LONDON (SHARECAST) - Part-nationalised bank Lloyds Banking said its compensatory open offer received acceptances in respect of 87% of the shares on offer.
The joint book-runners of the issue will now attempt to place the unsold shares in the market at a price of not less than 38.3p, being the price at which the shares were offered to Lloyds’ shareholders.
Any surplus received over the open offer price by the placing will be distributed pro rata to those shareholders who did not participate in the open offer.
If the book-runners are unable to secure buyers for the rump of the issue then the government will purchase the shares, thereby increasing its stake in the company.
Accepted Shares in uncertificated form are expected to be credited to accounts in CREST by 8.00 am today and despatch of definitive share certificates for the Accepted Shares in certificated form is expected to take place by 19 June 2009.
The proceeds from the open offer and placing, along with Lloyds’ existing cash resources, will be used to redeem 3.5m preference shares held by Her Majesty’s Treasury.

Am Montag 8:00 englische Zeit, gibt es die Info wie es gelaufen ist, am Dienstag ist Handel der neuen Papiere.
