Fonix(R) Corp. (OTC BB: FNIX), a global provider of easy-to-use
speech solutions for devices, systems, applications and developer
tools, announces the availability of the first two Microsoft Xbox
games using Fonix voice-command technology.
In stores now are Tom Clancy`s Rainbow Six(TM) 3, published by
Ubisoft and developed by Ubioft Montreal, and SWAT(R): Global Strike
Team, published by Sierra Entertainment, a studio of Vivendi Universal

games demonstrate the power of the Fonix voice-command interface to
enhance the entertainment experience," said Tim K. Hong, vice
president of Fonix Mobile Wireless. " With Fonix voice technology
making games more fun to play, we expect this added feature to expand
market demand for games that incorporate this compelling new
interface. As demonstrated at the Japan Xbox Xfest, Fonix speech
recognition is available to developers in the Microsoft XDK in
multiple languages, including English and U.K. English, German,
French, Spanish and Japanese."

Fonix Delivers Speech Solutions to Renesas Technology`s SH-4 SeriesProcessors; Speech-Enabled Solutions Now Ready for Automotive Telematics
SALT LAKE CITY, Nov 6, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Fonix(R) Corp. (OTCBB: FNIX), a global provider of easy-to-use speech solutions for devices and systems, announces our speech interfaces have been implemented and are shipping on Renesas Technology`s Biscayne development platform for vehicle telematics systems.
The Biscayne platform with speech interfaces is available for tier-one automotive suppliers and automotive manufacturers through the Renesas Community Enabling Telematics (COMET(TM)) partnership program. Fonix has received licensing and NRE fees for collaborative work to-date and expects future unit royalty fees as vehicle manufacturers incorporate the solution into 2004-2005 production models.
Since October 2002, Fonix has been one of eight founding partners in the Renesas COMET(TM) partnership program, originally established by Hitachi Semiconductor America Inc., which is now part of Renesas Technology. This cooperative association was designed to promote vehicle telematics and multimedia systems based on the SuperH(R) (SH-4 series) RISC processors and semiconductor chipsets.
"The COMET program speeds up the time-to-market rate for tier-one suppliers and automotive manufacturers by providing one of the most innovative new technologies for the vehicle telematics industry," said Tatsuo Yamamoto, vice president of the system solution business unit at Renesas Technology America, a U.S. subsidiary of the semiconductor joint venture of Hitachi Ltd. and Mitsubishi Electric Corp. "Renesas Technology provides cutting-edge technologies to our partners and OEMs, and we offer Fonix speech on our standard development platform."
Fonix is working with Japanese and other auto manufacturers who are utilizing the SH-4 processor, which features Fonix speech interfaces for voice interaction inside the vehicle. As we introduce this platform to automotive manufacturers, the added safety and convenience of these sophisticated telematics systems will open new markets in the automotive industry, while improving the driving experience for consumers.
"Fonix is pleased to be one of the founding members of the Renesas COMET program," said D. Lynn Shepherd, vice president, Fonix Product Development. "Fonix is expanding our offerings on the SH-4 chips to include a set of standard components that can be easily integrated by OEMs. These components, which include navigation, multimedia, mobile phone and in-vehicle environment control speech interfaces, will greatly reduce time to market for the automotive manufacturers."

Leider melden sie keine Endkundenverträge im Gegensatz zum Wettbewerb. Microsoft scheint auch lieber selber zu entwickeln und zu klauen (Voice Command)als auf Lösungen von Außen zu setzen.

Was meinst Du woher die Erlöse kommen?

Fonix Speech Interface Combined with Epson`s Powerful Processor Chips Provide Best Solution for TopGrade`s Kinbible V2100
SALT LAKE CITY, Nov 16, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Fonix(R) Corporation (OTCBB:FNIX), a global provider of leading speech solutions and easy-to-use voice interfaces for devices and systems, announces the availability of our speech interface solution on an educational electronic dictionary manufactured and sold by TopGrade, a leading Chinese manufacturer of embedded devices. TopGrade`s device, Kinbible V2100, features the recently announced Fonix/Epson speech solution and is currently on the market. Fonix receives unit royalties from the sale of each device sold, primarily in the Chinese electronic device market. Educational electronic dictionary devices are growing in popularity in China and are expected to exceed a market volume of over 500,000 units per quarter.
Through our partnership with Epson, Fonix has established a working relationship with TopGrade, located in Shenzhen, China, to implement Fonix speech interface solutions in products they manufacture and sell. As their first product offering in this partnership, TopGrade has implemented the Fonix/Epson speech solution in a palm-sized electronic dictionary for Chinese speakers. This valuable educational tool is based on the Fonix/Epson speech solution, which bundles the premier Fonix DECtalk text-to-speech on Epson`s powerful processor chips. The Fonix/Epson solution is specifically designed for limited-memory devices.
"The Fonix/Epson speech solution on TopGrade`s electronic dictionary provides a superior speech interface for users," says Samuel Pang, executive director at TopGrade. "The Fonix solution offers customers the most understandable, accurate voices and makes the Kinbible V2100 an excellent tool for Chinese speakers to learn English."
"The power of Epson chips gives manufacturers like TopGrade the opportunity to integrate voice interfaces on limited-memory devices," says Lynn Shepherd, vice president, Fonix Product Development. "This relationship between Fonix, Epson and TopGrade will expand market opportunities for other TopGrade products incorporating Fonix/Epson speech solutions."

Fonix Files Sept. 30, 2003 Quarterly Report
11/18/03
SALT LAKE CITY, Nov 18, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Fonix(R) Corp. (OTC BB: FNIX), a global provider of leading speech solutions, announces financial results for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2003. Revenues from license fees and services were $456,818 for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2003, and $1,678,221 for the
nine-month period compared to $1,812,057 for the comparable nine-month period ended Sept. 30, 2002.
`While revenues for the first nine months are slightly below last year, we are pleased with the momentum accumulating from expanding revenue-based contracts,`said Thomas A. Murdock, chairman and CEO. `Speech interfaces are becoming `must have`features in games, phones and electronic devices, and Fonix offers superior technologies to meet this growing demand.`
Major companies are implementing Fonix embedded speech solutions. The first Xbox-based games including Fonix voice command technology have hit the market. And the Fonix/Epson Speech Solution has been enthusiastically adopted by the rapidly growing Chinese electronic dictionary market. Fonix also expects further growth with system integrators like Midwestern-based Meridian, who recently deployed its voice-enabled 511 road traffic information system, which features the Fonix speech solution.
The company reported a net loss of $2.8 million ($0.11 per common share) for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2003, compared to a net loss of $6.2 million ($0.51 per common share) for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2002. For the respective nine-month period, net loss was $10.7 million ($0.37 per common share) compared to $16.9 million ($1.51 per common share) in 2002.
`We anticipate revenue growth from recently announced contracts, and the company continues to implement significant cost reduction efforts,`said Roger D. Dudley, executive vice president and CFO. `Our net loss represents significant progress in reducing costs, while operations are supported by proceeds from the $20 million equity line.`

News vom 25-01-03 Uhrzeit: 18:15

Fonix Wins Best Game Innovation Of The Year Award
Offical Xbox Game Of The Year Awards
(Like the oscars, but without any gold statues or political commentary)
BEST INNOVATION
WINNER: VOICE CONTROL
RAINBOW SIX
Using the Xbox communicator as a control input is genius enough, but its implementation into the single-player game of Rainbow Six 3 is stunning. Yell relatively complex commands at Ding Chavez`s squad and they invariably and accurately carry them out. There are few purer joys than barking "breach and clear Zula!" into the mix. If you absolutely love telling people what to do, then this is the game for you.

Hey Leute!
