An Australien glaube ich nach wie vor wegen der Geologie und der bisherigen Tests. Risiko ist da der NT Politiker, der da nicht weiß dass in den USA inzwischen rund 2 mio Fracs gepumpt wurden, jedoch den Gasland Film für bare Münze nimmt.
An SA kann man glauben, könnte funktionieren. Müßte man zur Bestätigung noch ein paar Bohrungen bohren. Aber auch dort gibt es eine lautstarke Minderheit die meint mit Fracverhinderung die Welt retten zu können, ohne eine technisch, chemisch, wirtschaftlich machbare Alterative für Erdgas zu haben. Ist ja für grüne Maschinenstürmer und Luddisten auch viel schwieriger als einfach dagegen zu sein.

Lock the Gate apologises for false allegations made to the NT Scientific Inquiry
Lock the Gate has formally apologised for the false allegations it made to the Scientific Inquiry into Hydraulic Fracturing in the Northern Territory last week that sought to undermine the integrity of the Inquiry and deliberately damage Origin’s reputation.
The false allegations concerned Origin’s Amungee NW-1H well in the Beetaloo Basin.
In seeking an apology from Lock the Gate’s spokesperson Naomi Hogan; Inquiry Chair, The Honourable Justice Pepper, wrote:
“Given the scandalous nature of your allegations against Origin and the Inquiry which have now been proven to be wholly incorrect, it remains a matter of considerable concern that no apology has been proffered by you, on behalf of Lock the Gate, to Origin or the Inquiry. Failure to do so has the very real effect of impugning the credibility of yourself and Lock the Gate.”
Origin welcomes the apology that has now been made to the Inquiry and looks forward to receiving a similar apology from Lock the Gate as requested by the Inquiry:
“The Inquiry notes and accepts your apology. It is assumed that you have also, as is appropriate, apologised to Origin Energy (Origin) directly.”
Origin also notes the two Lock the Gate media statements containing the false allegations, now proven to be wholly incorrect, are yet to be taken down from their website.
Head of Origin’s Integrated Gas business, Mark Schubert, said Origin respects the right of any organisation or member of the community to express their views on such an important topic.
“We understand some people will have different views on gas development and we welcome a healthy debate – but it must be truthful, and not driven by false information as witnessed by the NT Fracking Inquiry last week,” Mark said.
Lock the Gate’s apology and related correspondence has been published in full on the Inquiry’s website.

IN a few weeks time we will have a clear picture of the economic direction the Northern Territory will take.
Fundamental to that direction is the final report of the Scientific Inquiry headed by Justice Rachel Pepper.
By the end of March we hope to have a decision by the Gunner Government on whether it will lift the moratorium on fracking and allow the onshore gas industry to develop beyond its existing presence in Central Australia. If it’s been a tiring process for us watching it unfold, imagine what it’s been like for those on the panel who have sat through hours and hours of evidence and waded through thousands of pages of contradictory documents.
This week, however, took on a new tone which exposed that the whole truth and nothing but the truth may not be the truth. Lock The Gate made a very serious allegation of evidence tampering and that gas company Origin Energy and the NT Government had been co-conspirators in an attempt to mislead the inquiry.
It was a well-organised attack with press releases and media interviews completed within minutes with the unsettling narrative to undermine the credibility of the gas company and the inquiry.
But the attack failed when it was discovered the diagrams which the allegations were based off had already been supplied to the inquiry in May and well ahead of the publication of the interim and draft reports. Justice Pepper and her panel were very clear that in no way had they been misled deliberately or otherwise.
Since then, Lock The Gate has not formally apologised and Justice Pepper has expressed concern the allegations were neither withdrawn, nor an apology issued. The NT News supports a regulated onshore gas industry to mitigate any risks. All we ask is for both sides of the debate to speak the truth leading up to what is such an important decision for the Territory’s future.
