The answer is you could have, but most people are too blind, too squeamish, too quick to panic, too quick to take short-term profits, too near-sighted to envision the true magnitude of the "down the road" potential, too easily excited by "positive posts" while at the same time too easily vexed by the "negative ones" to realize what they have in front of them until it`s gone.

There are no "sure things" but some are closer than others. Many of the most successful inves-tors wear "blinders", earplugs, whatever it takes to remove themselves from the daily grind of pessimism and the weekly/monthly grind of volatile stock swings as they go by their instincts.

Study any of the most successful stocks over the last 3 years and chart what was being said about them "then" and how investors were reacting to those words "then" and compare that to where they are "now."
and you will see some startling contrasts.

A perfect example is AOL. (Yes, we all realize that the Internet sector has been sagging as of late, but regardless of that, an invest-ment in AOL 2-3 years ago would still be worth major bucks today after 6 stock splits.) Look at the history of AOL`s last 3 years and you will be amazed at the moments of pessimism and stock downturns.

Most of the daily followers of AOL that bought in 3 years ago were scared out 1 to 2 years ago. It sounds hard to believe but there were many times that you could have read AOL`s obituary. I know, because before I started investing in the stock market, I said to myself - AOL - wow, it was (is) so easy to make money - everybody should be rich but their not. - Why? - So I went back and read every article in "The Street.Com`s" archives and looked up countless prior news and commentaries on AOL at various news sites to understand and help me gain the "confidence to relax."
The answer is that throughout any company`s path to success there are many moments of anxiety, moments of
doubt, moments requiring great patience and moment`s that invoke.

Murphy`s 3rd Corollary of Stock Investing" which states:

"All stocks experience downturns just long enough to induce you to sell on the morning of the day that it rebounds."

And also."Murphy`s 2nd Postulate of psychological Market Parameters" (commonly referred to as M2PPMP)
which indicates that:

"For every piece of good news that invokes you to buy there will be two pieces of follow-up commentary that will
convince you to sell too soon."

So who made out the best in AOL (even with its currently depressed price?) Certainly not the M2PPMP crowd, but
the investors that wore their blinders. I`m content to put my blinders on. But alas, in the end, every-one has to make their own decision based upon their own lives. But if a few weeks or a few downturns is all that it takes to scare you out of what may potentially be the Stock that will change your life then so be it, fall victim to M2PPMP and be
content in the fact that you can still live vicariously through the rest of us willing to go the distance and reap the rewards!

I know this may be old news to some, but pays to read it again once & awhile.

Wie schon durch hollin/das ich und mir angedeutet, solltet Ihr bitte mit einer nicht zu positiven NASDAQ rechnen. Eine leichtes Plus heute wäre für mich schon ein Erfolg. Eine kleine Vorentscheidung für die nächsten Wochen zeigt sich nach m.M erst im Schlußkurs (Do)und am Anfang nächster Woche. Über Ostern haben sehr viele Anleger Zeit nachzudenken.

Hallo Hartcourtler, habt ihr schon mal den letzten Umsatz in Frankfurt gesehen? Merkwürdige Größenordnung für einen Kleinanleger!!
Übrigens sollten man nicht wieder wie gestern bei einer Kursmanipulation von den MM in USA in Panik alles verkaufen. Der gestrige Tag hat uns mal wieder gezeigt, dass es sinnvoll ist ein echter long zu sein.
Gruß von einem der schon seit 1 Jahr in HRCT investiert ist.

PS. Ist ein tolles Board hier, ist ja auch ne tolle Aktie!!!

Fuel, niemand posted ihn, da die Leute ja das Online-Nondisclosure Forum unterschreiben, oder? Trotzdem bezweifle ich dass nicht
jemand dieses ins Internet stellt. Zumindest haben wir dann uU ueber Ostern Diskussionsstoff.

Interessant, eine ganze Zeitlang stand der Kurs mit bB bei 8.05, dh es wollten zu diesem Kurs noch weitere leute verkaufen,
fanden aber keine Kaeufer - wahrscheinlich mit Blick auf das traditionelle Nachmittagstief vor US-Eroeffnung.

Zumindest kam ein Volumen von ueber 20.000 zustande und der Kurs ist 8.20, was zumindest heisst, dass den Tradern ein groesser
Kauf gegebueber stand oder mehrere Glueckwunsch zum Kauf, denn zu diesen Preisen muss man reisen, soll heissen wir sind
immernoch stark unterbewertet.

(mal ganz pauschal)im prinzip sind m.e. die esat-meldungen sehr postiv zu werten zum einem gibts zusätzliches geld zum anderen ist die position von esat durch die letzten beiden akquisen gestärkt.

allgemeiner hinweis an alle

ab dem 3. juli wird das dezimalsystem an der us-börse eingeführt. die umstellung erfolgt dann schritt für schritt, damit sich die amis an die "ungewöhnliche" rechenweise so gaaaannnnz langsam gewöhnen können. bis zum ende des jahres soll die umstellung dann komplett sein

next few years, until he has accomplished the goals he has set out for

Also to help answer many of the questions asked today, the following is

Mr. Bianco, Dr. Yang, and Mr. Duong all left very lucrative and influential
positions to come to Hartcourt. They did a full examination of Hartcourt,
our opportunities and current business negotiations, examined our contracts
with various companies and the government, reviewed drafts of the Ernst &
Young report, and spoke with our management teams at our facilities in
China. After having done their due diligence they made the informed choice
to come aboard.

Since most of Hartcourt`s acquisitions were finalized at the end of the
year or beginning 2000 their 1999 financial totals could not be included in
Hartcourt`s bottom line, just the expense of purchase. In 2000, Financial
Telecom is anticipated to earn $2 million US in profit, and StreamingAsia`s
revenues are 4 times greater than expected, anticipated in the $4 million
dollar range. In general, the Chinese subsidiaries are profitable
companies, because in China companies either run positive or don`t survive.
Much of the acquisition, integration costs and support costs for SinoBull`s
IPO (management, legal costs, consulting costs, listing costs, travel, etc)
will be recouped during the IPO. Remember, the IPO is still valued at $100
million for the 20% equity stake to be released to the public. At the time
of the IPO, Hartcourt will own 36% of SinoBull, such that $36 million in
cash will be obtained, as well as SinoBull`s share price X 5 X 36% in
equity assets. Hartcourt is still considering a possible Hong Kong GEM IPO
which has the benefit of reaching the market quicker than the NASDAQ, and
at present provides greater valuations for China tech stocks.

With the E&Y report completed and to be released this week to the awaiting
potential underwriters and strategic partners, Hartcourt fully continues to
move forward with its business plan and the IPO of SinoBull and other
subsidiaries. Naturally, when the underwriter is contracted, a press
release will be issued, as well as the formal announcement of the IPO. The
lead underwriter will recommend a time table for all the legal work
necessary for the filing as well as time needed for the "road show" to
present SinoBull to institutional investors and the like. Michael Bianco,
CEO of SinoBull.com, will also be in charge of organizing the process for
the SinoBull IPO, as he is experienced and well versed in the IPO process.

Die Baubeginnne in den USA fielen im März um 11.2% auf 1.604 Millionen Einheiten. Die Konsensusschätzungen hatten bei einem weit höheren Wert von 1.72 Millionen Einheiten gelegen.

klingt sehr wohl positiv, das mit den Baubeginnen.
Weil: Baubeginne sind ein starker Konjunkturindikator.
Grob gesagt: Weniger Baubeginne als erwartet lassen auf weniger Wirtschaftswachstum als erwartet schließen, das wiederum senkt das
Inflationspotential, das wiederum läßt die Gefahr steigender Zinsen (mit ein Auslöser für die beträchtlichen Turbulenzen in letzter Zeit)
zurücktreten.
Folge:
a) Aktien bleiben im Verhältnis zu Bonds attraktiv;
b) stark kreditfinanzierte Unternehmen machen eher Gewinne.

Folge: Eher teigende Kurse.

ich habe mir gedacht, der Urlauber überlegt es sich noch und kommt gar nicht mehr zurück. Nach ein paar Monaten feiern wir dann eine Party und lassen die Luftballons mit Anhang (Bacardi) über die ganze Welt treiben.

18Apr2000 CHINA: Legend logs-on to China Internet market.
HONG KONG, April 18 (Reuters) - China`s top personal computer maker Legend Holdings Ltd said on Tuesday its FM365.com is aimed to become one of the nation`s largest Internet portals by the end of this financial year ending March 31, 2001.
"We expect to see 1.5 million registered subscribers with target daily page view of 8.0 million by the end of this financial year," Legend`s Executive Director Yang Yuanqing said in Beijing in a telconference to Hong Kong reporters.
The company will invest about HK$200 million in 2000/01 in the large-scale Chinese language portal officially launched on Tuesday. The money would be used for the development and operation of the portal.
"This does not include mergers and acquisitions. We will have additional funds for takeovers or investments in other websites to widen and perfect out content and services to meet customer demand," Yang said.
He said FM365.com is a wholly owned subsidiary of Legend and the timing of a spin off would depend on its business development and the condition of the stock market.
"But we will actively seek for international strategic partners, such as content providers," Yang said but decline to give details.
FM356.com, which includes Information Channels such as news, education and entertainment, has signed cooperation deals with nearly 200 content and technical providers under different cooperation models, the company said.
The company would bundle the portal with its personal computers selling to non-corporate users, or about 80 percent of of their products sold to family users, Yang said.
Legend expected to sell 2.5 million units of access devices in 2000/01, including personal computers, set-top boxes and others, of which about 1.0 million would sell to family users.
Legend has recently restructured its businesses and subdivided its subsidiaries into two divisions to meet the company`s development on Internet businesses.
Its Legend Digital China unit headed by Guo Wei, oversees all distribution of foreign brand computer related businesses with most of them would be done through electronic platforms.
The other division Legend Computer System headed by Yang, controls its access devices, that included Legend computers, computer platforms, Internet content and Internet service providing businesses.
"The idea is to release our decision making power down to the units since decision makings used to be centralised under the holding company and had oftenly been delayed," Executive Director Mary Ma said.
The FM365.com subsidiary is under the Legend Computer System.

Chinese bank plans net spin-off

China Merchants Bank, a relatively vibrant mainland Chinese commercial bank, plans to spin off an internet banking subsidiary and list it overseas, one of several recent examples of growing ambitions for e-banking in the world`s most populous nation.

The bank, based in the southern boom town of Shenzhen, is understood to be hoping for a listing in Hong Kong and has contacted potential underwriters in the former British colony.

If approved by the China Securities and Regulatory Commission, the flotation would be the first by any mainland Chinese internet banking entity.

A bank executive sought to play down the proposed listing on Monday and said: "The final plans are not yet complete."

The central bank, the People`s Bank of China (PBOC), said this month that the development of the country`s 10 commercial banks, which had combined assets of Rmb1,460bn ($176bn) at the end of 1999, should be encouraged by permitting them to list shares, issue bonds, acquire counterparts or merge.

Overseas listings are also to be permitted, PBOC officials have said.

China Merchants is recognised as the industry leader in internet banking. According to its own unconfirmed figures, it had served 1,000 internet banking clients by the end of 1999, processing some Rmb80bn in e-banking business.

Other banks, including the "big four" state banks, are trying to catch up. "So far, internet banking as a proportion of our trade volume is not great," said Xie Jiannong, deputy manager of the internet banking division of the Bank of China.

"But I think this will definitely become a huge market," he added.

The Bank of China has begun offering three main types of internet banking.

The first is e-corp, which allows corporate customers to conduct payments online.

Another is e-consumer, a platform for consumers to pay by credit card over the net.

The third, "bank security express", an application that allows settlement between financial institutions to facilitate, for example, online stock trading.

Business volumes in these areas remain limited by a public mistrust of online payments, which persists despite the deployment of internationally recognised security systems, bankers said.

However, such business is expected to climb after the launch in May of internet banking over customers` mobile phones.

Wireless application protocol mobile phones have recently gone on sale in China`s largest cities, laying the technological basis for internet banking over the mobile.

Several Chinese banks are expected to announce simultaneously in May their participation in a mobile phone internet banking platform, which will mean customers can move funds, check their accounts and transfer payments using only their phone handset.

The number of mobile phone users in China is expected to reach more than 70m by the end of 2000, far exceeding the number of personal computer users. Mr Xie said he expected the volume of internet banking over the mobile phone would exceed that done from computers.

zur Zeit bin ich leider nicht mehr in HRCT investiert (war letztes Jahr kräftig drin) Bin dann aber bei ca. 17 und 15 EURO raus.

Ärgere mich jetzt das ich nicht mehr zu 5 EURO nachgekauft habe. !!! SHIT

Aber ich glaube noch nicht am allgemeinen Rebound.

Was meint Ihr werden wir evtl. in der nächsten Woche nochmals Kurse um die 5 € sehen ??

Falls ja, werde ich mich nämlich von einigen Aktien trennen (kräftig im Minus) um mir HRCt wieder zuzulegen.

ich wünsche Dir natürlich, daß Du noch billig an HRCT kommst.
Meine Meinung ist klar, sollte der E&Y-Report positiv aufgenommen werden und die Big Acquisition folgen, erwarte ich feste Kurse zwischen 10-15 E. Das beste Mittel sind Teilkäufe. Hier freut man sich immer, egal, ob es runter oder rauf geht.

verdammt volatil. Immer bullisch bleiben. Die Goldenen zeiten

All issued shares - including any restricted shares - are included in the "shares outstanding" number used to figure market cap, earnings/loss per share, etc. The "float" number has no effect on any of these ratios.

Phan`s shares are not included in the public float figures, but each of his shares represent the same interest in HRCT as anyone else`s common shares, so his shares are "issued" and as "outstanding" as anyone elses.

As long as his shares are restricted, however, he can`t sell them without waiting a certain period of time and then filing with the SEC before actually selling them.

Also, according to the 10-K Dr. Phan gets his shares in lieu of salary "at 50% of the market trading bid price on January 1st of the year of employment." Shareholders do suffer twice as much dilution under this arrangement as they would if HRCT sold its shares on the open market and gave Dr. Phan his salary in cash.

The chief concern for Hartcourt is the confidentiality of the document. Hartcourt wants to protect the content from potential competitors.
Denis Poon is responsible for the security of the report and he will be instructing shareholders of its release. Fred Cohn is not involved in this matter.

habe diese Info aus dem Board von stock-city.

Allerdings wurde diese Nachricht "nur" von einem Board-Mitglied
gepostet: Angeblich hat Alfi seine asiatischen-Top-Werte genannt.
Darunter auch HRCT.

Ich habe damals bereits einige Zweifel angemeldet, da ich mir nicht
vorstellen kann, daß Maydorn solch "kleine" Werte in seiner
Watchlist hat.

Trotz allem; auch ohne Alfi ist HRCT ein Top-Investment. Natürlich
gibt es hiefür keine Garantie. Aber die Positionierung von HRCT und
die bestehende I-Phantasie in China ist schon bemerkenswert.

HONG KONG, Apr 18, 2000 -- (Reuters) China`s top personal computer maker Legend Holdings Ltd. said on Tuesday its FM365.com is aimed to become one of the nation`s largest Internet portals by the end of this financial year ending March 31, 2001.

"We expect to see 1.5 million registered subscribers with target daily page view of 8.0 million by the end of this financial year," Legend`s Executive Director Yang Yuanqing said in Beijing in a teleconference to Hong Kong reporters.

The company will invest about HK$200 million in 2000/01 in the large-scale Chinese language portal officially launched on Tuesday. The money would be used for the development and operation of the portal.

"This does not include mergers and acquisitions. We will have additional funds for takeovers or investments in other web-sites to widen and perfect out content and services to meet customer demand," Yang said.

He said FM365.com is a wholly owned subsidiary of Legend and the timing of a spin off would depend on its business development and the condition of the stock market.

"But we will actively seek for international strategic partners, such as content providers," Yang said but decline to give details.

FM356.com, which includes Information Channels such as news, education and entertainment, has signed cooperation deals with nearly 200 content and technical providers under different cooperation models, the company said.

The company would bundle the portal with its personal computers selling to non-corporate users, or about 80 percent of their products sold to family users, Yang said.

Legend expected to sell 2.5 million units of access devices in 2000/01, including personal computers, set-top boxes and others, of which about 1.0 million would sell to family users.

Legend has recently restructured its businesses and subdivided its subsidiaries into two divisions to meet the company`s development on Internet businesses.

Its Legend Digital China unit headed by Guo Wei, oversees all distribution of foreign brand computer related businesses with most of them would be done through electronic platforms.

The other division Legend Computer System headed by Yang, controls its access devices, that included Legend computers, computer platforms, Internet content and Internet service providing businesses.

"The idea is to release our decision making power down to the units since decision makings used to be centralized under the holding company and had often been delayed," Executive Director Mary Ma said.

The FM365.com subsidiary is under the Legend Computer System.

vielen Dank für Deine Antwort. Das Ihr alle nett seit, dass weiß ich schon lange.
Ich halte meine Shares schon bald ein Jahr und verfolge natürlich seitdem
Eure Postings, die ich absolut Spitze finde.
Das Auf und Ab bei einem OTC-Wert ist nicht zu vermeiden,aber wenn erstmal das Listing
erfolgt, und dann Sinobull ansteht, gehts Richtung Norden. Wir müssen eben ein wenig Geduld
mitbringen, dann klappts auch mit den $$$.
Ich glaube genau wie Ihr, das Hrct die Zukunft ist und wir noch sehr viel Freude

Die Mannschaft wächst !!!

HRCT heute gegen den Trend schön im Plus. Langsam wird die Zeit
auch knapp die Aktie zu shorten. Das Listing steht vor der Tür
und die Auswirkungen des E&Y-Plans (in Bezug auf Partner und
Veröffentlichung) liegen in der Luft. Wer jetzt noch zockt kann
schnell den Anschluß verlieren.

Ich denke alle die mind. 6 Monate dabei sind werden langsam für ihre
Ausdauer und Mut (obwohl wer alle Fakten kennt kann nur im
begrenzten Sinne als mutig bezeichnet werden) belohnt.
(Pioniergeist paßt wohl besser)

Ab dem Listing sind wir einer relativ fairen Bewertung unterworfen
in der HRCT seinen Weg machen wird !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, nun aber ab ins Bett (bin heute morgen an der Stelle aufgewacht
