COLOMBIA GOLDFIELDS
"Mission Statement
Colombia Goldfields intends to acquire and develop a portfolio of advanced precious metals projects in the underdeveloped mineral-rich country of Colombia providing shareholders with maximum leverage in a time of increasing economic uncertainty.
Growth Strategy
The world is a rapidly changing place. Many mineral-rich countries which were not desirable locations for foreign capital only a few short years ago, are now far more promising. Recently, some of the world`s top mining companies have moved into countries such as Colombia, Chiina and Russia which have suffered from a lack of financial and technical development. They realize that with the added uncertainty associated with some of these countries, favorable deals on highly-prospective projects can be negotiated which would command significantly more capital if located elsewhere.
In Colombia for instance, Anglo Gold has recently announced the purchase of two projects for US$3.5 million and further announced plans to spend US$50 million over the next few years to develop the deposits.

"In fact, Colombia Goldfields has acquired an option on three advanced projects located in the heart of one of Colombia`s richest mining regions - the Marmato Mountain Mining District. The company can earn a 100% interest in the projects, known as the Caramanta concessions, by spending US$3 million over a three year period. Aproximately US$9 million has been spent on exploration of the properties by a previous operator. Colombia Goldfields has pre-paid the entire first year exploration program by advancing their experienced team of Colombian based geologists US$500,000. The initial work program consisting of detailed mapping, geochemical stream sampling, rock sampling and a diamond drill program has commenced.
Colombia is stabilizing rapidly under the leadership of President Alvaro Uribe and his commitment to reforms aimed at encouraging foreign investment in the mining sector while reducing the state`s role as a producer of minerals. Colombia surely promises to shine as a world-class producer of gold.

"Caramanta Gold Project
Project Summary
The Caramanta Gold Project is located in the heart of Colombia`s historic gold mining region - Marmato Mountain Mining District. The Marmato district is located 2 hours and 118 km south of Medellin on the Pan American highway. Mines in this district have been continuously producing gold for more than 500 years since the middle of the 16th century, and appear to have been worked by the Inca tribes prior to the conquest.
Colombia Goldfields has commenced a detailed work program consisting of detailed mapping, geochemical stream sampling, rock sampling and a diamond drill program. The company has pre-paid the entire first year exploration program by advancing their experienced team of Colombian based geologists US$500,000.
Project Location
Caramanta is located in the Antioquia department, 118 km south of Medellin, in the Cordillera Occidental,on the Eastern side of the Cauca river. The regions 8,335 local inhabitants provide an excellent source of labor. The infrastructure is also excellent with ample power and water available for mine development. The climate is predominantly dry tropical forest and premontane humid forest.
The andesite-dacite intrusive host rock which is predominate in the Marmato mountain district continues to the north of the Marmato mountain and similar mineralization has been identified by the company on the Caramanta concessions.
Geology and Previous Exploration
Throughout the region, numerous local artisan miners earn their living by producing gold every day on small and inefficient placer mining and underground mining operation.
Exploration in the area was undertaken underground by Phelps Dodge in the 1980`s who developed a small underground resource which was subsequently developed by Mineros de Antioquia and is now producing about 18,000 ounces of gold per year.
In the mid 1990`s two additional mining companies, Gran Colombia Resources and Conquistador Mines conducted extensive exploration programs and spent more than US$9 million seeking a large gold/silver target which would be amenable to bulk mining.
In 1996 Conquistador Mines Ltd., developed a channel sampling program and conducted regional stream geochemical analysis of soils and outcrops in the area of Orofino creek. In general three systems of fractured gold mineralization appear to be dominant based on the following previously reported results:
1) 18.42 m with 4.11g Au/ton
2) 4.49 m with 7.67g Au/ton, and
3) 5.24 m with.37g Au/ton
No follow-up drilling or exploration was undertaken on these zones as the company abandoned the projects in the mid 1990`s due to slumping gold prices and worsening civil conditions in Colombia.
In addition to the identified zones of gold mineralization above, at the eastern edge of concession 6329 near Bermejal creek two additional zones were identifed. Sample results identified similar gold mineralization of 12 metres grading 2.7g Au/t and 12 metres grading 2.5 gAu/t.
Veins and veinlets have their origin in the filling of fractures by the contribution of hydrothermal magmatic fluids related to the last phase of sub-volcanic intrusions. Hydrothermal breccias are found in collapse zones or fault confluences. Mineralization is composed of pyrite, chalcopyrite and sphalerite, as well as galena, molybdenite and secondary minerals such as chalcocite, covellite, azurite, malachite and iron oxides.
Three types of mineralization appear to exist on the Caramanta concession:
Type 1: Vein and veinlet zones with high values of silver and with potential to recover base metals as copper and zinc.
Type 2: Mineralized zones lodged in amphibolite and biotitic schists that contain gold.
Type 3: Mineralized hydrothermal breccia zones that could be hosts for large gold and silver deposits.
Conclusions
The Caramanta concessions host gold, silver, lead and zinc mineralization which is found within metamorphic, igneous and sedimentary rocks within a sequence of host rocks that are very similar to those found at Marmato mountain. It appears as if there is the potential for the discovery of significant gold and silver mineralization, similar to that found at Marmato within similar dacitic porphyry host rocks.
Colombia Goldfields has intiated an extensive three year US$3 million exploration and development program consisting of detailed mapping, geochemical stream sampling, rock sampling and diamond drilling. "

Cambridge Mineral Resources plc
Colombian Projects
CMR to acquire three projects in Colombia
Projects include two existing gold mines in the world-class Frontino Gold Belt
High quality copper-gold exploration target secured in the western Cordillera
Mine re-development and underground exploration to commence shortly
Cambridge Mineral Resources plc (“CMR” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce the agreement of options to acquire interests in three projects in Colombia. These acquisitions comprise two operating mines in the world-class Frontino Gold Belt and extensive exploration acreage in the western Cordillera.
Colombia has produced in excess of 125 million ounces of gold, making it South America’s largest recorded gold producer. Despite this, the country has suffered from little investment in the gold mining industry over the past thirty years and remains largely unexplored. In 2003 the country produced 1.49 million ounces of gold, predominantly from numerous artisanal mines which can produce up to 200 tpd but are typically around 5-10 tpd operations.
CMR’s strategy in South America is to acquire and develop gold production opportunities. These projects represent a key stage in the delivery of that strategy and also offer significant further upside potential.
The principal hard rock gold producers in Colombia lie in the Frontino Gold Belt, located to the north-east of the regional city of Medellin in Antioquia Department, within and adjacent to the Jurassic-aged Segovia quartz-monzonite and granodiorite batholith.
At the Frontino Gold Mines in Segovia, veins have been mined since the 1850s and followed down dip to a depth of 800 metres below surface and have produced in excess of 5 million ounces of gold. Currently Frontino Mines are producing around 600tpd at 10-12 g/t gold from two mines – El Silencio and Providencia.
CMR believes that several of these small mines have identical characteristics to the major Frontino veins and offer substantial opportunities to become significant gold producers. With this in mind CMR has examined several vein systems and has completed option agreements on two deposits: El Cinco and Quintana.
El Cinco
El Cinco comprises two small mining operations located 20 km north of Frontino which have exploited two strong veins, averaging 3 metres thick, with an average reported grade of 18 g/t gold.
The option agreement enables CMR to acquire a 90 per cent. interest in the project, including land title and access, in return for various staged payments amounting to US$160,000 over a 30 month period.
In addition CMR has lodged three mining concession applications over 5,500 ha adjacent and contiguous to El Cinco.
Quintana
The Quintana Mine lies 20 km south of Frontino Gold Mines and comprises a small, well run mining operation on a 1.5-2.0 metre thick 30-40 degree dipping vein on the Quintana Licence of some 200 ha. The vein bears striking similarities to the Providencia Vein at Frontino and has reported similar average grades of around 15 g/t gold.
The option agreement enables CMR to acquire a 78 per cent. interest in the project, including land title and access, in return for various staged payments amounting to US$185,000 payable up to the decision on mine development.
CMR intends to refinance the El Cinco and Quintana mines. This is a cost effective form of exploration and also has the advantage of developing the mine’s infrastructure and outlining reserves for future production.
Three Hills
CMR identified another opportunity in the Cauca Department to the south of the regional capital of Cali. This belt, which contains some of the largest copper deposits in the world, is as yet totally unexplored, and includes the Three Hills prospect.
This project lies within the prolifically-mineralized Andean copper-gold porphyry belt which runs from Panama through Colombia, into Equador and down into Peru and Chile.
Under the terms of the option agreement, CMR is able to make various staged payments in order to obtain a 95 per cent. interest in the project.
The Company has opened an office in Colombia and recruited a team of experienced professional staff.
CMR is also in negotiations with various parties including Ingeominas (the Colombian State Geological Survey), Colombian private companies and small miners over a number of further projects.
Managing Director Colin Andrew commented that “The opportunities to develop new mines rapidly and make new mineral discoveries in Colombia are quite outstanding. In addition, both the Central and Department Governments and State Agencies have proved extremely helpful and are supportive of CMR’s entry into the country. We expect other companies to realise the potential in Colombia over the next year or so and we are delighted to have secured these projects in advance of that interest.”

Uribe Hands Colombia`s Mining Resources Over to the Multinationals
The World Bank, the mining multinationals and the government of Alvaro Uribe Vélez have ordered the liquidation the the whole state mining sector, allowing the companies that seriously violate the human rights of the workers and mining communities to end up with Colombia`s mining resources in their power.
Colombian Trade Union organisations ASOINGEOMINAS, SINTRAMINERCOL, SINTRACARBÓN, SINDEINGEOMINAS, SINTRAMIN, FUNTRAENERGÉTICA, FENALTRASE and FENASINTRAP
DENOUNCE
the fact that by order of the World Bank and by means of the new Mining Code drawn up by lawyers from the multinational corporations Cemex, Holcim Group from Switzerland and the Ladriller company from Santafe (owned by the Pastrana Arango family), the Colombian government has decided to restructure the state mining sector, liquidating the national mining company MINERCOL Ltd and `restructuring` INGEOMINAS, in order to create a new entity which will take responsibility for the whole sector (State News Centre, office of the President of the Republic, 31 July 2003).
This will end state control of mineral production, destroying the possibility of evaluating and quantifying our reserves, weakening our systems of science and technology, prevention of and response to disasters, and handing over our principle mineral resources to Anglo American, BHP Billiton, Glencore AG and North American companies. This action was preceded by the demands of the IMF and bilateral military agreements like Plan Colombia to attack communities and workers, producing grave human rights violations in these sectors.
FACTS
1. The World Bank ordered the revision of all Latin American mining legislation and in our country the New Mining Code was created (Law 685 of 2001). It was drafted by lawyers representing multinational companies in Colombia. Article 317 of this Code transferred the authority of MINERCOL Ltd to the Ministry of Mines. Article 358 ordered the restructuring of the company. Afterwards, the government of Uribe Velez decided to liquidate MINERCOL Ltd and to `restructure` INGEOMINAS, to create a new state organ called COLGEOMIN, a simple and reduced body with a budget so small that it cannot even undertake the basic exploration of one part of our territory, let alone maintain an infrastructure sufficient to oversee, safeguard and control mining activity, distribution of mining royalties and assistance to small-scale miners. Neither will it have the capacity to carry out research on the dangers posed by earth tremors, volcanic eruptions or landslides, which is important for the protection of human life and was one of the functions of INGEOMINAS and MINERCOL Ltd.
2. The justification given by the government of Uribe Velez is the `saving` of 50,000 million pesos in order to comply with the demands of the International Monetary Fund. This saving should not be made at the expense of the Colombian people but taken from the enormous profits of the mining multinationals, which over the past 25 years have made inflated financial gains. By contrast, during this period our country has sustained losses such as: more than 10,000 million dollars just in El Cerrejón Zona Norte; 800,000 dollars in an Arbitration Tribunal with Drummond Coal; 6,000 million pesos lost to the Department of La Guajira and to the people of Colombia because of a declaration that Article 5 of Law 619 of 2000 is unconstitutional because ex-minister Carlos Caballero Argaez imposed a royalty tax rate of a mere 10% on privately owned subsoil, including El Cerrejón Zona Centro; more than 400 million dollars through corruption in the mining sector`s state-run bodies` administrations, appointed by successive Presidents; and $40,000 million in unrepaid loans to the mining companies operating in our territory. As can be seen, it is not us, the workers, who are the cause of the companies` bankruptcy but the multinationals which have received so many benefits from this new mining legislation.
3. As well as the legislative changes which are handing our mineral resources over to the multinationals, the Colombian State has pursued a policy of serious human rights violations in order to guarantee foreign investment, against the interests of the nation. In the six mining Departments the murder rate has risen more than 450%, as in the Department of Antioquía during the period 1995 - 1998, in comparison with other Departments with similar demographic conditions. In Colombian mining municipalities between 1995 and 2002 there was an annual average of 828 murders, 142 forced disappearances, 117 cases of wounding, 71 cases of torture, 355 death threats, 150 arbitrary detentions, and 433 massacres which together with extrajudicial executions amount to a total of 6,626 murders in the space of eight years. 68% of forced displacements in the country occur in the areas of greatest mineral production (Río Blanco and Ataco in Tolíma, La Gabarra and neighbouring districts of Norte de Santander, and the municipalities in the south of Bolívar).
In the years 1996 and 2001 when the new mining codes were being drawn up, the areas which were the object of that legislation experienced an enormous increase in human rights violations.
Other Departments with high production levels of oil or gas like Arauca and Putumayo produced similar levels of persecution and assassinations. 42% of the violations of the human rights of trade unionists, in relation to the number of their members, occur in the mining and energy sector, where on average every month one leader of these unions is assassinated. (CUT Human Rights Department.)
REQUESTS
1. The National Government should not continue using the commission of crimes against humanity and war crimes against communities of poor and humble people, just to guarantee foreign mining investment. It should preserve the state institutions of the mining sector. It should not liquidate MINERCOL Ltd. It should strengthen the technical functions of INGEOMINAS. It should nominate administrations for these entities on the basis of merit, which will function transparently. It should respect workers` rights, their organizations and their capacity to assist in the building of better institutions.
2. We call on foreign companies Cemex, Anglo American, BHP Billiton, Glencor AG, Holcim Group and Ladrillera Santafe, direct beneficiaries of huge profits and of the repression of the social sector, to take concrete actions in conjunction with the State to bring to an end these violent acts; we call on them to stop acting against the interests and the sovereignty of the country, or else actions will be taken to damage sales of their products.
3. We ask the international community, represented by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Colombia, the International Labour Organization, the Secretary General of the United Nations, the Interamerican Human Rights Commission, the embassies of the countries where the foreign companies are based, and Non-Governmental Organizations both national and international, to make representations to State bodies so that the policy of perpetrating crimes against humanity and war crimes against members of social organizations and trade unions as a way of guaranteeing the operation of mining and oil companies.
4. The World Bank and the Multilateral Bank should suspend all interference in national legislation and should immediately begin reparation procedures for the impacts which their policies have had on the civilian population.

In the years 1996 and 2001 when the new mining codes were being drawn up, the areas which were the object of that legislation experienced an enormous increase in human rights violations.

Man will weitere Akquisitionen in diesem Bereich vornehmen.

Man will weitere Akquisitionen in diesem Bereich vornehmen.
also kräftig nachlegen....
Kolumbien ist heute der "Place to be" , alle Majors strömen in das Land auf der Suche nach Megagoldfeldern.
Hierfuer ist Colombia Goldfields das perfekte Investment!
