1. Zulassung Silber ETF steht bevor


Wie Sie ja bereits wissen, haben wir in den letzten Wochen mit großem Interesse die Entwicklung zum Silber ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) verfolgt. Unserer Einschätzung war, dass die Zulassung des ETF kurz bevorsteht und dass zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt ein Einstieg in Silberwerte äußerst aussichtsreich erscheint. Unsere Empfehlungen im Silbersektor haben sich bereits hervorragend entwickelt, viele unserer Leser konnten dadurch beachtliche Gewinne erzielen. Wir sind weiterhin absolut bullish eingestellt, wir raten Ihnen dazu, auf jeden Fall investiert zu bleiben. Sie werden sich fragen warum. Der ETF hat in der letzten Woche eine weitere wichtige Hürde genommen und wir erwarten ein Listing an der American Stock Exchange (AMEX) innerhalb der nächsten drei Monate. In Erwartung des ETF haben sich die Preise bei den Termingeschäften für Silber über ein 20-Jahreshoch geschraubt, und es sieht alles nach weiteren Steigerungen aus!



Der Silber ETF Barclays ist seiner Auflegung wieder ein Stück näher gekommen, nachdem das SEC einer Änderung der Vorschriften zugestimmt hat, die ein Listing des ETF an der AMEX ermöglicht. „Mit der jüngsten SEC Entscheidung sind die Chancen auf eine Zulassung des ETF auf 90% gestiegen,“ sagt der Analyst Paul Mladjenovic.

ETFs im Metallsektor müssen „das jeweilige Metall in ihrem Besitz haben, und das bedeutet wiederum nun eine hohe Nachfrage nach Silber“, so Dale Doelling, der erste Marktanalyst bei Trends In Commodities.

Barclays Global Investors beabsichtig, 13 Mio. Wertpapiere auszugeben, die ihre Grundlage in 129 Mio. Unzen Silber haben werden. Dies wird in einer Vereinbarung ähnlich der des streetTRACKS Gold Trust festgesetzt. Mit dieser Struktur wird das Silber in den Tresoren der Bank aufbewahrt. Jeder Anteil wird 10 Unzen Silber entsprechen. „Durch die Ansammlung großer Silbermengen durch den ETF wird der Preis für Silber neue Höhen erreichen,“ so ein Analyst der GoldSeek.com.

Aktuelle Angebots- und Nachfragesituation für Silber Wie bereits mehrfach erwähnt, wird die Nachfrage nach Silber das entsprechende Angebot übersteigen. Der Nachfragerückgang für Fotokameras wird von neuen Technologien und der Digitalfotographie mehr als kompensiert. Das Angebot an Silber kann schon nicht mehr die Nachfrage decken.

Dieser Lücke wurde regional bereits mit Verkäufen aus den Beständen der chinesischen Regierung entgegen getreten. Weitere Verkäufe aus den offiziellen Beständen Indiens sollten wohl dieses Jahr abgeschlossen sein. Von diesem Zeitpunkt an wird die indische Nachfrage in Gänze auf den globalen Silbermarkt übertragen. Das Ende der chinesischen Verkäufe kann man sehr gut an der raschen Zunahme chinesischer Silberimporte ablesen. Nach Abschluss dieser Verkäufe wird auch dieser Teil der regionalen Nachfrage auf die Weltnachfrage einwirken. Ungeachtet anderer Faktoren wird der Silberpreis maßgeblich von einer zukünftigen hohen Nachfrage bestimmt werden, zusätzlich zur bereits sehr hohen Nachfrage.

Nimmt man noch die bevorstehende Zulassung des Silber ETF hinzu, dann ergibt sich ein explovies Cocktail! Wie bereits erwähnt, werden für den ETF zu Beginn 129 Mio. Unzen benötigt. Dies entspricht einer massiven Entnahme vom Silbermarkt von 16% des jährlichen Angebotes an Silber und 21% der gelagerten Silberbestände. Es steht ein noch nie da gewesener Run auf Silber bevor! So halten Hunt Brothers und Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway schon jetzt 130 Mio. Unzen.

Anleger werden langfristige Positionen in Silber aufbauen. Wir erwarten deshalb für den Silber ETF eine Entwicklung wie die des Gold ETF. Wenn sich viele Großinvestoren wie eine Horde auf das Silber stürzen werden, dann wird der Preis für Silber kaum noch zu halten sein. Einen weiteren Unterschied zur bisherigen Situation auf dem Silbermarkt ist die Tatsache, dass eine individuelle Steuerung einer solchen Situation nur mit einem Angebot zu höheren Preisen möglich ist. Die Auflegung des ETF ist ein Meilenstein für Silber, der den gesamten Markt verändern wird. Wir sehen den Silberpreis im Umfeld dieses Nachfragedrucks weitaus höher als derzeit. Mittelfristig könnte Silber sogar im Preis und in der Volatilität Gold outperformen.

"Der Silber ETF ist wirklich das bedeutendste Ereignis für den Silbermarkt, seit die Hunt Brüder vor 25 Jahren versuchten, den Silbermarkt unter ihre Kontrolle zu bringen", sagt Jim Wyckoff, ein Analyst der TradingEducation.com, in Bezugnahme auf die Brüder, die den Silberpreis 1980 auf über 50 $ trieben.

Phillips sieht diesen Versuch, den Silbermarkt zu beherrschen als gescheitert an. Aber mit dem ETF im Markt, würden Versuche wie die von Warren Buffet größere Aussichten auf Erfolg haben als zuvor. Unternehmen des Silbersektors werden auf Grund der Verzahnung und der Hebelwirkung dann noch einmal die Entwicklung des Silberpreises deutlich outperformen!

Northland Resources Taps Norwegian Funds
Mineral exploration is a business. And no one understands that better than our X-League honorees. Case in point: Simon Ridgway’s Northland Resources Inc. (V.NAU), a company establishing itself as a profitable metals producer in Europe. Simon has zeroed in on Finland and Sweden as not only great places to find deposits, but also as fertile ground for funding Northland. To that end, he recently engaged Pareto Private Equity ASA of Oslo to assist in a listing on the Oslo Exchange by the end of April. Already listed on two other stock exchanges—the TSX-V (NAU) and Frankfurt (NBS)—Northland has enjoyed stronger volume days since the announcement of the Oslo listing, and its recent high shows a 25% appreciation in the share price.

So why list on a third exchange? Apparently not all European Exchanges are created equal: management is betting that completion of the Oslo SME listing, which the company projects could take place in September, will position them to tap into an entirely new group of mining-savvy investors.

The stats show that the effort should be well worth it. Trading volumes on the Oslo exchange have tripled over the past two years, listings are growing at a rate of 25%, and the current aggregate market capitalization exceeds 197 billion USD. Of the 213 companies currently listed on Oslo, only 4% are Canadian-based, so NAU may well be blazing a trail to this international marketplace that will be followed by other forward-thinking Canadian explorers.

Over and above improved market liquidity, Oslo offers the allure of big euro-based financings. KPMG reports that last year 32 IPOs were completed on the exchange, representing 1.7 billion euros (avg. 40M euros per issue). NAU will seek two financing rounds in this arena, anticipating raising $10 - $15 million USD in the first. The financing is scheduled to close in tandem with the April listing.

This cash infusion should solidly position NAU for its project work. Once the first Oslo financing round is completed, the company should have in the neighborhood of C$17 million, assuming full exercise of warrants and options. Given NAU’s sizeable work commitments and aggressive technical goals, they may need to complete another senior round of financing in the fall. But in the interim the company is well financed.

What will the money be used for? NAU management announced recently that the proceeds of the forthcoming Oslo placement will be used to advance the exploration and development of projects in Sweden and Finland. In particular for additional resource drilling and a scoping study on its Barsele-Norra gold project and the Stara Sahavaara magnetite project. In addition, NAU will also be advancing their IOCG target at Hannukainen in Finland and developing a regional exploration portfolio of IOCG targets.

At Barsele-Norra, drilling is already underway, with the company recently announcing the mid-April filing of a NI43-101 report outlining a 26% increase in indicated gold resources, to 393,324 oz contained within 7.625 million tones at an average grade of 1.6 g/t Au. The inferred resources have increased by 15% to 437,041 oz Au contained within 9.026 million tonnes at an average grade of 1.51 g/t Au.

A second drill rig is working on the magnetite iron project at Stora Sahavaara. This, too, could be a hot property: Credit Suisse Boston recently forecast that iron-ore prices could increase 15% in 2006, meaning that Northland may have one of the top properties for a booming commodity. All in an area of the world that understands the iron market and has extensive infrastructure in place for iron-ore production.

Expect a fair amount of news flow from Simon and NAU as the financings/listings in Oslo go ahead, resource figures are released on Stora Sahavaara, and drill results come back from the drills. This just might be one of the top movers in Oslo this year

(TSX VENTURE:NAU) is pleased to announce that, further to Northland's news release of March 20, 2006, the financing terms of the Company's agreement with Pareto Private Equity ASA of Oslo, Norway ("Pareto") have been finalized. Pareto Private Equity ASA, is a part of the Pareto Group, which was founded in 1986, and is a Norwegian independent investment bank focused primarily on oil and gas, oil services and shipping. Its institutional sales focus is Scandinavia and London. Pareto recently acted as the strategic and financial advisor to Crew Gold and has raised close to US$450-million for Crew between 2003 to 2005, overseeing its development into an intermediate gold producer.

NORTHLAND (nu CAD 1.44 senast betalt) har väl följt JF:s utvecklingstips. Se artikel nedan daterad 18 jan-06. Allt går nu svindlande fort för bolaget. Förutom de stora järn("malms")förekomsterna i norra Sverige och Finland (c:a 44% "rikhet") så kommer man att sätta full fart i guldprojektet i norra Barsele inom kort. Ett projekt som många bedömer mycket lovande.
Nu är det också beslutat att man inom kort skall noteras på OSLO Börs lilla lista för att senare i år ansöka om stora listan. De nyrika norrmännen kommer att här få ännu ett intressant miningbolag att investera i. Minns IGE och nu Lappland Gold.
Innan alla får upp ögonen på detta av JF högrankade miningbolag kan det vara aktuellt att ta en post. Bolaget är som alla andra miningbolag ett riskbolag, men JF tycker att vi här pratar om kvalité. JF:s mininganalytiker har noga gått igenom bolaget som nyss var i Sverige på presentation av sin verksamhet. Första köpgräns kan vara 1.50-1.60 med mål 2.50-3.00 i år.

No wonder NAU has seen quite a run in the months since we recommended it: the company has a quality management team working on gold and iron deposits (with significant copperand gold credits) in Scandinavia—a stable and promining part of the world. NAU is vulnerable to weakness in the iron market, but that looks pretty strong. Evenif the U.S. and Chinese economies weaken, NAU’s nearest market, Europe, is in a chronic supply deficit.And at the prices we see gold headed, NAU may be able to get enough gold out of its iron deposits to getthe iron almost for free.
On the ground, Northland recently announced the results of a new 43-101-compliant gold resourcecalculation for its 100% owned Barsele/Norra gold project in Sweden. Using a 0.7g/t Au cutoff, the Indicatedresources have increased from the previous estimate by 26% to 393,324 oz. The Inferred resources haveincreased by 15% to 437,041 oz Au. And the drill is still turning on the project—management’s goal of outlining a million ounces or more now seems doable. A drill is also turning on Stora Sahavaara, from which
a new resource is due out this month. At the Hannukainen project in Finland, relogging/reassaying is essentially finished and the company is working on up-to-date cross sections and 3D modeling. The staff in
Finland has proposed a 5,000 m drilling program to test the copper-gold and iron potential.
In other words, NAU is firing on all cylinders, and we expect a lot more news this season. Compared to its peers in today’s market, NAU is still relatively cheap. So, even though we have already achieved gains of better than 200%, we are not taking profits—and would buy more on any dips in the coming weeks.

Northland Resources Inc.'s previously announced private placement was oversubscribed and Pareto Private Equity ASA of Oslo, Norway, which is acting as the agent in selling the offering, has elected to exercise the full overallotment of three million shares. Northland will therefore be issuing 15 million common shares priced at $1.35 per share, subject to exchange approval. The other terms of the private placement are the same as announced in Stockwatch April 4, 2006. The financing is expected to close the first week of May.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 9, 2006) - Buck Morrow, President of Northland Resources Inc. ("Northland") (TSX VENTURE:NAU) is pleased to announce that drilling has started on a 10,000m diamond drill program at Northland's 100%-owned Hannukainen iron-copper-gold project in Finland. Previous work by Northland in 2005 identified a significant copper-gold target centered near the past-producing Hannukainen (Laurinoja) open pit mine which is reported to have produced 4.5 million tonnes at a grade of 43% Fe, 0.88% Cu, and 1 g/t Au.

The drill program, which is expected to continue for much of 2006, has the following objectives:

- Investigate the copper + gold potential along strike and down dip of the historic drilling at Hannukainen.

- Confirmation and expansion of the historic 66 million tonne iron-copper-gold resource and recalculation of the resource to NI 43-101 standards. (This resource estimate was prepared prior to the implementation of National Instrument 43-101 and does not use the resource categories stipulated in Section 1.3 of National Instrument 43-101, which are "inferred mineral resource", "indicated mineral resource" and "measured mineral resource". The Company believes that term "resources" is used differently from the use of that term in NI 43-101. The Company does not have - and is not aware of - any more recent resource estimates which conform to the standards laid out in NI 43-101 and the historical estimate should not be relied upon.)

- Evaluation of adjacent iron-oxide-copper-gold targets

The Hannukainen copper-gold targets were identified by re-logging and re-assaying of historic drill core stored at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) core library. Hannukainen contains five known iron-copper-gold occurrences: Lauku, Laurinoja, Kuervaara, Vuopio and Kivivuopio, all located within a 3.5km trend. The primary target of the drill program is Laurinoja where previous logging and assaying has defined as a linear zone measuring approximately 1,000m by 200-400m. This zone is open to the northeast and southwest, and projects into areas untested by previous drilling located southwest of the historic pit.

Northland's 2005 re-assaying program returned numerous anomalous copper-gold intersections. Highlights include:

A full table of the re-assayed intersections which define the Hannukainen copper-gold trend is attached to the November 7, 2005 release titled "Northland Resources Identifies Major Copper-Gold Target at Hannukainen mine, Finland" and a drill collar map showing the positions of the re-assayed holes is available on the Northland website (www.northlandresourcesinc.com).

The Hannukainen area represents one of a number of known iron-oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) type magnetite occurrences in the Kolari District, Finland currently being re-evaluated by Northland. The deposits at Hannukainen in northwestern Finland are hosted by the Pajala Shear Zone. They belong to the IOCG class of mineral deposits. The Geologic Survey of Finland (GTK) reports that the Hannukainen deposits contain iron resources of 66 million tonnes of magnetite with anomalous copper and gold grades.

Reinterpretation of the historic drilling, (175 re-logged holes and 100 re-assayed old drill holes) and compilation of grade-thickness maps for the copper and gold values, has defined a 1,000m long, northeast trending linear copper-gold anomaly within the magnetite body through the pit area. The new data from the 2005 program provided Northland with an important new drill target in the shear-controlled Hannukainen IOCG district. The presence of high copper and gold grades at Hannukainen would significantly enhance the economics of the known magnetite iron deposits in the area.

Vance V. Thornsberry, P.Geol., Vice President of Exploration for Northland, is the Qualified Person as defined in NI 43-101, responsible for the design and execution of the Hannukainen re-assay program and has verified that the drill intersections contained in this release are an accurate summary of the assay data received by the company. Mr. Thornsberry has also verified that the historic information presented in this release has been accurately summarized from the reports quoted herein.

Der Goldpreis konnte bereits gestern Abend noch die Marke von 700$ am Kassamarkt überwinden und erreichte einen bisherigen Höchstkurs von 704,40$. Mitverantwortlich für die Stärke dürfte eine Meldung auf Bloomberg gewesen sein, wonach sich der Output der von Barrick Gold betriebenen „South Deep Mine“ (Südafrika) während der nächsten neun bis zwölf Monate halbieren sollte. Obwohl die Mine mit einem Wert von 65 Millionen US Dollar versichert ist, muss Barrick eine Selbstbeteiligung von zehn Millionen Dollar selbst tragen. Die Aktien des Bergbaukonzerns zeigen sich von dieser Meldung unbeeindruckt und können an der New York Stock Exchange um 1,44% zulegen.
Weitere wichtige News war die Meldung aus China, dass chinesische Volkswirte eine Vervierfachung der Goldbestände gemessen an den Devisenreserven vorgeschlagen hatten. Momentan betragen die chinesischen Devisenreserven 875 Milliarden US Dollar, wobei lediglich 1,3% dieses Wertes in Gold angelegt sind. Als Schutz gegen eine weiter fallende US Valuta soll dieser Prozentsatz in den Bereich zwischen drei und fünf Prozent gehievt werden. In absoluten Zahlen würden dies eine Steigerung von Chinas Goldreserven um 1.900 Tonnen auf dann 2.500 Tonnen bedeuten.

Northland Delivers NI43-101 Iron Ore Resource for Stora Sahavaara Project, Sweden

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 18, 2006) - Buck Morrow, the President of Northland Resources Inc. ("Northland") (TSX VENTURE:NAU - News), is pleased to announce the completion of a NI43-101 compliant resource calculation for the Stora Sahavaara magnetite body in northern Sweden.
Using a 25% Fe cut off, the study has delineated:

A NI43-101 compliant report detailing the methodology and results of the current resource calculation will be filed on www.sedar.com within 45 days. A full table showing resource tonnages and grades calculated at cut offs of 25% Fe, 30% Fe and 35% Fe is attached at the end of this release.

For comparison purposes, the existing LKAB-owned iron mine at Malmberget, located approximately 150km west of Stora Sahavaara, operates with a cut off grade of 20% Fe. Both the proven and probable reserves at Malmberget grade 43.6% Fe, allowing for some losses during extraction. Measured resources at Malmberget grade 42.4% Fe, the indicated resources grade 39.5% Fe, and the inferred resources grade 43.0% Fe (reserve and resource information for Malmberget was taken from the LKAB Annual report 2005).

The only other resource estimate available for Stora Sahavaara was published by the Swedish Geological Survey (SGU) in 1967 in a report on the deposit titled "Stora Sahavaara Iron Ore Occurrences, Report of the results from SGU investigations between 1960-1964" by Bo Lungberg. Lundberg describes a 100 million tonne magnetite (43.7% Fe) resource. (This resource estimate is historic in nature, does not use the resource categories as stipulated in Section 1.3 of National Instrument 43-101 and is not NI43-101 compliant. The reader is cautioned that the 1967 figure cannot be relied on).

Buck Morrow, President of Northland said, "We're delighted with the first 43-101 compliant resource numbers from Stora Sahavaara. It demonstrates that Northland now has a potentially significant magnetite resource in its project portfolio and allows us to move forward towards a detailed scoping study for Stora. We will now advance the metallurgical testwork to determine the best treatment route for the magnetite ore."

Geology of Stora Sahavaara

The Stora Sahavaara iron deposit occurs within metasedimentary rock units of Paleoproterozoic age (2.5-1.9Ga) located in the Central Lapland Greenstone Belt of Northern Sweden. The metasediments consist of quartzites, dolomites, phylites and schists overlying a greenstone unit. The lithologies strike N25 degrees E and dip 60 degrees W, and are interpreted to be in a normal stratigraphic position. The deposit is located within the Pajala Shear Zone; a regional structural fabric parallel to the local lithic contacts. The Pajala Shear Zone is part of the 50-100 km wide Baltic-Bothnian Mega-shear, a system of thrust/reverse faults active during the Svecofennian Orogeny (1.85 Ga).

The iron deposit occurs as a continuous magnetite body containing copper mineralization in the form of chalcopyrite. It has been delineated along 1,300m of surface strike length with an average true width of 52m. At 250m down dip, the deposit has been traced for 1,000m along strike with an average true width of 48 meters. At 550m down dip, the deposit has been traced for 600m along strike with an average width of 43m.

Methodology

The resource estimate for the Stora Sahavaara Iron Occurrence was constructed using geologic and assay information from 60 drill holes totaling 14,222m. These include historic drilling between 1960-1964 by the Swedish Geological Survey ("SGU") and a series of 14 holes drilled in 2005 by Northland.

Much of the drill core from the 1960-1964 study is still stored in the SGU core archives and was available for re-logging and re-assay. The original hardcopy drill logs were obtained from the Swedish Geologic Survey and a QA/QC analysis was conducted on the historic database. This included: re-assaying selected intervals, drill collar surveys and review of drill hole orientation data. In addition 3 of the historic drill holes were twinned to check for lithologic and assay consistency. The results of this work have shown that the historic data is very accurate.

Geologic cross sections and 5m assay composites were used to create a wire-frame shape of the magnetite body. Variograms were constructed for iron and copper along the three principle axes of the body, using composite data located within it. The variogram ranges were used as search distances for an inverse distance weighted model interpolation. Specific gravity relations were calculated from a linear regression of the historic data and applied to each individual model block based on iron grade. The current data base includes 3,483 total iron analyses; of these 98% have total copper analyses and 33% have specific gravity analyses.

Final resource categories were assigned based on variogram ranges used in the interpolation model. Each category was calculated using unique search parameters which were limited in down dip projections below unconfined drill holes. The measured and indicated resource is currently modeled down to a maximum depth of 550m below surface.

Qualified Person

Resource estimates were prepared by third party consultant (Bart Stryhas, PhD Structural Geology); the resource model and estimates were subsequently reviewed by Chlumsky Armbrust & Meyer L.L.C. ("CAM") an independent, mineral resource, consulting and engineering group based in Lakewood, Colorado USA. CAM has reviewed the database and modeling procedures used by Northland to calculate the Stora Sahavaara magnetite resource. On the basis of this review CAM believes that the Stora Sahavaara resource and resource model have been prepared according to accepted engineering practice for a project at this level of development and that the results obtained are suitable for determining if further exploration work on the property is warranted. The result of the CAM review of the Central Zone will be filed on SEDAR as a NI 43-101 Technical Report within 45 days of this press release.

Northland Completes Purchase of 100% of Barsele Gold Project, Sweden

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 23, 2006) - Mr. Buck Morrow, President of Northland Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:NAU), is very pleased to announce that Northland has now closed the purchase of 100% of Minmet plc's Barsele gold project in Sweden. The project has a NI43-101 compliant Indicated resource of 393,324 oz. of gold contained within 7.625 million tonnes at an average grade of 1.6 g/t gold, and an Inferred resource of 437,041 oz. gold contained within 9.026 million tonnes at an average grade of 1.51 g/t gold (see table below).

In consideration for the acquisition of the Barsele Project, the Company has issued to a subsidiary of Minmet plc 3,000,000 shares of Northland and warrants to purchase up to 1,500,000 shares of the Company exercisable at $0.80 per share for two years. These securities have a hold period until September 20, 2006.

Following the Barsele transaction, Northland has 54,615,654 shares issued and 62,642,203 shares fully diluted. At the closing price on the TSX Venture Exchange on May 19, 2006, the Company has a fully diluted market capitalization of $87-million. The Company has $22.5-million dollars in its treasury after recent financing activities in the second quarter of 2006. Approximately 6.95-million warrants have been exercised since January 1, 2006, bringing in $3.94-million.

Northland recently published NI43-101 compliant resources for 2 projects in Sweden -the Barsele gold project, and the Stora Sahavaara iron project- and is drilling on a third project, the Hannukainen iron-copper-gold project in Finland.

Stora Sahavaara Iron Project

Northland also recently announced the completion of the first NI43-101 compliant resource calculation for the Stora Sahavaara magnetite body in northern Sweden (see Northland press release dated May 18, 2006). Using a 25% Fe cut off, the study has delineated:

Hannukainen Drill Program

A 10,000m diamond drill program is underway at the Company's 100%-owned Hannukainen iron-copper-gold project in Finland. Previous work by Northland in 2005 identified a significant copper-gold target centered near the past-producing Hannukainen (Laurinoja) open pit mine which is reported to have produced 4.5 million tonnes at a grade of 43% Fe, 0.88% Cu, and 1 g/t Au. The drill program, which is expected to continue for much of 2006, has the following objectives:

- Investigate the copper + gold potential along strike and down dip of the historic drilling at Hannukainen.

- Confirmation and expansion of the historic 66 million tonne iron-copper-gold resource and recalculation of the resource to NI 43-101 standards (This resource estimate was prepared prior to the implementation of National Instrument 43-101 and does not use the resource categories stipulated in Section 1.3 of National Instrument 43-101, which are "inferred mineral resource", "indicated mineral resource" and "measured mineral resource". The Company believes that term "resources" is used differently from the use of that term in NI 43-101. The Company does not have - and is not aware of - any more recent resource estimates which conform to the standards laid out in NI 43-101 and the historical estimate should not be relied upon).

- Evaluation of adjacent iron-oxide-copper-gold targets

NI43-101 Compliance

Resource estimates for both the Barsele and Stora Sahavaara projects were prepared by third party consultant (Bart Stryhas, PhD Structural Geology); the resource models and estimates were subsequently reviewed by Chlumsky Armbrust & Meyer L.L.C. ("CAM") an independent, mineral resource, consulting and engineering group based in Lakewood, Colorado USA. CAM has reviewed the database and modeling procedures used by Northland to calculate the Barsele gold resource and the Stora Sahavaara magnetite resource. On the basis of its reviews CAM believes that the Stora Sahavaara and Barsele resources and resource models have been prepared according to accepted engineering practice for a project at this level of development and that the results obtained are suitable for determining if further exploration work on the properties is warranted.

Thornsberry, P.Geol., Vice-President of Exploration for Northland Resources, is the Qualified Person as defined in NI43-101, and has verified that the information presented in this release has been accurately summarized from the reports quoted herein. ("Northland") (TSX VENTURE:NAU) is pleased to announce that recent work has outlined a new target close to Northland's Palotieva iron-oxide-copper-gold target (IOCG). Palotieva is 6km northwest of Northland's Stora Sahavaara iron project in northeast Sweden (see Northland press release dated May 18, 2006).

Assaying at Palotieva has returned copper grades from trace up to 11.8% Cu in bedrock drill-chip samples collected during Base of Till (BOT) sampling. Till samples collected immediately above the bedrock samples returned from trace up to 12.9% Cu. Gold results range from trace to 5.67g/t Au in bedrock. Assay results (see table below) for a continuous sequence of bedrock and BOT samples across the zone appear to outline a potentially significant high grade copper mineralized zone up to 22.5m in width.

The Palotieva copper-gold target - which is interpreted as a distal iron-oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) occurrence - lies close to the Sweden-Finland border in the Pajala Shear Zone. It was initially identified by Anglo American Exploration B.V. ("Anglo") in 2004 while their geologists were following up combined geophysical and geochemical anomalies in widely spaced BOT samples. Anglo drilled a single borehole to test the target that appeared to intersect sulphide mineralization at a depth of approximately 161m down hole, or 132m vertically below surface. However, recoveries were very poor and insufficient sample material was available to assay because of core loss. Anglo subsequently ran a line of closely spaced BOT samples, at 2.5m intervals, across the estimated position of the mineralization projected upwards to the bedrock/till interface. Northland, recently assayed the Anglo BOT samples and the results appear to outline a potentially significant high-grade copper mineralized zone up to 22.5m in width. A map showing the location of the project and the BOT hole locations will posted on Northland's web site shortly (www.northlandresourcesinc.com).

The Palotieva IOCG target is interpreted to lie within a similar stratigraphic horizon to the nearby Tapuli/Palotieva iron ore occurrence. As such, the 2 occurrences are likely to be part of the same mineralized system with the Tapuli/Palotieva magnetite body representing the iron-oxide rich end of the IOCG spectrum. Historic magnetite resources at Tapuli/Palotieva are estimated by the Swedish Geological Survey (SGU) as approximately 60,000,000 tonnes of magnetite ore grading 30% Fe. (The SGU drilled 26 holes at Tapuli and defined a total resource estimated at 60.3 million tonnes grading 29.5% Fe. Contained within this resource is a "higher-grade" central section estimated at 17 million tonnes grading 39.7% Fe. At Palotieva, the SGU defined a historic resource of 8.1 million tonnes at 27.4% Fe based on a single drill hole plus interpretation of the magnetic geophysical data covering the mineralisation. This hole contains a 1m intercept grading 5.3% Cu. These are historic (pre-NI 43-101) resources, and the Company believes that term "resources" is used differently from the use of that term in NI 43-101. The resource categories stipulated in Section 1.3 of National Instrument 43-101 are "inferred mineral resource", "indicated mineral resource" and "measured mineral resource". The Company does not have -and is not aware of - any more recent resource estimates which conform to the standards laid out in NI 43-101 and the historical estimate should not be relied upon.)

Northland entered into an option agreement with Anglo American Exploration B.V. ("Anglo") in late 2004 to acquire a 100% interest in two exploration permits - the Pajala properties - covering approximately 18,000 hectares of ground which host a number of known iron-oxide + copper-gold (IOCG) targets in Sweden, including the Palotieva target. The terms of the agreement between Anglo and Northland are detailed in Northland press release dated December 8, 2004.

Qualified Person

Vance V. Thornsberry, P.Geol., Vice President of Exploration for Northland Resources, is the Qualified Person as defined in NI43-101, responsible for overseeing the execution of Northland's Palotieva exploration program and for verifying that the results presented in this news release are an accurate summary of the data provided to Northland by Anglo American Exploration B.V.

All samples were collected using a special purpose percussion drill. The rigs drill through the till until it hits bedrock. At that point the hole is cleared and than deepened a few centimeters into bedrock and sampled. A second hole is then drilled immediately beside the first hole and a sample collected from the bottom few centimeters of the till overlying bedrock. Northland's samples were prepared at ALS Chemex Laboratory in Pitea Sweden and analyzed at ALS Chemex Laboratory in Vancouver, BC. Base-of-till samples and rock samples were analyzed by 34 Element Aqua Regia ICP-AES; Gold was analyzed by 30g FA ICP-AES Finish. Over detection copper values were reanalyzed using Ore grade Cu-Aqua Regia/AA.

NORTHLAND RESOURCES RETAINS CORUS CONSULTING TO INVESTIGATE BENEFICIATION AND MARKETING OF STORA SAHAVAARA MAGNETITE ORE

Northland Resources Inc. has contracted Corus Consulting Ltd. to supervise a comprehensive investigation of the optimum treatment route for magnetite ore from the Stora Sahavaara magnetite body in northern Sweden. The work will comprise a combination of beneficiation testwork to look at how easily the ore can be upgraded, and market research to identify the best product and what demand exists currently -- and down the road -- for that product.

The work will include: i) a market review to identify current supply and demand for various iron ore products; ii) a determination of the most appropriate product mix and identification of potential customers; iii) an appraisal of previous work done at Stora Sahavaara; iv) the design and supervision of a bulk sampling program for Stora Sahavaara; v) supervision and analysis of a beneficiation testwork program to determine the optimum beneficiation route for the ore and development of a flowsheet; and vi) a pelletizing testwork program.

Corus Consulting provides business planning consultancy, engineering, technical assistance, technology and training services to the international metals industry. The services it offers within primary processing fall broadly into three categories: mining/raw materials, iron making and steelmaking/casting. In the June 8, 2006, edition of the Gold Newsletter, Brien Lundin says Northland Resources Inc. is a hold, as its value is underpinned by the Barsele, Hannukainen and Stora Sahavaara projects in Finland and Sweden. Mr. Lundin said buy Northland, now trading at $1.18, at 48 cents in April, 2006, and at 55 cents in December, 2005. An investment of $1,000 each time would now be worth $4,487.54. The company said last month that it closed on the purchase of Barsele, where it outlined an indicated resource of 393,000 ounces of gold. The company issued three million shares and 1.5 million warrants to MinMet PLC for the deal. It also started a 10,000-metre drill program last month at its Hannukainen copper-gold target in Finland. The company wants to confirm and expand the 66-million-tonne iron-copper-gold resource. Northland also made a "brilliant move" by listing its shares for the Norwegian over-the-counter exchange, in connection with a $22.5-million finaning. This puts Northland in front of investors who consider it a "local play," says Mr. Lundin. Those investors will be very familiar with the Stora Sahavaara property, with its sizable magnetite resource. Simon Ridgway, director and chairman of Northland, once sat on the board of Pilagold Inc., and is now a director of Radius Gold Inc., both Lundin picks. Fellow newsletter writer Douglas Casey also touts Northland. He said buy at 59 cents in July, 2005. Jay Tayler said buy at 98 cents on Feb. 14, 2006.

Ich gehe davon aus, dass sie Barsele entweder rauspinen oder verkaufen. In Sachen Eisenerz werden noch Jahre vergehen bis dahin. Allerdings heisst das ja nicht, dass sich der Firmenwert nicht steigert. Allein schon das einbringen eines namhaften Partners, zum Beispiel eine Stahlklitsche, würde dem Kurs mächtig Beine machen.

Alles wie gehabt. Die machen ihre Arbeit vorbildlich weiter. Allerdings wird auch darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass bis August/September wenig entscheidene News anstehen und wahrscheinlich auch dieses Jahr wieder das normale Sommerloch anfällt. Das dürfte den Kurs nochmals belasten.

Mit meiner ersten Position bin ich inzwischen aus der Speku-Frist raus. Bin noch unsicher, was ich mache: Jetzt raus und im September wieder billiger rein oder weiter halten?

wie mans macht, macht mans falsch.

Es ist halt immer die latente Angst da, einen entscheidenden Move zuverpassen.

Es juckt mir immer wieder in den Fingern, Positionen unabhängig von der Steuersituation zu traden (wie früher - überwiegend erfolglos). Aber die Umschichtung meines Depots in Explorer und Juniorproduzenten im vergangenen Herbst sollte mehr dem längerfristigen Anlageaspekt Rechnung tragen, und bis jetzt habe ich mich weitgehend daran gehalten.

Gegen die Mitnahme von Gewinnen bei aussichtsreichen Weren spricht etvl. dass beim Neueinstieg die Kapitalertragssteuer/Abgeltungssteuer je nach Gestaltung der Ausführungsbestimmungen im Herbst evtl. nicht vermieden werden kann, und das bei möglichen Vervielfachungen des aktuellen Kurses.

Auf der anderen Seite - eingestichene Gewinne sind sicher.

Rückblickend hätten sich natürlich traumhafte Tradingchancen aufgetan.

Habe ich eine Wissenslücke? Wenn ich meine erste Position (Kauf Anfang Juni 2005) jetzt verkaufe, so ist dieses Veräußerungsgeschäft m.W. steuerfrei. Meine anderen 2 Positionen (Nachkäufe) halte ich weiter. Diese laufen erst im September aus der Speku-Frist.

Mir juckt es nämlich nicht in den Fingern, unabhängig von der Speku-Frist zu zocken oder traden. Ich verdiene lieber realtiv sicher mit Substanzwerten Geld.

Es stellt sich mir weiterhin die Frage, ob ich jetzt die saure Gurken-Zeit zum Verbilligen nutzen soll.

Wenn alles wie gehabt läuft, kannst du mit sattem Gewinn und steuerfrei einen Grossteil Deiner Position Ende Novemebr/ Anfang DEzember rausholen. Sollte allerdings der gesamte Markt die von vielen befürchtete Korrektur im September und Oktober fahren, dann wartest Du eben bis März/ April und hastr sie dann bestimmt auch noch steuerfrei.

So muss es sein. Frühzeitig rein, a bisserl Geduld und dann mit 100 - 400% steuerfrei raus.

Danke, Neono, für deine Einschätzung.

Für mich bleibt da aber noch ein Punkt offen, der für einen kleinen Widerspruch ergibt.

Wenn ich jetzt einen Teil (1/3 meiner Position mit derzeit ca. 60% Gewinn) verkaufe, dann will ich ja gerade die kommende Kursschwäche nutzen, um wieder billiger nachzukaufen. Sollte die befürchtete Korrektur im September/Oktober kommen, dann kann ich diese abwarten und komme sogar noch günstiger rein. Ich habe den Juli-Report von NAU so gelesen, dass in den nächsten 3 Monaten der Kurs weiter unter Druck kommt.

Warum sollte ich mit dem Verkauf dann gerade bis Oktober warten? Die Wahrscheinlichkeit ist m.E. doch gerade dann relativ groß, dass dann mit den wieder anstehenden News und dem Reporting der Kurs bis März/April wieder dramatisch ansteigen könnte. Erst dann würde ich meine weitere 2/3-Position (derzeit >100% und März/April vielleicht 300-400%) verkaufen wollen.

Weißt Du (wieder einmal) mehr, dass Du jetzt von einem Teilverkauf abräts? Oder gibt es bei mir Ungereintheiten in den Überlegungen.

(TSX VENTURE:NAU)(FWB:NBS)(NOTC:NAUR) ("Northland"), is pleased to announce the results of the most recent drilling at the Central Zone of its 100%-owned Barsele gold project in Sweden. Five holes were completed in the program which was cut short by the spring thaw.

The best result was from hole 06005 which returned 2.97 g/t Au over 19m from 107m downhole. A full table of significant results is given below:

In March 2006 prior to this drill program, Northland completed a NI43-101 resource calculation for the Barsele gold project (see press release dated March 1, 2006). Using a 0.7 g/t Au cut off the resources are:

- Indicated resources of 393,324 ounces of gold contained in 7,624,627 tonnes grading 1.6 g/t Au

- Inferred resources of 437,041 ounces of gold contained in 9,206,020 tonnes @ 1.52 g/t Au.

A map showing the collar locations of the most recent drill holes will be posted on the Northland website (www.northlandresourcesinc.com).

The objectives of this program were to extend the Barsele Central Zone to the south and to upgrade the confidence category of resources defined during previous drill campaigns. However access to the site was affected by poor spring weather conditions and availability of suitable drill rigs and the program was stopped early with 1,260m completed in 5 holes.

Northland's technical team is currently planning the next phase of drilling at Barsele, scheduled to begin late August. Northland has secured two diamond drill rigs from a European drill contractor which will be available exclusively to Northland for 2 years starting in August. Again, the main objective of the program will be to upgrade the confidence category of resources defined during previous drill campaigns and to increase the known resource.

The drilling has shown that several good intervals of greater than 2.0 g/t material exist to the south of the Central Zone within a much broader zone of persistent, lower level gold values. However the ore grade material is deeper than anticipated. Geologic interpretations of cross-sections through the latest five drill holes indicate a western drill target which will be tested later in the year.

The Skirtraskbacken Prospect

The Skirtraskbacken Gold Prospect is a direct continuation of the Au-mineralized trend that hosts Barsele and forms part of the Barsele project area. Northland has been carrying out a campaign of Base of Till (BOT) sampling program and review of historical data drilling for the prospect with the aim of defining additional drill targets. Two target areas have been identified to date and further work in these areas will include following:

- detailed mapping and structural geological analysis;

- a full interpretation and geological correlation of available historic drill hole information;

- interpretation of historic results from geophysical surveys carried out in 2004;

- generation of new drill targets.

Hannukainen Update

Northland currently has one rig working at the Hannukainen iron-copper-gold project in Finland. Roughly 80 holes are planned with 11 completed to date. First results are expected during August. An extensive program of relogging and sampling of historic diamond drill holes stored in the government core archives is also underway.

NI43-101 Compliance

Vance V. Thornsberry, P.Geol., Vice President of Exploration for Northland Resources, is the Qualified Person as defined in NI43-101, responsible for overseeing the design and execution of the Barsele exploration program. All core from the recent program was logged, photographed and sampled at the Storuman core facility in Sweden. Samples were shipped to ALSChemex in Pitea, Sweden. The samples were prepared at this facility and a 100gram pulp was shipped to ALSChemex in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for fire assay. QA/QC was monitored by the insertion of blank and standard samples.

The resource estimates were prepared by Bart Stryhas, PhD, structural geology, and Vance Thornsberry P Geol. The resource model and estimates were subsequently reviewed by Chlumsky Armbrust & Meyer LLC (CAM), an independent, mineral resource, consulting and engineering group based in Lakewood, Colorado.

Northland Cuts Significant Iron-Copper-Gold Mineralization at the Hannukainen Project, Finland

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 13, 2006) - Buck Morrow, the President of Northland Resources Inc. ("Northland") (TSX VENTURE:NAU - News; FWB:NBS)(NOTC:NAUR), is pleased to announce results from the Company's first-stage drill program at the 100% owned Hannukainen iron-oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) project in Northern Finland. Thirteen broad spaced holes were drilled, testing the flat-lying Laurinoja magnetite body at Hannukainen. Results confirm the presence of significant copper-gold mineralization associated with the magnetite body.
Results from the drilling are tabled below. The copper-gold values are also presented as gold equivalent (Au Eq. shown in bold) grades, calculated for each mineralized interval using prices of US$500/oz for gold and $2.50/lb for copper. This calculation does not incorporate any value for the iron grades present in the interval (also bolded).

All intervals are believed to be true thicknesses as the mineralized body ranges in dip from flat lying to a maximum of 15 degrees from the horizontal. A drill collar plan is available on Northland's website (www.northlandresourcesinc.com).

The weighted average interval and grade for mineralized intercepts in the 13 holes is 25.3m @ 39.2% Fe, 0.46% Cu and 0.33g/t Au.

Northland's previous work at Hannukainen included re-logging and re-assaying a number of historic boreholes stored in the government core archives. Part of the Hannukainen deposit was mined from 1982 to 1988 from the Laurinoja open pit. Approximately 4.5 million tonnes of magnetite ore were mined from Laurinoja at a grade of 43% Fe, 0.88% Cu and 1g/t Au.

Some 175 holes were re-logged and over 100 holes were re-assayed. Copper-gold grade thickness maps were produced which define a 1,000m by 400m, northeast-trending copper-gold zone within the magnetite body at Laurinoja extending through and beyond the historic pit area. The results of this work were published in Northland's press release dated November 7th 2005 titled "Northland Resources Identifies Major Copper-Gold Target at Hannukainen Mine, Finland" which is available on Northland's website.

Although no historic production records are available for specifically for the Laurinoja open pit other than some basic tonnage and grade figures, historic production records have been obtained for the nearby Rautuvaara underground mine which processed a blend of material mined from the Laurinoja open pit and material from the underground Rautuvaara mine. The blended ore was crushed and magnetic separation recovered 99.4% of the magnetite feed. The iron grade of this concentrate was 66.9% indicating a high yield. The tails of the magnetic separation were processed using flotation which recovered 94.7% of the copper and 75% of the gold in the tails with no apparent metallurgical complications. Copper-in-concentrate grade was reported to be 23.7%, and the gold-in-concentrate grade was 11.7g/t Au. The reader is cautioned that Northland has not yet performed the metallurgical testwork required to independently verify the Cu and Au recoveries quoted in the historic Rautuvaara production records.

Planned Work at Hannukainen

Two core rigs are being mobilized to the property and drilling is expected to recommence at Hannukainen before the end of September. The drill program will have the following objectives:

- To confirm the historic 66 million tonne iron-copper-gold resource and allow recalculation of the resource to NI 43-101 standards. (The existing resource estimate was prepared prior to the implementation of National Instrument 43-101 and does not use the resource categories stipulated in Section 1.3 of National Instrument 43-101, which are "inferred mineral resource", "indicated mineral resource" and "measured mineral resource". The Company believes that term "resources" is used differently from the use of that term in NI 43-101. The Company does not have - and is not aware of - any more recent resource estimates which conform to the standards laid out in NI 43-101 and the historical estimate should not be relied upon.)

- To expand this historic resource along the linear trend established by the re-logging program.

- To evaluate the adjacent iron-oxide-copper-gold targets in the Hannukainen belt and -where warranted- to advance these targets to the resource category.

Laurinoja is one of five known iron-copper-gold occurrences in the Hannukainen area. The other prospects, Lauku, Kuervaara, Vuopio and Kivivuopio, all exhibit the potential to host similar mineralized bodies to Laurinoja.

The Hannukainen area itself represents only one of a number of known iron-oxide-copper-gold type magnetite occurrences in the Kolari District, Finland that are currently being evaluated by Northland. The Company controls the mineral rights to a 50 km strike of the Pajala Shear Zone, the major structural feature that appears to localize the emplacement of these magnetite bodies. The belt straddles the border between Finland and Sweden. On the Swedish side, at the Stora Sahavara prospect which is roughly 25km from the Laurinojo open pit, the Company has defined a significant NI43-101 compliant iron resource with Cu credits (see Northland's press release dated May 18, 2006 "Northland Delivers NI43-101 Iron Ore Resource For Stora Sahavaara Project, Sweden").

NI43-101 Statement

Vance V. Thornsberry, P.Geol., Vice President of Exploration for Northland, is the Qualified Person as defined in NI 43-101, responsible for the design and execution of the Hannukainen drill program and re-assay program, and has verified that the drill intersections contained in this release are an accurate summary of the assay data received by the Company. Mr. Thornsberry has also verified that the historic information presented in this release has been accurately summarized from the reports quoted.

The core was cut at Northland's core facility in Kolari, Finland. A one-half split of the core was sent for preparation and analysis to the Geological Survey of Finland's Analytical Laboratory in Rovaniemi which is accredited according to the SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025 and in compliance with the requirements of the Standards Council of Canada (CAN-P-1579) "Guidelines for Accreditation of Mineral Analysis Testing Laboratories". The entire sample, representing approximately 3 kilograms was crushed and pulverized and a 150 gram split was submitted for analysis.

Iron and Copper analyses were performed using Sodium Peroxide Fusion multielement analysis with ICP-AES Technique, Method 720P and gold analysis was performed by Lead Fire Assay Preconcentration with ICP-AES Technique, Method 704P. In addition to the GTK internal sample preparation and assay QC protocol, Northland maintains a rigorous QA/QC program consisting of inserting blanks, duplicates and certified standards to the analytical process.

Buying Canadian juniors is a lot like buying lottery tickets. I didn\'t invent the term, several well-respected newsletter writers also call juniors lottery tickets. It\'s a good description and good way to think. Obviously not all lottery tickets pay off but when they do, there is a lot of money to be made. And you really increase your probability of success by buying a lot of lottery tickets. I can\'t tell you how many companies I like (and own) that often take years to get traction and start moving.

If you add to the concept of juniors being lottery tickets, the concept of buy-cheap, sell-dear, you really increase your chance of success. $.50 stocks double faster than $5 stocks. As companies grow in market capitalization (and price) they get harder to move. I was buying Newmont in the late 1990s in the $20 area. We had a major lifetime low in gold combined with a chance to buy one of the largest and best run companies in the business at a low price. So what\'s Newmont today? $48 bucks and change. I\'ve got juniors that go up the same 150% in a month.

Look carefully at the range in price of juniors. It\'s common to have a yearly high some 400% higher than yearly lows. I see way too much attention paid to specifics, everyone wants to compare drill results. Screw drill results, if you do nothing but buy juniors when they hit a new yearly low and sell when they hit yearly highs, you will make a lot more money than the guys using rulers and mumbo jumbo. Don\'t take this as being some kind of rocket science, it\'s not. It\'s investing based on human foibles.

Buy lots of cheap lottery tickets and you will do well. If they actually have good management and some company making projects, all the better.

We have seen a major correction in world stock markets and share prices for companies in the Jordan Fund (JF) portfolio have reached very interesting levels. This is a golden opportunity to invest or to increase positions.

Northland Resources (NAU.V) 1,09 CAD - Website
Listing at unoterte in Oslo is done, and together with redemption from warrant exercising Northland is sitting on US$22-million in cash. There are now 62.6-million shares fully diluted (FD).

When the JF last wrote about Northland in February, we felt that they would report about 100 million tonnes of iron ore in their NI 43-101 resource calculation for Stora Sahavaara, but they easily surpassed this by reporting 144 million tonnes. At a production rate of 7.0 to 7.5-million tonnes to produce 5 million tons iron concentrates/pellets on an annual basis, this gives them about 20 years production. They now need a bankable feasibility study in order to bring in the financing to start up mining operations. The in-situ value of 144-million tonnes of iron ore (which we believe is comparable to 9.8 million ounces of gold equivalent) at today's prices, using a sale price of US$60/t for iron concentrates, and a conservative estimate of 2% of the gross in situ value for the iron in the ground, gives us approximately US$120-million or CAD$2.13 /share, and that is just for Stora Sahavaara.

Within one month they will be drilling on 3 projects at the same time: Stora Sahavaara, Hannukainen and Barsele, and JF thinks that there is a good chance that results could almost double the existing NI43-101 compliant resources. The projects in Finland have been drilled before, and there is over 200 kilometres of drilling core available already, so Northland needs only to assay the historic holes in order to convert them into NI 43-101 compliant resources. This leads us to believe that the drilling program that just commenced will be effective and cheap. The target is to prove-up the historical 66 million tonnes at Hannukainen, and to increase the Stora Sahavaara resource by 60 million tonnes. JF would like to stress that the potential copper and gold by-products within these historical resources are a bonus which conservatively amount to 3-million ounces of gold equivalent.

Using some simple mathematics we can now envision Northland starting up two sizeable iron projects within a reasonable timeframe (5+5 million tonnes) and the development or sale of Barsele, so the only question mark is financing. A possible solution could be to finance through a deal with a European steel producer with debt against forward production. With increasing activity from Northland lately, JF thinks that it could be possible for an earlier production start than we had previously assumed.

LKAB has a cash cost including mining, milling and transports of approximately US$35/tonne, but Northland has open pit potential which gives lower unit costs and we believe that US$30/tonne is a more appropriate estimate. With a start up at 2 million tonnes this would generate net cash flow of US$40-million per year using a conservative calculation based on US$50/tonne for the iron concentrates. Prices for 2006 have increased by 19 % and US$60/tonne would increase cash flow to US$60-million per year. Should 2 parallel mining operations come on stream with 5+5 million tons from year 4, it would mean US$300-million at today's prices.

In summary, JF believes that with the value of potential production from Northland's projects, and its up coming dual listing on the Oslo Bors this fall, we can envision a share price of CAD$2.50 for Northland.

(TSX VENTURE:NAU)(FWB:NBS) ("Northland"), is pleased to announce that drilling is underway again at the Hannukainen iron-copper-gold project in Finland and the Barsele gold project in Sweden. One rig is currently on each project. A third drill rig is scheduled to arrive on September 28th to complete a large diameter core program at the Stora Sahavaara iron project in Sweden as part of the ongoing metallurgical testwork program there.

The Company expects to maintain an aggressive drill program for its key projects throughout the third quarter of 2006 and most of 2007 and is moving to complete the first NI43-101 compliant resource calculation for the Hannukainen project by the end of the first quarter of next year. Northland's geologists will also be working on a revised NI43-101 resource for the Barsele gold project as soon as the current round of drilling is complete.

Hannukainen Project

The Hannukainen iron-copper-gold project in northern Finland is 100% Northland owned. It is accessible by sealed road and is situated within 10km of a maintained rail head that was constructed to haul iron ore. Part of the Hannukainen deposit was mined from 1982 to 1988 from the Laurinoja open pit. Approximately 4.5 million tonnes of magnetite ore were mined from Laurinoja at a grade of 43% Fe, 0.88% Cu and 1 g/t Au. Northland has been conducting a systematic program of relogging core from archived bore holes, and conducting its own drill programs.

The Company recently announced the results of a 13 hole program at Hannukainen, testing the flat-lying Laurinoja magnetite body (see News Release dated Sept 13, 2006 "Northland Cuts Significant Iron-Copper-Gold Mineralization at the Hannukainen Project, Finland). The results confirmed the presence of significant copper-gold mineralization associated with the magnetite body. Highlights included hole 005 which returned 0.81% Cu, 0.57 g/t Au and 39.7% Fe over 29.1m, and hole 013 which returned 0.74% Cu, 0.73 g/t Au and 38.8% Fe over 20.7m.

As a result of the success of the first stage of the program, Northland's management have decided to expand the planned 10,000m drill program that was announced on May 9 of this year to a total of 20,000m. The objectives are to test the strike and depth extent of the Cu-Au bearing zone and to test at least one of the satellite magnetite bodies which occur close to the Laurinoja open pit.

Stora Sahavaara Iron Project, Sweden

The Stora Sahavaara iron project lies within the same geological belt as the Hannukainen iron-copper-gold project. The iron deposit occurs as a continuous magnetite body containing copper mineralization in the form of chalcopyrite. It has been delineated along 1,300m of surface strike length with an average true width of 52m and is known to extend to at least 750m down dip.

In May, 2006 Northland published the first NI43-101 compliant resource for the Stora Sahavaara project which, using a 25% Fe cut off, contained the following tonnage and grades (see Northland press release dated May 18, 2006 "Northland Delivers NI43-101 Iron Ore Resource For Stora Sahavaara Project, Sweden").

Northland will have one rig at Stora Sahavaara from September 28th. The rig will complete a 1,000m large diameter coring program to provide material for the ongoing metallurgical testwork program. Once this has been completed, the rig is expected to move to Hannukainen to assist in completion of the 20,000m program there.

Barsele Gold Project, Sweden

Drilling is also underway at the Barsele gold project where Northland's geologists are planning approximately 8,000m of core drilling. The objectives of the program are two fold: firstly, to upgrade the confidence level in the existing resource calculation (see below) and convert inferred resources to indicated resources, and secondly to add new gold resources in areas that lie outside the existing resource that have not yet been tested or incorporated into the current resource.

In a news release dated March 1, 2006 Northland announced the results of the most recent NI43-101 compliant gold resource calculation for the 100%-owned Barsele-Norra gold project. The calculation was audited by Chlumsky Armbrust & Meyer LLC, an independent, mineral resource, consulting and engineering group based in Lakewood, Colorado. Using a 0.7 g/t Au cut off the indicated and inferred resources are:

NORTHLAND RESOURCES ARRANGES C$30-MILLION FINANCING

Northland Resources Inc. has arranged a private placement of 24,303,000 shares at a price of 7.25 kronor per share (approximately $1.25 (Canadian) per share) through Pareto Securities ASA and Pareto Private Equity ASA of Oslo, Norway. As consideration for acting as agent, Pareto will be paid a commission equal to 5.5 per cent of the subscription proceeds realized from the sale of the shares. Shares are being sold only to subscribers who are non-Canadian residents. The shares will be subject to a statutory holding period such that they cannot be resold through the facilities of the TSX Venture Exchange or otherwise in Canada for a period of four months and one day from their issue. With the closing of this financing the company will have sufficient working capital to meet the listing requirements of the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE), and will be fully financed for the next three years of development work on its three main projects. A prospectus to obtain an OSE listing has been filed with the OSE and a response is anticipated before month end. The proceeds of the placement will be used to advance the exploration and development of Northland's projects in Sweden and Finland, in particular for:

Jetzt das Problem.
In den nächsten Monaten dürften wieder News kommen (nicht wie im Sommer) und diese dürften den Kurs wieder weiter nach oben treiben. Da fällt das verkaufen nicht nur schwer, es ist geradezu unmöglich. Schließlich haben die gerade Cash angeschafft. Damit sind fleißige Bohrungen vorprogrammiert.

nee, gibt es keine.
ich war vor 2 wochen auf einem steuerseminar. dort war die neue abgeltungssteuer natürlich auch ein thema. es sieht derzeit vom ablauf her so aus, dass der termin 1.1.08 schon fast gar nicht mehr zu schaffen ist. bis ein vorgesehenes gesetz mit den einzelen verbänden -hier auch den banken, kirchen usw.- abgestimmt ist, dauert es idr 12 - 15 monate. dieser abstimmungsprozess hat aber bisher noch nicht einmal begonnen. bisher wird nur aufs blaue hinein der ein oder andere vorschlag gemacht bzw. diskutiert. wobei in dieser diskussion schon so viele meinungsverschiedenheiten und problematiken auftauchen, dass einzelne verbände dieses thema nicht weiter vorantreiben wollen.
zusammenfassend kann man sagen, dass die abgeltungssteuer frühestens 2009 kommt, wenn überhaupt!

Guten Abend

Nach fast 18 Monaten und gut 200% Gewinn, ist es an der Zeit Gewinne einzufahren. Ich habe eben begonnen meine Position in Northland aufzulösen. Ich werde sukzessive zwischen 1,20 und 1,50 verkaufen.

Meine Gründe hierfür sind die zu erwartende Dilution und vor allem die möglicherweise letzte grosse Chance mit einer grossen Stückzahl in eine neue Aktie zu "steuerfreien Bedingungen" einzusteigen.

Ab Dezember, und so lange könnte sich die Verkauferei hinziehen, werde ich International Tower Hill Mines agressiv akquirieren. Ich sehe dort auf Jahressicht ab dann eine weit grössere Chance auf mindestens 100%, als bei Northland.

Ich werde keinen Druck ausüben und nicht ins Bid schmeissen. Die paar Stücke sollte die Aktie locker verdauen können.

Nanana, es sind 2, von denen ich nach wie vor glaube, dass sie Potential haben, aber eben nicht das grosse Potential. Ich habe ne Menge Geld in den Beiden und brauch' es in der Tat für ITH, die weit weniger riskant ist, als du glaubst

Ich geh halt grundsätzlich mit viel Einsatz an solche Sachen ran und es hat bisher ganz gut funktioniert.

(TSXV:NAU) is pleased to advise that the Company has closed the private placement financing announced in its September 26, 2006 news release of 24,303,000 shares, and has received net proceeds, after commission, of NOK 166,505,929 (approximately CAD$28-million). Pareto Private Equity ASA and Pareto Securities ASA of Oslo, Norway acted as the agents in selling the offering.

The 24,303,000 shares will commence trading on the Norwegian OTC list on October 17, 2006 under the ticker NRIR and ISIN CA6665272051. The shares have a hold period in Canada of four months and one day following the commencement of trading of the Company's shares on the Oslo Stock Exchange, which is anticipated to be on October 23, 2006.

The Company has also allocated an additional 1,929,790 shares, sold through Pareto by way of a public offering in Norway, to primarily retail investors. The issue price will be NOK 7.25 per share, similar to the issue price in the private placement financing. These and all other issued shares of Northland will trade on the Oslo Stock Exchange (and no longer on the Norwegian OTC list) as of the proposed listing date of October 23, 2006. The public offering will provide additional net proceeds to the Company of approximately $2.2-million.

The proceeds from both offerings will be used to advance the exploration and development of Northland's projects in Sweden and Finland. Northland's current cash position is approximately $47-million including the $28-million.

Background

Drilling of large diameter core samples for metallurgical test work is currently underway and Northland has contracted Corus Consulting to plan and supervise the test work (see Northland News Release dated June 29, 2006).

- The Barsele gold project in central Sweden. Northland has been steadily expanding the gold resource at Barsele and published its most recent update in March 2006 (see Northland News Release dated March 1, 2006). A drill rig is currently on site at Barsele. Northland hopes through the current drilling to expand to resources to approximately 20-22Mt of ore grading between 1.5 to 1.7g/t Au.

- An extensive portfolio of early stage Cu-Au targets in northern Sweden and Finland, of which the Palotieva Cu-Au target is just one example (see Northland news release dated June 26, 2006.)

Das waren ja meine grossen Bedenken. Es herrscht hier in 4 Monaten ein Overhang von 50mio Stücken bis ca. 1,60. Die muss man erstmal verdauen! Dieser Verdauungsprozess kann länger dauern, als das Cash reicht, da sie, und das ist ja nix schlechtes, viel vorhaben. Sie haben sie zu früh diluted und deshalb trenne ich mich, wenn auch mit schwerem Herzen.

"Well, at least there's no warrant attached. We dislike the additional dilution, but as undervalued as the company is, it can take it. And we understand the company's desire for a full Olso listing, which made this financing necessary (European markets are more interested in the iron side of NAU's story than the north american markets). Also, it's not a bad thing to have all the money needed for years of exploration and development in hand. NAU now has the luxury of being able to proceed with its development plans, regardless of what fluctuations in metals prices the next couple years bring."

These have apparently had a lid effect on the share price in Toronto. If my information is correct, one million of them were outstanding as of a week ago. Out of curiosity I tracked the Toronto trading from early September and have published the data in a table on a Norwegian BB:

The table will be updated aprox. twice a week. In the BB the first two tables are Northland traded in Oslo. NAUR-R shares cannot be transferred between OSX and TSX till mid February and are therefore traded under a separate code.

After Buck Morrows and the brokerage house Pareto held a PP roadshow things have quieted down here. Some impatient PP'ers bail out. Seems like employing an IR will take time.

Joergen, sorry to disagree with ya. Giving someone control of our shares is crazy talk. I trust myself with my money more than anyone else. Although, I do agree put Northland away for a few years...she will be worth 10x what it is now. Hang on, sit back and enjoy the ride. Latest rumour is Anglo American is going to buy out Northlands for $7.00/per share. No idea on time frame, or if this rumour has any truth. But with our assets(2 43-101 compliant properties-will be 3 by April) $7.00 would be a steal for AA. Just my two cents. Jays

Nein, ich konnte bisher nur einen Teil verkaufen und bin recht ungehalten darüber. Um es mal vorsichtig auszudrücken. Ich denke auch schon ernsthaft darüber nach, ob ich nicht doch weiter runter geh. Aber ich glaube halt auch, dass sie mehr wert ist.

Ich weiß nicht ob nachgeben der richtige Weg ist. Wenn ich mir Deutschland so anschau, ist das eher lethargisch und man macht hier nur das nach was in Canada vorgemacht wird. In Canada wird mit relativ kleinem Vol. der Kurs runtergeprügelt. In DK scheint man da eher recht euphorisch oder entspannt zu sein. Gestern stand der Kurs in Oslo bei 7,06 DKK was so 0,95 Euronen sind.

Ich denke ich werde noch eine weile die Füße ruhig halten denn die 0,79 cent die im Moment in FFM geboten werden sind nicht gerechtfertigt.

Northland Exercises its Option Over the Pajala Properties, Sweden

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 4, 2007) - Mr. Buck Morrow, President of Northland Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:NAU - News; FWB:NBS)(OSE:NAUR), ("Northland") is very pleased to announce that Northland is exercising its option to acquire 100% of the Pajala properties in northern Sweden from Anglo American Exploration B.V. ("Anglo"). The Pajala properties host the Stora Sahavaara magnetite project, which Northland has been exploring for the last 2 years, as well as a number of iron-oxide-copper-gold targets.
On January 2, 2007, Northland formally notified Anglo in writing that it has fulfilled all of its obligations under the Amended and Restated Option, Royalty and Back in Agreement dated April 5, 2005 (see Northland News Release dated December 8, 2004). Specifically, Northland has:

- Delivered a total of 325,980 common shares in Northland to Anglo in two tranches;

- Incurred over US$1.4-million in exploration expenses against a requirement to spend US$1-million within 2 years of signing of the Agreement.

Background

The Pajala properties host the Stora Sahavaara magnetite body which was originally discovered in the 1960s. Northland has been exploring Stora Sahavaara for the last 2 years and is currently completing the permitting to extract a 1,000 tonne bulk sample from the body. In May 2006, Northland completed and published a NI43-101 compliant resource calculation for Stora Sahavaara (See Northland Press Release dated May 18, 2006). Using a 25% Fe cut off, the study delineated:

Wenn NAU sich in seinem Aufwärtstrend hält und genauso performt wie Anfang des letzten Jahres, dann hätten wir bis April/Anfang Mai Kurse > 2 Euro.

Deswegen habe ich auch nicht bei 0,90 Euro verkauft.

Hallo Tasche,

bin ja mir ehrlich geasgt auch etwas unsicher, was ich mit NAU machen soll. Halten oder verkaufen. Habe die letzten Tage über über eine Teilrealisierung nachgedacht. Neono ist ja bereits auch (unter einem Euro) ausgestiegen, um in ITH umzuschichten.

Auf der anderen Seite denken ich bei dem aktuellen Kursanstieg ohne News an letztes Jahr um diese Zeit. Würde mich ärgern, wenn ich jetzt um einen Euro aussteige und im Mai stehen wir dann z.B. 60% oder 100 % höher. Wie du siehst, habe ich für ein Wette noch nicht genügend eigene Überzeugung.

Na Tasche du willst doch nicht bei deinem Lieblingsbaby (OSK)weiter erhöhen und deshalb hier aussteigen?
Ansonsten sollten hier nicht mal neue Bohrergebnisse anstehen, war doch im September mal Thema nachdem die Bohrprogramme angekündigt wurden? Vielleicht ist woanders was durchgesickert, ich weiß ist immer eine etwas alberne Hoffnung bzw. Begründung, aber mangels stichhaltiger Info's halt die einzige.

Potenzial.... wie gesagt, sie ist nicht am Ende, aber eine Marketcap von mehr als 200mio Dollar sehe ich auf Dauer nicht. Dazu der Overhang von 50mio Aktien, die zu 1,25 und 1,50 ausgegeben wurden. Das kann dauern. 100% von hier wird schierig.

91,071,993 Aktien fully diluted sind mir halt a bisserl viel. Das ist ja nimmer kontrollierbar und selbst in Skandinavien sind alle potentiellen Investoren mal gefunden und investiert. Mal davon abgesehen, die Hälfte ist seit gestern auch bei mir raus, und mit der anderen weiss ich noch nicht so recht...

Stora in Produktion vielleicht 2010 oder 2011 (wobei ich doch schon einige Werte habe, die erst dann in Produktion gehen), aber noch keine Anhaltpspunkte für die Wirtschaftlichkeit und Hannukainen weiß man nicht - mal sehen, ob ich den rest als "mal sehen, wann was draus wird" stehen lassen kann oder ob mich meine Gierangst wieder packt...

Bei unter einem Euro werde ich wohl auch wieder einsteigen. Ist ja kein schlechtes Invest aber andere haben derzeit besseres Potential, zumal es bei NAU noch etwas dauert bis die Produktion sichtbar wird und mit den vielen neuen Aktien kommt der Kurs sicherlich wieder unter Druck.

Vancouver, January 24, 2007: Buck Morrow, the President of Northland Resources Inc ("Northland") is pleased to announce that it has now received a permit to collect a 1,000 tonne bulk sample from its 100% owned Stora Sahavaara iron-copper project in Norrbotten County, northern Sweden. The Company is finalizing contract negotiations with a general excavation company to extract the material and they are expected to begin mobilization to the site as early as next week.

The permit application was approved at a meeting of the Environmental Committee of Norrbotten County Administration Board today (January 24,2007).

In June 2006, the Company retained Corus Consulting to supervise a
comprehensive investigation of the optimum treatment route for magnetite ore from Stora Sahavaara (see news release dated June 29,
2006). Their work- in addition to the design and supervision of the
bulk sampling program- will comprise of a testwork program to determine the optimum beneficiation route for the ore, development of a flowsheet, and a pelletizing testwork program. Corus are also working on a market review to identify current supply and demand for various iron ore products and to determine the most appropriate product mix for the Stora Sahavaara material and identify potential customers.

Northland has delineated a NI43-101 compliant resource at Stora Sahavaara (see news release dated May 18, 2006). Using a 25% Fe cut
off, the magnetite body contains:

Schon möglich, mit ein bisschen "Fortune" - aber:

... wird vor dem möglichen Rückschlagpotential aufgrund der vielen Neu-Aktien gewarnt?
... der Produktionbeginn in 2009 ist schon optimistisch

Sicherlich hat die Aktie Potenzial, sonst wären wir hier nicht bereits vor 1,5 Jahren bei (€ 0,40 bis € 0,48) eingestiegen. Und natürlich wurmt es mich ehrlich gesagt schon, dass ich bereits bei € 1,32 komplett ausgestiegen bin und der Kurs jetzt so getrieben wird. Aber unterm Strich bin ich trotzdem sehr zufrieden. Den optimalen Kauf- und Verkaufs-Zeitpunkt erwischt man eben nie ...

Und die Faktenlage hat sich seit dem Ausstieg bei NAU nicht geändert. Woher also diese Euphorie ?

Hier ist wohl Geduld angesagt, die aber reichlich belohnt wird!

Auszug: Am Donnerstag vergangener Woche gab die Gesellschaft bekannt, dass man die Genehmigung für die Entnahme eines 1000 Tonnen schweren Gesteinsmusters im schwedischen Stora Sahavaara-Projekt erhalten habe. Die Gesteinsproben sollen nun so schnell als möglich entnommen und über die Sommermonate hinweg analysiert werden. 2010 könnte die
Mine bereist in Produktion gehen und für einen Gewinn in Höhe von NOK 9 je Aktie sorgen, was das KGV des Titels auf weniger als 2 (!) zurückwerfen würde.

Taking it to the Market
Simon Ridgway will tell you right away that luck is a big factor in any mining project. As he sat down with us at this year’s AME Round-up conference in Vancouver, Ridgway freely admitted he had not anticipated that one advantage of exploring in Scandinavia could be a surge of investor interest from capital-rich European markets. “It’s a pleasant surprise,” said Ridgway, showing his flare for understatement. Pleasant, indeed. By listing Northland Resources on the Norwegian stock exchange, Ridgway has unlocked an enormous source of liquidity for his company.

It all began with a presentation to a Swedish investment club called the Jordan Fund in December 2005. Immediately afterward, the Swedes went out and bought up over one and a half million shares, taking the stock from CAD$0.60 to CAD$1.00. The following month, Northland made another presentation in Stockholm with a similar result: the following day another one million shares had traded hands. It was clear that Scandinavians better understood the strategic value of Northland’s iron ore deposits within the region. It didn’t take long for Ridgway to figure out that a wellspring of investment capital in Scandinavia was waiting to be tapped.

Northland Resources was in a strange bind. North American investors were disregarding the iron ore half of their story, while European investors cared only about the iron ore, but were not giving Northland any value for its precious metals deposits. “Trying to market Northland in North America, the only value you could get was for the gold deposit,” remembers Ridgway. “Nobody would give us a dime for the iron ore deposit.”

Ridgway looked at all the European stock markets. In the end, he chose to put Northland Resources on the Oslo Børs rather than the London AIM. The Oslo Børs was far cheaper to list on. Plus, being one of only a handful of mining stocks traded on the Børs doesn’t hurt either. Competition is minimal, and the icing on the cake is that financing deals done on the Børs don’t include warrants, making them far less dilutive to shareholder value.

It was in October 2006 that Northland Resources completed its launch on the Oslo Børs. Investor interest perked up, slowly at first and then quickly gaining momentum on the basis of just a few positive news releases. Northland has traded about 37-million shares on the TSX Venture over the last 12 months. By comparison, in January 2007 alone, 32 million Northland shares changed hands, including 22 million on the Oslo Børs. It’s been a veritable windfall for Northland investors on both exchanges. On the TSX-V, Northland was at CAD$1.20 at the time of the Oslo listing. Since then, it has climbed steadily, seeing highs of CAD$2.75. The Oslo side has seen a similar increase in price, going from NOK7.5 to highs of NOK14.7.

Of course, given that Northland Resources was recommended in Doug Casey’s International Speculator in the June 2005 edition when the stock was trading at just CAD$0.45, subscribers to that publication can only be thrilled, sitting on a possible return of over 550% in under two years. How will the suddenly cash-flush Northland Resources use its newfound wealth? The company can now afford to take 1 000 tonne bulk samples, currently in process. It also plans to add more drill rigs, raising the total to six rigs by March 2007. Importantly, with the financing pressure removed, management can focus on moving their deposits toward production.

Iron ore prices have doubled over the last three years, up to approximately USD$80 / ton. Europe is consuming far more iron ore (about 180 million tons) than it produces (a mere 25 million tons). More importantly, management believes that the Hannukainen project can be put into production swiftly and without major additional expense.

Putting Northland Resources on the Oslo stock exchange allowed the company to get value for its iron resources. Now investors from both sides of the pond are converging on the Northland story, waking up to the fact that this play has more than one angle.

Ridgway may not have anticipated this sort of attention from European investors when he decided to go after projects in Scandinavia, but he’ll happily reap the rewards. It’s further proof of the motto of the Explorer’s League, another case of how fortune favors the bold.

ich beziehe börse inside schon seit ca 4 jahren und habe deren empfehlungen stück für stück beobachtet..und verfolgt...die sind gut, ganz ehrlich.
ich beziehe "hot stocks europe" und habe durch diesen börsen brief schon mehrmals mehr als 100% machen können, danach habe ich es gelassen und habe es bitter bereut

Genau dieser Mann ist verantwortlich für die jetzige Aufnahme von Northland in das Musterdepot von Financel Fortune.

Der Mann ist sehr seriös und sein "Richer" hatte bisher eine super Trefferquote.

Mir ging es um deine flapsige Formulierung "frag nicht und behalte sie einfach ...". Das ist einfach keine qualitative Aussage.

Und da Börse Inside, die ich auch (schon länger als 4 Jahre) beobachte, oft mit reißerischen Informationen angiert, ist meine Kritik durchaus berechtigt. Siehe z.B. Mount Burgess Mininig empfohlen Nov. 04 zu € 0,11 / heute € 0,041 -> -63%, Tsodilo Res. Okt. 04 zu € 1,41 / heute € 0,47 -> -68%). Natürlich sind ab und zu auch mal gute Empfehlungen dabei, aber in der Summe liegt das von mir nachgebildetet Musterdepot von Börse Inside derzeit bei -34 %!

Gerade aus dem von Dir zitierten Anspruch an diesen Thread habe ich hier in der Sache begründet Kritik geäußert bzw. Fragen gestellt. Es geht hier wirklich nicht ums stänkern! Northland's Metallurgical Testwork at Stora Sahavaara Produces Viable Pellet Feed

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 12, 2007) - Buck Morrow, the President of Northland Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:NAU)(FWB:NBS)(OSE:NAUR), is pleased to report that the Company has received positive results from recent bench-scale flotation tests carried out by SGS Lakefield Research Ltd., and supervised by Corus Consulting, on a representative sample of magnetite ore from the Stora Sahavaara iron project in Sweden.

The preliminary test results demonstrate that Stora Sahavaara can potentially produce a magnetite concentrate suitable for manufacturing both high quality blast furnace and direct-reduction iron ore pellets.

The magnetite samples for the test were taken from large diameter core holes drilled during the current winter season. Bench-scale testwork demonstrated that a conventional magnetic separation and flotation process can produce a commercial quality, low-silica, low-sulfur, low-phosphorus, magnetite concentrate with the iron grade ranging from 67% to 67.6%. Silica content ranged from 1.13% to 1.20% silica, phosphorus less than 0.01% and sulfur content in the range of 0.05% to 0.07%.

Further tests are planned to verify and optimize the overall process and improve the iron recovery by improving liberation and further optimizing the reagent suite. The combined results of these bench-scale tests will be used primarily to aid in the design of the pilot-plant scale continuous test program. This will process material collected in Northland's 1,000 tonne bulk sampling program with the objective of proving the flowsheet. Excavation of the bulk sample is underway and the first fresh, unweathered material is expected to be mined later in February.

A global market report prepared for Northland by Corus Consulting concludes that global pellet consumption is expected to grow from 319 Mt in 2005 to approximately 520 Mt in 2015: an average annual growth rate of 5%. The strongest growth in demand -potentially as high as 8% year-on-year- is forecast to be for Direct Reduction grade pellets. Corus Consulting also reports that the use of iron ore pellets, replacing other burden material in the blast furnace, can contribute to the efforts of steel makers to reduce CO2 emissions in light of the European Union emission polices and the Carbon Trading Scheme now in effect in Europe. Steelmakers can potentially reduce their "carbon footprint" by more than 10% through the use of pellets.

Buck Morrow states: "The bench scale work is not only promising for the production of a high quality pellet and pellet feed but will serve as the foundation for the continuing test work from the large scale bulk sample. Northland's careful, systematic approach to developing a quality pellet product aimed at the European and Middle Eastern markets has been significantly advanced. Our goal at Northland is to be a reliable, long term, quality conscious, environmentally friendly, and cost effective supplier of iron ore pellets and pellet feed. The work we're doing now is the first small but significant step towards attaining that goal."

Northland has delineated a NI43-101 compliant resource at Stora Sahavaara (see news release dated May 18, 2006). Using a 25% Fe cut off, the magnetite body contains:

The work was performed under the supervision of Paul Marsden, Project Director, Corus Consulting. Mr. Marsden is a member of the IMMM, a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Scientist and is the Qualified Person as defined in NI 43-101 responsible for overseeing the design and execution of the metallurgical testwork program at Stora Sahavaara.

Vance V. Thornsberry, P.Geol., Vice-President of Exploration for Northland Resources, is the Qualified Person as defined in NI43-101, and has verified that the information presented in this release has been accurately summarized from the results received by Northland from SGS Lakefield Research Ltd. of Lakefield, Ontario, Canada.

Resource estimates were prepared by third party consultant (Bart Stryhas, PhD Structural Geology); the resource model and estimates were subsequently reviewed by Chlumsky Armbrust & Meyer L.L.C. ("CAM") an independent, mineral resource, consulting and engineering group based in Lakewood, Colorado, USA. CAM believes that the Stora Sahavaara resource and resource model have been prepared according to accepted engineering practice for a project at this level of development.

Highlights
NORTHLAND RESOURCES (WKN A0F6DK) hat in dieser Woche die Bohrergebnisse des schwedischen Eisenerzprojekts Stora Sahavaara veröffentlicht.

Die Ergebnisse waren so positiv, dass das norwegische Investmenthaus Pareto Securities gestern die Kaufempfehlung für die Aktie bekräftigt und den fairen Wert auf NOK 28 (akt. NOK 13.90) angehoben hat.

Ist Stora Sahavaara in Betrieb kann das Projekt ein jährliches EBIT von USD 200 Mio. abwerfen (aktueller Börsenwert USD 180 Mio.) Das KGV von NORTHLAND sinkt damit in den kommenden Jahren auf 1.7!

Nicht berücksichtigt in dieser Rechnung ist das finnische Eisen- und Titanerzprojekt Hannukainen, wo die Ergebnisse der entscheidenden dritten Bohrrunde für die nächsten 14 Tage angekündigt wurden.

Die bisherigen zwei Bohrrunden waren positiv, entsprechend hoch ist die Chance, dass diese Ergebnisse durch die dritten Bohrungen bestätigt werden.

Ist dies der Fall, würde NORTHLAND eine komplette Neubewertung erfahren: Das Projekt könnte ein jährliches EBIT von USD 400 Mio. bringen und NORTHLAND in die Liga der grössten europäischen Eisen- und Titanerzproduzenten katapultieren!

Die Analysten von Pareto Securities haben für diesen Fall eine Anhebung des Kurszieles auf über NOK 40 (aktuell NOK 13.90) angekündigt, was 200% Potenzial bedeutet!
