Remarkable Gold Anomaly Enhances New Pacific Bay Property Rare Earth Values Also Anomalous

For Immediate Release. Vancouver, British Columbia, March 1, 2011 - David H. Brett, President and CEO, Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX Venture: PBM, the "Company") reports that mineral claims staked by Pacific Bay in northern BC cover the highest gold silt sample site (7,086 parts per billion Au) reported in the recently-released Geoscience B.C. re-analysis of over 10,000 samples from across the northern part of the province. This same site also has a reportedly high silver in silt geochemical value (4974 ppb Ag).

The unexplored 7,920 hectare Sphinx Mountain Property was originally staked in February 2010 to cover several high Rare Earth geochemical sample sites reported in previously-released B.C government stream sediment survey results.

The property is located on Sphinx Mountain near the junction of the Dease River with Provincial Highway 37, between Dease Lake and Cassiar. The geological setting and silt geochemical results indicate good exploration potential for intrusive-hosted gold mineralization.

Another junior explorer, Serengeti Resources, recently announced the staking of a large claim block south of the Sphinx Mountain Property to cover another silt sample site measuring 1,702 ppb Au, the third highest in the data-package made public during the 2011 AMEBC Exploration Round-Up in Vancouver.

"It's remarkable that this extremely high gold-in-silt value has come to light after we acquired the property for what we thought was a strong Rare Earth anomaly" said Pacific CEO David H. Brett. "The gold potential has now taken top priority and we look forward to investigating the occurrence during our spring-summer exploration campaign in northern BC."

The technical information in this news release was reviewed and approved by Doug Blanchflower, P.Geo., a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.

Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd.: Data Review Highlights Size Potential of Haskins-Reed Property, BC

      Apr. 20, 2011 (Marketwire Canada) --

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- David H. Brett, President and CEO, Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PBM) (the "Company") reports that a recent compilation of exploration data from its 100% optioned Haskins-Reed polymetallic property in northern British Columbia has confirmed the potential for large-scale, intrusive-hosted, polymetallic deposits.

It now appears, based upon coincidental geological, geochemical and geophysical evidence, that the numerous historic prospects identified over a combined 6-kilometre strike length may be associated with a large-scale, intrusive-related mineralizing system.

A comprehensive two-stage program including geological mapping, geochemical sampling, trenching and two phases of diamond drilling is scheduled to commence in mid-June to evaluate several exploration targets.

Over the past 50 years several major and junior mining companies have explored their individual claim holdings within the area now covered by the Haskins-Reed property, which is now consolidated under Pacific Bay's 100% control. Their exploration efforts have discovered numerous mineral showings hosting a variety of silver, lead, zinc, copper, molybdenum, tungsten, cobalt, gold and bismuth mineralization. This work resulted in several non-43-101 compliant mineral resource estimates, such as the "B Zone", which was explored extensively by underground workings (refer to the 43-101 technical report filed on Sedar for complete historical results).

Pacific Bay has compiled the results from past and recent exploration programs including: geological mapping, soil and rock geochemical sampling, trenching, airborne geophysics and the geological and assay results from 198 surface and underground drill holes totalling 18,230 metres of drilling. The results of this work indicate that the known mineralization is probably spatially and temporally-related to a series of elongated, buried to partially-exposed stocks that have intruded well-fractured carbonate and fine-grained metasedimentary rocks along two parallel 3-kilometre long, north-westerly trends. Maps showing these trends and the many mineralized zones along them can be viewed on the Company's website (www.pacificbayminerals.com).

The first high priority 2011 drill target is the Meteor Zone where 2010 excavator trenching, mapping and sampling identified near-surface, oxidized sulphide mineralization averaging 15 metres in width along a 300-metre north-westerly strike length. Chip samples collected from one trench (Trench 4) returned values of 0.292 gpt gold, 57.11 gpt silver, 1.21% lead and 3.67% zinc across 24.70 metres.

"We have developed a new, breakthrough exploration model for Haskins-Reed that has moved the project to the top of our priority list," said Pacific Bay CEO David H. Brett. "Recent positive announcements regarding the Northwest Power Transmission Line also have the potential to dramatically improve the property's economics."

The technical disclosures in this news release were reviewed and approved by Doug Blanchflower, P.Geo., a Qualified Person, as defined by National Instrument 43-101.

Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd.: New Uranium Discovery Made at Regalo Property, Argentina
May 3, 2011 - 09:00:00 AM VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 3, 2011) - David H. Brett, President and CEO, Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PBM) (the "Company") reports that the Company has discovered a large, mineralized zone with significant uranium values at its 100% owned Regalo property in Chubut Province, Argentina. Assay results show uranium values ranging between 0.002 and 0.14% U (1,382 ppm or 2.8 pounds per ton) in rock geochemical samples from an area measuring over 1 square kilometre. Within this area widespread scintillometer readings of 1,500 to 2,500 counts per second have been recorded from rocks belonging to the favourable Los Adobes Formation. A full table of assay results is outlined below. A follow-up trenching, mapping and sampling program is planned for May.

This new uranium discovery was made during a March, 2011, helicopter-supported reconnaissance of 23 high-priority airborne uranium anomalies outlined in a 2008 survey over the entire 400-square kilometre property. The results from the program identified a number of anomalous zones in an area that is approximately 20km north-east the government owned, 15 million pound Cerro Solo uranium deposit. It is interesting to note that the uranium mineralization at this new discovery is hosted in sandstones of the Bardas Coloradas Member of the Los Adobes Formation, not the Arroyo Del Pajaritos Member that hosts the Cerro Solo and other uranium deposits in the area. Thus, this discovery opens up a whole new exploration model and new potential for the property.

"This is an exciting discovery," said Pacific Bay CEO David H. Brett. "These samples were collected from outcrops over a large area. The next step is to carry out a trenching program for more detailed sampling and mapping information"

Pacific Bay Awaits Haskins-Reed Polymetallic Drill Results
September 15, 2011 - 06:53:11 PM VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 15, 2011) - David H. Brett, President and CEO, Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PBM) (the "Company") reports that the Company is awaiting check-assay results for an 11 hole, 1,245-metre drill program completed this summer at the Company's 100% optioned Haskins-Reed polymetallic property in the Cassiar Region of north-central British Columbia. The program targeted Meteor Zone (9 holes) following up on encouraging trenching results, and the advanced stage B-Zone, that has been explored historically by significant drilling and underground workings, and includes historic resources of 1,370,000 tonnes grading 56.9 g/t silver, 0.53% copper, 2.77% zinc, 0.47% lead and 0.24% bismuth.(i) Significant intercepts of sulphide mineralization were encountered in several holes, requiring that a number of the mineralized intercepts be check-assayed in accordance with industry-standard quality-control/quality-assurance guidelines. This has resulted in an additional delay in finalizing the drilling results for public dissemination which is expected in the coming weeks.

(i)Management believes these historical resource estimates are useful for the Company's exploration programs, but advises investors that these estimates predate NI 43-101 guidelines. Therefore, these historical estimates should not be relied on by investors. A full discussion of historic exploration of the B Zone and several other mineralized zones on the Haskins-Reed property is available in an amended 43-101 report filed on www.sedar.com.

"The Haskins-Reed project continues to demonstrate strong grades over substantial widths," said Pacific Bay CEO David H. Brett.

"Of particular interest is the bismuth content, which trades in the range of $11-13 per pound and is an increasingly important metal for a number of specialized industrial uses."

Pacific Bay Trenches 10 Metres of 87.42 g/t Silver, 1.49% Zinc, 2.18% Lead at Haskins-Reed

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 8, 2011) - David H. Brett, President and CEO, Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PBM) (the "Company") reports that a 214 metre 2011 trenching program focusing on the Meteor Zone of its 100% owned Haskins-Reed project in northern BC, including 15 excavator trenches, encountered significant silver and base metal values.

The Meteor zone has now been traced on strike for over 555 metres. The estimated widths of the zone vary from 4 to 16 metres and it is offset by several faults.

The zone is open both along strike to the north and south and down dip. It is centered above a magnetic anomaly interpreted to be an intrusive body, is coincident with a strong VLF-EM anomaly and is along strike from a multi-element geochemical anomaly 2 km to the south east. A table summarizing the significant trenching results is located below.

Pacific Bay Signs Agreement to Acquire Key Uranium Property in Cerro Solo Region of Chubut, Argentina
November 17, 2011 - 09:00:00 AM VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 17, 2011) - David H. Brett, President and CEO, Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PBM) (the "Company") reports that the Company's wholly owned Argentine subsidiary Bahia Atlantica, S.A. has signed an agreement with state owned Petrominera Chubut S.E. granting the Company an option to acquire 90% of the July Uranium Project, located Chubut Province, Argentina. The 2,330 hectare July Project is located within the boundaries of the Company's 100% owned, 38,000 hectare Regalo Property, and hosts a number of significant uranium zones explored historically by the Argentine government.

Situated within the favorable Los Adobes formation, the July Project was explored historically by CNEA, Argentina's state owned nuclear energy firm that is also the owner of the Cerro Solo deposit 40km to the south. Of interest were two uraniferous paleo-channels discovered along the hydro-electric power-line that traverses the property which to date have been traced in outcrop on surface for approximately 250 meters long on surface and measuring 1-5 meters in width, with high scintillometer readings traced along strike for 1,500 meters. The shallow dipping structures are near surface and have potential for significant tonnage. A brief reconnaissance of the July Project by Pacific Bay in March of 2011 returned grab samples up to 0.108% and scintillometer readings up to 9,000 counts per second.

The uranium mineralization at the July Project is similar to Pacific Bay's "Regalo Norte" discovery announced in May of this year, approximately 3 km to the south, where reconnaissance prospecting revealed high scintillometer readings and assays up to 0.14% uranium over a 1km square area.

"Management believes the Cerro Solo region of the San Jorge basin in Chubut is one of the world's premier uranium exploration destinations," said Pacific Bay CEO David H. Brett. "With majors such as Cameco recently making significant investments in the area, Pacific Bay is confident that adding to its already sizable land position will position the Company to take advantage of increasing exploration activity."

Under the agreement with Petrominera, to earn a 90% interest in the property, Pacific Bay must incur exploration expenditures of USD $3.7 million over 6 years as follows: i) first six months, $50,000, ii) next 6 months, $50,000, iii) next 36 months, $1,600,000, iv) next 24 months, $2,000,000 towards a preliminary feasibility study.

Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd.: Target Zone at Ax Silver/Copper Property Expanded
November 30, 2011 - 09:00:00 AM VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 30, 2011) - David H. Brett, President and CEO, Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PBM) (the "Company") reports that the 2011 MMI Phase II soil sampling program at the Company's 100% optioned Ax Silver Property near Cassiar in Northern BC has expanded the 2010 multi-element soil geochemical anomaly by 600 metres to the northeast. Traditional multi-element soil geochemical anomaly obtained through 2010 soil sampling combined with 2011 MMI soil geochemical anomaly now measures approximately 600 metres by 800 metres.

The Phase II exploration program was designed to target stratabound, replacement-style silver-lead-zinc-copper mineralization, similar to that at the Silver Tip silver-lead-zinc deposit situated 40 km to the northwest. The 2011 sampling work also extended geochemical coverage over the thicker overburden-covered areas within the property. One hundred and nine MMI soil samples were collected from approximately seven kilometres of GPS-controlled survey grid lines. The 2011 MMI soil sampling extended 2010 geochemical coverage to the northeast by approximately 600 metres and defined several clusters of multi-element geochemical anomalies that form at least one 300-metre by 600-metre target zone. This target combined with 2010 soil and rock anomaly now measures approximately 600 metres by 800 metres. Also, several additional individual geochemical anomalies have been identified, most of which are open for expansion.

In the northeastern part of the MMI soil grid, the presence of elevated nickel (Ni) in MMI samples forms a coherent 300m wide by over 1km long belt. This anomaly could possibly reflect a buried mafic intrusion.

Pacific Bay To Sell Part of its Argentina Uranium Portfolio to U3O8 Corp. for $850,000 in Stock and Cash

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 3, 2012) - David H. Brett, President and CEO, Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PBM) (the "Company") reports that the Company has signed a Letter of Intent with U3O8 Corp. (TSX VENTURE:UWE) to sell, subject to the acceptance of the TSX Venture Exchange, its 100% interest in its BASA 1-3 mineral claims in Chubut Province, Argentina to U3O8 Corp. in consideration for: (i) 1.5 million shares of U3O8 Corp.; (ii) payment of $100,000 in cash; and (iii) the Company retaining a 2% NSR which may be purchased at any time by U3O8 Corp. for $3 million.

The Company is committed to exploring its two other properties in the Cerro Solo uranium region of Chubut, the 100% owned, 400sq KM Regalo Property and the 90% optioned July Property.

"This agreement gives Pacific Bay shareholders exposure to U3O8 Corp.'s impressive portfolio of uranium properties in South America while still remaining a key explorer in the emerging Cerro Solo uranium district in Chubut," said Pacific Bay CEO David Brett. "I remain bullish on uranium and believe owing shares in the very well managed U3O8 Corp. provides a strategic avenue for Pacific Bay shareholders to leverage this property asset."

The Regalo and July properties are located approximately 35 kilometers North West of the state-owned Cerro Solo uranium deposit. At Regalo, prior prospecting, sampling, airborne surveys and geological work has confirmed the presence of significant sandstone hosted uranium mineralization. Strong scintillometer readings (1,500-5,000 CPS) were measured across a 1 sq. KM zone, where assays returned uranium values up to %0.138 U3O8. The mineralized zone is associated with a regional fault with uranium minerals found in sandstones and conglomerates of the Los Adobes Formation.

Internal to the Regalo, the July property is also situated within the favorable Los Adobes formation. Two previously discovered uraniferous paleo-channels have been traced in outcrop for approximately 250 meters on surface, measuring 1-5 meters in width. Along strike, high scintillometer readings have been traced for 1,500 meters. The shallow dipping structures are near surface and have significant potential. A brief reconnaissance of the July Project by Pacific Bay in March of 2011 returned grab samples up to 0.108% and scintillometer readings up to 9,000 counts per second.

Pacific Bay Samples up to 0.59% Uranium at July Project, Extends Mineralized Zones Over 400% to 1,200 Metres
June 25, 2012 - 09:00:00 AM VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 25, 2012) - David H. Brett, President and CEO, Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PBM) (the "Company") reports encouraging results from a prospecting, mapping and sampling program at the July uranium project in Chubut Province, Argentina. Using scintillometers, Company Geologists traced the two previously known 250 metre mineralized zones for an additional 950 metres to the west. 25 outcrop samples along the zones returned values ranging from 0.59% U3O8 to 0.004%, including 0.21%, 0.18%, 0.15%, 0.11%, and averaging 0.08% U3O8. A systematic hand trenching and sampling program is now underway that should yield over 100 samples from 25-30 trenches. The Company is earning a 90% interest in the property from state owned Petrominera Chubut, S.E.

"Exploration in the Cerro Solo uranium region remains very active, so it's timely that the July Project has advanced so quickly to a potentially drillable target in 2012," said Pacific Bay CEO David Brett. "The trenching program will give us a better idea of the dimensions and grade of the zones and help us design a drill program."

The July Project, located internal to the Company's larger, 400sq KM Regalo property and about 35 KM north East of the state owned Cerro Solo uranium deposit, is within the favourable Los Adobes geological formation with uranium mineralization identified to date occurring within the Bardas Coloradas sandstone/conglomerate member. Two sub-parallel, permeable, flat-lying sedimentary horizons that range in thickness from 1-5 meters have returned highly anomalous uranium values. Originally discovered along a power line road and traced for 250 meters east-west, the two channels were traced significantly further to the west and have now been identified over a 1,200 metre distance. The uranium enrichment is proximal to an east/west trending fault, with higher uranium values obtained closer to the fault and likely the result of hydrothermal remobilization and re-deposition along the permeable horizons. Company geologists believe that the source of the remobilized uranium could be originating from the stratigraphically lower Arroyo Pajaritos member, which is the known host of the most significant uranium deposits in the region, such as the Cerro Solo deposit, and is estimated to be about 100 metres lower than the current July mineralization.

Pacific Bay Options Bulk Tonnage Gold Target in the Prolific Pataz Gold Belt, Peru

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 29, 2012) - David H. Brett, President and CEO, Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PBM) (the "Company" or "PBM") reports that the Company has signed a Letter of Intent (the "LOI") with Salwell Minerals S.A.C. ("Salwell") to acquire up to an 80% interest the Oro Pataz Gold Project located in the Pataz gold district, approximately 500km north of Lima, Peru (the "Property"). Management believes the Property has the potential to host both underground and bulk tonnage, open-pittable gold deposits.

The Pataz gold district has historic production of over 6 million ounces of gold with several currently operating mines in the region. The Property consists of 10 concessions comprising approximately 3,700 hectares located in the Trujillo Department. Mineralized zones occur as mesothermal gold-bearing quartz veins and stockworks within a propylitically altered and highly pyritized granodioritic host rock.

Exploration on the land package over the last 10 years has been limited in part due to fragmented land ownership which Salwell successfully consolidated in 2008. However, prior to 2002 a significant amount of exploration work was carried out, including: ground geophysics, remote sensing, trenching and a 10-hole drilling program. Much of the historic data, including the drilling, cannot be directly confirmed and is available in brief report.

However, two areas of surface gold mineralization separated by about 2 km were verified more recently by Salwell. The El Tornito Zone, discovered in 2006 by Salwell's geolgists, is 1,500m x 500m and has 19 rock chip samples that range from 0.16-1.75 ppm (averaging about 0.75 ppm). The Valentina Zone discovered in the late 1990s has been sampled over an area 500m x 500m with 10 rock chip assays that range from 0.11 to 1.48 ppm (averaging 0.71 ppm). Salwell's geologists have re-sampled some of these test pits and verified the presence of gold mineralization at these levels.

This Valentina Zone was also the subject of the drill testing which has not yet been verified, but which apparently encountered significant gold values under the surface mineralization. Reported intercepts include 10.3 grams per tonne gold over 15.2 metres, 8.78 gpt gold over 9.7 metres and 10.5 gpt gold over 12.8 metres. The intercepts are reported as core length only; true widths unknown. The average down-hole depth of the structural zone is approximately 80 m. A full table of the drilling results follows.

Broad zones of low grade mineralization at surface, combined with better reported grades at depth, bolsters management's view that the Property has open pit and high grade underground potential...........

Pacific Bay Trenching Outlines 2,000 Metre Long, 3.5 Metre Thick Uraniferous Sandstone Layer at July Project, Chubut

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 19, 2012) - David H. Brett, President and CEO, Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PBM) (the "Company") reports strong results from a trenching and sampling program at the July uranium project in Chubut Province, Argentina. Sixty-nine rock samples from 20 hand trenches across the 2,000 metre long zone averaged 180ppm uranium over 3.5 metres thickness. As outlined in the table below, many higher grade values, up to 2,122ppm, were obtained within the 3.5-metre thick sandstone layer. The July Project is a claim block under option from Petrominera, S.A. and within Pacific Bay's 100% owned, 400sq km Regalo Property, located northeast of the government owned Cerro Solo Deposit and adjoining the Bororo Nuevo uranium project recently acquired by Crosshair Minerals.

The July Project is within the favourable Los Adobes geological formation with uranium mineralization identified to date occurring within the Bardas Coloradas sandstone/conglomerate member. Two sub-parallel, permeable, flat-lying sedimentary horizons that range in thickness from 1 to 5 metres have now been confirmed over a significant area. The uranium enrichment is proximal to an east-west trending fault, with higher uranium values obtained closer to the fault and likely the result of remobilization and re-deposition along the permeable horizons. Company geologists believe that the source of the remobilized uranium is the stratigraphically lower Arroyo Pajaritos member less than 100 metres beneath the surface. The Arroyo Pajaritos hosts of the largest uranium deposits in the region, such as the Cerro Solo deposit.

Drilling is recommended for the next phase of work to test for higher grade uranium in the Arroyo Pajaritos member below the currently outlined mineralization. Also, further exploration is recommended to follow up of structures similar to those on the July project that were found in 2011 on the Company's larger 100% owned Regalo Property.
