Sales stabilized at Euro 9,9 m - EBITDA improved again by 39 %

Munich, 16 November 2001, In the third quarter of 2001, Cybernet Internet Services International Inc. reported a organic growth of 3,5 % to Euro 9.9m compared to the same time period of the previous year. The growth rate in Germany was 10%. The gross margin increased in the third quarter by 42% compared to the same period in 2000 and thus amounts to 43 % of total sales.

Sales relating to the highly profitable Internet Data Center Services increased by 85% from Euro 1.24m to Euro 2.29m compared to the previous year. Contractually guaranteed recurrent sales increased from 77% to 96% of total sales compared to the same period in the previous year. The negative operating result (EBITDA) was reduced by 39% from Euro -5.87m to Euro -3.6m, while as a percentage of sales decreased from -61% to -36%.

The operating costs (excluding depreciation) were reduced by 11% from Euro 8.9m to Euro 7.9m. The company was able to reduce its general administrative expenses by 16% to Euro 3.1m. Sales and marketing expenses rose by 14% to Euro 2.7m. At the same time, sales per employee were increased by 15% to Euro 164,000. The net loss after interest expenses, results from bond buy backs and accounting related foreign exchange losses increased by 32% to Euro -6.4m.

The cost reduction programs where continued in the third quarter in order to achieve the planned improvements in the results as soon as possible. The headcount was reduced by 23 to 242 employees.
