      Hier mal was zum spekulieren:

(Endemol BigBrother?)

gleich noch´ne relativ aktuelle Meldung :

      Kfar Saba, Israel - 9 September, 2000

Orad Hi-Tec Systems Ltd. (Neuer Markt: OHT.f) announced the launch of its revolutionary “Clickable Video” concept based on Orad’s tracking technologies. The first “clickable video” version, which targets the live online webcasting market, will be used for news, sports and other Internet productions. It is the first real web interactive video application and is applicable to set top boxes and interactive TV as well. The new application serves to increase viewers’ attraction to TV and Internet programs and provides a perfect platform for novel interactive merchandising and advertising programs. Orad has several customers, like UK’s WSI, Skynet of Hong Kong, the Toronto Star in Canada and AENTV of the US already using its webcasting solutions for Internet virtual set productions.

The “Clickable Video” is a revolutionary interactive system that uses Orad’s tracking technology to track clickable zones on the live video. The tracking technology allows hot spots to be dynamic and move freely on the video either in association with real or virtual objects. The insertion of clickable areas to the video is done automatically without the need to insert hot spots frame by frame. Viewers can click on the video area itself rather than on the side graphic buttons. Viewers will be able to influence the outcome of a show they are watching by simply clicking on the video in real time.
This application can be used for the webcasting of news, sports, auctions, shopping, game shows, children shows and many other types of productions.
Dr. Miki Tamir, Orad’s Co-Founder and Executive Vice President stated that: “Video streaming on the Net needs interactivity to create attractive medium for Internet users, accustomed to it and expecting it. In order to cater for this need, we are taking advantage of our field of view and objects tracking methods we have developed for our virtual set and sports products as well as the streaming and graphical display technologies.”

With the “Clickable Video” technology, hot spots in the real video are associated with URL locations. When the hot spot is being clicked, the script associated with the URL is being executed. This can be used either for virtual production or real production using a real set. When the camera moves, objects or talents on the set are constantly changing their location. With Orad’s “Clickable Video”, the location of the hot spots will move automatically with the objects or talents in the video.
Dr. Tamir continued: “The advantages of the “Clickable Video” concept are multifold. It provides an exciting and dynamic interactivity in real time and can be used practically with any type of webcast production. For example, with live news show viewers will be able to choose the path of news that interests them; viewers will be able to compete against contestants in a game show studio just by clicking on the video. Moreover, viewers will be able to participate in live auction and shopping shows, again by simply clicking the video in order to place bets, get more information or even purchase the jacket of the presenter.”
