...The Loligo prospect alone could generate more than £10 billion in taxes.....

liest sich doch sehr gut. Bin mal gespannt nach welchen Kriterien und nach welchem Modus aufgeteilt wird.
      Weiter so. ;-)))))

Explorer on road to huge gas discovery in the FalklandsTim Webb The TimesPublished at 12:01AM, May 3 2013An AIM-listed explorer is confident that its gas discovery in the Falklands could produce as much as all the reserves left in the North Sea. Last year, Falkland Oil and Gas disappointed investors when a well that it drilled on its Loligo prospect unearthed gas instead of oil.Gas is much harder to take to market than oil, which can be shipped by tanker. But Tim Bushell, the chief executive, said that between 10 and 20 trillion cubic feet of gas — a fifth of the gas thought to be in place — could be recovered from the discovery to the east of the islands. If the results of a fourth well planned for next year are promising, he said that the gas could be shipped to Asia, using a floating liquefied natural gas vessel. The Falkland Islands and the British Government have agreed to split proceeds from oil and gas production from the area. The Loligo prospect alone could generate more than £10 billion in taxes.

Brokers upgrade Falkland Oil & Gas on profit rise
      By Darshini Shah | Thu, 02/05/2013 - 10:03

Falkland Oil and Gas (FOGL) moved into the black in the year ended 31 December 2012.

The oil and gas exploration company unveiled a profit of $1.1 million(Profit soso  ) (£707,000) for the year, compared to a 2011 loss of $6.6 million.

Cash in the company stood at $174 million, with a further $45 million due from its farm-outs.

Operationally, two deepwater exploration wells were drilled, within budget and on schedule. Both wells significantly de-risked the East Falkland Basin and, in the case of Loligo, demonstrated significant in-place gas volumes within multiple reservoirs. Post-well drilling analysis indicated "significant" potential for oil discoveries.

Additionally, major farm-out agreements were secured with two substantial international exploration and production companies, with strong exploration track records.

Over the year, the group maintained its position as the largest acreage holder of a gross 40,000 square kilometres in the Falkland Islands, with a substantial interest retained after the farm-outs.

Falkland Oil and Gas said it was focused on further de-risking its assets through an extensive 3D seismic data programme covering over 10,000 square kilometres, for which it was fully funded. An initial 5,235 square kilometre 3D survey over the Cretaceous-aged Diomedea Fan Complex was completed in April, with a 1,000 square kilometre survey over the Cretaceous fault block area underway. A further 3D survey in the Northern Licence Area was being planned for the fourth quarter of 2013. Finally, Falkland Oil and Gas said it was defining targets for exploration drilling during the second half of the year.

      Analyst view

"Falkland Oil and Gas is rightly optimistic about its immediate future," commented analysts at FoxDavies. They explained: "Not only [is it] well funded for its immediate drilling programme, which gives it the ability to be able to dictate its future to some extent at least, but, before any subsequent funding round, it is able to choose what type of funding it will seek.

"Furthermore, we believe [the] Argentinian government is an irrelevance outside its borders and the Falkland Islands government and the South Falkland Basin's [SFB] operators will reach an understanding regarding limited onshore, or near-offshore, development that will unlock the potential of the SFB."

Consequently, the broker upgraded its recommendation to 'buy' from 'hold', but maintained a target price of 55p.
