T S Telecom (8003) today announced the result of the third quarter for 9 months as at 31 December, 1999 that the profits of the shareholders were $31.04 million, increasing 2.05 times compared to the figure in the same period last year. EPS was 16.2 cents, no interim dividend for the third quarter was paid.

Calculated for 3 months as at 31 December, 1999, the profits of the shareholders amounted to $21.44 million, up 104.3 times to the same period last year. EPS was 12.1 cents then.

wenn also einem die studie, es war glaube ich von daoheng securities begegnet, bitte hierhin damit

gute zukunftsaussichten
im branchenvergelich unterbewertet
kursziel weiß ich nicht mehr, es war aber noch deutlich luft

Hallo Asienfans,

die (leider immer noch zu unbekannte) TS Telecom rückt schön langsam ins Rampenlicht.

Trotz umsatzbremsender Restrukturierungsmaßnahmen sind die Gewinne im letzten Quartal gewachsen. Das unterstreicht meiner Meinung nach die die effiziente Handlungsweise des chinesischen Telecommunications-Unternehmens unter Führung von Randy Hung.

"We received many more orders in the third quarter, now that the reform is mostly completed," he said, adding he expected the restructuring programme to be completed by June this year. Hung said the company was expanding its business in mainland China and was in talks with parties in Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries to help develop their telecommunications systems.

A few days ago, a viewer and fan of Tony in the Quamswer column raised the question why I chose TS Telecom (8003), a little GEM listed company. He was curious because he knew that Tony would not have been very positive on this little company. As a remark to our dear viewers, this column is written by Vincent Lam with the approval of Tony. In most cases, Tony and the author share the same view though we will sometimes have different perspectives on a few companies.

I have to admit the purchase is somewhat speculative, but as the purchase only constitutes about 5% of our portfolio value, it will not significantly hurt the performance of our portfolio should the stock experience a major decline. If investors look at the balance sheets of our portfolio members, they should know that most of them are cash rich and very conservatively run. Tony and I do share the view that risk control is the key to successful investment, and the statement is especially true in the longer term.
