Dr. Jiang Zhu Appointed Chief Science Officer US Global Nanospace

CARSON CITY, NV--(MARKET WIRE)--Jan 6, 2004 -- US Global Nanospace, Inc. (OTC BB: USGA) today announced that Dr. Jiang Zhu of Rice University has been appointed Chief Science Officer for the company. Currently a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Rice University, a world leader in the nanosciences and nanotechnology, Dr. Jiang Zhu is developing high performance composite nanomaterials, including nanotube reinforced polymer composites with significantly improved strength and toughness with under five percent nanotube addition. Dr. Zhu is working on several defense applications including US Navy warship composite structures and military aircraft electromagnetic applications.

Dr. Zhu`s expertise includes polymer synthesis and processing, composites manufacturing, nanotube functionalization, materials characterization and numerical analysis technique. Dr. Zhu is active member of American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), American Society of Materials (ASM) and the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE). He has published 17 papers in various peer-reviewed professional journals and international conferences and has two U.S. provisional patents pending.

Dr. Zhu earned his Bachelor and Master`s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Xi`an Jiaotong University in 1989 and 1992 respectively. In 2002, he received his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla with dissertation research on the development of novel polymer composites material based on renewable and biodegradable natural sources, including soybean oil.
