Hallo Kollf!

operating loss of $11.7 million before writing off an abnormal non-cash marketing expense of $42.18 million, representing the book
value of the 6 million shares issued to ANZ under the alliance with the bank. This issue to ANZ was approved by shareholders in

“E*TRADE’s Revenue growth has been outstanding. In addition to the 300 percent increase in revenue over the previous year,
we’ve booked a 165 percent increase over the December half-year income. Our results are in line with forecasts and market
expectations and are consistent with previous announcements,” said Michael Deleray, CEO, E*TRADE Australia.
In addition, the company`s customer account numbers have increased 224 percent over the year to more than 62,000 today, and the
total value of customer assets more than doubled, rising 106 percent to $1.7 billion. The company also had cash reserves of $22.5
million as of 30 June 2000.
Equity in the E*TRADE Australia brand continues to grow through aggressive and innovative marketing. Throughout the year
E*TRADE was the most recognised brand in the online share investment space, providing a platform for customer acquisition that
will endure in the years to come. This brand strength has led to the formation of further profitable alliances with News Interactive,
Ansett and Hilton
The ANZ alliance continues to work effectively and is a primary source of new customers. It is anticipated that ANZ will be issued
new shares (milestone shares) resulting in a total holding that is likely to be in the range of 15 percent to 20 percent. A further issue
of shares will be formalised on 29 September 2000, the last trading day of the current milestone period.
In addition to brand development, E*TRADE Australia made significant investments in product development. The website tools and
functionality have been enhanced to further empower the core market segment of self-directed share investors. E*TRADE Pro,
which was launched November 1999, is servicing the intermediary market and several new products have been developed for new
market segments that will diversify revenue streams and further expand the customer base.
“Our additional products open up new markets and allow us to diversify our revenue streams. We have invested considerable effort
and expense in this reporting period but haven’t yet seen the impact on revenue as many of these new products were not launched
until after 30 June,” Mr Deleray said.
E*TRADE also made significant enhancements to the website through the introduction of analyst-grade research and
recommendations. E*TRADE’s service provides, free of charge, independent analyst recommendations on over 400 stocks, as well
as leading-edge stock filtering and sector analysis tools. Once considered the exclusive domain of the traditional broker,
E*TRADE’s move to offer research and recommendations further undermines the position of the traditional broker in the retail
market.
E*TRADE made further improvements to the software-based E*TRADE Pro product, first made available to active traders, to
attract the intermediary market comprising private client brokers and financial planners. E*TRADE Australia recently announced a
strategic alliance with the Professional Investment Services Group of independent accountants and financial planners. They service
45,000 private clients for whom E*TRADE is now the preferred broker.
Another product launched last month was the E*TRADE Visitor Trade facility, which has added another dimension to the E*TRADE
broking service. It caters to investors that trade infrequently who require an easy-to-use online service for immediate sale of issuer
sponsored stock. The product allows any shareholder to sell issuer sponsored ASX stock online without opening a brokerage
account.
“Visitor Trade represented another market first for E*TRADE Australia and offers the opportunity to capture a significant portion of
the first-time shareholder market. The product was developed in conjunction with Computershare and is another positive example of
how we are leveraging our first tier collaborations,” added Mr. Deleray.
Computershare has recently lifted it`s stake in E*TRADE Australia from 13.5 percent to 15 percent.
In line with E*TRADE’s mission to expand from broking to broadly based online financial services, the company last month launched
their Managed Funds Centre and a margin lending facility. E*TRADE has revolutionised the way in which investors research and
purchase managed funds by enabling customers to research, compare, purchase and monitor managed funds 100 percent online.
The Centre provides access to the most comprehensive selection of retail and wholesale Managed Funds and the tools to help
customers invest wisely and manage their portfolios.
“These two products, managed funds and margin lending, introduce new and diverse revenue streams and drive new accounts to
E*TRADE, reducing our reliance on transactional-based revenue,” Mr Deleray said.

Hi Remus,

stockrush leicht konfus heute

Hallo zusammen,
sollte man Aussteigen bevor man richtig blutet.
