Rhombic Corporation Commences Commercial
Development of Diamond Devices and Computer
Chips
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 2000-- Rhombic Corporation (OTCBB:NUKE - news)
is pleased to announce that the commercial development of diamond circuits and computer chips has begun. These diamond
circuits and chips, when folly developed, will have superior features over silicon which include: higher speed, larger capacity,
with much improved heat and radiation resistance.
The computer industry is beginning to realize that silicon is reaching the limits to its parameters for speed and miniaturization.
According to an article in the New York Times (Oct. 10, 1999 issue), Paul Packan, a scientist at Intel Corp., the world`s
largest chipmaker, said, ``Semiconductor engineers have not found ways around basic physical limits beyond the generation
of silicon chips that will begin to appear next year.`` He also was quoted as saying, it is ``the most difficult challenge the
semiconductor industry has ever faced.`` In the same article, Dennis Allison, a Silicon Valley physicist and computer designer
stated, ``The fact that this warning comes from Intel`s process group is really significant. This says that they see actual limits.``
What the semiconductor industry needs now is a revolutionary new material. Rhombic believes that diamond material is a
very strong candidate for the next generation of computer circuits and chips. Theoretically, chips made of diamond will be
smaller and faster than chips made from any other material. It is Rhombic Corporation`s business and marketing focus to
successfully develop a diamond circuit and chip for the satellite and computer industry and to become a major player in the
new semiconductor materials market.
According to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) Report released on October 27, 1999, its 1999-2002 industry
forecast states that the worldwide semiconductor industry will grow 14.7% with sales topping $144 billion this year.
According to the report, ``Worldwide sales of semiconductors surged to $13.4 billion in October, the highest global sales
number in the history of the semiconductor industry.``
Statements in this news release looking forward in time involve risks and uncertainties and actual results way be materially
different. Factors that could cause actual results to differ include activity levels in the securities markets and other risk factors.
``From the Safe Harbor Statement under the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995.``
