ECI Telecom Receives $16 Million Order from Israeli Defense Forces for XDM Optical Platform

PETAH TIKVA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 2005--ECI Telecom (NASDAQ:ECIL) today announced that it has received a new $16 million order from the Israeli Ministry of Defence to provide additional XDM(R) optical equipment to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF). This agreement follows the successful installation of ECI equipment from a previous order for deployment of the IDF`s optical backbone. The additional XDM equipment enables the IDF to increase its core network`s bandwidth and supply high capacity services to its headquarters and military bases as well as to various units.


The IDF has relied on ECI for many years to provide them with the highest quality telecommunications equipment. This new contract underscores that ECI`s technology leadership continues to meet and exceed the stringent requirements of the IDF.
