PT Bank Bali

Datacraft makes third e-solutions acquisition in just four months
PlaNET Technology Solutions fills out Datacraft e-commerce group
Singapore, 4 May 2000 - Moving rapidly to increase the breadth and depth of its end-to-end e-commerce solution capabilities, Datacraft Asia is buying a 60 per cent controlling interest in the Singapore-based Internet consulting company PlaNET Technology Solutions for S$13.8 million (US$8.12 million). PlaNET joins Hong Kong-based iSquare Solutions, acquired in January, and Kuala Lumpur-based DFI Consulting, acquired just last month, as a key element in Datacraft`s e-commerce consulting and integration group.
Combined with Datacraft`s comprehensive networking expertise, the three acquisitions provide Asia Pacific enterprises preparing to undertake e-business transformation with a compelling consulting and integration service offering. PlaNET`s strength in business-to-consumer e-commerce and customer-relationship management systems complement iSquare`s expertise in business-to-business and supply-chain management solutions, and both are supported by DFI Consulting`s skill in the integration enterprise resource planning systems with e-commerce front-ends.
"The acquisition of this majority stake in PlaNET Technology Solutions means we have pretty much completed the second phase of Datacraft`s Millennium Strategy, announced last November, by broadening our focus to include a full set of e-commerce solution capabilities," said Ron Cattell, chief executive officer of Datacraft Asia.
Datacraft`s Millennium Strategy was conceived to capture the opportunities for growth presented by the explosion of e-commerce that will take place in Asia Pacific economies over the next few years. According to the latest forecast from GartnerGroup, the business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce market in the Asia/Pacific region, outside Japan, is expected to reach US$1 trillion in five years as a result of aggressive annual growth rates of 155 per cent through 2004.
"With more than 125 experienced Internet business integration consultants working in five Asian cities we feel we have got many of the bases covered and have the full skill-set to help companies reinvent their businesses across industry sectors, geographic borders, and technologies. The next step is to create a virtual company that will integrate the capabilities of our recent e-commerce acquisitions and focus on growing our high-value e-business consultancy and solutions business," said Cattell.
Founded in 1996 as an IT consulting and services company by former Andersen Consulting senior manager Ronnie Wee, PlaNET Technology Solutions now has a team of 25 experienced Internet consultants, software developers and e-system integration specialists. The company has developed several customisable Web middleware products that have won it a string of awards in the last four years. They include:
- Nominated Innovative Product of the Year 1998 @ National IT Awards, Singapore
- Microsoft Certified Solution Provider
- Selected in 1998 to present innovative solutions to Bill Gates (Chairman, Microsoft) in Singapore
- Awarded Innovation Development Scheme (IDS) Grant from National Computer Board, Singapore in1997
PlaNET has an impressive customer portfolio in the financial services and manufacturing sectors and include Standard Chartered Bank, Kim Eng Securities, Dai-ichi Investments and General Motors.
"By allying ourselves with Datacraft Asia we are creating a highly-potent combination for delivering e-business solutions," said Ronnie Wee, managing director of PlaNET Technology Solutions. "We`ve been working on some cutting-edge e-commerce solutions and we will now be able to accelerate our development efforts. In addition, we gain the opportunity to address Datacraft Asia`s extensive base of customers in the financial services and other industry sectors."
PlaNET`s shareholders will receive about 52 per cent of their projected total pay out upon completion of the agreement. Datacraft will make payments of a further 16 per cent following the adoption of PlaNET`s accounts for December 2000 and the same again the following year. The balance is payable in December 2002.

Hallo Milch..
Milliarden an Kosten gespart.
