Hi,
der Analysten-Downgrade könnts auch noch sein:
Lazard Freres downgraded E.piphany and Kana Communications
from Outperform to Hold based on lower IT spending in 2001.

Kana Communications, Inc. Reports Record Revenues for Fourth Quarter of Fiscal Year 2000
748 Percent Revenue Growth marks a Tremendous Growth Year for Kana
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Kana Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: KANA - news), a leading provider of enterprise relationship management (eRM) solutions, today announced record results for the fourth quarter ending December 31, 2000 and for Fiscal Year 2000.
Kana`s revenues for the quarter ended December 31, 2000 were $42.4 million, a 557% increase over revenues of $6.5 million in the same period in the prior year. Pro forma net loss increased to $33.2 million, or $(0.37) per share, in the fourth quarter of 2000 compared to $12.0 million, or $(0.23) per share, during the same period in the prior year. For 2000, Kana`s revenues were $119.2 million, a 748% increase over revenues for the prior year of $14.1 million. Pro forma loss per share was $(1.09) for 2000 compared to $(1.27) for the prior year.
Including the amortization and impairment of goodwill and stock-based compensation, net loss for the quarter was $2.4 billion, or $(27.21) per share. The results for the fourth quarter include an impairment charge of $2.1 billion related to goodwill associated with the acquisition of Silknet Software, Inc., and the recognition of a one-time $2.0 million loss for litigation and settlement costs associated with a recently settled patent litigation.
Commenting on the results for the quarter, Chief Executive Officer Jay Wood said, ``Our growth in license revenue reflects continued marketplace acceptance of our Web-architected relationship management solutions among Global 2000 companies. These world-leading companies accounted for a large percentage of Kana sales in Q4 and include CIGNA, Ford Wingcast, Comcast, AT&T, Sara Lee, Verizon, 3Com, Aetna, The Chase Manhattan Bank, Sprint, PG&E and Mazda, among others. Also contributing to the record quarter were sales of new products into existing accounts, business won jointly through our IBM and Accenture relationships, and our B2B business.``
``During the quarter the Kana engineering and product teams delivered a range of new products including Kana 6 Service and Marketing applications, the Kana 7 eBusiness Platform for Java/EJB, which is now installed at Fortune 50 accounts, including GE Capital and Cisco, and Kana`s mBusiness wireless solution,`` said Mr. Wood.
Mr. Wood moved to strengthen the management team by promoting David Fowler to President and Nigel Donovan to Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Fowler will have day-to-day responsibility for sales, marketing, and business development. He brings 25 years of technology business experience to the position including successful senior management roles in sales, marketing, and business development at Silknet, Chipcom, Sun Microsystems, and Gradient technologies.
As COO, Mr. Donovan will be responsible for engineering, professional services, and customer support. This represents a return to his prior role at Silknet, where as COO, he carried equivalent responsibility for all aspects of the customer life cycle experience, covering both product and services. Nigel brings more than 13 years of experience in managing service organizations in the enterprise applications and solutions environment, through both his time at Silknet, where he was a co-founder, and his prior role as VP of professional services with a high-end international financial applications company.
Despite slowdowns in IT spending, analysts predict continued good growth in the eRM market where Kana plays a leadership role. As a result, Kana is anticipating year over year growth to be greater than 50% in 2001 while taking the necessary actions to assure achieving current goals of being cash flow positive in Q3 and profitable in Q4.

moin,

mein Fazit:
