Hallo giggas,
1. Mögliche Branchenrotation
2. KZ von US$ 21,00
3. Keine kursstützenden News
Fazit:

Absolut NICHT Deiner Meinung (Branchenrotation)!!!

@ lovergts:
absolut Deiner Meinung!
@proteindesigner:

schaut euch alle wichtigen bios an, inkl. medarex, incyte etc.
commerce one etc. gerockt.

Folgende Meldung kam gestern nach Börsenschluss.ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jul 17, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Genomic Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq: GNSL ), has introduced the GeneTAC(TM) G3 Productivity Tool. It is a single, automated system designed for multiple genomic research functions, including printing biochips (micro-arraying), colony picking, macro-arraying, replication and selective re-arraying.
"The new G3 is specifically designed for people who are judged by the results they achieve, not just the methods they develop," notes Genomic Solutions` George Hutchinson, Global Product Manager-Genomics. "It is totally user friendly and can easily adapt to changing workloads."
The user simply changes the tool to change the G3 function. Library generation, library management and biochip production are achievable with one, easy-to-use tool. Additionally, the optional G3 Autoloader system is available to manage the automatic delivery of plates and slides onto the working area of the system. It enables long periods of truly unattended operation of 20 hours or longer. "The Autoloader lets the user work longer and smarter, since valuable lab personnel are now free to be productive working on other tasks," Hutchinson adds.
Predecessor to the GeneTAC G3 was the Flexys(R) Robotic Workstation that Genomic Solutions introduced in 1998 after acquiring PBA Technology, Ltd., an UK-based genomic robotics company. The last Flexys (#150) was manufactured this past June.
Genomic Solutions Inc. designs, develops, manufactures, markets and sells instruments, software, consumables and services used to determine the activity level of genes and to isolate, identify and characterize proteins. The company`s products and systems enable researchers to perform complex, high volume experiments at a lower cost and in less time than traditional techniques. As a result, Genomic Solutions products and systems facilitate more rapid and less expensive drug discovery. Genomic Solutions markets products through its corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan USA, and offices in the United Kingdom and Japan. Remaining worldwide distribution is provided by PerkinElmer Life Sciences through a strategic alliance with Genomic Solutions. The two companies also cooperate to sell co-branded products and collaborate to leverage their intellectual property and technologies.

@Giggas
rufe ebenfalls dazu auf, begründungen zu liefern.

Unter Umständen könnte man nochmal nachlegen.Mich würden Zahlen oder andere Infos brennend interessieren.Hoffentlich ist der Boden langsam gefunden.Verkaufen werde ich nicht.Good Luck.
Habe inzwischen seit 30 € viermal nachgelegt (Mischkurs inzwischen 20,90 €).

Genomic Solutions Reports Record Financial Results 54% Revenue Growth to $8.5 Million for First Half $61 Million Initial Public Offering
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jul 26, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Genomic Solutions
Inc. (Nasdaq: GNSL), a leading, worldwide supplier of automated solutions for
genomic and proteomic research, today announced record results for the first
half of the year and the quarter ended June 30, 2000.
(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20000714/GENOMICLOGO )
Revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2000 grew 54% to $8.5 million from
$5.5 million in the same period in 1999. Revenue for the three months ended June
30, 2000 increased 47% to $4.5 million from $3.1 million in the second quarter
of 1999. The revenue growth is attributable primarily to increased sales of the
Company`s GeneTAC(TM) Biochip and Investigator(TM) Proteomic Systems to new and
existing customers.
"This is our first reporting quarter as a public company following our May 4th
IPO," said Jeffrey S. Williams, president and chief executive officer. "We are
pleased we delivered an excellent quarter and first six months of the year with
better-than-expected revenue growth. This is the seventh consecutive quarter in
which we have achieved record revenue growth. We continue to build sales
momentum for our GeneTAC(TM) Biochip and Investigator(TM) Proteomic systems,
consumables and services."
Net loss for the three months ended June 30, 2000, was $2.3 million, or ($0.14)
per share, excluding the one-time restructuring charge of $600,000, or ($0.03)
per share, associated with closing of the Genomic Solutions Chelmsford, MA
facility, as compared to a net loss of $2.5 million, or ($0.85) per share, for
the same period in 1999. The Company reported for the second quarter of 2000 net
income attributable to common stockholders of $489,000, or $0.03 per share,
which includes the restructuring charge and a $3.4 million non-cash common stock
warrant benefit, compared to a net loss attributable to common stockholders of
$3.3 million, or ($1.12) per share for the second quarter of 1999.
Net loss for the six months ended June 30, 2000, was $5.1 million, or ($0.51)
per share, excluding the restructuring charge of $600,000, or ($0.06) per share,
and an extraordinary non-cash loss of $1.1 million, or ($0.11) per share, on
extinguishment of subordinated debt, as compared to a net loss of $4.5 million,
or ($1.55) per share for the first six months of 1999. The net loss attributable
to common stockholders for the six months ended June 30, 2000, which includes a
non-cash common stock warrant benefit of $1.1 million, or $0.11 per share, and a
non-cash deemed dividend on issuance of preferred stock of $8 million, or
($0.80) per share, was $13.7 million, or ($1.37) per share, compared to $5.3
million or ($1.81) per share.
"We expect our revenue to continue to grow as a result of several factors,"
Williams adds. "Those factors include:
* Increased investment in marketing and sales, including the recent
addition of several new sales and product management personnel in the
United States, United Kingdom and Japan, as well as increased marketing
presence through additional trade journal advertising and attendance at
trade shows.
* PerkinElmer Inc. ("PKI"), Genomic Solutions` strategic partner with
distribution responsibilities for all of our products outside the US, UK
and Japan, is gaining sales momentum. PerkinElmer sales representatives
are now fully trained on Genomic Solutions products and are given
significant incentives to sell and promote the company`s products.
Additionally, with the acquisition of NEN Life Sciences by PKI, Genomic
Solutions expects to see additional future benefits resulting from the
integration of the NEN sales force and products into PKI Life Sciences.
* The rapid pace of instrument and system sales is driving increasing
levels of high margin reagent and consumable usage. Sales of consumables
are expected to accelerate even faster in the future as more Genomic
Solutions high-throughput biochip and proteomic systems are brought on
line at customer sites. In addition, in the second half of this year,
we will launch several new consumable products including a unique, low
background, biochip substrate for which we have filed for patent
protection. The company also will launch additional GeneMAP(TM) arrays
consisting of human, mouse and rat genes.
* The company`s continued investment in research and development will lead
to several new product launches of instruments and software products
this year. Genomic Solutions recently announced the launch of the
GeneTAC G3 multi-function productivity tool. This robotic product
replaces the Flexys(R) Robotic Workstation that enjoyed sales of more
than 150 units worldwide. Demand for the G3 has been stronger than
expected for the third quarter of 2000. We will launch our ProPic(TM)
Automated Proteomic Platform and our Protein Warehouse(TM) software
later this year with many advance orders already in hand.
* Genomic Solutions is investing in a large-scale proteomic facility at
its Ann Arbor, Michigan headquarters. Plans call for the new facility
to be completed during the third quarter with capabilities for protein
expression analysis, identification and characterization. The company
expects revenue growth for our proteomic services business to continue
to accelerate as the new facility comes on line."
Williams continues: "While revenue growth is important to the management and
board of directors, Genomic Solutions remains focused on achieving significant
levels of profitability. We are pleased with our progress in this regard,
including our results for this quarter."
"In addition to strong revenue growth and the ability to deliver high value
products to customers, several developments continue to indicate the company`s
progress toward the goal of achieving profitability. Gross margins continue to
improve at or better than plan as a result of improved utilization of production
facilities and economies of scale in instrument and consumable manufacture.
Additionally, while marketing, sales and research and development are being
aggressively expanded, operating expenses are growing at a slower rate than
revenue growth. We believe we are on track with analysts` expectations for
Genomic Solutions to become profitable late next year," says Williams.

Also good trade allzeit.

(anmerkung: STEM + 86 % in zwei Tagen)

Mal wieder News!
Genomic Solutions Opens New Proteomic Center
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sep 21, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Genomic Solutions
Inc. (Nasdaq: GNSL), a leading, worldwide supplier of automated solutions for
genomic and proteomic research, announces the opening of its new, state-of-
the-art Proteomic Center located at the Ann Arbor headquarters.
(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20000714/GENOMICLOGO )
The Proteomic Center`s research and development, contract research services and
reagent manufacturing labs are currently operative and supplying products and
services to customers around the world. GSI has hired skilled personnel with the
experience required to offer high quality in-house proteomic research services
from customer project planning to full protein characterization. The lab has the
capacity to run hundreds of large format 2-D gels per week and identify and
characterize thousands of proteins. Tools used include several methods of
prefractionation followed by either 1-D or large format 2D gel electrophoresis
with both IEF and IPG first dimension. Following separation, the entire
automated Investigator Proteomic System for gel staining, imaging, analysis,
plug excision, digestion and spotting to MALDI targets is used to provide
maximum throughput and reproducibility. A full complement of Mass Spectrometers
is used including ion trap MS, MALDI-TOF MS and LC-MS/MS for protein
characterization, identification and de-novo sequencing {in gel sequencing}.
"The business is growing rapidly, and now our new Proteomic Center provides us
with the state of the art infrastructure and highly skilled personnel we will
require to sustain our growth," says Christine Ethier, Vice President of the
Proteomics Business Unit at Genomic Solutions. "Our goal is to be the premier
proteomic automation company and fee-for-service protein characterization
laboratory in the marketplace. We have made a major investment in the
infrastructure required to accomplish this including a more than doubling of our
staff of highly recruited scientists." To that end, Genomic Solutions has
announced the following appointments within its Proteomics Business Unit:
Michael Pisano, Ph.D., recently joined Genomic Solutions as Vice President of
Proteomic Research and Development. Dr. Pisano comes to GSI from Aventis
Pharmaceuticals where he was head of the Protein Sciences Group. The Group was
responsible for proteomic projects within the company as well as development and
implementation of proteomic technologies.
Beth Allen, Ph.D., has joined Genomic Solutions as Director of Proteomic
Research Services. She is responsible for operation of the Proteomic Research
Service Laboratory. Dr. Allen played a key role in the initiation and
implementation of a proteomic facility at Los Alamos National Laboratories.
Rick Edmondson, Ph.D., has joined Genomic Solutions as Director of the Protein
Mass Spectrometry Group. Dr. Edmondson was previously responsible for the mass
spectrometry portion of the Protein Sciences group at Aventis Pharmaceuticals.
He is now responsible for the operations of the Protein Mass Spectrometry Group
in Proteomic R&D.
In addition, the Proteomic Center is staffed with several other Ph.D. and
bachelor level staff scientists and technicians recruited from academia and
industry.
"We now have the most sophisticated proteomic instruments available, plus the
experienced people to operate them," Dr. Pisano notes.
"The Proteomic Center offers a unique situation in which we provide research
services on a contractual basis and, if so desired, the technology and products
can actually be transferred to the customer. This also allows the development of
proteomic technologies to be driven by the needs of researchers with whom we
will be involved on a daily basis," Dr. Pisano adds.
Genomic Solutions Inc. designs, develops, manufactures, markets and sells
instruments, software, consumables and services used to determine the activity
level of genes and to isolate, identify and characterize proteins. The company`s
products and systems enable researchers to perform complex, high volume
experiments at a lower cost and in less time than traditional techniques. As a
result, Genomic Solutions products and systems facilitate more rapid and less
expensive drug discovery. Genomic Solutions markets products through its
corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan USA, and offices in the United
Kingdom and Japan. Remaining worldwide distribution is provided by PerkinElmer
Life Sciences through a strategic alliance with Genomic Solutions. The two
companies also cooperate to sell co-branded products and collaborate to leverage
their intellectual property and technologies.

@ to2300 und alle gnsl-investierten
kurzfristig:
The CEOs of two newly public companies, Jeff Williams of Genomic Solutions(Nasdaq: GNSL) and Bill Erwin of Large Scale Biology Corp. (Nasdaq: LSBC), will update listeners on developments at their companies as will Mats Johnson, VP of Proteomics for Amersham Pharmacia, a subsidiary of Nycomed Amersham (NYSE: NYE).
Dr. Stefan Unger, Ph.D. and Director of Drug Discovery Technologies for Frost & Sullivan (F&S), will offer the industry overview from the consulting side.
According to Frost & Sullivan`s recent research report, "World Proteomics Markets," the size of the market for proteomics will grow eight-fold from an estimated $700 million in 1999 to $5.8 billion in 2005. The four main segments of the proteomics markets, Frost & Sullivan reports, are: Instruments, "wet" technologies and supplies, laboratory services and bioinformatics. Proteomics`
relative infancy offers "a wealth of opportunity," added F&S.
also, wünsche kurzfristig mit gnsl viel erfolg, langfristig kommt er sowieso.
