule to be completed in the third quarter, prior to the commencement of mining the new high-grade resources. All major equipment has been secured with delivery expected during the first quarter of 2014.

The new 5-meter by 5-meter adit at the 1880 level is advancing ahead of schedule. The Company now expects to complete the 830-meter adit in the first quarter of this year. Preparation of the Goliath and Maximus massive sulfide bodies will begin immediately after and is expected to continue through the second quarter.

A 60-meter access will be developed from the new adit to intercept the Goliath massive sulfide body at approximately the 1894 elevation (masl), where the resource estimate suggests mining activities will begin in a high-grade copper zone. An additional access of approximately 40 meters in length will be driven to the southwest to reach the Maximus massive sulfide body at the same elevation.

Mining of the new resources is expected to commence during the third quarter, while the ramp-up period to steady-state production is projected to extend into the fourth quarter.

Construction of the new tailings dam was delayed briefly in late 2013 because of heavy rains. The company has increased construction activities, taking advantage of the dry season that started in January, to complete the tailings dam as originally scheduled in the second quarter of 2014.

El Roble is an operating underground copper and gold mine with a nominal capacity of 400 tonnes per day. Over the past 22 years, the mine has processed 1.5 million tonnes of ore at an average head grade of 2.5% copper and an estimated 2.5 g/t gold. Copper and gold mineralization occurs as volcanogenic massive sulfide ("VMS") lenses.

Since entering into an option agreement in January 2011 to acquire 90% of El Roble, Atico has aggressively explored the mine and surrounding claims. The company has completed 11,740 meters of diamond drilling and identified numerous prospective targets for VMS deposits on the 6,679-hectare property. This exploration led to the discovery of high-grade copper and gold mineralization below the 2000 level, the lowest production level of the El Roble mine.

National Instrument 43-101 compliant inferred mineral resource are 1.58 million tonnes grading 4.45 % copper and 3.17 g/t gold, at a cut-off grade of 0.72 % copper equivalent. Mineralization is open at depth and along strike and the company plans to further test the limits of the resource.

On the larger land package, the company has identified a prospective stratigraphic contact between volcanic rocks and black and grey cherts that has been traced by Atico geologists for ten kilometers. This contact has been determined to be an important control on VMS mineralization on which Atico has identified 15 prospective target areas for VMS type mineralization occurrence, which is the focus of the surface drill program at El Roble.

Atico Drifts Along 44 Meters of 7.0% Cu +1.2g/t Au in Goliath - Mar 3, 2014
      www.marketwired.com/press-release/atico-drifts-along-44-mete…

"VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - March 3, 2014) - Atico Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE:ATY)(PINKSHEETS:ATCMF) is pleased to announce the new 5 by 5 meter adit at the 1880 level has been completed ahead of schedule and has crosscut the Goliath massive sulfide body perpendicular to its strike direction. Initial development results, along with underground sampling, confirm the inferred high copper and gold grades and increase the width of Goliath over the width reported in the inferred resource model at the intersection point.

      Highlights

      1880 level Crosscut

North wall: 14.0 meters of channel samples averaging 2.27% Cu, 1.25 g/t Au
South Wall: 21.9 meters of channel samples averaging 2.52% Cu, 2.18 g/t Au

      South East drift

Back: 44 meters of drift with 7.0% Cu, 1.2 g/t Au with average sample width of 4.3 meters and sample spacing along the drift every 4 meters

Note: All channel samples are perpendicular to the strike direction of mineralization

"We are very pleased to have reached the new high-grade ore ahead of schedule, achieving an important milestone in our optimization and scale-up plan for El Roble. We are gathering more information on the massive sulfide body and are very encouraged to have confirmed grades and increased the inferred width of Goliath at the intersection point," said Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO. "Thanks to the efforts of our team and contractors on the ground, we are on track to deliver on our promises."

      Goliath Massive Sulfide Body

The Goliath massive sulfide body is located near the center of the 360 meter strike length of the mineralized system at the El Roble. The crosscut intercepted Goliath at the 1894 level (masl), 100 meters below historic workings, increasing the width at the point of intersection to 19.0 meters from an estimated 17.0 meters, as reported in the El Roble NI 43-101 technical report of August 27, 2013. Continuous channel samples were taken along the north and south wall of the crosscut within VMS mineralization. Assay results are reported in table 1.

The Company is drifting within the Goliath massive sulfide body along strike to the South east. Channel samples were taken every 4 meters over a length of 44 meters along the drift (assay results reported in table 1). The entire drift is within the mineralized body, which has an average inferred width of 19 meters as reported in the 43-101 resource estimate. The company will initiate crosscuts to the East and West of the drift to continue to confirm the width of the massive sulphide body.

Underground stope preparation work for future production will provide additional information on the limits and geology of the mineralization of the Goliath body. This information will be enhanced by a drill program now under way, designed to intercept the mineralization above and below the crosscut level.

The Company also plans to access the Maximus massive sulfide body at the same elevation, which is expected to be encountered approximately 40 meters South West of Goliath.

      Scale-up plans

The El Roble mine continues to operate at approximately 320 tonnes per day processing ore from the upper levels of the mine. The Company expects that underground stope preparation in the Goliath and Maximus massive sulfide deposits will provide some high-grade ore prior to the start of full-scale stoping activities, which are planned for the third quarter of 2014.

As a part of the Company's integration process an on-site training program at the 1880 level is being performed by a team comprised of experienced operators and local miners. Other on-going activities key to the integration process include improving safety and environmental standards as well as upgrading supporting processes, all of which are proceeding according to schedule.

Scale-up of the El Roble mill to 650 tonnes per day is on schedule to be completed in the third quarter of 2014. The Company has secured all major equipment, with some components already on site and the remainder expected to be delivered during the first quarter of 2014.

Construction of the new tailings dam is expected to be completed as originally planned in the second quarter of 2014.

Atico Reports Consolidated Financial Results, for the 1st Quarter of `14 - May 29, 2014
      http://aticomining.mwnewsroom.com/press-releases/atico-repor…

"VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - May 29, 2014) - Atico Mining Corporation (the "Company" or "Atico") (TSX VENTURE:ATY)(PINKSHEETS:ATCMF) today announced its financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2014, posting income from mining operations of $539,870 and a net loss of $779,972, due to 2,516 tonnes of non-invoiced dry concentrate remaining in inventory at quarter end. Production for the quarter at Atico's El Roble mine totaled 1.4 million pounds of copper and 1,147 ounces of gold in concentrates at a cash cost(1) of $1.33 per equivalent payable pound of copper produced.

"During the first full quarter of operating the El Roble mine, copper and gold production exceeded our expectations as the operations team materially increased production from previous quarters," said Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO. "We are looking forward to a strong second quarter which will include revenue from our first full-size concentrate shipment."

      First Quarter Financial Highlights

      - The Company produced 2,735 tonnes of dry concentrate during the quarter with a metal content of 1.398 million pounds of copper and 1,147 ounces of gold.

      - Revenues of $2.04 million generated during the quarter from the shipping and provisional invoicing of 946.7 tonnes of dry concentrate containing 465,941 pounds of payable copper and 694 ounces of payable gold respectively.

      - At quarter end 2,515.7 tonnes of non-invoiced dry concentrate remained at the company's warehouses.

      - Income from mining operations of $539,870 for the quarter.

      - Net loss of $779,972 for the quarter primarily due to the sale and shipping of only a limited quantity of metals concentrate.

      - Average production costs(1) (before depreciation and amortization) for the quarter were $114.2 per tonne of processed ore.

      - Cash cost(1) per equivalent payable pound of copper produced was $1.33.

      First Quarter Operations Review

El Roble performed better than planned in the first quarter of 2014 with an increase in copper and gold production. The performance was driven by a combination of higher than budgeted throughput, head grade and metallurgical recovery.

      (1) These are alternative performance measures; please refer to "Non-GAAP Financial Measures" at the end of this release.

Cash cost(1) per tonne of processed ore was $114.2 and in line with company expectations. Cash cost(1) per payable pound of copper equivalent was $1.33. The company believes there is opportunity to improve the cash cost as the throughput increases in the subsequent quarters.

End of the line for Colombia's 'growth locomotive', Central banker says mining +energy boom has passed
      www.mining.com/end-of-the-line-for-colombias-growth-locomoti…

"Boom times in Colombia's mining and oil sectors, dubbed by the nation's president as a "locomotive" driving economic growth, have ended, Bloomberg reports.

"The economy’s dynamism in the future will depend on internal demand, and strategic investments in public works,” central bank co-director Adolfo Meisel was quoted by the media company as saying.

With the coal price last month hitting its lowest level since 2009 and various factors weakening oil production, "the mining and energy boom has passed," Meisel said in a speech Tuesday in Barranquilla.

A drop in Western European demand for power amid warm weather has depressed prices of coal, Colombia's second-largest export.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg said the Colombian government predicted this year that oil output would decrease for the first time since 2005 due to environmental permit delays, community protests and pipeline damage from Marxist rebel assaults.

Earlier this year, Colombia’s coal production jumped 33.8% to 24.6 million tonnes, with the country exporting 97% of its output between January and March.

Still, total coal exports fell 13.1% in the quarter, shrinking to 15.1 million tonnes from 17.4 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2013.

Under President Juan Manuel Santos's government, record-high foreign investment has flowed into oil and mining. "

      El Roble Mine

The El Roble mine is an underground copper, gold and silver mine and processing plant located in the Department of Choco in Colombia. Its commercial product is a copper concentrate with gold and silver by-product credits.

With a nominal capacity of 400 tonnes per day, the mine has processed over the past twenty-two years, a total of over 1.5 million tonnes of ore at an average head grade of 2.6% copper and an estimated gold grade of 2.5 g/t. Copper and gold mineralization at the El Roble property occurs in volcanogenic massive sulfide ("VMS") lenses.

On November 22, 2013, the Company completed the exercise of a property purchase option, acquiring 90% of the shares of Minera El Roble S.A. ("MINER"), the owner of the El Roble mineral property and took control of the producing El Roble mine and 6,679 hectares of surrounding claims. The operation is currently undergoing an expansion to a nominal capacity of 650 tonnes per day.

Since entering into the option agreement in January 2011 to acquire 90% of El Roble, Atico has aggressively explored the mine and surrounding claims. The Company has completed 11,740 meters of diamond drilling and identified numerous prospective targets for VMS deposits on the 6,679-hectare property. This exploration led to the discovery of high-grade copper and gold mineralization below the 2000 level, the lowest production level of the El Roble mine. Atico has developed a new adit access from the 1880 elevation to develop these new resources.

National Instrument 43-101 compliant inferred mineral resource are 1.58 million tonnes grading 4.45 % copper and 3.17 g/t gold, at a cut-off grade of 0.72 % copper equivalent. Mineralization is open at depth and along strike, the Company plans to further test the limits of the resource.

"VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - March 10, 2015) - Atico Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE:ATY)(OTC PINK:ATCMF)("Atico" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that ongoing in-fill drilling at the El Roble mine has significantly extended mineralization at Zeus, approximately perpendicular to the strike direction of the massive sulfide body. In addition, the Company reports the results for three diamond drill core holes (ATD-0001 through ATD-0003), which included 86.4m of 5.04% copper and 3.71g/t gold and 116m of 3.05% copper and 2.38g/t gold, respectively.

Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO, commented: "The ongoing in-fill drill program at the El Roble mine has intercepted high-grade mineralization at Zeus massive sulfide body which significantly extends the mineralization beyond the previously outlined mineralized shell. The Zeus mineralized body accounts for approximately forty percent of our total identified resource and so any extensions to mineralization discovered here could have a material impact on our total identified resource." Mr. Ganoza added, "we are extremely pleased and encouraged with these results as they continue to add further confidence to our hypothesis that high-grade mineralization continues strong at depth and remains open beyond the current mine limits."

      In-fill Drilling Program

The goal of the underground drilling program at the El Roble mine is to further define the known mineralized bodies and expand the identified resource. During the fourth quarter of 2014, the Company began a drill program to specifically test the Zeus, Aquiles and Ares mineralization. In-fill drilling approximately perpendicular to the strike direction of the known massive sulfide bodies and drilling of new prospective areas below the 2000-meter level is being conducted from the new main level 1880 adit. With the first three holes of the program (ATD-0001, ATD-0002 and ATD-0003), drilling intercepted significantly larger intervals of massive sulfide than had been modeled in the NI 43-101 inferred resource estimate wireframes of Zeus and Aquiles (See Atico technical report August 27, 2013). At the levels of mineralization drilled, the average interval used in the wireframe calculation of the inferred resource was approximately 58 meters, whereas the first infill hole (ATD-0001) intersected 116.6 meters, the second hole (ATD-0002) intersected 70.8 meters and the third hole (ATD-0003) intersected 86.4 meters of mineralization.

      Union Negotiations, +Operations Update

The Company reports it has successfully concluded negotiations with the El Roble mine union. The terms of the new agreement are for the period 2015 through 2016 and are in line with agreements negotiated recently by mining companies in Colombia.

The Company also reports commissioning of new crushing equipment has caused intermittent production at El Roble mine equivalent to approximately 25% less availability than scheduled for January and February. The Company has since stabilized production, expects equipment availability for March as scheduled and anticipates completion of commissioning by the end of the first quarter.

Inferred mineral resource of 1.58 million tonnes grading 4.45 % copper and 3.17 g/t gold, at a cut-off grade of 0.72 % copper equivalent.

"VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - May 6, 2015) - Atico Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE:ATY)(OTC PINK:ATCMF) ("Atico" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that ongoing infill drilling at the El Roble mine continues to extend mineralization of the Zeus body, approximately perpendicular to the strike direction of the massive sulfide body. In addition, the Company reports the results for six diamond drill core holes (ATD-0004 through ATD-0009), which included 70m of 6.26% copper and 1.85g/t gold and 109m of 2.11% copper and 3.79g/t gold, respectively.

Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO, commented: "Infill drilling at El Roble continues to intercept high grade mineralization at the Zeus massive sulfide body beyond the previously outlined mineralized shell, adding further confidence to our view that mineralization remains strong and open at depth. The on-going drill program at the mine will continue well into the second half of the year at which time the Company plans to update the resource estimate." Mr. Ganoza added, "based on the new geological information and the success of the first nine holes, management's confidence continues to increase with respect to resource growth potential at the El Roble mine."

      Infill Drilling Program

The goal of the current underground drilling program at the El Roble mine is to further define the known mineralized bodies and expand the identified resource. During the fourth quarter of 2014, the Company began a drill program to specifically test the Zeus, Aquiles and Ares mineralized bodies. Infill drilling approximately perpendicular to the strike direction of the known massive sulfide bodies and drilling of new prospective areas below the 2000-meter level is being conducted from the new main level 1880 adit. Subsequent to the first three holes of the program (ATD-0001 to ATD-0003) where drilling significantly extended mineralization at Zeus as reported in March 2015 (See Atico news release dated March 10, 2015), the Company is reporting the next batch of six drill holes (ATD-0004 to ATD-0009). Infill holes ATD-0004 and ATD-0007 intercepted significantly larger intervals of massive sulfide than had been modeled in the National Instrument 43-101 inferred resource estimate wireframes of Zeus and Aquiles (See Atico technical report August 27, 2013). At the levels of mineralization drilled, interval used in the wireframe calculation of the inferred resource was approximately 49 meters for infill hole ATD-0004 and 54 meters for ATD-0007, whereas the Company intersected 70.1 meters, and 109.15 meters of mineralization, respectively. Infill hole ATD-0005 intersected 55.85 meters and ATD-0009 intersected 31 meters of mineralization while in the wireframe calculation at these levels approximately 40 meters and 30 meters respectively, were used. Infill hole ATD-0006 was designed to test the upper central limit of the Zeus mineralization and intersected 7.8 meters, while infill hole ATD-0008 was also in the upper region of Zeus mineralization but designed for immediate mine planning purposes and intersected 10.5 meters of mineralization. In the wireframe calculation approximately 20 meters and 13 meters were used for these levels.

      El Roble Mine

The El Roble mine is a high grade underground copper and gold mine with nominal processing plant capacity of 650 tpd, located in the Department of Choco in Colombia. Its commercial product is a copper-gold concentrate.

Since obtaining control of the mine on November 22, 2013, Atico has upgraded the operation from a nominal capacity of 400 tonnes per day. The mine has a continuous operating history of twenty two years, with recorded production of 1.5 million tonnes of ore at an average head grade of 2.6% copper and an estimated gold grade of 2.5 g/t. Copper and gold mineralization at the El Roble property occurs in volcanogenic massive sulfide ("VMS") lenses.

Inferred mineral resource of 1.58 million tonnes grading 4.45 % copper and 3.17 g/t gold, at a cut-off grade of 0.72 % copper equivalent. Mineralization is open at depth and along strike and the Company plans to further test the limits of the resource.

Atico Mining Corporation (the "Company" or "Atico") (TSX VENTURE: ATY)(OTC PINK: ATCMF) today announced its financial results for the three months ended June 30, 2015, posting income from operations of $507,601 and net loss of $470,246.

Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO, commented, "In the second quarter the operation results were a significant improvement over the same period last year. This however did not reflect in the financial results mainly due to only one shipment of concentrate scheduled for the quarter at which point revenue is recognized." Mr. Ganoza continued, "The operation was cash flow positive during the quarter and the first half of the year, and we expect to continue to strengthen our balance sheet during the remainder of the year. We anticipate a strong third quarter both financially and in terms of production results."

      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Atico Mining Provides Exploration Update

      Copper Colombia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Feb. 8, 2017) - Atico Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE:ATY)(OTC PINK:ATCMF) ("Atico" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the completion of 2,500 m of core drilling on the San Lorenzo and Santa Anita prospect on the El Roble license which covers 10 km of strike length of the prospective El Roble massive sulfide horizon and hosts the operating El Roble copper-gold mine. The drilling consisted of 4 holes on San Lorenzo and 5 holes on Santa Anita with a maximum downhole length of 335 meters.

Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO, commented: "We are pleased with the outcome of the new scout drilling at the San Lorenzo and Santa Anita targets. The results to date confirm these large target areas are highly conducive to hosting new massive sulphide mineralization and remain very prospective." Mr. Ganoza added, "We will continue assessing these results to delineate further drilling at San Lorenzo and Santa Anita while we continue to prepare additional targets for the 2017 regional surface drill program."

      Regional Exploration Drilling Update

Logging of the core confirms the interpretation of the geology of the area derived from surface mapping. Significantly, it shows local development of sub-basins in the El Roble horizon topography having the potential for massive sulfide mineralization as evidenced by thickening of the "black chert" units at Santa Anita. At San Lorenzo chalcopyrite has been noted on fractures in hematite altered sediments above the 'black chert" unit and may represent bleed-through from underlying mineralization. The common occurrence of 5% or more of pyrite-pyrrhotite banded layers, nodules and stringers in the "black chert" unit, together with alteration may serve as vectors to nearby massive sulfide mineralization.

Preliminary results from two drill holes each from San Lorenzo and Santa Anita show anomalous copper, gold, silver, zinc, mercury, tellurium and other cogener trace elements to massive sulfide mineralization coincident with the basalt - "black chert" contact. As more results are received from the remaining six drill holes it may become possible to use this anomalous geochemistry to vector into massive sulfide mineralization.

      El Roble Mine

The El Roble mine is a high grade underground copper and gold mine with nominal processing plant capacity of 800 tonnes per day, located in the Department of Choco in Colombia. Its commercial product is a copper-gold concentrate.

Since obtaining control of the mine on November 22, 2013, Atico has upgraded the operation from a nominal capacity of 400 tonnes per day. The mine has a continuous operating history of twenty-two years, with recorded production of 1.5 million tonnes of ore at an average head grade of 2.6% copper and an estimated gold grade of 2.5 g/t. Copper and gold mineralization at the El Roble property occurs in volcanogenic massive sulfide ("VMS") lenses.

Since entering into the option agreement in January 2011 to acquire 90% of El Roble, Atico has aggressively explored the mine and surrounding claims. The Company has completed 31,377 meters of diamond drilling and identified numerous prospective targets for VMS deposits on the 6,679-hectare property. This exploration led to the discovery of high-grade copper and gold mineralization below the 2000 level, the lowest production level of the El Roble mine. Atico has developed a new adit access from the 1880 elevation to develop these new resources.

El Roble has a measured and indicated resource of 1.87 million tonnes grading 3.46% copper and 2.27 g/t gold, at a cut-off grade of 0.93% copper equivalent.

      Brave Jungs:-)

By mouthbreather demand: IKN writes nice things about a junior mining stock

I'm getting another round of dumbasses asking me why I'm so negative on the mining industry, why I always post nasty things about juniors, why don't I have a life and seem to be such a bitter twisted piece of crud and, just to prove they don't have the first freaking clue about the word, asking me why I'm such a troll.

Yes indeed, another day in mailbag paradise, wading through mouthbreather mails and their painful grammar.

But hey, I'm supposed to be a capitalist and want growth and recognition and the customer is always right and all that shit, so today I've decided that it's time to kow-tow to the market braindead and give them a reco for a stock that's truly worth their time owning. By way of disclosure, yes indeed I own shares in the company I'm about to mention and it's also covered in The IKN Weekly, so I'd assume a portion of IKN Weekly subbers also own some. I bought at lower prices and have a target that's substantially higher than today's market price, so I'm not trying to rip you off like Marin Katusa does and sell into any new buying, I'm a strong holder until my target is hit. This stock is going to have an excellent financial 2017 and the next quarter in particular is set to be a blow-out, which will make all the sell-side anal ysts who doubt its balance sheet STFU once and for all. So buy yourself some Atico Mining (ATY.v) mouthbreathers, anything under 70c is a drop-dead knockdown bargain, even paying 80c is dirt cheap and a no-brainer. Which is perfect for people like you.

Have a nice day. Love and kisses, Otto.

Ein Monat alt, aber sehr aufschlussreich:

Friedland on the state of copper

In a keynote address at Mines and Money Moneyin Hong Kong yesterday, Friedland said while global warming remained a contentious debate, air pollution was a crisis that needed an immediate solution.
“It’s going to have a wicked effect on some raw materials,” he said.
He spoke of a “mushrooming mindset” in Europe and North America regarding the movement to electric vehicles.
“The transformation of the auto industry in the next 20 years will be the most significant transformation of our time,” Friedland said.
“But it’s in China where we’re going to have the biggest disruption.”
Friedland said anyone who didn’t believe the Chinese government’s pledge to return to blue skys was an “idiot”.
“The era of electric vehicles is dawning,” he said.
“This change is coming at you so fast – the only reason you don’t know about it is that the mining industry is populated by stupid people like me.”
Friedland said if one in 10 Chinese cars switched to hydrogen fuel cell cars, global platinum production would need to double to meet demand.
“But there’s only one commodity that benefits from the evolution of technology,” he said. “Copper.”

Friedland believes copper demand will soar due to its widespread use in new technology and the lack of discoveries.

“Don’t worry about the copper price today,” he said.
“You’re really going to feel it bite you on the derriere by 2021.
“You’re going to need a telescope to see the copper price in 2021!”
Friedland said to meet demand, copper production would need to double and it “ain’t gonna happen”.
And declining grades and reserves are only going to exacerbate the problem.
“Most copper mines today are like little old ladies waiting in bed to die,” Friedland said.
Even if no new technology was adopted, Friedland said there still wouldn’t be enough copper.
“This is a nightmare coming soon to a theatre near you,” he said.
“New technology is wildly copper intensive. Copper will be the most valuable of all metals.”

      Atico Mining Provides Exploration Update
      Atico Mining Corp

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - May 11, 2017) - Atico Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:ATY) (OTC PINK:ATCMF)("Atico" or the "Company") is pleased to announce, further to its February 8, 2017 press release, the complete results of the five hole exploration drill program at Santa Anita and the four hole program at San Lorenzo targets, along with the planned 2017 exploration program.

Fernando E. Ganoza, CEO, commented: "Positive assay results of the new scout drilling program, particularly at the Santa Anita target, continue to be very encouraging. The new drill data confirms the presence of favorable pathfinders similar to those that we see inside the El Roble mine and continues to support our thesis that this large target area remains highly conducive to hosting new massive sulfide mineralization." Mr. Ganoza added, "We will continue assessing these results to delineate further drilling at Santa Anita while we continue to prepare additional targets for the 2017 regional surface drill program."

      Regional Exploration Drilling Update

      Santa Anita Target

At Santa Anita, which lays south of the El Roble mine, the Company drilled 1207 meters of core in five drill holes up to a depth of 300 meters. The holes were collared, and oriented to test the contact between the favorable "black chert" unit - basalt contact and were between 200m and 300m apart. This contact is the locus of mineralization for the El Roble mine mineralization. Historic drilling carried out by the previous operator, at Santa Anita, had intersected a quartz-chlorite breccia with pyrite and chalcopyrite (DDH MERSA-1 = 37.5 meters 0.54% Cu, MERSA-4 = 3.6 meters 0.16% Cu). In particular, anomalous gold values in one of the drill holes interpreted by Atico's geologist represent the lower levels of a massive sulfide feeder, which lays stratigraphically below the current drill holes.

The recent drilling clearly demonstrated a thickening of the "black chert" unit over a strike length of approximately 600 meters indicative of a sub-basin favorable for the deposition and preservation of massive sulfides. The sub-basin appears to be bounded by faults which might have acted as feeders for mineralization. The black chert unit also contains 5-10% bedding-parallel stringers and blebs of pyrite-pyrrhotite suggesting a distal massive sulfide depositional environment.

Hole ATSA-005, drilled on the northern margin of the sub-basin intersected two intervals of highly anomalous gold (3.9 m at 2.25 g/t Au from 114.80 m and 5.3 m at 2.31 g/t Au from 138.55 m) supporting the alteration and pathfinder element vectors... .

Atico, richtung pleite?
