Question 1: Hi Golfbcw, I spoke to Alan Chow and Patrick Kwan (principle executives of
StreamingAsia, LogicSpace & SyndicateAsia) in Hong Kong, and they stated
everything continued to be on schedule. They`re waiting for the formal processing of
some paperwork by the HKEx (and I would assume the equivalent HK securities bodies
as in the US). In step with their schedule, they are also preparing for their road show and
presentations. In comparison to others in their sector, StreamingAsia easily stands out,
with their slew of high profile clients (go to StreamingAsia.com), business
partners/strategic alliances, their software technology solutions, their 3 pronged
business strategy (web development arm, streaming media and ecommerce solutions

Question 2: Hi Denche3, yes I think everyone on the trip found it worthwhile, and eye
opening. Hartcourt will be considering the possibility of another trip as well. Although it`s
quite possible the next trip will be organized for a private business group (an executive
member of their group expressed such a desire). We also look forward to possibly
having additional presentations in the US of our companies in Greater China (as
expressed as well) to investor groups in the US. Naturally, these will be as time allows.

Question 3: Hi Bravehart2, yes in China, the Mainland government strictly enforces the
require of licenses for many common business operations people freely do in the US ie.
advertising on the Internet (banners, promotions, etc), various content themes (financial,
political, sports, entertainment, educational, etc) separate for Internet and TV purposes
(to my understanding), licenses to operate most all types of businesses, provincially and
then nationally and/or internationally, etc. Essentially, assume you need a license for
anything you do, and you`ll be right more often than not. While this does become
tedious, we have spent the last 1.5 years in applying for/acquiring the licenses we
forsee we`ll need. We see this as an advantage to any new foreign company entering
China for the 1st time, who doesn`t know anything about which licenses they need or
where to go for them. Also, trying to operate without a license is risky business, it may
not be just a slap on the wrist, but full closure of business. So yes, for every business we
operation (and our subsidiaries operate) in China, we have all the appropriate licensing,
and we`re still working to acquire more. For example, we`re very interested in obtain the
appropriate licensing for being able to broker stock transations, national/international
banking, various forms of insurance, and others.

Hallo,

Question 4: Hi Marshell, while I did not actively inquire as to the professions of people
on the trip, we talked about it, if it came up in conversation. Some had membership in
investment groups, others high level positions in those groups. By the types of questions
and conversation at company presentations, you could see some also had strong
technical backgrounds in stock market operations, etc. One person was an assistant
dean with the business college at a major US University (dealt with many of the MBA
students at that University). While I would estimate that many of the people on the tour
were investors, I don`t think all were investors, based on the questions asked. But at the
end of the trip, at breakfast of the morning we were leaving, there was great interest
expressed in the methods in establishing a private placement for a group investment.
Although arranging such a placement is unusual, and unfamilar to Hartcourt in terms of
all the legalities, we will look into the possibilities and requirements. At the Beijing
conference, the whole back 2 rows (from my estimation) were members of the Beijing
and China press, reporters and camera crews included. In Hong Kong, Dr. Phan was
interviewed by a reporter from the Hong Kong Economic Times, a bit unexpected since
the presentation was aimed at the Due Diligence Tour.

Question 5: Hi Docdjg, actually, I believe Jiang Tai (CEO of SinoBull Information,
formerly Shanghai Guo Mao) passed around a copy of the book. The book, to my
understanding, has historical market research and data encapsulated. From my
understanding, it was received quite well. Actually, a bit of news inconjunction with
Question 3, is that Hartcourt has tried to invest in the best companies and opportunities
made available to us. An example of this is Guo Mao and Wind Info, both the leaders
(#1) in their business sectors, both with major clientel in the top 10 and top 20 of the
securities and banking industries. Guo Mao is so respected (both receiving Shanghai`s
top awards for their business models and success), that only Guo Mao (and I believe
Reuters which printed next to their) is allowed to publish financial charts/data in the
Financial section of the People`s Daily (China`s top publication) without government
review. In China, this is among the top accolades one could receive that illustrates the
trust the government has in your informational content.

Ich meine gelesen zu haben das IBM gerade in China eine "Offensive" betreibt und zur stärkung der Vertriebskraft Schulungskapazitäten zur Verfügung stellt für Mitarbeiter kleinerer Unternehmen damit die IBM produkte besser verkauft werden können.

Charttechnik kann man auf einen solchen Wert sicherlich nicht anwenden.

Wenn ja würde allerdings bei einem Überschreiten der 2 Euro
Marke am morgigen Tage durchaus ein Kaufsignal entstehen.

Williams, Stochastik, das Volumen und der Kurzfristige Trend sprechen zudem für Hartcourt.

Der MACD ist dagegen Negativ und der RSI kommt langsam in den überverkauften Bereich. Zudem sind wir in den letzten Tagen einfach zu stark gelaufen.
ABER: Bei so einem Wert weiss man nie( ich erinnere nur an den fulminanten Anstieg letztes JAhr) und wie gesagt die 2Euro fallen morgen; die Frage ist :

ihr habt sicher auch alle E-Mails von Hartcourt bekommen. Ich bekomme in zwischen das Gefühl, das jetzt richtig Feuer in die Angelegenheit kommt.
Wäre natürlich toll. Ich gehe mal davon aus das, wenn die geplannten Aktivitäten so laufen wie angedacht eine nette Rally ansteht ( ich hoffe mal, mit einer natürlichen Volatilität, auf einen Kurs von 5-7 Euro in den nächsten 3 Monaten) sofern wir hier nicht zu viel von Zockern den Kurs verhagelt bekommen.

wer letztes Jahr bei deutlich schlechteren Vorzeichen bereits dabei war, wird wissen, dass es bei diesem Wert nach oben kaum ein Halten gibt...! Da es derzeit zu einer regelrechten Kauforgie gekommen ist und noch viele shorts aus dem 3-5 Dollar Bereich ungecovert sein dürften, ist ein weiteres rasantes Ansteigen höchst wahrscheinlich. Letztes Jahr hatten wir kein unmittelbar bevorstehendes IPO (Meldung müsste dieser Tage ja kommen...!!!), keine zig Verträge mit namhaften Unternehmen, etc... zudem treffen sich ab 10.01. die WTO-Verhandlungsführer in Genf, um , wie es in allen Tageszeitungen (FAZ etc) heisst, den WTO-Beitritt Chinas diesmal endgültig zu beschliessen. Phan hat ein phänomenal gutes Timing! Stellt Euch den Kurseffekt vor, wenn wir nun in den kommenden Tagen ein paar weitere gute news bekommen zur Kursstützung und dann der SA-IPO-Knaller mitten in positive WTO-Meldungen kommt. Dann dürften alte Höchststände (nach Split 10$) schnell wieder erreicht werden, da HRCT deutlich reifer geworden ist. Ich jedenfalls war früher ein energischer !!! Kritiker (kann jeder im Archiv nachlesen) und bin mittlerweile völlig beeindruckt von der Beständigkeit im roll-out des eigenen business-plans von Hartcourt. Respekt! Wer jetzt aussteigt, wird sich wie letzten Donnerstag/Freitag in dan Hintern beissen, wenn er bei den Hammernews dann nicht an Bord ist. Kaufen heisst jetzt die Devise.... Kurse mit einer 2 vor dem Komma sind perfekt... Zudem wurde ja auch in Europa eine Medienoffensive für diesen (!) Monat angekündigt. Ich möchte es nicht verpassen, wenn von HRCT plötzlich irgendwo in den Medien etwas positives zu hören ist... Mensch Leute, es geht wieder nach OBEN!!!

Hallo Hartcourtler,

bin genauso wie die meisten hier im Board angenehm überrascht, wie schnell es wieder nach oben gehen kann. Ich gehöre zu denjenigen, die erst nach der letzten Hype auf Hartcourt gestossen sind. Habe meinen ersten Kauf bei etwa 13 € (ungesplittet) getätigt. Überhaupt bin ich ja eine Bildgeschädigte Anlegerin, die voll den ganzen Fall miterlebt hat. Hatte zwischenzeitlich sogar 80 % minus. Bin zwar immer noch bei 50%, aber jetzt glaube ich daran, in eingen Monaten wieder schwarze Zahlen zu schreiben. Und Hartcourt wird dabei die erste Geige spielen. Als Anfängerin habe ich zwar viel Lehrgeld bezahlt, habe dadurch aber schneller gelernt, als wenn es nur kontinuirlich nach oben gegangen wäre. Ich denke, daß ich nicht die einzige bin, die diese Erfahrung gemacht hat.
Bald werde ich auch den Mut haben, mal einen Daytrade zu machen. Bis jetzt hatte ich immer stur an meinen Werten festgehalten, aber man muß flexibel sein, und seinen Einsatz bei Bedarf auch mal schnell umschichten zu können. Mein jetziges Problem ist folgendes:
In Hartcourt werde ich die nächste Zeit nichts mehr investieren, werde Sie einfach ein paar Jahre mit den bevorstehenden 4 Ipo`s laufen lassen. Aber wie öffne ich meinen Blick für neue Werte. Vorallem wenn man auf der Suche nach neuen Start-Ups ist. Ohne den Tip von PeSie im Frühjahr, wäre ich nie auf Hartcourt gestossen. Aber solch ein Tip kann auch schnell in die Hose gehen, wenn der Tppgeber einen nur Abzocken wollte.
Also meine Frage: Wie geht Ihr vor, wenn Ihr auf der Suche nach neuen Investitionen seid.
Wäre schön, wenn AstonMartin auch dazu schreiben würde.

Brokerage lowers forecasts for Netease.com, Sohu.com

HONG KONG (CBS.MW) - China`s leading Internet portals, whose stock prices are already trading at record lows on the Nasdaq, face even tougher times ahead over a projected slump in the mainland advertising market, Merrill Lynch said in a research report issued Tuesday.
The report is the latest and bleakest assessment of China`s online advertising market and its implications for its four biggest portals, which depend on advertising for the bulk of their revenue as e-commerce has failed to take off in the country.

"After speaking to various industry people, we have decided to bring down our forecast for online advertising market in China in 2001 from $120 million to approximately $80 million," wrote Matei Mihalca, head of Merrill Lynch`s Asia Pacific Internet Research unit in Hong Kong.

"We suggest investors to be cautious when investing in listed Chinese Internet companies in the next two quarters as we do not see any catalyst for out-performance except maybe potential M&A activities," he added.



Reflecting the expected slump, Merrill lowered its rating for Netease.com (NTES: news, msgs) to accumulate from buy. It also downgraded its rating for Sohu.com (SOHU: news, msgs) to neutral from neutral/accumulate.

However, it said that it left its ratings unchanged for Sina.com (SINA: news, msgs) and Chinadotcom (CHINA: news, msgs) at accumulate/buy.

The investment bank also cut its revenue forecasts in 2001 and 2002 for Netease by 25 percent and for Sina by about 15 percent, because of their reliance on the online advertising market. It lowered its revenue forecast for Chinadotcom by just 5 percent, because the firm`s Web solutions unit accounts for over half of its revenue.

In December, Merrill slashed the revenue forecast for Sohu by 30 to 40 percent.

"Uncharted Territory"

Merrill concluded that the Asian advertising market has deteriorated further and faster than it had predicted, after talking to online media industry people in recent weeks.

"While we anticipated the negative impact of a shrinking dot-com advertising market, we did not fully expect the slowdown by traditional businesses moving the advertising dollar online," said the report.

Until recently, the investment bank had used the U.S. advertising market to estimate the rate of growth in China - an approach that it admitted was inaccurate, given that the dot-com bubble distorted growth in the U.S. market over the past several years.

Despite its latest forecast, Merrill cautioned that it would likely revise its forecasts later on. "We are really entering an uncharted territory," it added.

Share prices likely to fall further

Given such distant and uncertain profit horizons facing the Internet industry, share prices of China`s four biggest portals will not soon recover as investors don`t have the patience for companies without earnings, Merrill warned.

"With the possible exception of Chinadotcom, investors` interests in the other China related Internet companies may not return well into 2002 when investors may look a year ahead and see the possibility of profitability.

Again, this does not augur well for the share price performance of Netease, Sina and Sohu," it concluded.

ich bin auch neuling in sachen aktien und habe dummerweise nach der euphorie mit infineon (ich habe 40 stück bekommen) durch eigene recherchen im internet einige werte selbstständig ausgepickt und gekauft. kurzfristig war es auch ein erfolg. ich hätte gute gewinne mitnehmen können. aber leider bin ich auch wie du nicht aktiv und habe einfach die werte behalten.... nun bedauere ich es zum teil. die einizige ausnahme ist hartcourt. diese aktie hat mir ein freund empfohlen und habe die bei 9, dann bei 7 jweils 100 stück vor dem splitt gekauft. zum glück hat mich der mut gefasst und ich habe bei 1,02 euro nach dem splitt 1000 stück nachgekauft. und jetzt stehe ich mit dem gewinn da und bin auch ratlos, was ich machen soll ? verkaufen und warten ....

China firms to form Net alliance

BEIJING: Several unidentified companies agreed to form the China C-Net strategic alliance--China`s "very own information superhighway``--at a signing ceremony last Saturday.
According to the official Xinhua News Agency, the alliance is to be a second-generation Internet-like network designed for the Chinese government and industry.

The government has estimated that the number of web users has risen to about 20 million from 9 million during the last year.

"In the new century, the Chinese people will build our very own information superhighway,`` the Xinhua report said. "The current one by itself has too many faults and is incapable of satisfying the needs of the Chinese government and companies as they enter the digital age.``

The new system will rely upon technology being developed abroad for a planned international upgrade of the Internet, plus technology developed exclusively for the China market.--AFX

Wer könnte hinter dieser Allianz stecken? Vielleicht sogar Hartcourt? Ich denke mal, daß diese Meldung auch was mit PCCW zu tun, weil die ja schon einen eigenen ChinaBrowser entwickeln.
IBM hat auch bekanntgegeben, daß sie ein Übersetzungsprogramm entwickelt haben, um chinesische WEB-Sites direkt zu übersetzen. Für 10 $ soll diese Programm im März in den Handel kommen. Ich glaube, daß sich in China in diese Richtung wirklich etwas tut. Allerdings darf das alte www nicht ausgeschlossen werden, denn das wäre eine Katastrophe für die Öffnung Chinas.

You don`t think a person would spend hours and hours sitting here bashing a stock they don`t own, if they don`t get paid for it, do you??
A friend of mine, who is a basher for hire by a market maker, described the way bashers got paid as follows:
Bashers were paid $20 per hour, and must post a minimum of 30 postings in various boards;
At the end of the day, the bashers were paid another commission equal to 5 percent of the profit of the market maker or the short seller.
It is pretty good living, getting $160 per day for base salary, plus a substantial amount of profit sharing, someday could be more than $5,000. And they have no risk.
What a great job > So don`t be surprised if the same bashers appeared with different alias every day. Like cockroaches, you can never eliminate them all. But we must keep watch. Because they are eating our lunch (if you are a HRCT shareholder) and they spread disease..

The benchmark Heng Sang Index, which fluctuated narrowly during the morning session, was slightly lower at midday. Bank stocks led the fall. While larger property firms recovered from yesterday`s declines, smaller ones were clouded by concerns of possible share placements after Sino Land Co. (0083) said yesterday it is raising as much as HK$1.17 billion in a share sale.

At midday, the benchmark Hang Seng Index was down 72.33 points, or 0.47 percent, at 15,428.26. Turnover was HK$6.1 billion. The Growth Enterprise Market Index, which tracks the performance of technology and related companies on Hong Kong`s second board, rose 0.70 points, or 0.32 percent, to 305.86 on turnover of HK$51.4 million.

"Rate-sensitive bank and property stocks consolidated on recent gains, with capital flowing to lagging stocks such as red-chips and H shares," said Ben Kwong, associate director at KGI Securities (H.K.) Ltd. He expects the market will remain soft in the short term.

The blue-chip index will fluctuate between 15,300 and 15,500 in the near future, he reckons.

Sino Land plunged 10 percent to HK$4.275, which is below its share placement price of HK$4.35. The stock was most heavily traded by value, with turnover at HK$828.9 million.

Sino Land said its parent Tsim Sha Tsui Property (0247) sold 180 million existing shares in Sino at HK$4.35 each to institutional investors, and then used the money to subscribe for the same number of new shares in the HSI constituent. If demand from investors warrants, the company will sell an additional 90 million shares. TST Property was untraded at HK$4.90.

Speculation about a share placement also depressed debt-heavy New World Development Co. (0017). The stock dropped 4.3 percent to HK$11.05 after losing 5 percent yesterday.

Other developers rose as investors sought bargains. Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd. (0001), Hong Kong`s largest developer by market value, rose 0.97 percent to HK$104. The stock, which rose about 6 percent since the Federal Reserve announced a 50 basis point interest rates cut, has been lagging behind others in the recent rally.

The company said it secured a HK$3.8 billion 5-year revolving and term loan facility at an interest margin of 41 basis points above the Hong Kong Interbank Offered Rate. The Hong Kong Economic Journal quoted the company as saying it has no plans for another syndicated loan or a share placement this year.

Sun Hung Kai Properties (0016) the second largest developer, added 0.6 percent to HK$80.25 as investors sought bargains after it dropped 3.6 percent yesterday.

Banks retreated on profit taking. HSBC Holdings (0005), Europe`s and Hong Kong`s biggest bank, shed 2.1 percent to HK$116.50. The bank was affected by poor performance of finance stocks in the U.S., a trader said. Its subsidiary Hang Seng Bank (0011) was up 0.5 percent at HK$106. Dao Heng Bank (0223) fell 1.3 percent to HK$46.10, after setting a 52-week high of HK$47.40 yesterday.

Bank of East Asia (0023), the city`s third-largest publicly traded bank by market value, fell 1.4 percent to HK$21.40. Standard & Poor`s recently assigned its triple-`B`-plus long-term and `A-2` short-term counterparty ratings on BEA. The outlook on BEA is stable, the rating agency said.

Telecoms stocks edged higher after overnight gains on Nasdaq. China Mobile (H.K.) Ltd. (0941), China`s largest mobile phone company, was up 0.4 percent at HK$44.90. Rival China Unicom Ltd. (0762), which owns the nation`s No. 2 mobile phone service, added 0.8 percent to HK$11.90.

Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. (0013), Hong Kong`s largest conglomerate, was unchanged at HK$98. Its unit Hutchison Telecommunications (H.K.) Ltd. said it may not be interested in a license to offer third-generation mobile phone services in Hong Kong if the government forces license holders to open their networks to other suppliers, according to the South China Morning Post.

Meantime, the company sold US$2.5 billion bonds convertible into Vodafone shares early this week to fund the development of its third-generation mobile phone business.

Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. (0008), a major Asian communications company, fell 0.5 percent to HK$4.90. Its Internet Protocol backbone venture with Telstra Corp. has agreed to increase the interest margins of a US$1.5 billion syndication loan to draw banks` interest. PCCW had already agreed with its five coordinating arrangers to pay higher interest rates to complete the syndication of another US$4.7 billion refinancing loan amid tepid response from other banks.

Mass Transit Railway Corp. (0066), Hong Kong`s subway operator, gained 2.4 percent to HK$14.85, a record high. The stock has added more than 50 percent to its value since it debuted on Oct. 5. Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. (0388), the city`s sole marketplace for stocks and futures, inched down 0.3 percent at HK$18.40.

Sing Tao Holdings Ltd. (0233) surged 16.7 percent to HK$1.61 after Global China Technology Group Ltd. (1105) said it will buy a 51.4 percent stake in the newspaper publishing company for HK$355.6 million, or HK$1.65 a share, and will make a general offer to buy out Sing Tao`s minority shareholders. Global Technology dropped 6.8 percent to 55 HK cents, as investors took profit on yesterday`s 18 percent surge on the acquisition news.

Other media stocks also gained. i-Cable Communications Ltd. (1097), Hong Kong`s sole pay television operator, surged 8.9 percent to HK$3.675. Television Broadcasts Ltd. (0511), Hong Kong`s dominant television broadcaster, jumped 4.6 percent to HK$40.80. South China Morning Post (Holdings) Ltd. (0583), the publisher of Hong Kong`s best-selling English-language newspaper, gained 2.5 percent to HK$6.25.

Restructuring of Chinese enterprises continues. Red-chip Chu Kong Shipping Development Co. (0560), a shipping agency and cargo handler, jumped 4.3 percent to 73 HK cents. The company said it is seeking to buy 10 mainland berths held by its parent company in a bid to focus its business on the development of logistics in China, investing in cargo transportation and other related businesses.

PetroChina Co. (0857), the No. 1 Chinese oil producer, fell 0.8 percent to HK$1.32. China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. (0386), the nation`s biggest oil refiner, also fell 0.8 percent to HK$1.23.

Legend Holdings Ltd. (0992), China`s No. 1 computer maker, jumped 6.7 percent to HK$5.60, extending a 16 percent gain in the last three trading days. Software developer Founder (H.K.) Ltd. (0418) rose 1.1 percent to HK$2.325.

On the Growth Enterprise Market, tom.com Ltd. (8001), a China portal controlled by billionaire Li Ka-shing, fell 0.5 percent to HK$1.96. SUNeVision Holdings Ltd. (8008), the Internet arm of Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd. (0016), gained 2.7 percent to HK$2.875.

Beijing Beida Jade Bird Universal Sci-Tech Co. (8095), a software developer ultimately controlled by Beijing University, dropped 3.1 percent to HK$1.90.

CASH on-line Ltd. (8122), an online broker spun off from Celestial Asia Securities Holdings Ltd. (1049), plunged 8.1 percent to 10.2 HK cents, after gaining 6.7 percent yesterday.

bei allem Respekt, wir können dir diesen Wunsch leider nicht mehr erfüllen, denn es wird nur noch nach Norden gehen. Im Ragingbull spekulieren die ersten schon die 50$ per Share in ein paar Wochen. Was ich zwar nicht glaube, aber 10 $ wären auch nicht schlecht. Glaubt ihr nicht auch, daß es gut ist, daß Hartcourt immer noch an der OTC gelistet ist. Denn an keiner anderen Börse, sei es in China, HongKong oder Europa, habe ich solche Sprünge gesehen wie an der OTC. Man muß nur den richtigen Moment abwarten, um dort abzuspringen, um in die Serioesität der regulierten Börsen zu wechseln. Also Hartcourt, geh schnell so auf die 10$ - 20$ und verabschiede dich dann mit einem 10 zu 1 Splitt nach HongKong, wo ab Mitte des Jahres die Post abgehen soll.

HSI Lower Midday; First Pacific Falls on Share Sale (Update1)

Hong Kong Stocks were slightly lower at midday as bank and property plays softened. First Pacific Ltd. (0142) plunged after a report that its main shareholder, Indonesia`s Salim family, placed some of its shares.

At midday, the benchmark Hang Seng Index was down 77.34 points, or 0.5 percent, at 15,358.45. Turnover was HK$4.6 billion. The Growth Enterprise Market Index, which tracks the performance of technology and related companies on Hong Kong`s second board, fell 1.12 points, or 0.37 percent, to 302.19 on turnover of HK$53.2 million.

"Despite the gains on Wall Street, the rising crude oil prices created pressure on Asian stock markets including Hong Kong," said Mark Wan, research manager at Tanrich (H.K.) Holdings Ltd. A spate of factors, including China`s negotiations for admission to the World Trade Organization, uncertainty over further interest rate cuts, and the slowing U.S. economy, confused investors, he said.

Wan expects Hong Kong stocks to remain mixed, with the HSI moving between 15,200 and 15,500 in the afternoon.

First Pacific Ltd. (0142) plunged 15.3 percent to HK$2.075 after Indonesia`s Salim family sold almost US$31 million of its stake in the conglomerate at about HK$2 each, an 18 percent discount to its last price of HK$2.45 yesterday, according to the South China Morning Post. Turnover was a heavy HK$277.2 million. The fact that Salims placed existing shares in First Pacific, rather than new shares, indicates the Salim family urgently needs to sell assets to solve its financial problems, a securities analyst said. This will put pressure on First Pacific in the short term, he added.

Sino Land Co. (0083) shed 1.2 percent to HK$4.125, declining for a second day after its HK$783 million share placement. Sino Land said an option to sell an additional 90 million shares in the placement that began on Tuesday has not been exercised and has expired. The share sale was said to have met with a tepid response from investors, causing Sino shares to slump 12 percent yesterday.

Among other property companies that have been clouded by speculation about possible share placements, New World Development Co. (0017) rebounded 3.2 percent to HK$11.25, after losing more than 10 percent in the past two days. Amoy Properties (0101) also rose 1.8 percent to HK$8.50. Henderson Land Development Co. (0012) continued to fall, shedding 4.3 percent to HK$40.10.

Other property and bank stocks were soft as they consolidated on the recent rally spurred by a 50 basis point interest rate cut in the U.S.

Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd. (0001), Hong Kong`s largest developer by market value, fell 0.97 percent to HK$102. Sun Hung Kai Properties (0016), the second largest developer, shed 1.3 percent to HK$79.25.

HSBC Holdings (0005), Europe`s and Hong Kong`s biggest bank, was down 0.4 percent to HK$116. Its subsidiary Hang Seng Bank (0011) shed 0.5 percent to HK$105. Dao Heng Bank (0223) fell 3 percent to HK$44.60. Bank of East Asia (0023), the city`s third-largest publicly traded bank by market value, was down 1.2 percent to HK$20.95.

Telecoms stocks were mixed. China Mobile (H.K.) Ltd. (0941), China`s largest mobile phone company, added 1.1 percent at HK$45.70. The company said Hewlett Packard will buy up to a 7-percent stake in its unit Aspire Holdings Ltd. for US$35 million. Aspire focuses mainly on system integration, product development and technical support for mobile data systems and related applications in China.

Rival China Unicom Ltd. (0762), which owns the nation`s No. 2 mobile phone service, fell 0.8 percent to HK$11.70.

Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. (0013), Hong Kong`s largest conglomerate, was down 1 percent at HK$97.25.

Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. (0008), a major Asian communications company, fell 0.5 percent to HK$4.80.

Hing Kong Holdings Ltd. (0535), a property developer, jumped 5.5 percent to 96 HK cents after it said Vision Century Ltd. will take control of the company, combining the 29.98 percent stake owned by CyberCity Holdings Ltd. with the 23.34 percent stake owned by China Travel International Investment Hong Kong Ltd. (0308). Vision Century is owned 40 percent by CyberCity and 60 percent by two Singapore corporations. China Travel fell 2.7 percent to HK$1.09 on profit taking following its recent gains on the disposal news.

Investors continued to chase after selected media stocks after Global China Technology Group Ltd.`s (1105) takeover of Sing Tao Holdings Ltd. (0233). Sing Tao rose 0.6 percent to HK$16.20 after the deal pushed it up 16.7 percent yesterday. Next Media Ltd. (0282), an e-commerce operator and Internet content provider, jumped 9.6 percent to 40.5 HK cents.

"Some capitals are attracted to absorb media stocks after the Sing Tao deal on expectations of similar takeover activities on them," said Herbert Lau, head of research at Celestial Research Ltd.

Television Broadcasts Ltd. (0511), Hong Kong`s dominant television broadcaster, added 2.4 percent to HK$41.90, extending yesterday`s 4.9 percent gain. Oriental Press Group (0018), which publishes the city`s best-selling daily newspaper, rose 1.8 percent to HK$1.14.

In Zeiten, wo es denn Japanern schlecht geht, müßte eigentlich HongKong die überschüssigen Kapitalflüsse auf sich ziehen, zu mal der amerikansiche Markt auch nicht viel verspricht. ROUNDUP: Tokios Börse sackte auf tiefsten Stand seit rund zwei Jahren

TOKIO (dpa-AFX) - Die asiatische Leitbörse in Tokio ist am Donnerstag auf den tiefsten Stand seit rund zwei Jahren gesackt. Trotz der positiven Vorgabe der Wall Street büßte der Nikkei-Index für 225 führende Werte 231,58 Punkte oder 1,72 Prozent ein und ging mit 13.201,07 Punkten aus dem Markt. Das ist nicht nur der tiefste Stand seit 27 Monaten. Tokios Kursbarometer ist damit zugleich nicht mehr weit vom niedrigsten Schlusstand seit Mitte der 80er Jahre entfernt, den der Nikkei im Oktober 1998 mit 12.879,97 Punkten erreicht hatte. Händler in Tokio beschrieben die Stimmung am Markt als extrem schlecht und nannten dafür mehrere Faktoren. Nicht die Kursgewinne an der Wall Street, sondern vielmehr fundamentale Probleme wie insbesondere ein Abschwung der japanischen Wirtschaft und die sich verschlechternde Ertragslage der Unternehmen hätten im Blickpunkt des Marktes gestanden, sagte Kunihiro Hatae von Tokai Tokyo Securities vor Reportern. Mancher fürchtet gar bereits eine neue Rezession. Vize-Wirtschaftsminister Katsusada Hirose machte indes gute Miene zum bösen Spiel: Japan bleibe auf dem Pfad einer moderaten Erholung, versicherte Hirose in Reaktion auf die erneuten Kurseinbrüche. Zwar gebe es einige Risikofaktoren wie dem schwachen Aktienmarkt. Doch hätten sich Japans grundlegende Wirtschaftsdaten nicht verschlechtert. Der Chef der Industrie- und Handelskammer, Kosaku Inaba, wies daraufhin, dass sich Japans Finanzinstitute angesichts der nachgebenden Kurse an der Börse noch mehr bei der Vergabe von Krediten an kleine und mittlere Betriebe zurückhalten könnten. Japans Finanzhäuser ächzen auch nach Jahren noch immer unter einem riesigen Berg fauler Kredite. Der Abwärtstrend an Tokios Börse liege zu einem Teil an der beschleunigten Auflösung von Überkreuzbeteiligungen der Finanzinstitute mit Blick auf das am 31. Inc , der Betreiber des meistbenutzten Internetportals, hatte am Mittwoch nach Börsenschluss für das Jahr 2001 einen geringeren Zuwachs von Umsatz und Gewinn als von Analysten erwartet vorausgesagt. Im nachbörslichen Handel fiel die Yahoo-Aktie in New York bis um 23 Prozent. Dessen größter Anteilseigner Softbank , sah daraufhin am Donnerstag in Tokio seine Aktie ebenfalls um 415 Yen oder zwölf Prozent auf 2.995 Yen fallen. Zwischenzeitlich war der einstige Börsenstar auf ein Rekordtief von 2.980 Yen gestürzt. Eine weitere Sorgenquelle für den japanischen Aktienmarkt ist die Schwäche des Yen gegenüber dem US-Dollar . Dies führe potenziell zu Verkäufen unter ausländischen Investoren, sagte Hiroichi Nishi von Nikko Securities. Zwar wirkt sich ein schwacher Yen positiv auf die Exporterträge japanischer Unternehmen aus. Ausländische Investoren aber haben das Nachsehen, da der Dollarwert ihrer japanischen Beteiligungen schmilzt. Um 17.00 Uhr Ortszeit notierte der US-Dollar mit 116,69-72 Yen nach 116,51-54 Yen am späten Mittwoch. dein Optimismus in allen Ehren,aber 10€ sehe ich in nächster Zeit nicht.
Bei 10€ hätte HRCT einen Börsenwert von 600 Millionen Euro,und ich denke dafür reicht die
Phantasie noch nicht aus.Den Börsenwert hatten wir zwar schon letztes Jahr einmal,
was aber nur der WTO Meldung zuzuschreiben war.Wir sollten schon mal abwarten,was uns das Frühjahr bringt.
Ich bin HRCT Aktionär seit über einem Jahr,weil mir die Story immer besser gefällt,habe aber aus dem letzten Jahr gelernt

glaub es geht noch mal abwärts heute und morgen auch, denke ich.
hartcourt konnte sich heute noch nicht aus dem sog der asiatischen werte ziehen.

aber mitte des jahres sehe ich die aktie bei rund 4 dollar, vielleicht sogar 5. ende des jahres denke ich bei rund 7-8.

ich glaube nicht das Hartcourt wieder stark fallen wird.
Im Moment läuft in Amerika wieder das alte bekannte Spiel.
Mit kleinen Stückzahlen wird der Kurs gedrückt, um größere Stückzahlen bei geringeren Kurs zu kaufen.
Ich habe bei einen Kurs von 0,75 Nocheinmahl nachgekauft und auch diese Stücke bleiben in meinen Depot.

Hallo Longs,

gute Nachrichten bleiben gute Nachrichten...solange keine schlechten folgen HRCT hat des öfteren gute Nachrichten gebracht. Das haben die Shorties zu einer kurzfristigen Ralley und anschließendem "Short gehen" genutzt Wie eigentlich immer Fakt ist (aus meiner Sicht), daß HRCT unbeirrt weitermarschiert. Das Fundament wird immer größer und härter. Hier wird erst eine gute Mannschaft aufgebaut - unabhängig in welcher Liga die spielen - und dann folgt der Aufstieg. Der GEM scheint zwar nur zweitklassig zu sein aber im gegensatz zur OTC-Börse ein Aufstieg um mindestens 4 Klassen !!! Wenn im Februar das Listing von Streaming Asia erfolgen sollte, dann werden wir uns einpendeln zwischen 3-6 $. Und angeblich ist ein Listing an der GEM zwar sehr kostspielig aber bei weitem einfacher als an der Nasdaq. Eine weitere Enttäuschung wird sich (hoffentlich) unser Doc nicht erlauben - á la Nasdaq-Listing - da sonst das Anlegervertrauen wieder einmal dahin wäre. Long, longer, Hartcourt Und wenn im 2. Quartal Sinobull planmäßig laufen sollte (jetzt HRCT mit 51% und Sinobull mit IBM im Nacken), dann halte ich zum Jahresende 10-15 $ für möglich. Ich kann jedem nur raten schaut nicht nur auf den Kurs....seht euch die Beteiligungen an Über 10 Beteiligungen, wobei die meisten Gewinn erwirtschaften. Dazu ein Wachstum in China von über 8%. Die IT-Werte in USA und der Nemax haben deutlich an Vertrauen verloren. Was bleibt ist die Zukunft...und die heißt Asien Zumahl ich nicht wissen möchte wer sich als US-Investor jetzt schon einen Teil an HRCT gesichert hat. Die Ableger kompetenter Partner aus China werden mit Sicherheit ihre Mütterhäuser in USA unterrichtet haben das hier möglicherweise eine Perle heranwächst. Auf dem jetzigen Niveau kann man mit Sicherheit nicht viel falsch machen. Wenn erst einmal die Ankündigung vom Streaming-Asia IPO erfolgen sollte dann dürfte der Kurs abgehen.

So, damit auch alle REALISTEN beruhigt sind:

Ich habe mich mit hartcourt kurz vor dem hype von 99 beschäftigt, dann aber nicht gekauft.

Habe jetzt gekauft, da der Kurs und die Stimmung am Boden ist (die der Börsen und Internetwerte meine ich) (einstieg 1.35 Euro)

was ich gespannt beobachte, ist die schon angesprochene Unausgeglichenheit der Kurse zw.Amiland und hier.

Bei jedem normalen US-Wert, pendelt sich der deutsche Kurs um den Schlusskurs der US-Aktie ein, es sei denn, es gab nachbörsliche Änderungen, oder Nachrichten, die einen Kauf repektive Verkauf "empfehlen"

Bei Hartcourt ist das SELTSAM anders:

am Mittwoch war der Kurs unter dem Umrechnungskurs der US-Aktie und diese dt.Hellseherei hat fast mit dem in USA zustandekommenden Schlusskurs übereingestimmt.Beim Donnerstagskurs in Deu "wusste" auch wieder jemand vom fallenden US-Kurs.
Heute nun kaufen Anleger wieder eine große Anzahl von Aktien und bezahlen einen Aufschlag im hohen zweistelligen %-Bereich.
Es gibt keine Nachrichten und in den US-Boards gibt es auch keine Erklärungen.

Ich kann mir aber auch nicht vorstellen, dass irgendwelche Zocker einfach auf diesen Zug aufspringen, auch das Eindecken von Shortpositionen halte ich nicht für realistisch.

Ich will hier auch nicht die Aktie schlechtmachen (ich hab sie ja selber und von mir aus kann hier jetzt irgendjemand wissen, was ich nicht weiss,hauptsache der US-Kurs bestätigt diese Vorkäufe!!

Nur halte ich folgendes für bedenklich:
Das Konstrukt eine Person als PR-Mitarbeiter für DT(Europa) einzusetzen,der dann eine dt.Webseite aufbaut (übersetzt) ist mir nicht ganz klar.

Wenn ich morgen eine Firma gründe, die aus dt. mit chinesischen Firmen arbeitet, dann komme ich doch nicht auf die Idee, eine amerikanische Page aufzubauen, um die Amis zu "informieren". Es sei denn, die Anzahl der Käufer (der Aktien) kommt zu Beginn des 99er Hypes gar nicht aus USA sondern aus Deutschland (!)
Auch von den Mitreisenden nach China, die letzte Woche (?) zurückkehrten hört man auf den Boards nur wenig konstruktives (??) Obwohl normalerweise keine Ameise in der Chefetage rumlaufen kann, ohne dass es auf einschlägigen Boards berichtet wird.

Vielleicht kann mich ja mal jemand aufklären, was es mit der PR-Person in dt. auf sich hat und wie im letzten Jahr der Zusammenhang zw.dt Kursen und US Kursen war.

Eine vielzahl von Internet - Unternehmen übersetzen deren Seiten in einige Sprachen und dies nicht nur da Sie etwas verkaufen wollen (z.B. ein Produkt), Sie wollen eher in verschiedenen Sprachen informieren.
Dieses Service für den deutschsprachigen Anleger halte ich für sehr gut, ausserdem als Beteiligungsges. pflegt HRCT eben eine sehr offene Informationspolitik und hält laufend ausschau auf weiter Investoren.

Durch das Medium Internet hat man dadurch enorm grosse Ressourcen und warum sollte HRCT dies nicht nutzen ???

Es ist im allgemeinen auch recht uninteressant wo mehr Umsatzvolumen ist da auch Europäer im Nasdaq handeln und nicht nur Amerikaner.

Am Mittwoch: Kurs in D 10% unter US-Schluss(ohne offensichtlichen Grund da Stimmung Nasdaq+Nemax bedingt pos ist) -- Kurs in USA sinkt.
Am Donnerstag: Kurs in D im Tagesverlauf unter US-Schlusskurs (Stimmung siehe oben) -- Kurs in USA sinkt

Am Freitag: Kurs in D steigt kräftig 10-15% über US-Schluß -- Kurs in USA steigt und wenn du die realtimedaten von USA und D vergleichst, dann fällt dir auf dass bis eben die Limiterhöhung im ASK immer erst in D kam und dann in USA gefolgt wurde.
Jetzt geht auch der Umsatz in USA nach oben aber schau dir mal die Umsätze an.

Mittwoch in D recht schwach USA folgt mit schwachem Umsatz
Donnerstag in D weiter schwach USA folgt.
Freitag der Umsatz ist bis US-Handelsbeginn so hoch wie die Tage zuvor gesamt und bis 17 uhr so hoch wie Mi+Do zusammen.

Warum aber steigt der Umsatz an *schulterzuckend* na ja, weil der US-Kurs kurioserweise auch bei steigendem Umsatz explodiert.

(Was im übrigen für Small/Micro-Caps ein klares charttechnisches Kaufsignal ist )

Und aus diesen Beobachtungen der letzten Tage, habe ich Euch als "alte Hasen" doch nur gefragt, ob das schon vorher zu beobachten war-MEHR NICHT!!

bei so einem Wert würde ich mir gründlich überlegen,ob es Sinn macht ein Stop-Los zu setzen.
Tagesschwankungen von mehr als20% sind eh die Regel als Ausnahme.Kann schon sein,daß du deine Aktien los wirst wegen Stop-Los,und bevor du mit Rückkauf reagieren kanst muß du schon viel mehr bezahlen.
Selbst erlebt Ende 1999 und seit dem kein Stop-Los mehr gesetzt

MY IMPRESSIONS

We heard the presentation from Alan Chow, CEO of Streaming Asia at the Regal Hong Kong
on the morning of 12/30/2000. Later that day we visited the offices of Streaming Asia in
Central Hong Kong. Even though it was a Saturday late afternoon almost every desk was
occupied and engaged in, what appeared to me, to be actual work. Now, was this done for
our benefit? I have no way of knowing, what I had heard even before our visit, is that
Streaming Asia was a very busy company working long hours every day. I have no reason to
doubt that it was part for our benefit and part to accomplish objectives. We met several of the
technical staff and I personally wandered around looking at the workstation displays and I
spent some time in the digitizing room watching a program be converted from film to digital. I
also have a customer list for Streaming Asia that is three pages long and lists of Logicspace
customers and those who are involved in the efforts of SyndicateAsia.

While I have not been able to get my hands on actual financial statements, it is my
understanding that StreamingAsia is profitable and that the IPO process is right on track.

Overview....this is an obvious area for the future. Streaming will take many forks in the future,
from TV on demand (TIVO being the personal level) where the TV stations archive their
shows for view on demand over the Internet, or another medium....to education on demand
which can include college courses, corporate training, etc. Really the solutions will be
widespread, especially when broadband is readily available to everyone....and wireless. The
funds from the IPO will be utilized to purchase more equipment and to expand the business
opportunities by buying out competition for consolidation and to expand into the corporate
training and education areas. This is a fine company with execution and a vision. I personally
plan on buying as much of Streaming Asia as I am allowed pre-IPO. But that is just my
personal opinion.
