Posted By Byron King On March 6, 2013 @ 3:22 pm

"I visited Stans Energy (HRE: TSX-V) and received a strong update. Actually,
I showed up just as the board of directors was finishing a meeting, so I buttonholed a couple of the
directors, as well. Go to the fountainhead, I say…
The only thing that’s lagging with Stans is the share price. Everything else — and I mean
everything! — is much better than a year ago, or two years ago. Where to begin?

Let’s start with title to the mineral claims in Kyrgyzstan. Last year, a Chinese-backed group
challenged the Stans claims and clouded the title. That hurt the Stans share price and led to
questions, if not doubts, about the fundamental basis for what Stans is doing. No claims? No
      company. Big problem.

The title challenges against Stans were typical “developing nation” stunts by disgruntled people
and outsiders trying to “claim-jump” and, in essence, steal the concession. Sad to say, Stans had
to spend good money fighting this in the courts and elsewhere in the halls of power. Happy to say,
however, last week Stans won! Yes, “won.” As in kicked butt and won the case, hands down.

I won’t go into the legalisms of what happened. The bottom line is that the Stans claims are
secure and things can move ahead. With the Russian partners, to boot. Yes, it helps to have the
      Russians as partners.

What else can we discuss about the Russians? Well, Stans still has a superb relationship with the
Russian Leading Institute for Chemical Technology (VNIIHT) — sort of a Russian Oak Ridge
National Lab, speaking of Oak Ridge.

I saw — and held in my hands — the metallurgical report and process report from VNIIHT, which is
the foundation for processing the Kyrgyzstan ore into metal. I flipped through the pages — many
of them — and followed the flow sheets and mass balances, more or less. (It’s high-level stuff, to
be sure!) Plus, I saw — and held in my hands — metal ingots fabricated out of the Kyrgyzstan ore.
Here’s one photo I took of some metal samples:

This is not vaporware. This is the real deal. I’ve seen the metal samples that came, via VNIIHT
processes, out of the ore in Kyrgyzstan. Meanwhile, Stans has a great team on the ground in
Russia and Kyrgyzstan working on rebuilding the former Soviet facilities to a modern spec.

Consider Stans one or two years ago versus today. Management and team members know much
more about the ore and the ore body. Now the title is clean, with a recent scrub by the court
system, which sprinkled its special, inimitable “holy water” on the deal. After much work and
effort, there’s a stronger relationship between Stans and the Kyrgyz government. The Kyrgyz-sited
processing facilities are cleaned up and fixed up, to where Stans can do trial runs of ore that yield
      metal.

Meanwhile, in Russia, the relationship with VNIIHT is strong and getting better. The people at
VNIIHT are used to working with Stans, and focusing their efforts on bringing products to market
in a way that meets Western specs.

I need to mention that the Russian government has taken more of an interest in what’s going on.
There are heightened access and disclosure requirements, watched over by Russia’s Federal
Security Bureau (FSB). On that point, you just have to deal with it, because the Russians view rare
earths as a high-level strategic national issue. (Hey, can you fault them? Here in the U.S., we
should be as serious about this kind of high-end, strategic material issue.)"

Stans Energy Corp. (TSXV:HRE,OTCQX:HREEF) provided a corporate update for 2012 and all the initiatives the Company completed, as well as disclosing their strategic objectives for 2013. The Company succeeded in advancing initiatives in 2012, such as engaging Asiarudproject CJSC for the engineering of a new mine complex design, analyzing 2,860.8 meters of drill core from 11 core holes at the Kutessay II deposit, and successfully testing an environmentally friendly technology for extracting thorium and radium from Kutessay II RE concentrates, yielding a greater rare earth recovery.

As quoted in the press release:

Based on the positive outcome of the 2012 program, the Company is planning engineering and field programs in 2013 to resume fast-tracking production at Kutessay II.

Stans Energy Corp. COO, Boris Aryev said:

Stans Energy Corp is eager to resume its pace of infrastructure and engineering development of the project. The company is commencing Pilot Plant Testing on proven, and improved upon milling, and cracking methods, while adding an innovative, selective REO separation process. Our strategic advantage in developing and proving REO technologies will allow the company to maintain a stronger treasury balance, while focusing expenditures on project and infrastructure development, instead of constant metallurgical testing on unproven REO extraction methods. Despite current uncertainty in capital markets, we remain steadfast on proving that the Kutessay II HREE mine is an excellent option for end-users to obtain a secure, non-Chinese HREE source. Implementation of our recent technological advancements in rare earth cracking and separation technologies at the Kashka Rare Earth Plant will demonstrate the Company’s progress towards being a leader in the Heavy Rare Earth sector, both to potential partners and to the market.
