--OPINION:------------------------------------------------------------------
Last night after the close, InterWAVE (IWAV) reported its third fiscal
quarter earnings (ending March). We initiated coverage of the stock on
February 23, 2000 with a 1-H rating and 12 month price target of $65.
REVENUES: Fiscal third quarter revenues were $8.0 million compared to
our estimate of $7.1 million and versus $4.0 million a year ago. In the
March quarter, 51% of revenues were from equipment OEMs (Nortel and
Alcatel), 22% from wireless operators (e.g., Hutchison), and the
remainder from specialized network sales. Revenues were driven by broad
expansion of community networks and the growth of specialized network
applications and the executiioon of corporate wireless office trials.
PROFITABILITY. Gross margin for the quarter was 38.1% compared to our
estimate of 35.8% and versus 25.1% a year ago. Gross margin was driven
primarily by higher revenues offsetting fixed costs, which benefitted
from higher volumes. SG&A was $3.7 million vs. our estimate of $3.1
million primarily due to one time moving costs associated with the
company`s move to Menlo Park, CA from Redwood City, CA. R&D was $5.0
million vs. our estimate of $4.5 million reflecting investments in
expanding the company`s product line to support Bluetooth and the 802.11
LAN standard as part of its effort to offer greater diversity of
platforms to its customers among other development efforts.
EARNINGS. The company reported a net loss of $0.14 which compares to our
estimate of a net loss of $0.15 and versus a net loss of $0.23 a year ago.
QUARTER`S HIGHLIGHTS: Highlights from the company`s March quarter
include:
--Sales from 9 customers up from 6 customers a year ago.
--Continued progress on the company`s newly announced WAVEIP product
where two trials with Alcatel are on target for second half of calendar
2000.
--Strong inroads in community networks and specialized networks. For
example, interWAVE announced two strategic wins for its GSM product for
use in specialized applications by the US military & China Telecom and
also a community network win in China. Additionally, it is currently
building community networks through its partnership with Hutchison in Sri
Lanka and India.
--Later in the second half of calendar 2000, interWAVE should be able to
report more visible progress in the wireless corporate office market with
several operators having announced tariffs including BT (UK), FT (France)
and Telstra (Australia).

Was man jedenfalls herauslesen kann : Die "Stimmung"

.....

MENLO PARK, Calif., Apr 13, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- interWAVE(R)
Communications International, Ltd. (Nasdaq: IWAV), a pioneer in the wireless
communications industry, today announced that the U.S. Military has agreed to
purchase interWAVE`s wireless network products for use in its Deployable
Cellular Systems (DCS) program. Following a rigorous, extensive testing
procedure, the interWAVE products integrated in a mobile vehicle by Cell-Tel
International were shown to have met the U.S. Military`s high standards for
communications reliability and functionality.
The tests were conducted in Jacksonville, Fla., for Cell-Tel International, the
Florida-based mobile communications company, which purchased interWAVE`s
"Network-in-a-Box" products for use by the U.S. Army`s Chemical Biological Rapid
response team. Under the testing process, members of the U.S. Army`s Soldier and
Biological Chemical Command Team and Booz-Allen & Hamilton testing and
engineering representatives conducted a series of tests on the state-of-the-art
wireless mobile system. The tests were designed to measure whether the system
met the emergency communications requirements for the U.S. Army and if the
system had the ability to interface with other military communications systems.
"Cell-Tel`s implementation of this truly portable network using interWAVE`s
products demonstrates the essence of our technology, where compactness and
simplicity are critical factors for operation," said Dr. Priscilla Lu, chairman
and CEO of interWAVE Communications. "Receiving the U.S. Military`s stamp of
approval shows the reliability and robustness of our technology as well as
compliance to strict industry standards. The approval also underscores the
system`s ability to operate under rugged terrain and in adverse conditions."
Using interWAVE`s latest product line, the company supplied the network,
switching and software infrastructure in one compact box for Cell-Tel to utilize
during the military testing exercise. The interWAVE system was installed in a
customized, all-terrain vehicle and designed for full portability. At a moment`s
notice, the vehicle equipped with the digital wireless network can be
transported to any location where emergency or military communications are
needed.
"Following this award, we expect the U.S. Military to begin procurement of these
systems late this year and anticipate 60 systems or more over the life of the
program," said Elizabeth Wilson, president and CEO of Cell-Tel International.
interWAVE products are in use in specialized military, police and other highly
mobile network applications around the world. The company recently deployed the
first airborne cellular site in the United Kingdom working with the British
military. In addition, interWAVE has installed portable wireless network systems
that support the French NATO forces in Kosovo, the police force in Hong Kong,
and emergency response and disaster relief units in China as well as North
America.

Military in Southern Africa Selects interWAVE Networks For Mobile Critical Communications and Emergency Services $1.2
Million Contract Awarded to interWAVE and Global Communications Solutions
MENLO PARK, Calif., Jun 22, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- interWAVE(R)
Communications International, Ltd. (Nasdaq: IWAV), a pioneer in the wireless
industry, today announced its Network-in-a-Box product has been selected by the
military in southern Africa to be used for rapid deployment of a communications
system in crisis and critical situations. interWAVE and its systems integrator,
Global Communications Solutions, Inc. (GCS), were awarded the contract valued at
$1.2 million.
Through its innovative product, interWAVE will provide the military with a
mobile wireless network that can be deployed in a matter of minutes. interWAVE`s
Network in a Box will create the wireless network that will be integrated into
the multimedia communication system solution supplied by GCS called
SYSTEMEXPEDITION. The SYSTEMEXPEDITION, which offers a full range of multimedia
communications capabilities, will be used for emergency response, disaster
preparedness, peace missions and humanitarian assistance.
"Our customer has a unique requirement of integrating both the Global System for
Mobile (GSM) Cellular system and other military communications systems in a
small shelter that has to be deployed on a Land Rover Defender vehicle," said
Frank York, president of GCS. "interWAVE`s Network in a Box (NIB) met our
systems requirements because it is highly scalable, flexible, robust and
compact. The NIB allows us to deploy state-of-the-art technology in the smallest
enclosure of its kind in the world and at the same time provide our customer
with a rapidly deployable turnkey system solution. Without the NIB from
interWAVE, this would not have been possible; we are very proud of our
partnership with interWAVE."
Initial installations of the two systems are scheduled for completion by the end
of the third quarter 2000. This military customer, working with interWAVE and
GCS, plans to deploy several additional shelters throughout the region. Also, as
a result of this success, the whole region of southern Africa, where basic
communications infrastructure is significantly lacking, has opened up for this
kind of a wireless technology for all types of applications.
"A military application, such as this installation in a tough region of southern
Africa, demands proven and reliable communications technology," said Dr.
Priscilla Lu, chairman and chief executive officer of interWAVE. "As an
experienced partner, system integrator GCS brings interWAVE the market access
and specialized services required to implement this type of communications
solution. In addition, interWAVE`s products -- which have received the stamp of
approval from the U.S. military -- are ideally suited for such critical and
rigorous uses."

JUL 15, 2000, M2 Communications - Tralee, Ireland -- interWAVE Communications
International, Ltd. (Nasdaq: IWAV), a pioneer in the wireless industry, today
announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100 percent of
the outstanding shares of Microcellular Systems, Ltd., an Irish corporation with
operations in Tralee, Ireland; Bracknell, England; Beijing, China and San Diego.
The Microcellular Systems acquisition comes on the heels of interWAVE`s recent
purchase of assets from Hong Kong-based 3C Limited and underscores the company`s
commitment to developing applications for the corporate wireless market.
The acquisition, which is expected to close in the next 30 days, will be
accounted for as a purchase. interWAVE will pay $5 million in cash and issue
555,556 shares of restricted unregistered common stock in exchange for all of
the outstanding shares of Microcellular Systems. interWAVE has agreed that up to
an additional $2.5 million incentive will be paid upon Microcellular`s
achievement of minimum thresholds of fiscal 2001 revenue.
Once completed, this acquisition will enhance interWAVE`s strategic position to
capitalize upon emerging opportunities in wireless office and the wireless
Internet. Through the acquisition, interWAVE is boosting its global team with
expertise in systems engineering and network planning for deploying corporate
wireless networks, enabling interWAVE to pursue these applications directly.
Microcellular Systems was formed in July 1999 as a spin-off of ADC
Telecommunications` wireless business unit. Having had significant success
directly and by supporting interWAVE`s wireless office network deployments in
Europe, Microcellular Systems` team is well versed with interWAVE`s product line
and has expertise in network planning, radio frequency technologies and wireless
network applications software.
All of the 40 Microcellular employees will join interWAVE as part of this
transaction. Microcellular`s customer base includes cellular operators deploying
corporate wireless office networks in Greece, South Africa, and the United
Kingdom, and community networks in Somalia and Tajikistan.
Microcellular also sells its Network on Wheels ("NOW") in China and the United
Kingdom for emergency services. Through March 31, 2000, Microcellular`s first
nine months of operation generated approximately $4 million in net revenues and
breakeven operating income.
Acquisition Includes Wireless Enterprise Solutions Developer Through the
acquisition of Microcellular, interWAVE also gains a 20 percent equity interest
in Propylon, Ltd., an Irish corporation focused on delivering Wireless
Application Protocol (WAP) software for the enterprise environment. Propylon has
recently developed a comprehensive infrastructure platform enabling direct
wireless access to corporate Intranets.
Leveraging the expertise in Propylon, interWAVE will be able to deliver
platforms supporting XML and WAP-based platforms for the emerging wireless data
market. In addition, this wireless data expertise expedites interWAVE`s strategy
to provide intelligent wireless networks for corporate users and broadens the
range of data and voice application capabilities and network access options.
"The team at Microcellular Systems has been a strong supporter of our products
in the market since early 1997 when it was a part of ADC," said Dr. Priscilla M.
Lu, chairman and chief executive officer of interWAVE. "Over the last year, the
partnership between our companies has strengthened, and they have been
instrumental in providing direct sales and marketing support for our wireless
office solutions. They have also had good success in community network markets
in emerging countries. With their team, we shall be able to accelerate our
market expansion in the wireless corporate network market and capture the
opportunities at hand."
According to Michael Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of Microcellular
Systems, "interWAVE`s unique and differentiated wireless network products have
always been the core of our successful wireless applications, particularly
towards the enterprise marketplace. Their constant innovation and enhancement of
this wireless platform now allows our combined team the opportunity to take the
lead roll in this explosive market." The transaction has been approved by both
companies` boards of directors, and Microcellular`s shareholders. Closing is
subject to completing regulatory matters within Irish law and the issuance of
the interWAVE unregistered shares.

interWAVE Delivers Wireless Network Technology in Innovative AircraftApplication Products Enable Individuals to Use Personal Handsets to Make Callsin Airplane
Wed Jul 26 13:59:00 EDT 2000
MENLO PARK, Calif., Jul 26, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- interWAVE(R)
Communications International, Ltd. (Nasdaq: IWAV), a pioneer in wireless
networking, today announced that its compact wireless network products will be
used by BAE SYSTEMS in a passenger telecommunications solution that allows
individuals to make cellular calls using their personal handsets on a commercial
aircraft.
Known as CabinCall(TM), the system is the latest cabin service product from BAE
SYSTEMS that brings leading wireless telecommunications technologies to
passengers, airline operators, airframe manufacturers and communications service
providers of modern aircraft. BAE SYSTEMS is launching the first CabinCall
system at the Farnborough Air Show being held this week in England.
interWAVE`s stand-alone network products, which utilize the Global Standard for
Mobile communications (GSM), will be placed in aircrafts along with other
communications infrastructure to provide the link to the ground via satellite or
terrestrial networks. To ensure CabinCall(TM) met the aeronautic safety and
operational standards, BAE SYSTEMS worked with interWAVE and other key
contributing companies to successfully test and certify the system.
"CabinCall(TM) represents the greatest advance in passenger services for more
than 20 years and will provide a significant service discriminator to the
world`s leading airlines," said Doug Baxter, director, BAE SYSTEMS.
According to Priscilla Lu, Ph.D., chairman and chief executive officer of
interWAVE, "interWAVE has considerable expertise in the corporate network arena,
and this aircraft application is simply an extension of our proven track record
of establishing wireless networks through our compact, scalable technology. We
are pleased to be working with BAE SYSTEMS and to be a part of this
ground-breaking effort in the airline industry."
BAE SYSTEMS, interWAVE, and Microcellular Systems, Ltd. (which interWAVE
announced on July 5, 2000 that it would acquire) have been jointly working on
the CabinCall(TM) system for several months prior to its launch this week at
Farnborough.
BAE SYSTEMS` CabinCall(TM) product will be available in the autumn of 2001.

interWAVE Awarded Four U.S. Patents Patents Demonstrate Company`s Innovation inDeveloping Wireless Communications Technology
Mon Aug 07 14:20:00 EDT 2000
MENLO PARK, Calif., Aug 7, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- interWAVE(R)
Communications International, Ltd. (Nasdaq: IWAV), a pioneer in the wireless
industry, today announced it has been awarded four U.S. patents for innovative
wireless technologies designed to increase accessibility to the public network,
enhance systems capabilities, and reduce deployment costs. The new patents bring
interWAVE`s total number of patents to 18 and help secure the company`s position
as a technology leader in wireless communications.
Among the recently patented technologies is interWAVE`s cellular network
architecture that seamlessly extends the public cellular network into a
corporate private branch exchange (PBX) network, allowing corporate customers to
integrate services between the public cellular network and the enterprise voice
and data network. This capability increases the corporate network`s capacity
using the wireless network in a cost-efficient manner, when standard wireline
connections are unavailable or cost prohibitive. This patent is applicable
across both voice and data traffic, and provides expanded capacity for corporate
customers in a transparent and modular way.
interWAVE has also been granted a patent for its overlay cellular network system
that offers wireless operators local switching capabilities at the corporate
premise for users that are within the corporate campus. This network is designed
to dynamically route calls to and from external networks supporting the
capabilities to offer global roaming across multiple campuses. By containing the
local calls within interWAVE`s cellular corporate network, the operators can
minimize costs incurred due to higher capacity and usage, maintain higher
security and improve customer service.
In corporate and campus environments, the overlay cellular communications
network allows interWAVE`s products to act either as a wireless extension of the
PBX or an extension of the neighboring wireless network on a call-by-call basis.
For community applications, this feature allows most calls to stay within the
community, thus minimizing interconnect fees and signaling to the public
network.
The company was also awarded two U.S. patents for multiple antenna cellular
network technology. Based on intelligent distributed antenna technology, this
system allows for real-time adjustment of the coverage of different cells in the
changing radio environment and reduces the need for detailed surveys and complex
designs. This technology will help the enterprise market reduce deployment costs
for wireless solutions in campuses and buildings and will significantly improve
the quality of mobile service for wireless subscribers.
"interWAVE is continually developing innovative technologies that enable both
corporate and community users to have instant wireless access through its
compact, turn-key wireless network solutions," said Priscilla Lu, Ph.D.,
chairman and chief executive officer of interWAVE and the patent inventor.
"These patents and others like them continue to underscore interWAVE`s
commitment to lead the wireless industry in innovation and to provide cost-
effective and competitive solutions in the growing marketplace."

interWAVE Announces Fourth-Quarter and Full
Fiscal 2000 Results
Business Editors/High-Tech Writers
MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 8, 2000--interWAVE(R)
Communications International, Ltd. (Nasdaq:IWAV), a provider of compact
wireless communications systems, today announced its financial results for
the fourth fiscal quarter and full year ended June 30, 2000.
Total revenues were $9.7 million, up 107.9% from $4.7 million for the same
quarter of fiscal 1999 and up 21.8% from $8.0 million for the third quarter of
fiscal 2000. Fourth-quarter net loss was $5.3 million, or a loss of $0.11 per
weighted average basic and diluted share, compared with a net loss of $8.1
million, or a loss of $1.61 per weighted average basic and diluted share, for the
same quarter a year earlier and with a net loss of $6.6 million, or a loss of
$0.19 per weighted average basic and diluted share, for the preceding quarter.
"We are extremely pleased with revenue growth for the June quarter and our
continued success at expanding our customer base around the world to
augment the market reach of our partners," said Priscilla Lu, Ph.D., chairman
and chief executive officer of interWAVE. "We saw particularly strong interest
in our products in China, where we generated 39% of the quarter`s total
revenues."
Gross margin for the fourth quarter was 42.0%, compared with 14.8% for the
same quarter a year ago and with 38.1% for the preceding quarter. These
gross margin improvements were driven by higher overall volumes to absorb
fixed overhead costs, with continued emphasis on manufacturing cost
efficiencies, and by software upgrades due to enhanced capabilities of recent
releases.
Continued growth in the company`s research and development and sales and
marketing organizations led to higher operating expenses for the fourth
quarter. Excluding amortization of deferred stock compensation, which
increased to $1.9 million from $1.2 million a year ago, operating expenses
were $9.8 million, compared with $5.3 million for the fourth quarter of 1999 and
with $8.7 million for the third quarter of 2000. During the fourth quarter,
interWAVE invested $5.4 million in research and development, compared with
$3.2 million for the year-ago quarter and with $5.0 million for the preceding
quarter.
For the full fiscal year ended June 30, 2000, total revenues were $30.1 million,
up 74.3% from $17.3 million for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1999. Net loss
was $30.5 million, or a loss of $1.33 per share, compared with a net loss of
$24.5 million, or a loss of $4.96 per share, for the prior year. On a pro forma
basis, reflecting the IPO-related conversion and issuance of shares, net loss
for fiscal 2000 was $0.65 per share, compared with a loss of $0.97 per share
for 1999.

Business highlights of the fourth quarter included the following:
-- The acquisitions of both 3C Limited in Hong Kong and
Microcellular Systems, Ltd. in Ireland, with definitive
agreements reached during the quarter and completion achieved
in July. These acquisitions expand the company`s worldwide
headcount from 200 to 266 employees and add facilities in San
Diego, California; Bracknell, England; Tralee, Ireland;
Beijing and Shenzhen, China; and Hong Kong.
-- With the acquisition of Microcellular, a 20% equity interest
in Propylon, Ltd., an Irish developer of wireless application
protocol (WAP) software that enables enterprise clients to
easily access Internet content from mobile devices. interWAVE
also initiated complementary development of wireless Internet
access capabilities with Openstream, Inc., a New Jersey-based
organization with a development center in Bangalore, India.
These two initiatives are expected to accelerate interWAVE`s
entry in the wireless Internet market.
-- Continued success in penetrating emerging markets with
community network solutions for wireless users, as the company
delivered its first products in India, extended its reach to
Africa and broadened its presence in several provinces of
China. interWAVE`s partners in each of these markets have
increased the pace of deployment, making community networks
the largest application for the company`s installed products
today.
-- The adoption of interWAVE`s IP-based solution in the corporate
wireless office market, by British Telecom/CellNet, France
Telecom and Cosmote in Greece. These operators are now
offering services using interWAVE`s solution to their
corporate customers. interWAVE, along with its partners Nortel
Networks and Alcatel, has successfully completed trials of its
wireless network products with a half-dozen other operators
serving the corporate wireless office market.
"interWAVE continues to see success in the market adoption of its product
solutions for uniquely challenging applications, where their simplicity,
modularity, compactness, and scalability provide differentiation and value in an
increasingly diverse marketplace," said Lu.

Profile
MicroStrategy Incorporated provides intelligent e-business software and related services. The
Company`s products enable both proactive and interactive delivery of information from
large-scale databases, providing Global 2000 enterprises a platform for developing solutions.
MicroStrategy services retail, telecommunications, finance, insurance, and healthcare
customers.

Gibt`s mal wieder Neues?
(Internetanbindung per Funkschnittstelle an Laptop, PC`s, Workstation etc.).
Der Markt ist noch nicht so weit.
