      aufpeppen sollen!:

      CMGI´s AltaVista mit neuen Online-Seiten

Die mehrheitlich zum Venture-Fonds CMGI (Nasdaq: CMGI) gehörende AltaVista will 25 Mio. Dollar in den Aufbau
seiner internationalen Online-Seiten investieren.

      Press Release

      SOURCE: Indus International

AltaVista and Indus to Add Advanced Search Functionality to
      Enterprise Asset Management Systems

Alliance Allows Utilities and Manufacturers Better Insight into Operations; British Energy to Serve as
      Development Site for Integration Project

LAS VEGAS, INDUSWORLD EXPO 2000, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- AltaVista Company (www.altavista.com), the leading search and information
marketplace for consumers and businesses, and a majority-owned operating company of CMGI, Inc. (Nasdaq: CMGI - news), and Indus
International (Nasdaq: IINT - news), provider of the most robust supply-chain solutions available for capital asset-intensive companies, today
announced a joint development agreement in which Indus will use AltaVista Search Engine 3.0 in its core asset-management product, PassPort
      Release 9.0.

``Indus` `complete solution` approach to enterprise asset management results in tangible benefits to clients, such as reduced maintenance costs
and increased equipment availability,`` said Kent Hudson, president and CEO of Indus International. ``The addition of AltaVista`s advanced
search functionality to Indus PassPort will allow increased compatibility with multiple data models. Only AltaVista Search Engine 3.0 provided
the flexibility we need to incorporate the robust and reliable search that our users have been requesting.``

The addition of AltaVista`s industry-leading search technology will allow Indus to provide its users with the ability to perform wildcard, case
sensitive and field category searches, as well as word, phrase and term searching abilities to better manage equipment, facilities and
processes that allow operations to run smoothly. Indus users will also be able to search PassPort objects and access all necessary information
in a fast, efficient and user friendly manner.

In capital-intensive industries such as manufacturing, utilities, telecommunications, government, education and transportation, it is important to
extract maximum performance from operating assets by focusing on physical asset maintenance and optimizing labor and work management.

British Energy plans to use the new advanced search features to standardize searching functionality across PassPort applications and business
objects. The required searching mechanism would utilize the existing PassPort defined fields, in any combination, and act just as a PassPort
search except there would be expanded search functionality (use of wildcards and Boolean operators).

``We needed an architecture that is scalable with searchable indices updated in real time with minimal system impact on runtime system,`` said
Bill Doig, generation director for British Energy. ``The addition of advanced search functionality in PassPort 9.0, leveraging AltaVista Search
Engine 3.0, will provide the British Energy Generation business with the ability to rapidly and concisely retrieve specific information from millions
of rows of asset management records using wildcard selection criteria.``

Indus chose AltaVista for its unparalleled flexibility across multiple data models and architectural platforms. AltaVista Search Engine 3.0
provides the same powerful search technology that powers AltaVista Search at http://www.altavista.com, which attracts 65 million users
worldwide monthly. AltaVista`s integrated search developer`s kit allows administrators to create powerful, customized search applications.
Automated database gathering technology makes it very easy for administrators to enable Web search of company databases, with no code to
write. Support for more than 30 languages and 225 file formats allow companies to expand into global markets and handle nearly any
      information type.

PassPort is the only global EAM system to earn the International Standardization Organization (ISO) 9001certification. Indus consistently meets
ISO requirements through the operation of its quality systems.
