Dazu passend ein Update vom CEO von Northern Graphite von heute. Denke dieses hat für zusätzlichen Kaufdruck gesorgt:
The Chinese government recently proposed a set of rules that would restrict new graphite mines in China to those producing at least 500,000 tonnes of ore per annum and that meet a number of other operational, quality and environmental standards. Assuming most would have a grade between 5 and 10% (being largely amorphous and small flake), new mines would have produce at least 20,000 tonnes of graphite per annum. According to Roskill’s 2009 graphite report, there are about 160 graphite mining operations in China but less than 20 are currently this size.
It is going to be much more difficult to build new graphite mines in China and most expect its existing production base to decline due to the effects of many years of high grading, the consolidation or elimination of smaller producers, and improvements in labor and environmental standards. This is already happening with many other metals and minerals and the government’s attention is increasingly turning to graphite. This is the third major graphite supply related announcement out of China this year. The other two are attached for reference. Interestingly, low prices may speed up the process as China does not want to sell its resources cheaply to the rest of the world, especially when there are large environmental costs involved in doing so, and they increase the pressure from industry to deal with illegal mining.
So far, none of the major graphite players or Li ion battery manufacturers have done much to encourage increased supply outside of China but we believe it will happen and our focus remains on negotiating strategic partnership/offtake agreement(s). There are very few development stage graphite companies and Northern is the only one that has disclosed complete independent, feasibility level confirmation of reserves and resources, capital and operating costs, metallurgy, flake size distribution, carbon content of concentrates, etc. As this information becomes available for other projects, we believe our competitive position will strengthen.
Best regards,
Greg

Big Flakes Finish First in the Graphite Market
Source: JT Long of The Critical Metals Report (8/21/12)
Flakes are king in the graphite space, where large flake commands a substantial premium. But the path to production can be long and twisted, with many moving parts. Resource and tech investor Ron Struthers met up with The Critical Metals Report and walked us through the funhouse of graphite investment. Read on to find out which companies look good in every mirror.

Hey hbg,
vielen Dank für die Infos!
Für "Interessierte"
Hier gehts zum MYG-Thread von hbg dazu:

Und hier zum CUL-Thread von hbg:

CUL kannte ich noch nicht!!
Seltsamerweise kommen die Graphite-Werte in Australien sehr gut an, während in Canada eher null Interesse herrscht...
