SAN JOSE, Calif. & IRVING, Texas--(BW HealthWire)--Nov. 27, 2000--An additional 16 of the nation`s top industry manufacturers and distributors have agreed to sell their hospital products and services through Marketplace@Novation, a leading online procurement solution powered by Neoforma. Neoforma.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:NEOF - news) and Novation, the supply company of VHA Inc. and the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), reported today that with the newly signed suppliers, Marketplace@Novation now has a total of 49 manufacturers and distributors.

Among the new suppliers that have agreed to connect their information systems and offer their products through Marketplace@Novation are Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK - news), Kimberly-Clark Corporation (NYSE:KMB - news), Marconi Medical Systems` (Nasdaq:MONI - news) Health Care Products (HCP), Shared Service Systems and Standard Textile Company Inc.

By connecting their information systems to Marketplace@Novation, suppliers will have access to real-time supply chain data, empowering them to make better decisions and lower their supply chain costs. Neoforma will digitize, categorize and display the products and services that each supplier offers on Marketplace@Novation.

Suppliers signed to Marketplace@Novation offer a wide range of products, including medical/surgical and imaging supplies and equipment, pharmaceuticals, and other products for general and specialty distribution. Currently, these 49 manufacturers and distributors represent more than $3.2 billion, or over 20 percent, of total sales to VHA and UHC members.

``The presence of these 16 additional suppliers in the Marketplace greatly enhances the breadth of our product offering,`` commented Bob Zollars, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Neoforma. ``We are very enthusiastic about the continued momentum we`ve seen in building our e-commerce solution.``

Neoforma and Novation also announced that, in addition to the new supplier sign ups, 27 new hospitals have signed up to use Marketplace@Novation, bringing the total to 186.
