"The report also showed some weak pockets in the U.S. economy with first quarter durable goods orders falling 8.0 percent, the sharpest drop since the first quarter of 1991 and first quarter business investment off 5.7 percent."
Aha...geht ihnen als langsam doch die Luft aus.

"Without inventory restocking by firms, the figure would have been less than three percent, and we expect the pace of growth to slow to somewhere between 3.0 and 3.5 percent over the full year," said Erik Narland CDC-IXIS Capital Markets in Paris.
Na toll. Dann haben die ja noch viel zu tun, in den
nächsten 8 Monaten.
See you in hell.LOL

Ohhhhhhhhhh....eine Runde Mitleid:
US-Verbraucher erwachen endlich,vermutlich
angesichts ihrer pro-Kopf Verschuldung:
Verbrauchervertrauen: 93,erwartet 94,5.
And again: A new bear-market has just started....

U.S. stocks suffer worst week since September
By Julie Rannazzisi
NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Stocks suffered their most disastrous week since late September, with the Nasdaq down 7.4 percent, the Dow off 3.4 percent and the broad S&P 500 down 4.4 percent.
You`d never tell from the 5.8 percent gain in first-quarter GDP that investors are worried about the state of the economy. But worried they are.
The crux of the problem lies in the fact that the bulk of the economic growth is coming from the rebuilding of inventories -- and not from new business investment. And if consumers waver and companies don`t start ramping up spending plans soon, inventories will begin to retrench once again and produce a relapse into recession.
In the meantime, the fledgling recovery has yet to filter through to companies` bottom lines.
The first-quarter earnings season is actually going quite well: with 77 percent of S&P 500 companies having reported, 47.2 percent beat analysts` expectations while 18 percent met and only 11 percent missed, according to Thomson Financial/First Call.
But James McGlynn, managing director at Summit Everest Fund, notes that companies` results are coming in ahead of expectations that have been deeply lowered.
"Just because companies are beating expectations doesn`t mean that things are good," he said.
"And the constant drubbing from the watchdogs -- the SEC and the New York attorney general -- is [tempering] enthusiasm," McGlynn said.
John Roque, senior vice president at Arnhold & S. Bleichroeder, remains bearish on big-cap technology as internal data continue to reveal that "rallies are not as soothing as declines are debilitating."
Additionally, Roque feels that investors remain complacent on tech -- a bearish indicator from a contrarian standpoint. The general feeling that "it can`t get much worse from here" indicates that investors aren`t too concerned, he said.
Roque is also worried about the dollar`s weakness and feels that it will be important to its performance in the coming weeks.
"We need to pay attention to the dollar [and its effect] on confidence," he maintained.
