IPAC announces a company-wide reorganisation.
Company to focus on its traditional hot lot fast turn business and aggressively pursue the full production of its new Mold Array Package Family
The company has implemented a reduction-in-force of 86 employees, which represent approximately 30% of the total workforce. Patrick Verderico, president and CEO, and Richard Oshiro, vice president, quality, have resigned their executive positions with the company. Mr. Verderico will continue to serve as a member of the board of directors. Mr. Edmond Tseng, chairman of the board of IPAC, has been appointed the new chief executive officer of the company.
" As a result of these actions, IPAC will focus on its traditional hot lot fast turn business and aggressively pursue the full production of its new Mold Array Package Family," said Edmond Tseng. " Customer demand for the new Mold Array Package Family has been strong and should aid the continued growth of the company. With these changes, we will be better positioned to return IPAC to profitability."
IPAC is a leading independent North American semiconductor packaging foundry dedicated to assembling surface mount integrated circuits with fast cycle times. The company`s close proximity to its customers allows it to provide quick turnaround, concurrent engineering, and timely delivery for both high volume production orders as well as engineering samples.

OSE announces record high monthly revenue
Revenues up 29% in November as company moves into niche areas
such as Bluetooth® modules and SiP
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. Taipei , Taiwan , Dec 8, 2003¡K Orient Semiconductor Electronics (OSE) (TSE: 2329) today announced November 2003 revenue of NTD 1.41 billion, up 8 percent sequentially and up 29 percent year-over-year. The company reported that this was the fifth consecutive month that sales increased.
¡§Group sales are picking up in line with the general upswing in the global technology industry,¡¨ said Edward Duh, president, OSE. ¡§In the semiconductor division we are seeing an increase in outsourcing from our large customers, such as Infineon, as they utilize our more advanced system-in-package (SIP)* technologies.¡¨
Stricter requirements for higher performance and smaller footprints in the global testing and packaging industry continue to boost demand for stacked packages, SIP, and other integrated designs that use technologies such as ball-grid array (BGA) and chip-scale according to recent analysts comments.
¡§Continued orders from clients such as Infineon has proved the success of OSE¡¦s strategic product mix transformation,¡¨ said Duh.
In its Finished Products Group (FPG) OSE also announced that it would supply Infineon Technologies AG with complete Bluetooth® modules and Bluetooth® RF modules for 3G cellular phones and hands-free automobile applications. OSE currently has capacity to produce 30 million Bluetooth® modules per year for its global customers.
OSE noted a sharp increase in orders for wireless applications as consumers and corporates rapidly adopt the technology. Wireless products such as Bluetooth® modules, 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN products, global positioning systems (GPS) and wireless routers now account for 40% of revenue in OSE¡¦s FPG.
About Orient Semiconductor Electronics (OSE)

The Finished Products Group is among the top 30 worldwide in the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) industry. The Semiconductor Group is ranked among the top five internationally in the IC packaging and testing industry.
