IPO Preis lag bei 20 US $: ATH lag bei 87 US $

also her mit dem call :-)

Hi all,
also erstmal zu Volkswagen.
http://quote.bloomberg.com/analytics/bquote.cgi?view=bq&tick…
Kleiner Auszug aus den neusten Infos:
02.03.2000:
Ein Analyst von Merril Lynch meint z.B.
"...Web retailers such as eToys Inc. will beat Toys ``R`` Us Inc.
and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. because they don`t have to worry about
same-store sales, competing with their brick and mortar stores, or
earnings, he said. "
01.03.2000:
Hongkong einkaufen.
22.02.2000:
"..In a comprehensive and independent study of how Internet retailers
performed during the recent holiday season, eToys Inc. (Nasdaq:ETYS)
ranked No. 1 among the top 49 Web sites, according to Fortune
magazine..."

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

eTOYS NAMED TOP OVERALL WEB SITE OF `99 HOLIDAY SEASON ACCORDING TO FORTUNE MAGAZINE
SANTA MONICA, CA, February 22, 2000 - In a comprehensive and independent study of how Internet retailers performed during the recent holiday season, eToys Inc. (Nasdaq: ETYS) ranked number one among the top 49 Web sites, according to a report published in Fortune magazine. The research was conducted by Resource Marketing, Inc. of Columbus, OH, and was published in the magazine`s February 21st issue.
Resource Marketing described the research as "the industry`s most rigorous and disciplined study to date." The company "stress-tested" each site on more than 80 separate measures, including site navigation, product presentation, customer service and shipping. The effort simulated more than 500 customer interactions and required that researchers spend a minimum of 20 hours on each site, nearly 200 times that of the average shopper.
eToys led all companies and particularly outpaced its principal competitors. The top six spots were held by Internet pure-plays. More information on this study can be found at www.resource.com.
eToys recently reported strong financial results for the holiday quarter. Net sales more than quadrupled to $107 million and cumulative customer accounts nearly tripled to 1.7 million. The company far surpassed its competition in sales of toys and videos during the holiday.

Hallo Leute,

As noted above, a depressed share price limits a company´s ability to raise fresh funds. Let´s face it, with lots of investors looking at losses on a stock investment, selling more shares into the market can be difficult, at best. A good example is eToys, a toy retailer that came public at $20 and surged to well over $80 amid great public enthusiasm. The concept was easy to understand and promised great riches. But the competition, in the form of Toys R Us, did not roll over and play dead. Toys R Us launched its own Website, and ardor cooled for eToys. Today shares of eToys repose at 11 3/4. All those people who bought in at prices ranging from $20 to $80 are none too eager to buy more shares, even at $12. EToys has enough cash on hand to last only 11 more months, so stay tuned.
Gruß

Hallo Zusammen,
Also abwarten was das Jahr noch bringt.

BabyCenter Is the Leader Among Parenting, Pregnancy, and Baby Web Sites Media Metrix Data Shows BabyCenter Leads Lucrative Vertical: New Greenfield Online Survey Rates BabyCenter Tops in Overall Satisfaction
SAN FRANCISCO, Mar 20, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- BabyCenter, Inc., a
wholly owned subsidiary of eToys Inc. (Nasdaq: ETYS), today staked its claim as
the largest parenting site on the Web in the fast-growing and lucrative vertical
market for new and expectant parents, according to industry data from Media
Metrix. Additionally, BabyCenter was named the category leader for overall
customer satisfaction according to a recent Greenfield Online study of sites for
mothers with young children.
The Media Metrix data, through January 2000, shows Webby award-winning
BabyCenter.com had the largest unique audience compared to other parenting-
focused Web sites. During January, BabyCenter.com had more than 1.2 million
unique visitors, nearly 70 percent more than the second most-visited parenting
site.
The Greenfield Online Study surveyed 4,300 mothers with young children during
November 1999 and found BabyCenter.com ranked the highest in customer
satisfaction, with 82 percent of those surveyed rating it very good or
excellent. Chosen among nine Web sites that provide information, shopping, and
communities for mothers of young children, BabyCenter was selected over sites
such as ParentsPlace, Parent Soup, and Women.com.
"BabyCenter`s focus on key parenting issues of pregnancy, babies, and toddlers
has earned us a large and loyal following of parents, even as compared to the
broader women`s and parenting Web offerings of our category," said Mari Baker,
general manager of BabyCenter. "We are uniquely positioned to become the single
largest media reach for pregnant women and believe our current growth momentum
will allow us to build our leadership within the parenting market overall."
In addition to solidifying its leadership position in the lucrative vertical
market segment of new and expectant parents, BabyCenter has attracted a
blue-chip group of sponsors to its site through its unique variety of media
products. Current advertising partners include such well-known brands as Johnson
& Johnson, Sony, Beech-Nut, Tums, Tropicana, Carter`s, Children`s Tylenol,
Pampers, Phillips, Olan Mills, and Charmin.
"BabyCenter gives us unequaled access to the consumers we need to start a
relationship with new and expectant parents," explained Earl Justice of Beech-
Nut. "We considered many media options, but BabyCenter`s wide range of
innovative media programs, against the backdrop of a respected and quality site,
made BabyCenter the most strategic choice for Beech-Nut."
Beyond its parenting, pregnancy, and baby category leadership, Media Metrix data
also shows BabyCenter emerging as a strong contender among the fast-growing
category of health Web sites. Although BabyCenter.com retains its focus on
parenting, the site still tied as the third largest health site in terms of
unique visitors through January, coming behind only general health sites DrKoop
and Healtheon/WebMD. In addition, BabyCenter was recently honored with a
prestigious GII award as the top health site for 1999.

blue-chip group of sponsors to its site through its unique variety of media
Hallo Leute,

eTOYS ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF
BABYCENTER BRAND IN UK
Move Marks Company`s Continued International Expansion
LONDON, March 13, 2000 - eToys Inc. (Nasdaq: ETYS), the leading Internet retailer of children`s products, today announced the launch of its BabyCenter brand in the United Kingdom. BabyCenter`s new UK Web site, available at www.babycentre.co.uk, debuts as a content and community site for parents and parents-to-be and will add a commerce component featuring baby products and supplies later this year.
BabyCenter`s entrée into the international arena targets the $2.5 billion ( £1.58 billion) UK baby market (Bounty 2000) and creates a European platform for the Internet`s leading parenting site. BabyCenter.com is a wholly owned subsidiary of eToys Inc. which is based in Santa Monica, Calif.
This expansion comes on the heels of the highly successful launch late last year of eToys.co.uk, which quickly established itself as the British market leader during the recent holiday season. Similar to eToys.co.uk, BabyCentre.co.uk has been specifically designed for the UK audience.
"The introduction of BabyCenter in the UK solidifies and strengthens our position in this strategically important market," said Ruben Rodriguez, vice president of international for eToys Inc. "The UK is the beachhead of our European expansion plans and introducing our second site here gives us added momentum as we continue to pursue this key growth opportunity."
Based in London, BabyCentre.co.uk is led by Web site general manager Tanya Cordrey. Cordrey, a UK national, joins BabyCentre from BBC News, where she served as a senior strategy manager on new media, TV and radio.
"We believe that a critical success factor in launching into other countries is to ensure that the site is completely relevant to its local market," said Tanya Cordrey, general manager, BabyCenter.co.uk. "BabyCentre.co.uk has been developed in the UK by local experts to provide information and a supportive community designed for British parents and parents-to-be."
BabyCentre.co.uk also announced the appointment of a Medical Advisory Board to assist with health content development and provide invaluable expertise on much of its parenting information. Among the advisors are Penelope Leach, author of the acclaimed "Your Baby & Child" and world-favorite source of child development information, and Professor Lesley Page, the UK`s first ever Professor of Midwifery.
About BabyCentre.co.uk
Based in London, BabyCentre (www.babycentre.co.uk) provides content, community and later this year commerce, for parents and parents to be. With a design that makes the volumes of information easily accessible and engaging, BabyCentre is easy to navigate even for beginners on the Web.

eTOYS NAMES GATEWAY`S TED AUGUSTINE
AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND
CHIEF LOGISITCS OFFICER
SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 23, 2000 - eToys Inc. (Nasdaq: ETYS), the leading Internet retailer of children`s products, today announced the appointment of Theodore F. Augustine as senior vice president and chief logistics officer. Mr. Augustine, 53, was most recently vice president of global logistics and distribution for the fast-growing computer manufacturer Gateway, Inc.
In his new role, Mr. Augustine will lead the continued development and execution of eToys` worldwide operations strategy. He will be responsible for the company`s distribution centers, inbound and outbound logistics, and inventory management, as well as their integration with eToys` information technology systems. He will report directly to Toby Lenk, the company`s president and chief executive officer.
Mr. Augustine`s business career spans three decades and is marked by significant accomplishments in general management, global distribution and supply chain logistics. At Gateway, an $8.7 billion company known for its world-class operations and customer prowess, he had worldwide responsibility for logistics and direct-to-consumer distribution. Prior to joining Gateway in 1998, Mr. Augustine held senior management positions with Tech Data Corporation, M-Group Logistics and The Eli Witt Company.
"Ted is a highly experienced and highly talented executive who we expect will help take our logistics capabilities to the next level and ensure that they smoothly and efficiently serve our rapidly growing business," said Mr. Lenk. "His keen business insight and hands-on operating skills perfectly suit him for this new role and he is a great addition to the terrific management team we continue to build at eToys."
In February, eToys announced it would accelerate plans to use company-run distribution facilities as the company`s primary means of order fulfillment. As part of that strategic initiative, eToys is currently outfitting and expanding an East Coast distribution center in Danville, Va., and is also expanding its existing West Coast operations in Southern California. Mr. Augustine, who will join eToys in mid-April, will lead those efforts and manage the operations ramp-up for the peak holiday season later this year.
Forward-Looking Statements
Statements made in this document that are forward-looking involve risks and uncertainties that could cause results to differ materially from those expressed. Such risks and uncertainties include, but are not limited to, the company`s expectation of operating losses and negative cash flow for the foreseeable future. There can be no assurance regarding the impact that additions to the company`s management or enhancements of its distribution operations will have on the company`s financial condition or results of operations. Other risk factors include the company`s limited operating history, unpredictability of operating results, seasonality, inventory risk, reliance on key vendors and distributors as well as the competitive marketplace. Other risks are set forth in the company`s Form 424B4 Prospectus dated May 19, 1999, under the heading "Risk Factors" and in the company`s other filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, including its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ended December 31, 1999.

Wo bleiben Eure Kommentare?
Also: eToys-Interessenten aller Welt vereinigt Euch.
