Initial Starnet Legal Victory

Recommendation Reinstituted: Strong Speculative BUY

In a written ruling handed down in Vancouver on Friday, October 15th, Mr. Justice Williamson granted Starnet`s Motion
to set aside one of two Mareva restraining orders issued against Starnet on September 22 in Ex Parte applications. The
September 22 orders obtained by Claude Levy and the British Columbia ("BC" prosecutors tied up almost $7 million of
Starnet cash and had been obtained in an Ex Parte Hearing (Starnet not having the opportunity to present its case). The
granting of these September restraining orders appears to have been substantially based upon the unsworn information
presented by Mr. Levy coupled with the sensationalism of the "information" in the August 1999 Search Warrant used by
authorities to raid the Starnet corporate headquarters.

The written opinion by Justice Williamson concluded that the alleged case of Mr. Levy against Starnet was not a strong
"prima facie" case and that the damages alleged against Starnet by Mr. Levy did not appear to be supported by the facts.
In short, the Judge concluded the allegations were fanciful. Judge Williamson therefore granted the motion of Starnet to set
aside the restraining order.

In hindsight, neither law nor the facts supported the Court having granted Mr. Levy in September the Mareva order. A
copy of Judge Williamson`s Written Decision can be found on Starnet`s corporate web site at http://www.snmm.com/.

The remaining Mareva Injunction granted to BC prosecutors will be appealed as a next step. Conversations with Starnet
General Counsel suggest that this appeal of the remaining restraining order will proceed expeditiously.

We are reinstituting our BUY recommendation for Starnet at these prices with a STRONG SPECULATIVE BUY
rating. The Friday decision is a strong boost to Starnet based on a hearing on the facts. The speculative modifier denotes
the fact that Starnet is in the middle of a legal process. While a positive outcome of the process now appears more
possible, and Starnet has positioned itself operationally to not be in any present violation of Canadian or BC law, it is still a
legal process. Additionally, the Company is subject to press articles, such as in Newsweek, October 18, 1999 by Mark
Hosenball who writes an article on the Starnet situation from an unbalanced and naive internet gaming viewpoint.

Conclusion: The 3/4 franchise³ value of Starnet, coupled with its earnings and cash flow generation, strongly suggest that
the present price represents a too substantial discount. We intend to publish a Starnet Update Report in the coming week.

narürlich! Was sind schon 1 1/2 $ Erholung bei so guter Meldung,wenn die Aktie deswegen auch 10.-$ verliert? Die heutige Kursentwicklung riecht eher nach herber Endtäuschung! Nur frustriert es, nicht zu wissen aus welcher Ecke die Endtäuschung kommt.

Bin ebenfalls etwas enttäuscht WAS.

Aber warte noch einmal ein paar Tage ab, bis der aktualisierte PAR-Report (laut RAZ ist Donnerstag gerüchteweise vorgesehen) erscheint und eine positive Meldung bezüglich des Porno-Verkaufs veröffentlicht wird. Wenn beides noch diese Woche geschehen sollte, halte ich 10,- $ für durchaus möglich.

Ich meine gelesen zu haben, daß der Bericht "will be published most likely on wednesday". Aussage ist angeblich von Dutton. Also warten wir es ab.

Ist doch völlig normal, daß da einige Ihre Gewinne mitnehmen. Kein Grund zur Besorgnis.
Wenn sich erst die RCMP-Sache irgendwie erledigt, könnte ein größerer nachhaltiger Ausbruch kommen.
Bis jetzt sehe ich erst ein winziges Licht am Ende eines dunklen Tunnels.

Gemessen am Kursrutsch, den die angekündigte Klage verursacht hat(12$),
war der Anstieg wirklich nicht so toll.
