      India`s Mobile-Telecom Market !!!!

Mit einem Handy Wachstum von ca. 5%. Oder 283.939 Kunden im Monat April auf 6,7 Mil. Kunden hat Indien Fast die Gleichen Wachstum zahlen wie China. China Hat jetzt im April 167 Mil. Handy Kunden.

Der Grosse Rest geht an die Bharti Gruppe auch genannt http://www.airtelworld.com/, AirTel comes to you from Bharti Cellular Ltd. A consortium of giants in the telecommunication business.

      IOP: Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited

25% vom Indischen Markt 1,697,000 customers as of April 30, 2002 ca.

      Monday, April 08, 2002

On Feb 17, Sunil Mittal, founder of Bharti Group, hit the gong at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) to announce the listing of his BhartiTele Ventures` new shares. That day was also memorable for BSE since it could now boast its own `listing ceremony` a la New York Stock Exchange.
Mittal raised $177 million (Rs 834 crore) in a tough market. The IPO was oversubscribed over 2.5 times.

      India and Indian Telecommunications Industry

India is the world`s largest democracy in terms of population and had a real GNP on purchasing power parity basis of approximately US$2.4 trillion for 2000, making it the fourth largest economy in the world, after the United States, China and Japan, as per the World Development Report for 2000 - 2001.

India has a large pool of qualified and experienced professionals in various disciplines, particularly in information technology. English is widely spoken among professionals and in the business community as well as in many Government offices across India. Successive Governments, since 1990, have laid emphasis on economic reforms resulting in lesser controls and liberalisation of economic policies.

The cellular and fixed-line penetration levels in India are lower than those in most developed countries in the world, offering significant potential for growth in the telecommunications industry. In recent years, the Indian telecommunications industry has experienced high growth. The total number of cellular subscribers in India has increased from approximately 1.2 million as of March 31, 1999 to approximately 6.71 million as of April 30, 2002. The number of cellular subscribers in India is expected to show rapid growth over the next four years. For example,

the COAI estimates that cellular subscribers will grow to approximately 50 million by 2005; and

Gartner estimates the cellular subscribers will grow to approximately 31 million by 2005.
