Catapult Communications Reports Increased Fourth Fiscal Quarter Revenue Estimate and Additional Expenses

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Catapult Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: CATT - News) today announced that revenues for its fourth fiscal quarter ending September 30, 2006 are now expected to fall within the range of $13.0 million to $13.5 million, compared to the Company's original estimate of $12.1 million.

According to Dr. Richard A. Karp, Catapult's Chairman and CEO, "Although order input for the quarter is falling short of where we hoped it would be, we expect to recognize at least $4.7 million of revenue from the engineering-delayed backlog with which we entered the quarter. With the delivery of second-generation interface boards, our customers are increasingly able to take advantage of the power of our m500 platform."

At the currently expected revenue level, the Company would have expected to record an operating profit for the fourth fiscal quarter before FAS 123® stock option expenses; however, the Company now expects to incur three additional charges in the quarter. First, a restructuring charge will be incurred as a result of a reduction in the Company's workforce undertaken earlier this week. The restructuring, together with attrition, represents a 13% reduction in headcount. Second, the Company expects to record a non-cash impairment charge against the value of intangible assets acquired as part of the NDB purchase in August 2002. Third, the Company expects to record non-cash valuation allowance charges against certain deferred tax assets. Catapult Communications DCT2000(R) Selected for 3G IMS Testing

Catapult Test System Enables IP Network Upgrade in Korea


MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Catapult Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: CATT - News) today announced that it has been selected by Korea Telecom (KT) to provide simulation and load testing capabilities for the addition of IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) services to their existing IP network. Catapult's distributor, Tricomtek Co., Ltd., will provide local technical expertise to assist Korea Telecom.


According to Bertrand Favier, Catapult Asia Pacific Sales Director, "Korea Telecom carefully evaluated various testing tools and determined that Catapult offers the best products for testing the major elements of IMS, including the Call Session Control Function (CSCF), application server, presence server and network media server.
