Spatializer Audio Laboratories, Inc. Launches Spatializer Vi.B.E.(TM) Into The Portable Digital Audio Market with Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.
Sanyo Announces Its New SSP-PD10 Portable Digital Audio Player, Powered by The Cirrus Logic EP7309 Processor, as the First Such Device Equipped With Spatializer Vi.B.E. Bass Enhancement Technology
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Spatializer Audio Laboratories, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SPAZ - news) announced today that Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. has licensed Spatializer Vi.B.E.(TM) virtual bass enhancement technology for its newest Portable Digital Audio Player, the SSP-PD10, powered by the Cirrus Logic (Nasdaq: CRUS - news) EP7309 processor. The SSP-PD10 player was unveiled at World PC Expo 2001 in Tokyo and is scheduled for release into the retail market in October.

      (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20010525/LAF026LOGO )
The SSP-PD10 player also features a built-in 64MB flash memory and can store and play back music of near CD-quality for three hours. It supports WMA, MP3 and AAC audio compression systems. WMRM(TM) by Microsoft and Secure Portable Player Platform(TM) (SP3) by Liquid Audio are provided for secure download of music over internet. The SSP-PD10 comes with a USB battery charger circuit and a nickel hydride battery so that the battery can be charged when the player is connected to a computer. No external battery charger is required.

``We are pleased to announce our first design win for the portable digital audio player market with Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.,`` remarked Henry R. Mandell, Chairman and CEO of Spatializer Audio Laboratories. ``We targeted this market and have invested much time and effort with both Cirrus Logic and Sanyo to optimize our audio enhancement technologies on both the Cirrus Logic EP7309 processor and on the new Sanyo SSP-PD10. It is most gratifying to see our plan come together with the launch of the SSP-PD10 digital audio player.``

Portable digital audio designers face a multitude of challenges in delivering the ultimate audio experience on these platforms, due to constraints in size, processing resources, headset frequency response capability and power consumption. Spatializer Vi.B.E. delivers a powerful and cost and resource effective solution to these challenges, designed to tap and enhance the audio capability of a RISC or digital signal processor. Spatializer Vi.B.E. provides a dramatic bass enhancement experience through even the most inexpensive ``frequency response challenged`` speakers or headphones. It also uses Spatializer`s proprietary psycho-acoustic and harmonics techniques to generate the impression of realistic bass frequencies that would ordinarily be difficult to discern in small speakers or portable headphones. The scalable architecture allows maximum flexibility, requiring only a small fraction of available MIPS and memory while still providing the highest possible audio enhancements, resulting in a richer and warmer listening experience for the consumer. Spatializer Vi.B.E. allows for the OEM to significantly upgrade the audio quality of portable digital audio players, cell phones, car audio, Internet appliances, portable CD players, televisions, home stereos, headphones and boom boxes, among others.

Tokuo Yokota, Senior Manager of Sanyo Technosound Co., Ltd. said ``We are pleased to be launching the new SSP-PD10 portable digital audio player and to be the first in this market to offer Spatializer Vi.B.E. as a key selling feature.``

``The Cirrus EP7309 processor delivers outstanding audio performance with contemporary digital content standards like MP3, WMA and AAC,`` stated Matthew R. Perry, vice president and general manager of Cirrus Logic`s Crystal Products Division. ``By adding Spatializer`s audio enhancement technology to the formidable capabilities of the Cirrus EP7309 processor, we have developed a powerful and effective solution which delivers on the promise of the digital audio revolution.``

      - The player also has Spatializer-simulated surround sound for a good imitation of 3D audio from two speakers or when using headphones. -

And the audio input is actually an audio/video input, so you can view photos from your digital camera on the SD-P1500`s large screen if you like. You`ll also find an optical/coaxial digital audio output to connect to your home-theater receiver for surround sound. The player also has Spatializer-simulated surround sound for a good imitation of 3D audio from two speakers or when using headphones. There are two headphone jacks that let you share the audio with a friend--a nice touch. And the dynamic range control balances Dolby 5.1 dialogue and ambient audio quite well.
The list price of the SD-P1500 is $1,199--$400 less than that of the earlier SD-P1000. In terms of value, the SD-P1500 is a great no-compromise solution for DVD enthusiasts wanting to take their home theater on the road. The only things that you might miss are a progressive-scan mode and an MP3 playback feature, but a portable player with a picture this good is hard to beat.

Texas Instruments and RealNetworks to Enable Mobile Access to the Largest Selection of Internet Media Content
      MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2001 9:30 AM
      - PRNewswire

DALLAS and SEATTLE, Sep 17, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE:TXN) and RealNetworks(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:RNWK) today announced that RealPlayer(R) Mobile, the mobile version of the world`s leading digital media player, will be optimized for TI`s OMAP platform for mobile handsets and made available to wireless service operators and mobile telephone handset manufacturers. This fundamental optimization will enable high levels of performance for digital media playback on mobile devices, utilizing the OMAP platform, an architecture that has become the de facto standard for 2.5G and 3G handsets. By enabling this functionality in next generation wireless devices, mobile carriers and handset manufacturers will now be able to bring media-enabled handsets to market more quickly, giving their subscribers access to the wide array of Internet media content available today.

In January 2001, RealNetworks and TI announced the integration of RealAudio(R) and RealVideo(R) codecs for TI`s DA250 processor and the OMAP platform; the companies have expanded their relationship to now include RealNetworks` RealPlayer Mobile with TI`s high-performance and power efficient OMAP710 and OMAP1510 processors. This expanded collaboration will enhance the digital media experience for consumers -- better, crisper video and audio playback without compromising power consumption. TI`s mobile expertise and leadership in programmable digital signal processing (DSP), and RealNetworks` world-class Internet media delivery technology will be fused into next generation mobile appliances such as portable Internet audio players, mobile handsets and personal digital assistants (PDAs). Wireless service operators and handset manufacturers will be able to offer their customers the ability to watch breaking news, entertainment and sports highlights, listen to music and watch movie trailers -- all through RealPlayer Mobile.

"We welcome this joint effort by TI and RealNetworks. Nokia is pioneering mobile video with its recently launched Nokia 9200 Series Communicators, and it is our intention to further develop mobile multimedia capabilities in our upcoming products based on Symbian OS and TI`s OMAP architecture. The solution offered by TI and Real Networks is excellent for this purpose," said Janne Jormalainen, Vice President, Product Marketing, Nokia Mobile Phones.

"Today`s announcement with TI is significant to wireless product and services providers and to mobile consumers," said Martin Plaehn, senior vice president, Media Systems, RealNetworks, Inc. "Mobile device manufacturers will benefit by being able to offer high-performance digital media capabilities in their handsets to their customers. Mobile service providers will be able to provide additional high value services, and mobile users will be able to experience rich digital media content without compromising the performance of their mobile device."

"By optimizing the RealPlayer Mobile for TI`s OMAP platform, we will enable mobile device manufacturers quick and easy integration of audio and video onto next-generation wireless devices," said Alain Mutricy, general manager of TI`s OMAP platform. "We are excited about the technology that RealNetworks and TI will provide to mobile consumers -- a true digital media experience."

The core components of RealNetworks` RealPlayer Mobile technology will be optimized for TI`s high performance, low power OMAP architecture. TI`s OMAP processors are the engines that make real-time communications-based applications a reality in wireless handsets and advance mobile devices.

Handset manufacturer customers using TI`s programmable DSP-based OMAP platform and programmable DSPs can easily incorporate support for RealPlayer Mobile into their products and enable mobile access to digital media in RealNetworks` formats, which are used by 85% of streaming media Web pages. The support for RealPlayer Mobile is scheduled to be available in the first quarter of 2002.

RealNetworks is a member of TI`s OMAP Developers Network, a group of companies writing wireless applications for mobile Internet devices. OMAP developers enjoy a variety of tools and support to enable rapid application development for leading operating systems and programming languages plus the opportunity to collaborate with a range of developers designing applications such as multimedia, security, location based services, mobile commerce and gaming. OMAP developers also benefit from TI`s open, scalable OMAP platform, which has been selected by Nokia, Ericsson, Sony, Sendo, HTC and others for their 2.5 and 3G wireless devices. For more information about the OMAP Developers Network, please visit www.ti.com/sc/omap.

      Hallo Andy,

In pectore..

Spatializer N-2-2 provides the vast majority of our DVD+VCR customers who do not have an expensive six speaker set-up with a unique, robust listening experience,`` said Janet Leising, vice president of marketing and business development, SONICblue. ``Our Go-Video integrated DVD+VCR players provide consumers with DVD and VCR technology in one easy-to-use product. Spatializer virtual surround sound technology gives our customers yet another advanced feature, providing for an authentic audio experience.``

      Snare

Gab es da schon mal was??
