IVP Technology announces major Power Audit sale in U.S.
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug 17, 2000 (CNW via COMTEX) -- IVP
Technology Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: TALL ), today
announced the first major U.S. sale of its PowerAudit software to
California-based Strategic Merchandising Partners Inc. (SMP), a third
party sales and merchandising agency. Clients of Strategic
Merchandising Partners (SMP) include Navarre Corporation, Lernout &
Hauspie, and DK Publishing Inc.
"IVP is pleased to enter into a contract with a company of SMP`s
stature," said John Maxwell, IVP President. "It validates the power of
our software and reflects management`s commitment to building IVP
into the leading provider of business applications for the handheld
computer market."
"PowerAudit is so beautifully designed, we bought it and scrapped
similar software we had in development for six months," said Cheri
Wells, Vice- President of SMP. "With 180 remote sales staff across
the U.S., timely and accurate reporting is the hardest part of our
business. PowerAudit not only speeds up accurate reporting but is
also easy to implement with minimal training. The software adapts to
us and our lingo, and it has the flexibility to change all the way down
to base terminology."
"We estimate that our field staff will save about 30% in administration
time using PowerAudit. That means 30% more time for
revenue-producing tasks. PowerAudit will also enable us to better serve our accounts. It will
take us from monthly reporting to daily reporting. The software makes information useful on
input and there`s no manual tweaking necessary," said Cheri Wells.
According to Ms. Wells, SMP has successfully field-tested PowerAudit and will roll it out
nationally on September 1.
PowerAudit is one of the few business software solutions designed exclusively for the
handheld computing market. It supports full wireless capability. IVP is the sole distributor of
PowerAudit software in the United States and the European Economic Community. Built
around Microsoft`s Windows CE operating system and uses the Internet in its communication
and delivery architecture, PowerAudit software provides a secure platform for remote data
collection and the rapid, efficient and cost-effective delivery of market intelligence to corporate
decision-makers.
