AirPrime is located in Carlsbad, California and was founded in 1999. AirPrime currently has 78 full time employees, many of whom have successfully worked together previously in the wireless and computer industries. The company has achieved significant growth with revenues of $19.2 million in 2002, compared to $6.2 million in 2001. Results are reported in US dollars and in accordance with US GAAP. In addition, AirPrime supplies blue chip customers such as Audiovox, Handspring, Hitachi and Sprint.

SWIR ist nicht gerade teuer, wenn man es mit anderen Werten vergleicht. Im letzten Quartal gab es sogar Gewinne.
Insbesondere die Übernahme bringt weitere Phantasie in diesen Wert. Charttechnisch siehts auch gut aus. Erst wenn die 6$-Marke deutlich unterschritten wird, ist der positive Aufwärtstrend erstmal beendet und eine grössere Korrektur könnte eintreten.

UPDATE - Sierra Wireless reports fourth-quarter profit

TORONTO, Jan 28 (Reuters) - Sierra Wireless Inc. (Toronto:SW.TO - News) reported a stronger than expected fourth-quarter profit on Wednesday as revenues jumped 53 percent on strong demand for its wireless modems.

The Vancouver, British Columbia-based firm reported net income of $1.9 million, or 8 cents a share, for the quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a profit of $1.3 million, or 8 cents a share, in the corresponding period last year.

Revenues in the quarter rose to $34.6 million from $22.5 million.

Sierra said that, excluding integration costs, and cash flow and interest effects related to a stock offering, net earnings were $2.7 million, or 13 cents a share.

Analysts had expected an adjusted profit of 6 Canadian cents a share, on revenues of $31.55 million, according to Reuters Research, a unit of Reuters Group Plc.

The company said in October it expected fourth-quarter adjusted earnings per share of between 5 and 6 cents, on revenue of between $30 million and $32 million.

"We had listed Sierra as one of the companies that was likely to beat the consensus numbers and it looks like they did that, and handily," said John Bucher, a Los Angeles-based analyst at Harris Nesbitt who rates the stock "neutral".

"I think the main reason was they shipped more PC cards than they thought they would," he said.

Sierra Wireless said on Wednesday it expected first-quarter 2004 revenues of $35 million to $37 million and earnings per share of about 6 cents.

For the first quarter of fiscal 2004, analysts had expected a profit of 6 cents a share on revenue of $29.84 million.
