      EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES
      Overview

Opal Energy Corp., through its U.S. subsidiary Opal Energy Inc., offers an aggressive, disciplined and results-oriented vehicle to invest in the U.S. Exploration and Production “E&P” sector with a particular focus on natural gas exploration targets in South Texas. The business strategy is to build asset value through the drill bit, growing a production platform upon which will be superimposed multiple potential high value exploration opportunities. Drilling inventory will be continuously enhanced by the implementation of a series of strategically placed proprietary 3-D seismic shoots. Opal is completing its 75 sq. mi. SW Victoria 3-D seismic shoot over the first quarter of 2008 onshore South Texas with the goal of the seismic shoot to uncover dozens of new high-quality drilling prospects starting in Q2-2008.

      Texas Giants Prospects
Opal has advanced its Texas Giants strategy of generating high potential natural gas prospects in the onshore and near-shore areas along the South Texas Gulf coast. Numerous 3-D data sets have been acquired from various seismic vendors and the highly experienced exploration team at Opal has identified several compelling targets. In addition, Opal’s management now believes Opal’s Texas Giant prospects correlate with the Lower Tertiary world class discoveries made by the energy industry majors in the deep Gulf of Mexico.

Opal has secured lease rights to six (6) natural gas targets in the coastal area of South Texas each of which has undiscovered resources of 1.0 to 4.0 Tcf (trillion cubic feet). The exploration staff has also identified two (2) additional potential similar sized targets for which the farm-in agreements are currently being negotiated. These developments have positioned Opal to expose its shareholders to significant potential resources from these targets.

Opal has commissioned an independent engineer to review and to produce Canadian National Standard 51-101 compliant reports on each prospect which Opal will make public as produced. The independent report for the Antares prospect issued compliant with National Instrument 51-101 standards, indicates a gross total of 3.19 Tcfe (trillion cubic feet equivalent) which are classified as undiscovered resources effective December 31, 2007.

Undiscovered resources are those quantities of oil and gas estimated on a given date to be contained in accumulations yet to be discovered. There is no certainty that any portion of the undiscovered resources will be discovered and that, if discovered, it may not be economically viable or technically feasible to produce. The author of the technical report is B.L. Whelan, Professional Geoscientist, who is a third party independent qualified estimator. This report is available on Opal’s website www.OPALenergy.ca.

The largest two prospects (Orion and Antares) are already secured with leases covering 10,600 acres. Opal recently executed additional leases obtaining another 4,260 acres and has secured options for a further 2,240 acres. Options for an additional 3,680 acres are under negotiation. These prospects are primarily targeting the Lower Tertiary Wilcox and Deep Frio formations at depths of 21,000 to 33,000 feet.

Opal has identified preferred partners to fund and participate in the drilling of these very large natural gas prospects and has initiated discussions in this regard. As is becoming well known, Opal has the experienced team that can oversee the drilling of these deep high pressure and high temperature wells.

      Low Risk Drilling Initiative
Opal intends to drill a series of prospects which each have a strong case for the expectations of a successful exploration outcome. Supporting evidence may consist of some or all of the following input: seismic interpretation, the presence of nearby analog producing or past producing fields, and in some instances an actual log confirming hydrocarbons in the targeted reservoir. The typical target size of these types of prospects would be up to 3 Bcf or more of natural gas. To be clear, a target size is simply that, and is not an assurance that the targeted reservoir will be productive. Opal expects that this low risk value building strategy will lead to an increasing cash flow and a growing asset base. Opal has drilled, completed and placed on production five wells in this category of prospects.

High Value (Big BCF Prospects) Drilling Opportunities
Opal’s strategy of identifying high value exploration opportunities is also progressing well. The strategy is to identify and secure prospects that have this high value potential and as such, expose Opal to the possibility of a variety of successful drilling ventures. Opal currently has four prospects including the Kane-Brandon, Dolan, Vitera and Boettcher prospects. These have potential from several dozen Bcfe to several hundred Bcfe with the Kane-Brandon and Dolan prospects containing gross Proved Undeveloped and Probable reserves totaling 177 Bcf (Proved and Probable reserves at the Dolan and Kane Brandon prospects located in Texas as outlined in two independent reports compliant with National Instrument 51-101 standards). These two reports indicate a gross combined total of 95.4 Bcf of Proved Undeveloped reserves and 87.1 Bcf of Probable natural gas reserves. The author of the technical reports is B.L. Whelan, Professional Geoscientist, who is a third party independent qualified estimator. These reports will be available on Opal’s website www.OPALenergy.ca.

      KANE BRANDON WELL
The independent report indicates the presence of 65.2 Bcf of Proved Undeveloped reserves (PUDs) at the Kane Brandon prospect in Colorado County, Texas. Opal holds a 100% working interest and a 74% net revenue interest. The Opal’s net share is therefore 48.2 Bcf. The prospect is well situated within the prolific Middle / Lower Wilcox Trend, with several large fields on trend: Dry Hollow Field (166 Bcfe), Speaks Field (371 Bcfe), Provident City Field (852 Bcfe) all located to the southwest, and Bonus Field (169 Bcfe) located to the northeast.

      DOLAN PROSPECT
At the Dolan Prospect in Live Oak County, Texas, reserve estimates include 30.2 Bcf of Proved Undeveloped reserves (PUDs) and 87.1 Bcf of probable reserves in which Opal holds a 93.5% working interest and a 64.4% net revenue interest. Opal’s net share is 19.4 Bcf of Proven and 56.1 Bcf of Probable reserves. Many well-known, prolific gas fields have been discovered along this important trend, from Live Oak County into Zapata County, over 95 miles to the southwest. The Dolan Prospect is targeting Massive Upper Wilcox Sands which are seen to be productive on strike both to the northeast and southwest.

Opal may assign a portion of its interest in these two prospects in order to obtain drilling and completion funds. The Vitera and Boettcher prospects have much larger potential with gross undiscovered resources of hundreds of Bcfe based on internal estimates.

SW Victoria 3-D Seismic Data Acquisition Program
Seismic data acquisition is underway in its 75 sq. mi. seismic shoot in South Texas (SW Victoria Shoot). Acquisition of the data should be complete by the end of February 2008. After processing, the data should be loaded on Opal workstations for interpretation during the second quarter 2008. The goal of this seismic shoot is to generate dozens of high quality drilling prospects in an underexplored area of onshore South Texas.

Die Projekte von Far East Energy könnten 4,21 Billionen Kubikfuß (Tcf) an Erdgas produzieren (Marktwert 18 Mrd. EUR)

Im Folgenden wird der Wert der Unternehmen für ein Szenario berechnet, in dem das Erdgas gewonnen und verkauft wird. Dabei wurde die untere Grenze der Erdgasschätzung verwendet.
      ((4.210.000.000 Mcf x 4,17 EUR/Mcf Verkaufspreis x (1 - 6% Abgabe)) – ((0,891 Mio.

Was macht das ganze so Interessant:
Austzug aus der News vom 22.01.08

Opal Energy Corp (the “Company”) (TSX-V: OPA) announced today results of the third party technical report for its Antares natural gas prospect located in South Texas. The independent report, compliant with National Instrument 51-101 standards, indicates a gross total of 3.19 Tcfe (trillion cubic feet equivalent) which are classified as undiscovered resources effective December 31, 2007.

Commenting on this latest report, Opal Chairman Ron Oligney said, “We are pleased to receive this independent report on one of our largest projects among our Texas Giants prospects in South Texas. We look forward to the opportunity to secure partners to drill and test this outstanding prospect along with the rest of our Texas Giants. Additional reports covering other Opal prospects will be issued as they are completed.”

The two largest prospects in Opal’s Texas Giants inventory (the Orion and Antares) are already secured with leases covering 10,400 acres. The Company has identified preferred partners to fund and participate in the drilling of these very large natural gas prospects and has initiated discussions in this regard. The Company has the experienced team that can oversee the drilling of these deep high pressure and high temperature wells.

      WHY OWN OPAL

Whereas this is not a recommendation to purchase shares of Opal Energy, the following provides some notable points as to why Opal Energy should be considered for your portfolio.

MANAGEMENT GROUP - experienced, motivated and successful

The Opal Energy management team is a highly motivated group of experienced industry players who have the very stated goal of making Opal Energy a success. Management has extensive professional experience in the Texas Gulf Coast and has experience building an E & P company.

NATURAL GAS - the premium fuel of the new economy

Opal’s business plan is focused on exploration for natural gas. The shift to natural gas as an energy source is happening throughout the US and world economies. Natural gas is highly saleable in Texas and the natural gas price is easily obtained and widely reported. Natural gas produces one third less carbon dioxide emissions as does oil and even more so with respect to conventional coal.

PEDIGREED PROJECT AREA - a world class gas basin

The Gulf Coast of Texas just happens to be a World Class Gas Basin. It also boasts the densest pipeline network on the planet meaning that one is never very far from being able to tap into a pipeline. This is a huge benefit to commercializing discoveries which can be online in the matter of weeks.

BILLION DOLLAR COMPANIES - many have grown out of this area

Because of the natural endowment of hydrocarbons that Texas enjoys, there have been a large number of “billion dollar” companies built in the last century and undoubtedly there will be plenty more built.

BALANCED BUSINESS PLAN - a low risk drilling and seismic strategy

Opal has ambitious plans and has put together a balanced strategy of low risk drilling opportunities and seismic shoots. These are the basic elements of any successful Exploration and Production Company.

REMARKABLE OPPORTUNITIES - strategic acquisition of high value opportunities

Very important however, is the fact that Opal has a carefully contemplated strategy of gaining exposure to some high value opportunities with its Texas Giants strategy. Implementing a strategy of generating opportunities internally means that exposure to these high impact situations can be achieved with little financial exposure.

MARKET CAPITALIZATION - undiscovered growth company at the beginning of the growth curve

Opal Energy is an early stage situation which is reflected in its relatively low market capitalization of approximately $US120 million (February -2008). Opal’s goal is to build a business many times larger than this which should translate into significant market price appreciation.

OPAL ENERGY’S 3-D SEISMIC SURVEY YIELDS NEW NATURAL GAS PROSPECT
      June 2, 2008

Opal Energy Corp. (the “Company”) (TSX-V: OPA) announces today that it has identified a Wilcox Trend natural gas prospect, which could hold quantities of prospective resources similar to those of its other “Big Bcf” prospects. The prospect was identified through an initial review of preliminary data from the Company’s recent 3-D seismic survey in a 75 sq. mi. region of Victoria County, Texas. Pursuant to an agreement with Sanchez Oil & Gas Co., the Company has elected to purchase a 50 percent net lease participation in the prospect.

Including the one recently identified, the Company now has operating interests in five “Big Bcf” prospects. These also include its Boettcher, Dolan, Kane-Brandon and Vitera prospects, at estimated total depths of 15,500 to 18,500 feet.

The Company completed the data acquisition phase of the 3-D seismic survey in February 2008 and is in the final stages of processing the data, which it anticipates will yield prospects ranging from shallow, relatively low-risk Miocene and Frio prospects, to deeper and higher potential Yegua and Wilcox sands.

Opal CEO Barry Williamson commented, “We are extremely pleased to add a fifth ‘Big Bcf’ prospect to our inventory. We look forward to finishing the data processing phase of our 3-D seismic survey and to commencing drilling activities, when preparations are completed.”

      Opal Energy Corp.

Opal Energy Corp. is an independent exploration and production company, focused on developing onshore natural gas resources in South Texas. Key components of its strategy include the use of proprietary 3-D seismic surveys, concentration on underexplored regions, and reliance on a team of highly experienced E&P professionals, based primarily at the company’s U.S. headquarters in Katy, Texas. Listed on the TSX-V Exchange (TSX-V: OPA), the company also maintains a corporate office in Vancouver, B.C., Canada and a satellite office in Victoria, Texas.
