Habt Ihr schon mal darüber nachgedacht was passiert wenn sich die "Meldung" zum angeblichen Aidsmittel nicht bestätigt? In USA war die Euphorie ja nicht soooo gewaltig.
Zwischenzeitlich hatte man dort 54 % plus, zum Schluss waren es noch 45 %. Warum nimmt dort schon jemand Gewinne mit?????

Habe überlegt reinzugehen, denke man sollte heute noch die Nasdaq abwatren um zu sehen wo es hingeht.

Aids - ein ungemein "schlauer" Virus , vonheute auf morgen besiegt ?!?!?
Wielange gibt es eigentlich schon die Krebsforschung ? und wieso ist der Durchbruch
hier noch nicht geschafft ? Ich kann mir eigentlich nicht mehr ganz vorstellen, daß
Immune Response es geschafft hat !

Das Mittel Remune verspricht eine sehr hohe Heilungschance gegen HIV. Und zwar deshalb weil das Mittel nicht den Retrovirus selbst angreift, der ja bekanntlich gerne mutiert, sondern das immunsystem des menschen derart stärkt, daß es zu keine Verschlechterung der Infektion kommt und mit anderen Pharmazeutika ein richtiger Heilungserfolg eintreten kann! sehr bullisch für die Aktie. Mein persönliches Ziel nächste Woche ist ca 35Euro.

Hallo zusammen,

ich bin seit 8,30 drin und werde diesen Wert auf jeden Fall halten. Von verschiedenen Analysten wird der Wert auf "Buy" gestuft mit 12 Monatsziel von $35.
Dies halte ich auch für realistisch !!!

Aber wenn das mit der Zulassung stimmt, dann sind die $35 ein Witz.Man muss jetzt einfach mal abwarten. Denn wenn die Zulassung und die Vermarktung in den USA kommt, dann wird das Medikament (REMUNE) ein Renner.
Desweiteren ist IMNR in der Krebsforschung und der Gentechnik dabei.

Also nur die Geduld, denn die kleinen leben von den Meldungen !!!

Habe mich schon länger mit der Aktie beschäftigt! Zulassung in USA wird noch sehr lange dauern, aber die Märkte in Asien und Afrika sind wesentlich interessanter und brauchen dringend Hilfe. Daher auch die Untersuchungen in Thailand! Das Geld für Remune wird fließen und die Zulassung geht in diesen Ländern auch viel unbürokratischer

Hallo Leute,

ich finde es gut, wenn nach so einem Anstieg von über 40% an einem Tag mal
kurze Denkpause einsetzt. Wenn sich allerdings Leute Gedanken machen, ob der
Aufschwung so weitergehen kann, wie gestern, weil die Aktie letztlich anstatt 54% Plus auf
"nur" 45% angesteigen ist, dem muss ich sagen, "NEIN", denn nach so einem Anstieg werden alle
auf den Plan gerufen, die solche Gewinne auch mal mitnehmen.
Das ist normal und noch normaler an einem Tag wie diesem. Die wenigsten Aktien mit
solchen gewaltigen Kurssprüngen, schliessen am selben Tag auf Tageshoch !!!

Wie ist die Meldung jetzt zu bewerten ?

Eins vorweg, Immune Response ist ein spekulatives Investment,aber das
sind fast alle Biotech-Unternehmen !! Eine solche Meldung wird der Aktie
auf jeden Fall Unterstützung geben, sodass das Risiko nach unten relativ begrenzt ist.

Nach oben ist der Weg erstmal frei - es dürfte auch weiter gehen, da die Anlegerschar
jetzt geweckt ist und sich wieder dem Potential bewusst wird, das in diesem Unternehmen
steckt. Und wer das Interview auf "Radiowallstreet" verfolgt hat, der wird bemerkt
haben, dass "REMUNE" (um dieses Produkt geht es) im Gegensatz zu früheren Behandlungsansätzen
NICHT auf den HIV-Virus zugreift, sondern es schafft, das Immunsystem zu stärken.
Wenn das geschafft ist, dann kann die Behandlung mit weiteren Medikamenten erfolgen.

Ausserdem ist REMUNE nicht nur für HIV-Einsätze gedacht, sondern wird vermutlich auf
vielfältige Immunschwächeerkrankungen angewandt werden können.

Was der Zulassung von REMUNE durch die thailändische Gesundheitsbehörde angeht, so ist
die relativ zeitig zu ewarten - weit vor der amerikanischen FDA. Aber Thailand hat pro Kopf
(per capita) gesehen eine der höchsten Aids-Raten in der Welt und eine solche
Zulassung wird neben erten vernünbftigen Einnahmen auch eine Referenz sein.

Daneben wird WarnerLambert in der Phase III mit Finanzmitteln bei IMNR einsteigen.
Das bedeutet, dass die Finazierung von Projekten auf jeden Fall gesichert ist.

Es werden die Biotechunternehmen zu den ganz grossen Gewinnern zählen, die Produkte
entwickeln und nicht nur Lizenzen auf Forschungsergebnisse vergeben.
Denn solche Produkte wie REMUNE haben das Zeug zu einem zweiten Synagis (Immunex),
oder Enbrel (Biogen)zu werden, d.h. milliardenschwere Umsätze zu generieren.
Ich will nicht behaupten, dass IMNR jetzt innerhalb der nächsten zwei Wochen eine
Immunex-Bewertung von zig-Milliarden haben wird, aber die Chance ist da,
sich als einer der GRÖSSTEN Player im Segment der Immunschwächebehandlung zu
positionieren.
REMUNE ist auch nicht das einzige Produkt, das IMNR in der Pipeline hat, sondern
da stehen noch weitere an, die allerdings noch nicht so weite sind, dass sie
zugelassen werden können.

Fazit: Die Meldung von IMNR war riesig und spiegelt das Potential wider, das in IMNR
steckt. Man sollte aber auch nicht jeden Tag solche Meldungen erwarten, sondern
das als Langfristanlage sehen, denn in den nä#chsten 12 Monaten sind Kurse drin, die
die 50-60 Dollar übersteigen können.

Hallo,
das folgende habe ich schon gestern in einem anderen Thread geschrieben, aber es gehört zu dieser Diskussion.



Natürlich bin ich begeistert über die heutige Kursentwicklung. Ich lag mit der Aktie schon vorher leicht im Plus, da ich sie schon vor den Empfehlungen der letzten Wochen gekauft habe.

Damals habe ich nicht so sehr wegen Remune (dem HIV-Präparat, das heute solchen Wirbel verursacht hat) sondern wegen der hochinteressanten, kompletten Pipeline gekauft. Denn kaum eine Firma ist so breit aufgestellt. Ganze 17 Substanzen werden m.W. zur Zeit in den verschiedenen klinischen und vorklinischen Phasen getestet, darunter Präparate gegen HIV, Hepatits und Krebs und einige mehr.

Der heutige Rummel um Remune überrascht mich: schon vor drei Wochen wurden positive Testergebnisse gemeldet, aber irgendwie fand man das heute besser als damals. Bisher geht es hier leider noch nicht um den USA-Markt (Tests waren in Thailand), aber ein Anfang ist gemacht, vielleicht kommt es so zu ersten nennenswerten Umsätzen.

Zwei wichtige Punkte:
- die Aktie lebt von der Phantasie und den interessanten Ansätzen, Geduld muß man schon haben, wenn die ehrgeizigen Pläne wahr werden, sind die Aussichten aber phantastisch: ein klares Langfristinvestment
- IMNR ist die volatilste Aktie in meinem Depot: ich glaube, es hat nicht einen Tag gegeben, an dem nicht eine Kursveränderung um >= 10% noch oben oder unten stattgefunden hat: man muß die Nerven behalten und darf hier keinen Stopp-Loss setzen (Kaufen bei einem der immer wiederkehrenden Down-turns)

Fazit: ein sehr risikoreiches aber spannendes Investment!

Also wenn jemand langfristig (1-2 Jahre) orientiert ist, dann
spielt es wirklich keine Rolle, ob man bei 15 oder bei 12
eingestiegen ist.

Hauptsache, man ist dabei und verpasst die Rakete nicht !!

Wer kann schon genau zum Tiefstpunkt einsteigen und zum
Höchstpunkt aussteigen ??

Ich denke, daß auch die ausgeklügelste Charttechnik da nicht immer
helfen kann.

Ausschlaggebend ist, daß die storry stimmt,
und das tut sie bei IMNR,
und daß genügend Fantasie im Wert ist,
und das ist sie bei IMNR !!!!

Die Konsolidierung der Biotechs allgemein mag vielleicht noch nicht
vorbei sein, aber wenn man diese Einstiegschance nicht wahrnimmt,
ärgert man sich schwarz, wenn der Zug abgefahren ist !!

Ich bin kein Daytrader und kann euch nicht sagen, ob der Kurs noch
bis 12 oder 10 fällt.

Aber eines kann ich euch versprechen:
In einem Jahr spricht keiner mehr von dieser Konsolidierung.....

..... und dann ist auch die Zulassung für Remune durch
(und vielleicht auch noch für weitere IMNR-Präparate).

Und wie sich DAS auf die Kurse auswirkt, könnt ihr euch ja
vorstellen.....

Ich konnte den News jedenfalls entnehmen, daß REMUNE
das Immunsystem so stärken und stimmulieren kann,
daß das HIV-Virus erfolgreich bekämpft wird.

Das haben Testergebnisse in Thailand ergeben !!!

Die gleichen Diskussionen hatten wir auch schon bei Morpho. und die
Aktie war ebenfalls einmal bei 13 Euro gestanden. Nur zum Vergleich,
wo steht sie jetzt? 300 Euro. Aufgrund einer Ad-hoc und Pusherei
sämtlicher "Fachzeitungen". Außerdem was wollen Leute in diesem Thread
die sowieso kein Interesse bzw. keine Anteile haben.
Und wenn sie doch Anteile haben, gehen sie meiner Meinung mit der
falschen Einstellung an die Sache.
Nichts für ungut, aber die Mißmacherei könnt Ihr Euch schenken. Bringt

Thai Investigators to Propose REMUNE Monotherapy As

CARLSBAD, Calif., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The Immune Response Corporation

REMUNE(TM), its immune-based therapy to treat HIV infection, may induce HIV
immunity when used as a combination therapy with other antiviral drugs or when
used alone as a monotherapy. The data from multiple clinical trials were
presented at "An International Conference on HIV Vaccines -- An Annual Update
-- 2000" sponsored by the Thai Ministry of Public Health in Bangkok, Thailand.
Data were presented by Drs. Vernon Maino of Becton Dickinson, Fred
Valentine of New York University, Frances Gotch of Chelsea and Westminster
Hospital in London, Ron Moss of The Immune Response Corporation and Vina
Churdboonchart and Wisut Sukeepaisarncharoen of Thailand, all investigators of
clinical trials that examined the effects of REMUNE in HIV-infected patients.
An observation common to the multiple trials suggest that patients treated
with REMUNE in combination with antiviral drug therapy mount strong CD4 helper
T cell immune responses against HIV.
Data from the double-blind, placebo controlled study in Thailand, in which
REMUNE was examined as a monotherapy, were presented by Drs. Vina
Churdboonchart and Wisut Sukeepaisarncharoen. In this study, 297 HIV-1
infected patients who had never taken antiviral drug therapy received either
REMUNE or placebo during the 40-week trial period and were monitored for
several indicators of immune health and disease progression. The primary
measure of the number of CD4 helper T cells was significantly higher (p<0.05)
in the REMUNE treatment group. Furthermore, delayed type hypersensitivity
(DTH) skin tests and Western blots (test that detects antibodies against HIV)
performed on a random, pre-selected subset of patients indicated that
HIV-specific immunity was favored in patients treated with REMUNE (p<0.05).
"While antiviral drug therapy has been very beneficial to HIV patients in
keeping viral load in check, it has not generally proven to help rebuild the
immune system, which is ravaged by the virus. A common theme among the trial
results reported today suggests that REMUNE may help to restore immune
function to these patients. In fact, it is the T helper cells -- the very
immune cells that are destroyed by the virus -- that appear to re-establish
after treatment with REMUNE," said Dr. Vina Churdboonchart, principal
investigator for the trial in Thailand. "This is important because an
emerging consensus among HIV researchers is that immune health may be the key
to controlling HIV infection in the long term." Dr. Churdboonchart stated
that she is currently completing all documentation necessary for submission to
the Thai Minister of Public Health for commercial approval of REMUNE in
Thailand.
Dr. Sukeepaisarncharoen, a clinician in the Thai study, presented data
obtained during the follow-up period after the trial was completed on the same
subset of patients. He noted that 87% (59/68) of those patients tested 48
weeks after the trial`s end had stable (39 patients) or significantly
decreased (20 patients) amounts of HIV in the bloodstream, commonly referred
to as viral load. Furthermore, the decrease or stabilization of viral load
was associated with a sustained increase in number of CD4 helper T cells as
well as increased body weight.
"Several clinical parameters of immune health and disease progression
assessed in this trial and during the follow-up period suggest that REMUNE
alone may be a beneficial monotherapy in the treatment of HIV infection. This
is particularly important for HIV patients who do not have access to antiviral
drug therapy," said Dr. Churdboonchart who indicated that based on these and
previous results submitted to the Thai Ministry of Public Health, the Thai
investigators will propose that REMUNE monotherapy be administered to
HIV-infected individuals in Thailand as a first course of treatment.

Background: Strong lymphocyte proliferation responses (LPRs) to HIV antigens are lacking in a majority of patients, but are present in rare individuals who have low levels of plasma HIV and are clinically well without therapy.


Methods: 43 HIV infected subjects were treated with Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART) and randomized to receive either inactivated gp120-depleted HZ321 whole HIV-1 Immunogen (REMUNE, or the Immunogen), or placebo (IFA adjuvant alone) at weeks 4, 16 and 28.


Results: By week 32 the group receiving HAART plus Immunogen had a significantly higher response rate for lymphocyte proliferation to purified native p24 (p=0.0002), gp120 depleted HZ321 HIV-1 (p=0.005), and whole BaL (p=0.007) antigens compared to the group receiving HAART plus IFA which did not develop LPR to HIV antigens. The production of antigen stimulated MIP-1ß was also augmented in the HAART plus Immunogen group (p=0.0007). At week 32, 94% (15/16) of subjects receiving HAART plus Immunogen compared to 75% (9/12) of control subjects had < 40 copies/ml of HIV-1 plasma RNA (p=0.29). 87% (13/15) of subjects receiving Immunogen reached "<1 copy/ml" (OD= background) at 32 weeks compared to 50% (6/12) of control subjects (p=0.09).


Conclusions: In contrast to HAART plus IFA control group, treatment with HAART plus Immunogen results in significant increases in HIV-1 specific functional immune responses. These immune responses to HIV antigens are of the same magnitude as those observed in some long-term nonprogressors. The results of this study provide further rationale for larger studies examining the effect of Immunogen plus HAART.

Corporate Overview

The Immune Response Corporation is a biopharmaceutical company based in Carlsbad, California, developing immune-based therapies to induce specific T cell responses for the treatment of HIV and autoimmune diseases. In addition, the Company is working on cancer vaccines and gene therapy.

HIV. The Company`s most advanced therapy under development, REMUNE, is based on an approach first proposed by the late Dr. Jonas Salk, a co-founder of the Company. REMUNE is an immune-based therapy intended to treat HIV-infected individuals and prevent or delay the progression to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome ("AIDS"). REMUNE is designed to stimulate an HIV-infected individual`s immune system to attack HIV and can be used alone or in combination with existing antiviral drug therapies for HIV. The Company believes that clinical trials conducted since 1987 have suggested that REMUNE is safe and well tolerated and may have a favorable impact on multiple markers of HIV disease progression including viral burden, CD4 cell count, HIV-specific cell-mediated immunity, antibody production and weight gain. In March 1996, the Company initiated a pivotal Phase III clinical trial for REMUNE. This clinical trial, involving 2,500 HIV-infected individuals at 74 clinical centers in the United States, was fully enrolled in May 1997. Subsequent to the start of the Phase III clinical trial, the United States Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") granted expanded access approval for those individuals who are ineligible to enroll in this trial. The Company expects to dedicate a substantial portion of its resources to the REMUNE program.

The Company is also conducting trials in additional patient populations. In March 1996, the Company`s licensee, Trinity Medical Group Co., Ltd. ("Trinity") of Bangkok, Thailand, initiated a Phase II clinical trial with REMUNE in Thailand. In May 1996, the Company initiated a Phase I clinical trial with the National Institutes of Health ("NIH") to treat HIV-infected children. In October 1996, the Company initiated a Phase II combination drug trial in Spain. Finally, in February 1997, the Company, in conjunction with Glaxo Wellcome and Merck & Co., initiated a Phase II combination drug trial in the U.S. Glaxo is providing AZT and 3TC and Merck is providing its protease inhibitor, Crixivan.

Autoimmune Disease. Immune Response is using its proprietary autoimmune disease technology to develop treatments for certain autoimmune diseases, particularly rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis. Currently approved therapies treat only the symptoms of these diseases. The Company`s technology is designed to inhibit the destructive activity of the specific autoreactive T cells that the Company believes cause each disease by generating an immune response against the unique markers on the autoreactive T cells. In January 1997, the Company announced the results from both the rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis Phase II clinical trials. The Company believes that the results for rheumatoid arthritis demonstrated safety and a statistically significant clinical improvement in disease condition using the American College of Rheumatology guidelines (ACR 20 criteria). The Company believes that the results for psoriasis were safe and patients in all groups improved during the course of the trial. In addition, the Company has completed a Phase I clinical trial for multiple sclerosis.

Gene Therapy. The Company`s proprietary GeneDrug technology under development is designed to replace missing or defective genes to treat disease. This technology uses a unique system intended to deliver genes specifically to the liver after a single intravenous injection. In preclinical studies, a potential GeneDrug product was successfully used for Factor VIII to produce therapeutic levels of this blood clotting factor for 60 days. If similar results can be obtained in humans, the Company believes that this therapy could provide significant advantages over the current treatments for hemophilia. Additionally, a potential GeneDrug for interferon-alpha ("IFN") also has been used in preclinical studies to induce production of significant levels of IFN within the liver as a potential treatment for hepatitis.

Cancer. The Company is also developing new therapies for the treatment of cancer. These technologies are designed (i) to increase immune system recognition of cancers, (ii) to inhibit cancer evasion of the immune system, and (iii) to sensitize cancer to conventional therapies. In December 1996, the Company completed a Phase I clinical trial in colon cancer. The Company believes the results from this trial indicated the therapy was safe and patients demonstrated strong positive skin tests with 3-5 fold increases in precursor frequency of tumor reactive T cells. The Company initiated a Phase Ib clinical trial for colon cancer in September 1998 and plans to start a Phase I clinical trial for brain cancer in the fourth quarter of 1999.

Carlsbad, California, March 23 (Bloomberg) -- Shares in
Immune Response Corp rose 43 percent after the company said
results of a study of its lead AIDS drug, Remune, conducted in
Thailand, could lead to government approval there.

Shares in the biotechnology company rose 4 11/16 to close at
15 11/16 in Nasdaq Stock Market trading. Last May, the stock
dropped 43 percent in two days, after a U.S. study of 2,500
patients found that Remune didn`t show any clinical benefit when
added to traditional combination AIDS therapy.

If Thailand`s Ministry of Public Health approves the drug,
which boosts the immune system of patients with HIV, it would
bring the money-losing company its first revenue. Such an approval
may be raising hopes for approval of the drug in the U.S., an
analyst said.
``People are saying, `Look, this is the first time the
company could get revenue. If this is approvable in Thailand,
maybe the chances of approval in the U.S. are higher than I
thought,` `` said Alan Auerbach, an analyst at First Security Van
Casper.

Still, the company is unlikely to submit the Thai data to
U.S. regulators.

More than 800,000 people in Thailand -- about 2.3 percent of
nation`s population -- have HIV, according to the World Health
Organization.

Patients taking only Remune in the study had a significantly
higher number of helper T cells in the blood, which may signal
immune system strength, according to a 297-person study presented
today at a medical meeting in Thailand,

In addition, researchers measured the level of HIV in the
bloodstream of 68 patients and found that 39 had no change in
their HIV level, while 20 people had reduced amounts of HIV in the
bloodstream and nine patients saw their HIV levels rise.
``This is particularly important for HIV patients who do not
have access to antiviral drug therapy,`` said Vina Churdboonchart,
the primary investigator on the trial. Churdboonchart said those
results were good enough to ask Thailand`s government to approve
Remune for sale in Thailand. The four injections a year of Remune
are less complicated and could turn out to be less expensive than
traditional AIDS therapy.

Carlsbad, California-based Immune Response is working with
Warner-Lambert Co. to test the drug in the U.S. The two companies
have initiated another large-scale clinical trial to see if Remune
can suppress HIV levels in patients after they stop taking
traditional AIDS drugs.

Company Scientists Use Functional Genomics Coupled With in Vivo Models To Identify Genes Involved in Spinal Cord Injury And Peripheral Nerve Regeneration
CARLSBAD, Calif., March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Immune Response Corporation (Nasdaq: IMNR - news) announced today that it has made progress in identifying the gene expression patterns following anti-inflammatory treatment for spinal cord injury and the genetic basis underlying peripheral nerve regeneration. The results from microarray (gene chip) studies reported on March 23, 2000, at the, Washington, D.C., may provide the basis for developing new treatments for acute and chronic spinal cord injury.

``Methylprednisolone, an anti-inflammatory steroid, has been the standard of care for patients with acute spinal cord injury. We are now beginning to understand the genetic basis for its neuroprotective effect,`` said Dr. Adrian A. Cameron, Research Scientist, The Immune Response Corporation. ``We have identified several hundred genes apparently involved in the injured spinal cord`s response to methylprednisolone treatment, which may provide a basis for developing more specific and potent anti-inflammatory agents and new strategies for the treatment of acute spinal cord injury.``

The latest ``gene chip`` technologies were employed to compare the changes in gene expression or activity in spinal cord-injured rats subsequently treated either with methylprednisolone or saline as a control. Gene chips, or gene expression microarrays, are a genomics tool that contains thousands of human genes arranged on a glass chip and can be used to catalogue gene activity in different nerve tissues or different experimental situations. By comparing gene expression profiles between the two groups of experimental rats, the scientists determined which genes were differentially turned on or off as a result of methylprednisolone treatment.

The results suggest that methylprednisolone administration appears to cause suppression of gene activity in the injured spinal cord, particularly of genes that promote inflammation and proliferation of cell types that may prohibit regrowth of damaged nerve tissue. A small percentage of genes were observed to increase in activity, and these were identified as genes encoding antioxidants, growth factors, and matrix proteins known to have neuroprotective effects.

``Such patterns of gene activity resulting from methylprednisolone treatment may underlie this drug`s ability to suppress the immediate inflammation that occurs following trauma that is responsible for `secondary damage` to the spinal cord tissues,`` said Dr. Cameron.

Data were also reported on experiments that examined the genetic basis of peripheral nerve regeneration. Gene expression profiles were obtained during the regeneration of experimentally injured dorsal root ganglia, masses of cell bodies located in the peripheral nervous system (PNS), and also of activated Schwann cells, which are specialized cells of the PNS that play a supportive role in nerve impulse transmission.

``In contrast to the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord), the PNS can survive trauma and regrow damaged neurons to restore motor function. The PNS is therefore an important model to study in devising strategies for the treatment of chronic spinal cord injury. To this end, we have identified a whole cluster of genes that apparently can be turned off or on at different points during the `regeneration cycle` of neurons in the PNS,`` said Dr. Cameron. ``Our next steps are to determine which of these genes, if any, play a causal role in nerve regeneration and could potentially serve as candidates for drug targets or gene therapy to treat chronic spinal cord injury, in which neuron regeneration may be necessary for functional restoration.``
