Innovation Finance and Equity Exchange (IFEX) has launched a brokerage platform in Amsterdam and London to match small/mid-market quoted companies and entrepreneurs with potential investors via the Internet. Through the exchange, subscribing IFEX members will be able to access a database of screened business plans. IFEX has calculated there are around 1.4 million unquoted, growing or fast growing companies in Europe that are potential users of the IFEX Innovation Finance platform service. The service is due to launch in Belgium shortly.
All of the investment opportunities on IFEX are supported by, and channelled through, EBN (the European Business Innovation Centres Network). Backed by the European Union, 160 Business Innovation Centres (BICs) in over 21 countries will provide a due diligence service and upload deal data onto the IFEX website (www.ifexeurope.com). The IFEX Group aims to maximise the value of the EBN/BICs network and encourage links with other networks and professional deal introducers to deliver quality deal flow. Target subscribers include high net worth individuals, business angels and venture capital firms.
Jos van den Bersselaar, previously business development director with IBM, is CEO of IFEX. Former MP Steven Norris is chairman of the supervisory board. The group was created at the beginning of 2002 and is organised into three business divisions; Equity Exchange, Niche Investment Banking and Innovation Finance, which is the first service to launch.
IFEX has recruited an investment banking team, which will based in London and Copenhagen. The company aims to create a pan-European infrastructure by establishing agreements with partners such as small- and medium-sized stockbrokers and investment banks. IFEX is also working on an in-house underwriting guarantee scheme through which it can facilitate mezzanine financing for small/mid-market quoted companies and unquoted SME transactions. In addition, IFEX is developing Equity Exchange, a secondary market mechanism for pre-IPO investors and a potential source of exits for the unquoted private equity market. It is scheduled to launch in December 2003

Unternehmen erhält neues Geld und heißt künftig Delphinance
Totgesagte leben länger: Mehr als zwei Jahre nach dem Beginn der Krise bei Letsbuyit.com (Börse Frankfurt: LBC) hat die Firma jetzt fundamentale Veränderungen bekannt gegeben: Der selbsternannte "Powershopper" verabschiedet sich aus dem Internet, wird sich künftig " Delphinance" nennen und erhält eine weitere Finanzspritze in Höhe von zehn Millionen Euro.

Das Gelt kommt von "einem größeren Finanzinstitut" und soll dazu genutzt werden, ein neues Corporate Finance und Investment Geschäft aufzubauen, so die Firma. Eine Bedingung sei gewesen, dass sich Letsbuyit.com von dem verlustbringenden Onlinehandelsgeschäft einschließlich aller Vermögenswerte und Verbindlichkeiten trenne. Der Grund: Die operativen Kosten des Online-Handelsgeschäfts hätten die erzielten Umsätze erheblich überstiegen.

Das operative Geschäft sei mit wirtschaftlicher Wirkung zum 30. September 2002 vollständig an LBI Holdings verkauft worden. Allerdings muss die Börse dem Deal noch zustimmen. Sollte sie dies tun, werden die derzeitigen Vorstände Gideon Lask und Arne Stoldt zurücktreten.

Das künftige Unternehmen Delphinance soll vor allem "Unternehmen und Transaktionen identifizieren, diese finanzieren oder Finanzierungen zu finden sowie diesen Unternehmen Beratungsdienstleistungen anbieten", so die Firma weiter. Die Aktie des Unternehmens dümpelt seit Jahresanfang bei Kursen um einen Cent.
