Hallo!!

RECORD FIRST HALF PROFIT
Highlights
Exceptional first half profit, demonstrating the strength of the
UXC business model.
} When compared to the previous corresponding period.
The Board has declared an increase in the interim dividend of
0.25 cents per share in recognition of continuing and expected
further growth in earnings and earnings per share.
UXC is driving a collaborative sales culture across the
organisation and these efforts are being rewarded with sound
sales growth.
Solid earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, amortisation
and corporate costs (EBITDAC) driven by strong organic growth
from the Business Solutions Group.
Business Solutions Group has performed well in the robust
market existing in the Information, Communications and
Technology sector, achieving 28% EBITDAC growth on a 25%
increase in revenue.
The net debt to equity ratio has decreased in the half (down from
17% at 30 June 2005), strengthening the balance sheet and
providing significant scope for further expansion.
UXC has achieved success in winning large, high-profile
contracts with business and government, both individually and by
the teaming of two or more Business Units.
The acquisition of SAP consultancy Oxygen Business Solutions
was announced during the period and completed in January,
giving UXC a strong foundation to grow a substantial business in
one of the largest technology markets existing in Australasia and
globally. This is highly complementary to our existing marketleading
positions in the Oracle/Peoplesoft and Microsoft Business
Solutions technology stacks. Oxygen contributed no earnings to
the first half.
Including Oxygen, UXC employs over 1600 staff across its three
divisions. This gives us scale as a platform for further growth.

MARKET ANNOUNCEMENT
UXC Strengthens its Defence Security Position
UXC Limited (UXC) has completed the purchase of all the shares of BCT Group Pty Ltd
(BCT), a Canberra based IT Services organisation specialising in the provision of security
cleared IT services staff and solutions to Federal Government Defence and Security
Agencies.
BCT, which was established in 1997, is a leading Australian provider of specialist
solutions within the Enterprise Search & Categorization and Customer Data Integration
(CDI) sectors. The software solutions provided and supported by BCT are globally
recognised and widely used in organisations such as the US Government, UK Home
Office and Canadian Health. BCT is building a strong capability in CDI and Information
Management which is both relevant and valuable to Federal Government, Defence, and
National Security Agencies in Australia.
UXC Executive Chairman, Geoff Lord said:
“BCT will merge with existing business unit CNS/ITAC, part of the Business Solutions
Group of UXC. CNS/ITAC has a well regarded Defence and Security offering, and
together with BCT the combined business unit will have some 30 defence, information
management and security specialists. This provides a strong market presence in Canberra
with a core focus on the delivery of defence and security professional services to Federal
Government.”
BCT’s former owners, George Katavic and Joseph Barbatano, will continue with the
combined business in senior management roles. BCT’s professional staff will also
continue.
The initial consideration is based on a multiple of current earnings and will be payable in
a combination of cash and shares. In addition, a proportion of the consideration will be
deferred, and UXC will pay further consideration contingent upon growth in earnings
over a benchmark for the 2007 and 2008 financial years. The transaction will be

The financial highlights of the period have been set out on the overleaf. In recognition of our
continuing and expected further growth in earnings and earnings per share, the Directors have
declared a final dividend of 4 cents per share fully franked, to be paid on 21 November 2006 to
shareholders of record on 7 November 2006. This brings the full year payment to 6.50 cents per
share fully franked, an increase of 18% over the prior year.
We are confident that we have the necessary business mix and strategies to continue to deliver strong
long term earnings growth. Within the Business Solutions Group, our mission of creating the premier
independent Australasian business solutions organisation is being achieved through the strategy of
building leading or significant positions in selected growth markets, as shown by our success within
the Microsoft, Oracle and SAP segments. In the Field Solutions Group we are experiencing strong
growth through our focus on environmental services, and are looking to augment this via the
development of an infrastructure services capability targeting the utilities and telecommunications
sectors. Across both divisions, our growth aspirations are supported by a business model that allows
Business Unit management and staff to accelerate the growth of their businesses through access to
the opportunities and resources existing within the company as a whole. This is evidenced by the
sound organic growth achieved in the period. The $5.7 million of EBITDAC (earnings before
interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation and corporate costs) growth delivered for the year was evenly
split between organic and acquisitive sources.
The foundations for further growth have been built through the following strategic acquisitions
completed during the year:
• Oxygen Business Solutions, a leading SAP consultancy. This acquisition provides UXC with a
strong foundation to grow into a substantial Australasian SAP services provider. This move is
highly complementary with the market-leading positions we have achieved in the
Oracle/Peoplesoft and Microsoft Business Solutions technology stacks. Oxygen contributed
earnings to only the last five months of the year.
• BCT Group Pty Ltd, a Canberra-based IT Services organisation specialising in the provision of
security cleared IT services staff and solutions to Federal Government, Defence and Security
Agencies. The software solutions provided and supported by BCT are both globally recognised
and used, and we are excited about building a strong offering in the high growth homeland
security sector.
• The implementation division of eOne Integrated Business Solutions, a Sydney-based IT Services
organisation specialising in the Microsoft Business Solutions Dynamics GP product suite. This

further extends UXC’s position as the largest Microsoft Business Solutions partner in
Australasia.
• e.fab Solutions Pty Ltd, which has been absorbed by QSP Asia Pacific. e.fab is a Melbournebased
consultancy specialising in the provision of IT services for Enterprise Planning and
Corporate Performance Management software. A strong Cognos partner, e.fab complements our
existing Cognos capabilities, making QSP one of the largest and most important Cognos partners
in Australasia.
In addition, the following acquisition was completed shortly after the year end:
• Infrastructure Constructions Pty Ltd, a horizontal directional drilling and underground
construction specialist with a blue chip client base in utilities and telecommunications. With this
acquisition, and in recognition of the growing importance of our environmental services
offerings, we have re-branded the Utility Services Group as the Field Solutions Group to better
describe its positioning.
A strong performance from our Business Solutions Group reflects the collaborative sales culture that
is gaining momentum across the organisation, leveraging the synergies within the Group and
improving the level of underlying sales growth. We are becoming increasingly effective at winning
a greater share of our customers’ work in areas in which we compete. We are also operating against
the backdrop of a strong IT spending environment, across government and industry sectors.
This has been supplemented by an improving performance from the Field Solutions Group. Having
invested heavily during the first half, ahead of the significant growth potential in our target markets
that is being driven by existing and pending legislative change, we have been rewarded with
significant growth, particularly in our Environmental Services offerings, in the second half.
We have been successful in winning large, high profile contracts in both the Business Solutions and
Field Solutions Groups, with the $6 million Department of Finance and Administration Parliamentary
Entitlements Management System and the $22 million Sydney Water Corporation Residential Water
Efficiency Retro-fit Program being prime examples. Just after year end, we also won the $22.5m
Queensland WaterWise contract. We have won major panel positions with key Federal and State
Departments, including the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA), the
Department of Transport and Regional Services (DOTARS) and Queensland Health, which are
expected to deliver strong business for the Business Solutions Group into 2007. Further success in
this area is expected following the engagement of additional dedicated resources to facilitate multibusiness
tenders.
The realisation of investments in the Intellectual Property Ventures Group in the first half, especially
the Alphawest shares and debentures, provided attractive gains and was a substantial source of cash
flowing back into the business. This has assisted in underpinning our strong balance sheet and
provides further fuel to drive the growth of the Company.
During the year, we have increased our investor relations efforts with a view to improving investor
awareness of the Company and attaining a market rating more appropriate to our growth outlook. As
a result, three analysts have initiated coverage of UXC during the year, and we understand that a
number of others are considering future coverage. Additionally, the representation of institutional
investors on our register has doubled over the past year.
6
The outlook for UXC continues to be strongly positive. We expect our revenue to exceed $350
million in FY07, and additionally we are well advanced on several further acquisitions. Our range of
profit expectations are from good to excellent, depending on the outcome of a number of current
initiatives that we are actively pursuing.
Objectives for further improvements in revenue and earnings in the 2007 financial year continue to
be based around the following:
• Continued strong organic growth in Business Solutions Group;
• Continuing growth in Field Solutions Group driven by our Environmental Services offerings;
• Continuing success in winning larger contracts by combining offerings;
• Contributions from recent acquisitions; and
• Further acquisitions now under investigation and/or envisaged.
The competitive landscape in the sectors in which UXC participates continues to hold opportunities
for the Company to expand its relative position and to dominate the specialised segments in which it
competes. We participate in this environment from a position of strength. We are focused on growth,
we are passionate about performance and we are driven to succeed.

Letter from the Executive Chairman
Dear Fellow Shareholders,
I am pleased to announce another record result for our Company, building on the enviable track
record we have achieved over the past few years. At UXC, we are driven to succeed through our
focus on growth and passion for performance. With some 35% of the company being owned by

Title: Open Briefing®. UXC. Revenue Guidance & New Contracts
Record of interview:
corporatefile.com.au
UXC Limited reported revenue growth of 50 percent to $197 million for the half
year to December 2006. In your interim commentary you expected the strong
growth momentum to carry into the second half of FY07. Would you care to
update the market on the outlook for revenue growth in FY07?
Executive Chairman Geoff Lord
The momentum is continuing. We’re experiencing very strong growth in this
current half. Our FY07 June half revenue will be significantly higher than that of
our December 2006 half.
We’ve progressively revised our revenue growth expectations throughout the year.
From a range of $350 to $380 million for FY07 when we released our results last
year we’re now moving expectations towards a low to mid-$400 million range.
corporatefile.com.au
Are you in a position to discuss FY07 earnings?
Executive Chairman Geoff Lord
We don’t provide the market with earnings guidance. I’ve given an indication of
our turnover growth expectations from which our likely earnings can be deduced.
We’ve had a very good year, and the outlook for next year is very promising.
Looking back, we’ve pretty much been able to double profits every two years, and
looking forward, we plan for our strong performance to continue.

corporatefile.com.au
You have announced six new contract wins over the last two months; four by your
Business Solutions division worth some $60 million with the Departments of
Defence, Trade and Foreign Affairs and Health and Ageing. How have you
achieved these contract wins when you are competing with giant multi-national
applications providers?
Executive Chairman Geoff Lord
As our strategy is to be “the best of breed” in all we do we aren’t competing with
the multi-nationals which try to be all things to all people. We’ve progressively
been winning larger contracts and these major wins reflect the maturing of our
strategy. By identifying the Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
sector trend away from exclusive long term vendor contracts to selective multisourcing
we’ve chosen to become experts in specific areas in which we can build a
market leadership position.
One of these is Oracle’s personnel management system, Peoplesoft. The
Department of Defence implemented Peoplesoft some years ago. When it decided
to outsource full responsibility for supporting and maintaining the system Defence
chose the Australian market leader in the product, which is our company, Red
Rock.
We’re specialists in voice and data, which enabled us to win the Department of
Foreign Affairs and Trade contract to build a global voice and data platform. Two
of our units, Integ and BCT Group, will collaborate on delivering the project. We
won the contract because our offering is a unique combination of the latest secure,
integrated voice and data technology from Integ with BCT’s specialist data
management services.
Being locally based, our decision making is agile and we can deliver on short lead
times. We’re also providing value for money as our costs are highly competitive.
corporatefile.com.au
What does this new high profile Government business mean for your profile in the
ICT industry?
Executive Chairman Geoff Lord
Winning these four big contracts, on top of our two existing Federal Government
contracts, demonstrates that our strategy of targeting new business in Canberra is a
success.
They build our image in Canberra and also right around the Australian market
sending the message that our complete end-to-end solution ICT offerings are the
market leaders. They grow our market share and consolidate our position as the
largest Australian independent business solutions house.
corporatefile.com.au
What is the significance of Business Solutions’ four new Federal Government
contracts for the division’s future revenue growth and operating margins?
3
Executive Chairman Geoff Lord
These wins are financially rewarding as well as prestigious and we’ve won them in
competition with overseas companies. They increase Business Solutions’ revenue
in Canberra to a significant proportion of the division’s total. Our total ICT
revenue is growing at a rate far greater than the industry average.
We’re expecting Business Solutions’ revenue growth to continue to be strong next
year, before any new acquisitions. The division has consistently delivered strong
double digit growth over the last seven years. Looking beyond next year, we see
continued growth in the group. We would like to build Business Solutions
revenues to a $500 million dollar business over the next three years.
These contracts meet one of our key strategic goals of building annuity income by
generating revenue streams over two to ten years. This will underpin our future
revenue growth. We also anticipate that incremental revenues will flow over that
period from additional support and service upgrades.
Margins will improve in year one as we’ve been incurring overheads while
preparing tenders and building the capacity to implement the contracts. Margins
will expand in subsequent years as implementation costs are bedded down.
corporatefile.com.au
Your Field Solutions division recently won a contract with Energy Australia for
the provision of underground distribution works for the Sydney Metropolitan area
and a power pole reinforcement contract with Western Power. What is the
significance of the new energy utilities contracts for the Field Solutions Division?
Executive Chairman Geoff Lord
The $18 million Western Power contract is breaking new ground in Western
Australia. It’s our first move into its network, and winning the first contract
augurs well for the outcome of other contracts for which we will be tendering. It
also confirms our steel reinforcement solution as the national leader in the pole
reinforcement market.
We’re well entrenched as a supplier to Energy Australia and the new contract is an
extension of our existing relationship. The underground distribution work won by
Infrastructure Constructions with Energy Australia has the potential of generating
revenue over a four year period. As one of the largest directional drilling
companies in NSW and Queensland we’re expecting growth in demand for
directional drilling for underground cables reflecting from growing community
sensitivity to environmental issues.
corporatefile.com.au
Field Solutions division reported annual revenue growth of 70 percent in the
December 2006 half year. What is driving demand for your utility services?
Executive Chairman Geoff Lord
Our Field Solutions group is going through a period of quite extraordinary growth
driven by government demand for our environmental services. We now have
contracts in hand of some $180 million. The governments of Queensland and New
4
South Wales have introduced a number of environmental programs of which
we’ve been the beneficiary.
The environmental program work is not contracted, but undertaken under
government water and energy saving programs run by the NSW and Queensland
governments. Again, because we are the market leader in the installation of water
and energy saving appliances’ services we’re picking up a lot of business.
We’re hopeful that other states will sponsor further programs, and expect that
federal government environmental initiatives will come into play in the next
twelve months or so. The demand momentum will gather over 2008 as Victorian
government energy saving initiatives go to tender.

companies in NSW and Queensland we’re expecting growth in demand for
directional drilling for underground cables reflecting from growing community
sensitivity to environmental issues.
corporatefile.com.au

Thank you, Geoff.
